I am writing in reference to Mr. [redacted]'s rebuttal. Mr. [redacted] filed an initial consumer complaint with the Revdex.com (“Revdex.com) on 10/23/2017. American Mint responded in a letter dated 10/24/2017 (hereinafter referred to as the “initial response letter). American Mint hereby restates and reincorporates its initial response letter by reference. Mr. [redacted] filed a rebuttal on 10/24/2017.We had attached an order confirmation form and a delivery confirmation letter for Mr. [redacted] with our initial response letter. This information showed that Mr. [redacted] placed an order with American Mint for the items described in our initial response letter and that they were delivered to his address. In his rebuttal, Mr. [redacted] nevertheless states that he never ordered or received the merchandise described in our initial response letter.Per this complaint, we have processed Mr. [redacted]'s account internally as a demand loss. We have cleared his account balance. Enclosed is an account cleared letter.Mr. [redacted]'s account has been closed out.We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused Mr. [redacted]. Dear **. [redacted],
I am writing in reference to **. [redacted]’s complaint for her father, [redacted]. **. [redacted] has been a customer of American Mints since 2003. He has been consistently ordering and collecting since 2011 by check. **. [redacted] states that...

“he says it was simpler for him to pay the credit card bill then to return the items.” She then states that American Mint is unethical and preying on her elderly father who is confused. Firstly, **. [redacted] does not have a credit card on file with American Mint. As shown on the account statement, everything has been paid via check. Also, American Mint does not know the age of their customers when orders are submitted.
Every time an introductory order is received, other merchandise from that corresponding collection is sent for preview with no obligation to purchase. This is outlined on every order form in our paragraph titled the American Mint Satisfaction Guarantee. This paragraph also states that the customer is under no obligation and any item may be returned at our cost during our preview period. A copy of one of **. [redacted]’s order forms is enclosed, as well as a copy of the account statement. As shown on the account statement, **. [redacted] has 112 invoices. He has paid for the majority of these items by submitting a check. He has never contacted American Mint to return an item or to cancel a collection.
**. [redacted] did contact us once on 9/10/13 to inquire about the invoice price ($1104.90 for a rare 1928-P Peace Dollar coin). Our representative informed him that it was the price listed. **. [redacted] stated he would think about it and make a decision. We promptly received this payment via check #[redacted] on 9/23/13.
On 2/20/14, we spoke with **. [redacted]. In response to this conversation, we cancelled all the active collections on **. [redacted]’s account and mailed a postage paid return label. We are uncertain as to what items **. [redacted] is requesting to return. Her complaint only lists 6 rarity gold coins but does not state the name of these coins. She also requests that the refund be issued to the credit card. As mentioned previously, there is no credit card on file on **. [redacted]’s account. On 3/5/14, we spoke with **. [redacted] again. At that time, the Customer Service Representative submitted a request for a refund check of $171.05 to be issued for overpayments. This refund check should be received in approximately three weeks.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused **. [redacted] and **. [redacted]. Let me know if you need anything further. Thank you for your assistance in settling this matter.
Sincerely,

03/21/2017Dear [redacted],I am writing in reference to [redacted]'s complaint. We received an introductory order form in the mail from [redacted] on 02/11/2017 for a Donald Trump coin. We received payment of $6.95 for shipping and handling with check #[redacted]. This package was shipped to [redacted]...

[redacted]'s address on 02/28/2017. Another item, a Ronald Regan coin, was sent along inside the same package for preview with no obligation to purchase as it states on the order form in the American Mint Satisfaction Guarantee. This paragraph also states “You will be billed only for the items you decide to keep. If you pay by credit card, future shipments will not be charged until 25 days after the invoice date. You are under no obligation! If you are not satisfied with any item that is shipped to you, you may send it back within 20 days at our cost for replacement, credit or refund. Enclosed is a copy of this order form. We do provide postage paid return labels upon request, as it states on the reverse side of our “Returns Information Form” enclosed in all of our packages. Our hours of operation, email address and toll free phone number are also located on this paperwork. We have never had any communication with [redacted], via telephone or mail, despite that We have sent out monthly reminder notices. We never received payment or a return of the Ronald Regan coin either. Thus, [redacted]'s account is past due for $85.16.[redacted]'s complaints state he was never able to get through to our customer service department. We are open Monday-Friday 8:00am–9:00pm EST and Saturdays 8:00am-6:00pm EST. We have no record of his call. Mr.[redacted] also states he sent back the coins however we do not have them in our office and did not provide a postage paid return label for him with tracking. He will need to file a claim with the provider he sent them back with since we did not provide the label. Until either the Ronald Regan coin is returned or paid the balance will remain open. If [redacted] still has the coins I have enclosed a postage paid return label so we are able to track his package and properly credit his account. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused [redacted]. Please let me know if you need anything further. Thank you for your assistance in settling this matter.SincerelySusan D.Director of Client Services

5/9/2017Dear [redacted]:I am writing in reference to [redacted]'s rejection of our response to his initial complaint. [redacted] submitted a complaint to the Revdex.com on 5/5/17. The case was assigned an ID of 12140348. In his complaint, [redacted] requested that American Mint cancel all of his invoices. American Mint explained in its 5/5/17 response letter that [redacted] did place an order on 2/21/17 for a Statue of Liberty Archival Edition coin. This coin was free and [redacted] was only required to pay $6.95 for shipping and handling. American Mint received payment in the amount of $6.95 from [redacted] via check # 0178. Furthermore, American Mint explained that [redacted] received the National Anthem Archival Ed. preview coin due to the fact that the American Mint customer satisfaction guarantee paragraph was not crossed out on the order form. This package was shipped to [redacted]'s address on 2/23/17. American Mint confirmed that [redacted] had refused this package and that at the time of American Mint’s initial response letter dated 5/5/17, the package was en route back to American Mint. Therefore, American Mint cleared [redacted]'s account balance and issued an account cleared letter. On 3/29/17, [redacted] placed a second introductory order in the mail with American Mint for a 1933 Double Eagle Archival Ed. coin. (The coin was $4.95, and the customer had to pay a $4.95 shipping and handling fee). The 1933 Double Eagle Archival Ed. coin was shipped to [redacted]'s address on 3/31/17. American Mint received a payment via check # 202 on 3/29/17 in the amount of $9.90. Therefore, American Mint issued a credit to [redacted]'s account in the amount of $9.90. In order to receive a refund for check # [redacted] will need to return the 1933 Double Eagle Archival Ed. coin.On 4/25/17, American Mint received another payment from [redacted] via check #201 in the amount of $9.90. American Mint then issued an additional credit to [redacted]'s account in the amount of $9.90. Check #201 was paid toward invoice ** associated with the first order received by American Mint from [redacted].On 5/8/17, American Mint received the return of the first package that [redacted] previously refused containing, among other things, the Statue of Liberty Archival Ed. coin and the National Anthem Archival Ed. coin. [redacted]'s account was therefore issued a credit in the amount of S96.90 and his account balance was later cleared.[redacted] makes a request in his rejection letter dated 5/917 for a refund for all three of his payments made. Per this new complaint, American Mint has issued a refund in the amount of $16.85. (This includes [redacted]'s payments via check *'s [redacted] and [redacted].) Please advise [redacted] that he should receive a refund check within 2-4 weeks. If [redacted] would like to receive a refund for check #[redacted], he will need to return the 1933 Double Eagle Archival Ed, coin.We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused [redacted]. Please let me know if you need anything further. Thank you for your assistance in settling this matter.Sincerely,Susan

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  However, I did not write a bad check as stated twice in the letter. A stop payment was applied, it was not an overdraft, a bad check, or insufficient funds, it was a stop payment to prevent American Mint from depositing the check and applying funds to an account that should not have had funds applied since the forgiven account was apparently not forgiven.
