Received email stating owed a debt. Clicked link and only had to verify name and creditor and then asked me to pay. I filed a complaint and stated to cease and desist. They proceeded to send me a second email further seeking payment. They have not violated my rights under the FDCPA.

As an initial matter, TrueAccord started in 2014 as a consumer-focused collection agency built to fundamentally change collections into a recovery and reconciliation process. One of our guiding principles is treating our consumer-customers with dignity and respect. We are licensed and bonded agency. TrueAccord is accredited with the Revdex.com. We maintain a fulltime, internal compliance department that established our policies and procedures to exceed the minimum regulatory requirements of the state, federal and local laws governing collections. Our in-house training program instructs our agents on these policies, including annual refresher courses.

We are sorry to hear that *** filed a Revdex.com Complaint against TrueAccord. We treat all complaints seriously and conducted a full investigation. We appreciate the opportunity to address ***’s concerns.

TrueAccord does not own the account referenced in ***’s complaint. The current creditor placed an account in ***’s name in our office for collection services on 12/3/2018.

After reviewing our records, it appears that *** received an email inviting him to view payment plans for this account. *** then visited our website, looked at the payment plans, and submitted a question on our help page asking about the process for filing a cease and desist request. It takes about 24 hours for emails sent to the help desk to be fully processed. Normally, any question about cease and desist would result in our office automatically ceasing and desisting all further communications. Before our system had the opportunity to process his question, it automatically sent an email inviting *** to view options based on his review of the payment plan page. *** clicked on the link in this new email and from the payment plan page and then unsubscribed his email address from our system. When a customer unsubscribes, the system immediately updates the account to a cease and desist status preventing future communications to be sent. This is immediate, unlike the help page which requires time for review of the question. We have not contacted him since receiving this unsubscribe message.

At this time, TrueAccord has ceased collections activity on this account and has returned it to the current creditor. If *** has additional questions about the account, he should feel free to reach out to the current creditor directly.

TrueAccord purchased an outstanding account balance of mine through LVNV Funding. They asked what I could afford to pay and we agreed on $25 per month and at the end of the agreement I would be discounted on the total paid back. I've paid on time every time since the agreement began. Then a couple of weeks ago I started to receive calls claiming to be LVNV stating I haven't been paying. I have the proof to show I've made every payment. I emailed TrueAccord and they responded once to say they turned the amount back to LVNV, no explanation included. I replied and haven't heard anything in over a week. I am extremely irritated that I finally had that amount right and passing on it, and they, for no reason, gave the account back.

TrueAccord does not own the account referenced in ***’s complaint. The current creditor placed an account in ***’s name in our office for collection services on February 2, 2018. *** agreed to a settlement agreement and had made 8 payments toward the settlement as agreed. We are in the process of working out a solution with the current creditor to resolve this matter to ***’s satisfaction. We would request an additional 15 days to resolve this complaint.

The people at True Accord are the easiest and very best to work with. They provide you with a number of options to pay off your accounts, and as long as you keep them current on any financial issues that you have that may impact future payments, they will understand and work with you.

I have never experienced such an easy debt collection process. Years ago I fell on some very hard times after being in the hospital for a year at age 19. Things snowballed so quickly and needless to say I ended up with a few things in collections that I am still cleaning up today. Usually I am scared to deal with collections companies due to how I am treated and shamed, but setting up a payment plan and managing my payments was so easy with True Accord.

Better way to pay your debt. I wasn’t pressured or bullied. And they made the terms easy and were very friendly

True Accord reached out to me via email about a charged off AMEX card that I had forgotten about. After my car accident I couldn’t work and didn’t have any money of my own for months. The email came around just as I started working full time again and it was easy to set up payment plans that worked for me. The only thing I would ask is different is if the companies that do credit scores, *** etc can update my credit line with every payment I make to TrueAccord.

I had to change my payment 2 different times and true accord associates were a lot of help guiding me through the steps to do that.

You guys were so easy to work with and the best part was no one was pushy and you worked with me instead of demanding I pay now, thank you so much for making this a different kind of debt collecting. (I cant believe I just thanked you! lol)

I was a irresponsible person and didn't pay off a simple card and my balance was turned over to trueaccord. They did email me and call me MANY times before I decided just to take care of it. They were very helpful and willing to work with me on my payments. I feel a lot better now that I have paid off my debt!

I had a debt with Golden Valley Lending and contacted them for my payment installments. I was late on my last payment but called Golden Valley to set up a resubmission. In the meantime, I received an email from TrueAccord for the last payment and a fee. I contacted Golden Valley and they informed me that it was a mistake that they made sending it to TrueAccord and that my last payment set up with them is my final payment and to ignore the TrueAccord email since they work for them. I have email documents that my loan is paid in full with a 0 balance. TrueAccord is trying to get a $300 fee from me. Golden Valley is telling me to ignore it and that I am paid in full. I don’t understand why TrueAccord is trying to get money from me. All my payments went through Golden Valley and they are satisfied with all my payment. Again I have documentation of all of this. I have informed TrueAccord of this and even gave them the name of the Golden Valley representative that told me to ignore them since it was a mistake. Again, I made all my payments to Golden Valley and not one payment to TrueAccord. Again, my balance is 0.

I had a debt that I tried taking care prior to it going to Collections. Never really worked out, I've spoken with a few reps at trueaccord and let me tell you they sounded horrible till I spoke with a guy name *** that man has been the coolest debt collector I have ever spoken too, and believe me I have spoken to a bunch! That young man explained everything even cracked a few jokes with me, he took the time to create a customized payment plan for me. I am writing this review for that young man he deserve a raise. Its people like him that make companies like these look great. I am looking forward to speaking with you when my next payment is due.

I like that the company is willing to work with you on payments. But I don't like that it doesn't report any payments to the three credit bureaus until you're finished paying.

I entered a payment arrangement agreement with this company to pay of a debt collection issue for ***, LLC. I paid the collection and the payment arrangements as indicated on the original terms of agreement. They were supposed to write off the remaining balance of $76 as part of that agreement. However my credit report is still showing that I owe this amount and when I filed a dispute through TransUnion it was rejected saying I still owe the money. This company has not held up to its end of the agreement even though I held up to mine. When I contacted them about this issue they sent me a link to yet another payment agreement! I should not have to pay them more money when I did what was asked of me originally.

We are sorry that *** filed a Revdex.com Complaint against TrueAccord. TrueAccord is a third party debt collector hired by *** to collect on an outstanding balance of $365.09 owed to them by ***. TrueAccord can confirm that *** settled her account in full on 9/17/2017. On 4/27/2018, TrueAccord reached out to *** to alert the creditor that the discounted amount still showed up on ***’s credit report as being owed. *** confirmed that same day that the “outstanding” amount would be deleted from ***’s account and that the change would be reflected in the next few weeks. TrueAccord would like *** to know that TrueAccord does not report to credit agencies.

I closed out an account with PNC bank, then (2 years later) have a $6 collection in "service fees" that were already, which were filed by this company. I received no mail notification at my forwarding address and the customer service was less than helpful or understanding. I attempted to dispute the charges which was a joke of a process and even did a three-way call between TrueAccord, and the TrueAccord representive had no customer service skills nor social grace. It took filing 3 complaints against the bank for them to even fix their mistake. Hopefully I will never have the displeasure of doing business with either companies again!
