Review: I am a coin collector, that normally uses [redacted] Coin Company, in [redacted], NH. They are honest and do not mislead you in anyway. Their intentions, and advertising, are concise and easy to understand. Then, I started getting ads through the mail from American Mint LLC out of Pennsylvania. They were obvious introductory offers, or so I thought. $4.95 for a nice coin, so I tried one, fully expecting to see something soon from them regarding their other coins. But no, I got two more of these $4.95 offers, and this time, when they were shipped, there was a bill for about $85.00 Unlike [redacted], which sends you coins to look at for two weeks, and return the ones you do not want, American Mint used a different tact. Somewhere in the verbiage of the material sent to you, it must say that you are agreeing to pay for something. That is all I can think of. It must be in the "finer print." I will not pay them; I paid them for the coins they advertised. I am not paying for deception, and that is what they are all about. Oh... and look what I just now see in [redacted] about them... they have all sorts of complaints about this exact topic, and the Revdex.com knows about them.
So once again, the adage "If it sound too good to be true, it must be..." These people need to be straightened out!! I will gladly pay for coins I want, that are not deceptively advertised. I want an apology, at minimum.Desired Settlement: Disputed Amount: $85.00 - At minimum, I want an apology for deceptive practices. If they want to straighten up and fly right, I will work with them, as I do [redacted] Coins. But make no mistake, they are messing with the wrong person. I have friends in both the US Secret Service and the FBI. I expect honesty with companies I work with.

I am both accepting and rejecting their "apology." What I said initially stands, they are not out in the open. Their offer should clearly state that if you keep the coin, you will be billed for it. The problem people have with this company is the method they use to lure you in. I should not have to check the fine print on the back of some form to realize... I am being billed for the coin. It is both misleading and deceptive. For preview? Yes, that is what [redacted] Coin Company does, but the difference is, you know that is what they are doing. American Mint disguises that. I thought it was bought outright. American Mint does this intentionally to hook the consumer into paying a bill they were unaware was coming.
Review: I received a piece of mail in November 2013 containing sales literature, and prize contest scratch off card. It was for a JFK medal issued in honor of our President being assassinated 50 yrs prior and a copy of one of his speeches. The game was to determine which of three prices would apply depending on any or all numbers matching. They were tiered from $79.00 down to zero, meaning it would be free. Having matched all three scratch off windows, it was only necessary to send the $4.95 shipping in order to receive it. I complied and a month or so later, received an envelope with the medal, the copy of the speech as well as several more different medals and a bill for $79.95.
As I never asked for these, and postal regulations indicate recipient is not responsible for anything unordered, I am still in possession. Several weeks ago, another solicitation arrived with the same game to win again. I did not reply.
Today, Feb 1, 2014, I received an invoice dated Dec 17, 2013 billing me for $79.95 and again reminding me late charges are applicable if not paid. As I regard this as fraudulent, misleading, and perhaps a violation of Fair Trade laws, I am hereby making a formal complaint also to FTCDesired Settlement: No further correspondence nor billing statements.
Remove my name from all mailing lists.

Dear **. [redacted],
I am writing in reference to **. [redacted]’s complaint. We received an introductory order form in the mail from **. [redacted] on 12/5/13 for a free JFK 50th Anniversary commemorative coin. We received payment of $4.95 for shipping and handling with check #[redacted]. This package was shipped to **. [redacted]’s address on 12/17/13. Another item, a JFK 1961 Inauguration Speech coin, was sent along inside the same package for preview with no obligation to purchase as it states on the order form in the American Mint Satisfaction Guarantee. Enclosed is a copy of this order form.
We do provide postage paid return labels upon request as it states on the reverse side of our “Returns Information Form” enclosed inside all of our packages. Our hours of operation, email address and toll free phone number are also located on this paperwork.
**. [redacted] states that he still has this coin in his possession because he is not responsible for anything unordered per postal regulations. However, as noted above, **. [redacted]’s order form did state that other items would be sent for preview. American Mint has cancelled the “Life of John F Kennedy” commemorative coin collection and mailed him a postage paid return label to return the JFK 1961 Inauguration Speech coin at no cost to himself. Enclosed is a copy of his account statement.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused **. [redacted]. Let me know if you need anything further. Thank you for your assistance in settling this matter.

I am rejecting this response because:
No address label, nor return postage envelope has thus far been received. If and when it arrives I will return said merchandise, provided American Mint removes me from all and any future mailings, billing statements, and correspondence of any type.
Today I received another offer with an amount due, so this must cease also.

Dear **. [redacted],
I am writing in reference to **. [redacted]’s complaint rebuttal. **. [redacted] states that he is rejecting the response because he has not received a return address label or envelope. On 2/4/14 we printed the postage paid return label and letter. This was mailed out on 2/5/14. It can take 7-10 business days. Once it leaves our warehouse, it is handled and delivered by the USPS. Also, only a postage paid return label was issued, not an envelope. We urge our customers to use the same padded secure package that the shipment arrived in.
We have removed **. [redacted]’s name and address from our mailing list. However, our mailing advertisements are preprinted in advance. Thus, it may take up to ninety days for advertisements to cease. We have also applied a billing halt on **. [redacted]’s account until mid March so that he will not receive a bill while we are waiting for the package to be returned and processed.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused **. [redacted]. Let me know if you need anything further. Thank you for your assistance in settling this matter.

I am rejecting this response because:
There was no padded package. Just regular mailing envelope. I'll await the receipt of said paid return materials and return said shipment at that time.

7/14/2014 Dear [redacted],I am writing in reference to [redacted]’s complaint. We received an introductory order form in the mail from [redacted] on 4/17/14 for a free 1933 Double Eagle Archival Edition commemorative coin. This package was shipped to [redacted]’s address on 4/21/14. Another item, an 1838 Eagle Archival Edition coin, was sent along inside the same package for preview with no obligation to purchase as it states on the order form in the American Mint Satisfaction Guarantee. Enclosed is a copy of this order form.On 6/3/14, we spoke with [redacted]. In response to this conversation, we cancelled the “Gold Eagle Archival Collection” and sent [redacted] a postage paid return label to return the 1838 Eagle Archival Edition coin. The free 1933 Double Eagle Archival Edition coin is [redacted]’s to keep. On 6/25/14, [redacted] called American Mint again and informed us that the previous postage paid label was not received. Another one was mailed that day. American Mint is uncertain if [redacted] received the last postage paid return label that was mailed to him, so another one was mailed today.[redacted]’s complaint states that he never ordered any coins and that he does not have any in his possession. [redacted] did not mention this when he spoke with American Mint on two occasions. Payment or a return of the 1838 Eagle Archival Edition coin will reconcile the account balance. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused [redacted]. Review: I ordered a coin from a newspaper ad and sent a ckeck for $4.95 for the coin and they sent me 2 coins and a bill for $80.00. After a month I finally got a return address to send the coin back. They received the coin back but claimed it was the wrong coin. The 2 reps that I talked to never told me the coins were different. This company is ripping people off. I am now sending the other coin back. They are sending me bills with late charges and I am refusing to pay them any money.Desired Settlement: I hope the return me my coin but I am sure they wont do it

I am rejecting this response because: American Mint is untruthful about having telephone conversations with me regarding this coin. I have not phoned them nor have they reached me regarding this coin (they cannot because they do not have my personal telephone number!). All I have ever received from American Mint is a demand for payment, which escalated to a threat to ruin my credit and assign me to collections despite several letters from me explaining the situation.

Review: I received an offer in the mail from American Mint for a Scratch and Save. This offer was for The [redacted] Gold Vault commemoorative coin, the scratch off could reveal a price or could be free. My scratch off reveal free so I sent in the $4.95 for the coin. The check dated April 1 2014 as of April 29 2014 I have not received the coin. Called American Mint to ask what the problem was, they told me
they could not find a record of the check, I checked with my bank to see if check was cashed by them and in fact the check was received and cashed by their back in their account. If the money is in their account how is it that I do not have the coin, and yes this is after two phone calls to their customer service department ( ###-###-####).Desired Settlement: I would like my coin

05/05/2014Dear [redacted],I am writing in reference to **. [redacted] complaint. **. [redacted] states that he submitted a check in April dated 4/1/14 in the amount of $4.95 to order a [redacted] coin. **. [redacted] does not reference the check for this order in his complaint.American Mint has record of receiving an order from **. [redacted] in early March for a free [redacted]Career Victory coin. This offer was paid via check #*26 for the shipping and handling of $4.95. We also have record of another order in March for a 1 Sitting Bull Sacagawea coin and a Remain Close to Great Spirit coin. This offer was paid via check #*28 for $9.90. Each coin was $4.95 and the shipping and handling was also $4.95. At the time the order was placed, the shipping and handling was not paid. We promptly received payment for the outstanding $4.95 via check #*33 on 3/31/14.We spoke with **. [redacted] on 4/29/14. During this conversation, he advised American Mint that he submitted check #*32 for 4.95 for the [redacted] order. As noted on the attached account statement, American Mint does not have record of an order for a [redacted] coin. We informed **. Review: They keep sending me letters trying to collect $99.95 + 10.50 late fees for a product I did not order nor received. I received a fourth contact letter from them today that states they will transfer this matter over to a collection agency if not paid within 20 days. I have sent them emails and wrote notes to them on the letters they sent to me to explain I did not order nor did I receive a collectors choice offer of a 1986 $1 Statue of Liberty coin and a 1986 $1/2 Statue of Liberty coin valued at $99.95. I did not order nor did I receive these coins. All of my contacts to this company has been ignored and I told them in my last letter to them that I would turn this matter over to the Revdex.com if the invoices did not cease. Now they are telling me that they are going to turn this over to a collection agency which will destroy my spotless credit report. I do not approve of these threats and hope that you can do something about it for me. Thank you, [redacted].Desired Settlement: Letter of apology from American Mint and all charges against me (monetary and threats) be dropped with no further billing from them.

I am rejecting this response because: The coin that I returned to them was lost in the mail and I informed them of that. They sent me another postage paid envelope and I sent it back to them stating that I did not have the coin nor should I be charged for it just because the post office lost it. They are still trying to collect from me all these past months and they reject all my mails sent back to them. I write on the statements they send me, but they never respond to them. They just sending me letters . I tried calling them several times but their waiting times are way too long for me to be on the phone all day. I have done everything I can on my end and am getting very tired of their harassment. They threatened me with a collection agency and if they continue, I will take legal action against them. I have contacted my attorney about this matter and he will take over this from me if they send me anymore threatening letters. I am a retired man of 69 years with a very limited income and cannot afford to continue this harassment. Please shut them down and have them leave me alone. If they continue to try to collect from me, I will sue them in court. I consider this matter closed.

Regards,
Review: American Mint has been billing me for items I had already returned.I had received a total of 3(three) billing invoices; on the first 2(two) invoices, I had spoken to customer service representatives on the matter. On 06/30/14 at 1:06 pm, I spoke to Jessica about the items. After explaining to her I had mailed the items on 06/02/14 because I was told it was going to take at least 3(three) weeks to get a "return label" I decided to mail it on my own expense by USPS but when the 2nd(second) billing invoice arrived, I immediately contacted customer service, spoke to Ben on 08/11/14 at5:35 pm, and after explaining him the situation, I realized I had mailed the items to a different dept. Ben assured me that everything was going to be resolved because he was going to send me paperwork that I will receive in 10(ten) days or not later than 08/21/14. According to Ben, the paperwork will clear myself from the billing invoice in question. Well, instead of receiving the above documentation I received on 09/19/14 the 3rd(third) billing invoice for the items I did returned. When I spoke to Ben I mentioned to him that I could send him a copy of the USPS tracking document to prove I did sent but he declined because he was mailing me documentation to clear me of the charges.Desired Settlement: I just want to have the documentation so I could be clear once and for all of the charges. Since the day I mailed the items(06/0214)and according to the USPS tracking it was received on 06/05/14 at 7:22 am; this issue hasn't been resolved.

Review: I purchased a coin with American Mint back in January 2013 and paid the shipping and handling for $4.95 with my Bank Debit Card. I was later sent another coin in the month of February. I received a bill statement for $29.95 and then another statement for 39.95 for the same coin. On March 12, 2013, I returned the coin to American Mint. On March 18, 2013, I checked my account and noticed a charge for the amount of $39.95. I called to inquire about why this amount was deducted from my account and that I did not give them authorization to deduct these funds from my account. I asked to speak with the Manager and was put on a brief hold. The representative indicated that her manager was busy with other customers. I told the representative that I would be willing to hold for 20 minutes for the manager. The representative then put me on another brief hold. She came back to tell that the manager said I had to two options and that was to call back in an hour or someone would call me back within 24 hours. I told the representative that it is unacceptable that they have taken these funds without my permission. She said she would notate my account.Desired Settlement: I simply want my refund in the amount of 39.95 and would like to request that they remove my account information and do not send me any information from their company by mail, email, or any other contact.

My grandmother is 80 years old and has been diagnosed with dementia for the last 4 years. I am sure she received something in the mail and decided to get a pretty coin for the introductory price of $4.95...without reading the super fine print of being enrolled in the preview program. My issue is that NO RETURN LABEL comes with any items shipped. She is too ill to understand that she has to call, inform them that she doesn't want the preview items, provide an email address for them to send the return label, print the return label herself, and tape it to the package. Or that she needs to Google "American Mint return label" to find what she needs. She doesn't know her way around email and the web.
I was there with her the first time that she called to be removed from the subscription service and they have continued to send her package after package. They have been sending her stuff and HUNDREDS, if not THOUSANDS, of dollars later after I take over her Power of Attorney and her financial responsibilities can I finally get it to stop or at least get it sent back in time to not be charged. I'm still not a hundred percent sure that it will indeed stop. Very disappointed that they don't honor the original request for cancellation. It should not take 2 calls to be removed from an unwanted service.
Review: my wife received a offer for a to coin set along with a scratch off for possible discount and she had matching numbers and won an 80 dollar discount and her total price including shipping would be four dollars and 95 cents she ordered them 2 times and regular price was 89.95 soon after we received a bill for 89.95 called the company and they said I owe that much and I would pay that amount or they would turn me over to the collection department we would have not placed that order at a price of 89.95 since they are threatening to do that we also got another offer from them along with the same winning scratch off and same offer scam I put it in the trash they have deceived of and attempting to force to pay by threats I will not pay any more than agreed and company that does this should be forced out or business called by phone with no results aside from being ripped off I refuse to pat any more than agreed for others stay away from any offers with is companyDesired Settlement: keep what my wife paid for and drop all threats strong arm tactics and never send any offers to our house again !they are crooks

Review: I ordered a few products from American Mint and paid for them. Sometime in June I received a coin that I did not order and returned it to American Mint. By the time, the coin had been returned they sent another coin on 7/31/13. Again, I returned this coin. I was told by their representative that they had received the first coin. However, they are now saying I owe for the second coin and have sent me a notification that this will go to collections in 20 days. I have spoken to them twice on the phone and sent three notifications that I did not order the coin and will not pay for it. Last night, I spoke with a representative that told me they would have to sent me a claim notification in two weeks. However, their is no indication that they are stopping the collection notice. I have good credit and do not want it destroyed by them. I feel I should not have to wait 2 weeks for this form to resolve this matter. Please advise.Desired Settlement: I just want this bill corrected to show that I do not owe American Mint any money and I want the threat of damage to my credit removed.

Dear **. [redacted],
I am writing in reference to **. [redacted]’s complaint. We have received four introductory order forms in the mail from **. [redacted] in the month of July 2013. Every time an introductory order is placed, other merchandise from that corresponding collection is sent for preview with no obligation to purchase. This is outlined on every order form in our American Mint Satisfaction Guarantee. Enclosed is a copy of one of **. [redacted]’s order forms.
We do provide postage paid return labels upon request as it states on the reverse side of our “Returns Information Form” enclosed inside all of our packages. Our hours of operation, email address and toll free phone number are also located on this paperwork.
The first order we received was for a 1933 Gold Double Eagle Proof coin for $9.95. The second order we received was for an 1849 Liberty Head Double Eagle coin for $7.90. Another item, a 1794 Silver Dollar Replica coin, was sent along inside the same package for preview with no obligation to purchase. This item is outstanding for $89.95.
The next order we received was for a Liberty “L” coin for $12.90. This order introduced the “Liberty” coin collection. The last introductory order we received from **. [redacted] was for multiple coins; an Abraham Lincoln, an Action on McPherson Ridge, a Declaration of Independence, an 1841 Gold Coronet % Eagle, an 1861 Paquet Double Eagle, and a Ronald Reagan coin. We received total payment of $59.65. This order introduced several collections, including the “Presidents of the Republican Party” coin collection.
The next package that was sent was on 8/19/13 and included a Ronald Reagan coin from the “Presidents of the Republican Party” coin collection. This item was returned on 8/29/13. The last package shipped was sent on 8/30/13 and included an Immigration “I” coin from the “Liberty” coin collection. This item was returned on 9/12/13.
**. [redacted]’s complaint references that she returned two items to American Mint. We did receive two returns of the last two packages; a Ronald Reagan coin and an Immigration “I” coin. We urge **. [redacted] to check her collection to see if she has the 1794 Silver Dollar Replica coin. If a third package was returned and included this coin, American Mint will clear the outstanding balance. If the item is in her collection, we can issue a postage paid return label so that it can be returned. Enclosed is a copy of the account statement.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused **. [redacted]. Let me know if you need anything further. Thank you for your assistance in settling this matter.

I am rejecting this response because: I do not have this coin in my possession. I disagree that a postage mailing envelope was enclosed. With every coin I returned, I had to pay my own postage on it. I do remember there was a coin enclosed in the ones I purchased. I do not remember what it was but I was not interested in it because of the cost and returned it. There was no mailing envelope enclosed. I thought it was odd that the company had not sent a return envelop. This coin was returned along with the money for my purchase. I have checked and I do not have the coin that they indicate I owe.

Dear **. [redacted],
I am writing in reference to **. [redacted]’s complaint rebuttal. We have cleared her account with a “return loss” which indicates that the item was returned but lost in the mail en route to American Mint. Attached is a copy of the account statement, showing the account as settled.
Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused **. [redacted]. Let me know if you need anything further. Thank you for your assistance in settling this matter.

Review: Back on 08/10/2012 I sent in a order in the mail for a or some Statue of Liberty History, Liberty Unveiling, Liberty Enlightening and a Liberty Ket Ring and used my Cebit Card fro [redacted] I bank with for the amount of $85.90 which was $79.95 shipping and recieveing cost $4.95 which added up to the $89.95 and I never ever received the products, so I dispute it with my bank. After I got the paper work they sent me for me to fill out and to say I've never received the products and signed the paper and faxed it and mailed it back to American Mint and a copy to My [redacted] to [redacted] that was handleing this at [redacted] Bank. And then the next thing I knew My Bank called me and told me this was handle and told me when I would be Credited the $85.90 back into my Checking Account on 10/10/2012. American Mint charge the amount back to my Debit Card which went right back into my Checking Account. Now they are sending my letters trying to say they paid me back the $85.90 twice when they haven't and I'm not going to pay the $85.90 when I've never ever received the products and I signed the paper work they sent me to say I've never received the product, so how the [redacted] should I have to pay for something I've never received and they are not trying to say without any prove that they have paid me the $85.90 twice when they are not showing any prove and if they did I think [redacted] whould have known this and showed this to me and wouldn't have gave me the $85.90 5 months ago, and why is American Mint waiting 5 months before they are saying this?? Does not make any since. If American Mint had alreading paid the $85.90 back to my Bank then why did they sent it to [redacted] Bank and had me sign the paper work when they did if they had alreading sent my bank the $85.90 before that time?? They are just lieing to try and get the money back for the Products I've never ever received from American Mint and I'm sending them back all the paper work I have received from [redacted] showing everything and nothing is showing I've received to Credits back to my Debit Card from [redacted] Bank where My Debir Card Belongs too.Desired Settlement: If they don't leave me alone without prove by them or by [redacted] Bank then they need to quit HARRASSMENT and THREATENING ME I can and Will Put and 1 millon dollar Law Suite on American Mint and if they try to Report a Fake Report Against me with the Credit Report People and can and Will Put a 1 Billon Dollar Law Suite against American Mint!!!! If they had done this I would have known this and so would have [redacted] and they would have told me this and showed me this to let me know and wouldn't have Credit my Chaecking Account the $85.90

Review: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
I've only been refunded the $85.90 only once and that was it, so far as I know I Do Not Owe Them or Anybody Nothing. All I know my Bank called me and told me they they haven't never ever read anything from American Mint about refunding the $85.90 back to my Debit Card, so I called American Mint back and then found out that the person I talked to months ago never ever sent me the paper work they should have sent me to fill out to show I've never ever received the products and that's what I did and then my bank called me and told me they heard from them and I would receive the refund in a few days and that was all I've ever received. They need to show me prove because I don't know nothing except for what [redacted] has told me and that's it's. I'm not going to pay for something I don't have a [redacted] knowing what the [redacted] is going on. I just know I never received the products and then I saw the refund in my checking account and that's all I know and don't owe them nothing. They can show me prove or leave me along or I can and will SUE American Mint!!!!

I only know of ever getting one refund and that was it. I's looked into my checking account and with in the time they are talking about I've only received one refund of the amount of $85.90 now if the back took something they need to deal with them and not I!!! I only show one refund in that time frame. Now they need to leave me the hell alone or I can and will Put and Harassment LAW SUIT AGAINST AMERICAN MINT!!! They should not have charged my Debit Card for anything at all since I never ever ordered what the crape they sent me with out me placing the sh_____ Products that I've never ever ordered from them.
Review: They mail misleading ads for coins. As seems like customers can get coins for $5 plus shipping and handling cost. However, the send customer a $80 to $100+ bill with the product.Desired Settlement: This company should be not allowed to do any business.

Review: [redacted],
Some weeks ago I ordered and paid ($4.95) for ONE commemorative Coin celebrating the Emancipation Proclamation of 1863. With the coin I ordered, your company American Mint sent a second coin, which I had not ordered, commemorating Lincoln's Gettysburg address, and asked for $7.95 (shipping and handling incl.) if I wanted to keep the coin.
I should gladly have ordered and paid for the coin had I been allowed to do so of my own accord. Your sending it to me with the coin I did order, however, and asking me to pay for it smacks of an aggressive sales method of which I neither approve and haven't the slightest intention of becoming the victim.
There were two other anomalies in the order I received: a bill for $79.90, apparently due and owing, for I don't know exactly what, and the mention of two credits totaling $55.00 which I might use to purchase an additional coin that I did not request (value $59.00) but which credit must be used by May 10, 2013. The issuing date of your invoice which came with my shipment of the thing I did ordr was "05/09/13" and the invoice was sent to me I don't know how soon after that date. I received it yesterday 5/13/13, exactly 3 days AFTER the expiration of the credit your letter indicated I had been granted for purchase of the second thing you wished to sell me that I did not order. (There was also mention of a "FREE" Robert E. Lee, collector's addition Bowie knife included in the order I received, which was, in fact, NOT included. All this, [redacted], leads me to the belief that American Mint is at best a confused and mismanaged operation and at worst perhaps a fraudulent and illegal one.
Since I did not request the second commemorative coin you sent me, I can see no reason why I should have to pay for its shipment back to you. If you will be good enough to send me a prepaid return item envelope, I will send back the coin I did not order (a copy of my original order is attached). and that should be an end to the matter. I do not wish to order ANY of the other things you proffer..
Sincerely, [redacted]
CC;Desired Settlement: No billing or offers for items I did not order or receive.

Review: This is the second time I have addressed this problem. Find enclosed a copy of the check I mailed you last June which was deposited to your account 6/18/14.
Are you running a double scam; selling a cheap bauble for an outlandish price and then collecting for it twice? Also: the invoice price is 85.50. My check was for 90.45 my math says you owe me 4.95. plus interest from 6/18/14 to 11/4/14.Desired Settlement: Also: the invoice price is 85.50. 11/10/2014Dear [redacted],I am writing in reference to [redacted]’s complaint. We received an introductory order form in the mail from [redacted] on 1/29/14 for a free 1933 Gold Double Eagle Proof coin. We received payment of $4.95 for shipping and handling with check #[redacted]. Due to backorder, this package wasn’t shipped to [redacted]’s address until 2/25/14. This payment of $90.45 consisted of $79.95 for the coin, plus $10.50 in late fees. Since payment was received, the “Platinum Accented Eagle Replicas” coin collection continued. The next package was shipped out four days later on 6/17/14. This package contained a 1929 Half Eagle Indian Head coin. Review: My 10 years old son is a coin collector.
We ordered few coins from American Mint in the past.
One time last year they mailed us an offer that was too good to be true. I called them personally to make sure no hidden costs.
I paid $4.95 for shipping and handling as they asked and few days later we got the coin and the watch they offered for free.
I was smart enough to make a copy of the offer as I knew something is not right.
Few weeks ago they mailed my son a note from a collection agency demanding $87.45 for I have no idea what. Dunning Fees?? Collection NRA?
We never got or received anything from them after.
Please note it was no attempt to collect the money before!
Please advise.

I am rejecting this response because:
Over the weekend we have received for the first time the copy of the "agreement" we signed with American Mint. I am the one who read the agreement and signed it. They asked "to X out this paragraph". Very misleading. Why not to advise to "cross out" (vs X out) or a different and friendly way to easier to understand. I understood I need to place an X in the box next to "check/ money order enclosed" as I did not read it with much attention as I was not buying a home just a coin....
Review: This company some weeks in the past was sending an advertisement about certain replica coins. I responded to the ad because they said that if I paid postage for the coin, they would send the coin and that would be it. I responded to them and have received about 3-4 coins. Once you paid the postage of $4.95, the coin was yours. I sent them 4 checks for the different coins I had gotten from them. I sent them 2 for $7.90 and 2 for $4.95. They are now telling me to pay 4 times the value of what they advertise the coins. I told them to send me a return label and they could have the coins back. I did this and kept one of the coins because I paid the postage to keep it. When I sent the coins back they sent me a letter telling me I had to return this coin. I told them that I sent the other coins that I paid postage for and they told me that this coin was in a special category and I misunderstood the price for this one. They originally told me it was only $4.95 but now are trying to charge me for $79.Desired Settlement: I want them to let me keep this coin at the originally advertised price.

Dear **. [redacted],
I am writing in reference to **. [redacted]’s complaint. We received an introductory order form in the mail from **. [redacted] on 08/28/13 for a free Statue of Liberty commemorative coin. This package was shipped to **. [redacted]’s address on 08/30/13. Another item, a US National Anthem coin, was sent along inside the same package for preview with no obligation to purchase as it states on the order form in the American Mint Satisfaction Guarantee. American Mint issued monthly reminder notices to **. [redacted] for the outstanding balance of the US National Anthem. **. [redacted] had the option of returning the item during our preview period.
