Four months ago I tried to buy a sewing machine with my A+ rating on credit, which I had just paid off another sewing machine a few months before with GE Credit. All payments were on time, and no problems that I was aware of. The sales clerk called what is now known as Synchrony Bank and the woman on the other end of the line wanted to speak to me. She got very nasty with me, demanding what my income was without my husband's (of 40 years) income was. I began by telling her my social security. Then she got really nasty and told me I was breaking the law, before I had time to even finish my sentence, and wanted to talk to the sales clerk again. I do sewing for customers, and get payments. I also do a few other things, such as Web Designs. As the sales clerk pointed out to her this is a community property state. I have property in my name, yes even two cars! I'm not destitute, and far from it. Now, four months later, all of my credit cards are refused, and placed on "high risk" just because I am a married woman!! I have never been late with payments, and in fact pay off the bills myself. My husband came over to this incident while it was ongoing. We ended up getting the sewing machine credit through his credit rating and income. But now my credit is ruined through no fault of my own. I worked hard all of my life for this to come to nothing, and treated like a criminal. All the banks are the same, liars and crooks. I am more than mortified over what they have done to my life.
I am extremely annoyed with Synchrony Bank through PC Richards. Phone calls started about a month ago stating I was late on my payment. I was late because I couldn't access my bill on line. I informed the caller to please send me a paper copy and I'd happily update my account. I never received a paper copy, but multiple daily calls continued. When I answered the phone I had automated teller , I entered my zip code , it wasn't accepted. The line would drop. Extremely frustrated, this morning I waited for a person who could not deviate off his script, it was though you were talking to a robot! I also had a difficult time understanding what he was saying. I asked to speak to the manager and asked where they were calling from. The caller said, "INDIA" that to me is CRAZY! I paid entire bill and will try my best to NEVER have any dealings with SYNCHRONY BANK again!!!!!!!
This Bank is the absolute worst to deal with. First they hit me with over $2000. In interest at one time. When I called I was told by a non English speaking person that I did not keep with the agreement to pay off the entire amount by March 2015. The loan amount was $5000 in December of 2014. I explained that no one informed me about the payoff time and that it was the Doctors office that contacted there bank. If I had know that the entire amount of $5000 would have to be paid in 3 months I never would have agreed to it. It took several months to be able to make payments on line, because month after month I would call because I was locked out of there site. There customer service has no entire of what they're doing and they either hang up of transfer your call. This month I was also to.d that my card was reported stolen in Febrary of 2014, I asked how then can a Doctor get approved for such a large amount 10 months later. They take advantage of sick and weak people, do not use them.
Phone voice menu is horrible; takes forever to get a customer service representative and then they connect you to/back to voice menu. When I go to their online site a warning pops up for invalid certificate on safari and not secure on Chrome. Paid over the phone and took a chance and paid online. Payments were processed but balance did not decrease. This is totally unacceptable for a bank. I'll never use a promotional offer through this bank again; I'd rather just pay more than put up with the hassle.
I was surprised in reading this letter I received from Synchrony Bank, in Orlando. I had dental work done, about three years ago. "Our records indicate that your CARECREDIT/SYNCHRONY BANK account has been inactive for more then three years." Yes, I made a point of paying the bill off! Ok, it's been three years. I know, I believed I was being smart, keeping this CareCredit Credit Card for dental emergencies...being low-income. I have VERY good credit score, pay ALL my bills on time or early. I was appalled, yet laughed, in reading "We have closed your account due to prolonged inactivity.
This action has not resulted from your individual credit behavior. Your credit report will indicate Closed by Credit Grantor for this account." Why? Because you were not getting any money from me, not making any money off me, at this point in time?
I guess I insulted them, even though I was proud at not having to use them. It seems they are insulted, decided they didn't want to work with me since they were not collecting any money from me at this time. I know I will need it, teeth are showing wear, but I guess I will deal with that issue when it comes...may NOT be Synchrony Bank now. I guess I just have to use another credit card company who knows my worth!.
Recently I was informed that I was declined credit because of four delinquent reasons. First of all, I don't recall applying for anything and if I had I can't understand the denial. I have been given credit to buy furniture, borrow money and buy a car! Doesn't make any sense.
This company is terrible, absolutely no regard for their customers. I paid for 8 months on a surgery for my dog before I realized that they had been charging me late fees every month. It does state on the statements that payments are due by 5 P.M. on the due date, but there is no grace period and they will not work with the customer at all. I paid by the 4th of every month and was still charged $35 each time. Even if the 1st falls on a holiday, your payment is expected to be posted by the 5 P.M. deadline. The company does not provide any notification of multiple late payments unless the time period rolls to the next billing cycle. With my payments set up on bill pay, I had no idea they were adding late fees and they had no common courtesy to notice the constant late fees on my account and notify me about them. Completely selfish company. I will NEVER use them again for any purpose.
Synchrony. Bank ( keeps changing names probably because of the negative ratings) is the worst excuse for credit ever. Apparently they give credit to lots of deadbeats and treat good credit customers as they do the bad ones. I paid my bill in full each month and was NEVER late. They took my cash rewards check because I was unhappy with their website. I requested assurance that before I cancelled my account I would get my rewards check. I was cut off. When I called back I was told that my account was cancelled and that my rewards for 10000 of purchases was forfeited.
I opened a line of credit to finance an elliptical workout machine from 2nd Wind. They sent me a credit card and account number with no mention of the exercise store, and I did not recognize it when I received it in the mail. I tried calling their customer service number to get more information, but no one could tell me anything about my account other than the date it was opened. I was also repeatedly disconnected and had to call back in multiple times. I ended up putting in a fraud claim and closing the account. Only after this was completed did someone tell me that it was related to my excercise equipment, so they opened another account for me. Since then, I have tried to call in and get information about my account, but every time I call, I get disconnected before I can talk to a person. The fact that my card did not come with a full description of the terms and conditions seems very shady to me, coupled with the fact that I get disconnected every time I call customer service.
HAS NO ONE STARTED A CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST THESE IS????
I was a customer of QVC for decades then these pirates took over. Three payments in a row were all 'returned' - within the same 30 days. I used the same routing and account numbers I've used successfully there for years. I had verified in advance that my checking account did indeed have more than enough in it to clear the payment - each time. THEY SENT ME A LETTER CANCELLING THE ACCOUNT! That would be bad enough, but the same thing, same checking account, same verification happened with Belks. Now I find out that several other accounts I have are in the same cycle. Surely these stores will realize these fools are damaging their business.
I received a letter from Synchrony Bank about a credit card they say I applied for, and the applicable interest rates. Since I had not applied for a credit card from Sam's Club or Synchrony, I wanted to report it to them as fraudulent.
The Synchrony Fraud Department representative kept stating incorrect information about the reported fraud, and I asked for a 'Supervisor'. The Supervisor, who's name was BJ (just initials), tried to confirm that the credit card application was not accurate and also left me unsatisfied as to any resolution that would take place. After hanging up with BJ the Supervisor, I received a phone call from the same person, BJ the Supervisor, indicating that she needed to verify my address so that the credit card being processed for me was sent to the right location. I advised her that I had just talked to her about the fraudulent credit card application. She was either part of the fraud/scam activity, or, she and the initial Fraud Department representative were not very competent.
After researching Synchrony Bank, formerly GE Capital Retail Bank, I found that more than two-thirds of all the 'reviews' about Synchrony were negative. And after my interaction with them, I was compelled to alert others to this fiasco.
I just got a letter from Synchrony Bank telling me my email address is incorrect. The letter says the bank is unable to notify me regarding my QCARD bill. I don't what they're talking about. My email address is correct everywhere they listed and has been the same for years...By the way, called QVC customer service and was given a phone number for Synchrony Bank, guess what... the phone number is a temporary one and is no longer in service. What kind of bank is this???? Dumb Dumb Dumb
I called the customer service number (800-250-5411) and obtained a very poor connection to "[redacted]" in India. He kindly gave me the same number above saying that he could not help me. I called back and was connected with "[redacted]" in India. [redacted] also gave me the 800 number above. When I explained that if I called the number, it would be the third call and I would likely get the same result. She suggested that I call anyway. I asked to be transferred and was given to a woman in the US. This woman also could not help as I did not have a power of attorney for the deceased person I was calling about (POA not valid after death). Thankfully, she transferred me to the 4th person, also in the US who was very helpful.
I have used GE Capitol Retail Bank for consumer financial accounts for several years. My experience has always been very positive. Several of my credit card accounts are funded and managed by GECRB and have been great to work with.
Filled out application correctly. Furniture delivered to correct house. Received a Synchrony credit card at correct address. Never received a bill until I called them about no bill. It was then that they told me they had the wrong address. It sounds like a racket to make my payment late, and add a late fee.I beat the late fee by calling them, but it was only pure luck and curiosity that saved me. I will never deal with Synchrony again.
I recently had the unpleasant experience of attempting to resolve an issue with Synchrony Bank with is affiliated with the Gap credit card. I previously had my email statements forwarded to my work email. However, I left my job last year on January 2015. I thought I had corrected the email address to my personal email. I finally received a paper statement with two late charges for total of $60 for a mere $27.15 purchase in November 2015. The CS agent agreed to remove only $35 late charge. I made the balance payment online. I checked the website to see if the payment information had been updated together with the removal of the late charge and NO CHANGE. This experience has proved that the credit card companies are racking up on exorbitant late charges and interest charges to increase their profits. I am not recommending this card to family or friends.
I was always happy with my BP card from Chase. It has been night and day since being taken over by Synchrony. The card has been frozen several times when used within our normal purchasing patterns. It takes forever to get a real person on the line. Synchrony doesn't seem to give a damn about customer experience or inconvenience. We are one issue away from cancelling our cards after being BP cardholders for over 7 years.
I was looking for a spot to save some money where it wouldn't be tied up in investments, but could be used as a supplement to my checking in case I needed an unexpected amount of funds I could pull from without impacting my portfolio. Synchrony's HYS was a great solution, offering industry leading rates along with FDIC backing and an A+ Revdex.com rating. Very happy with my experience. The negative reviews I see on Revdex.com seem to stem mainly from lines of credit rather than the savings options with which I am extremely satisfied.
Very difficult to get in contact with. Can't believe GE recommended them.
I make multiple payments each month on my Sams Club Mastercard account with Synchrony Bank. Last Sunday I went to sign in and I was locked out of my online account. I fgured it was just a glitch so waited a few hours then tried it again with the same locked out results. I called the bank and was told that my Sam's Club private label credit card had been compromised but that was even after I had to receive a 5 digit code on my cell phone to repeat to the agent. When I first called in the auto system said immediately that it had matched up my account with my phone #...I get security but let's not get ridiculous about it. And what fradulent person calls the bank to complain about not being able to make a payment? Anyway the only solution to this problem is that I must present myself at a Sam's Club customer service and they have to call Synchrony from the store so the associate can identify not only themselves but check my ID and my face to make sure it's me. End of problem? not in the slighteest...only the beginning of a very bad experience with their non-customer service. I have never been through such a circus and still not have the problem resolved. After being transferred multiple times and the associate doing as they were told and issued my a new private label card and changing the # by 1 digit I went shopping for a minimal amount, go to the check stand and my card is declined. Using another card I paid and left. I called again to non-customer service only to be told by persons who obviously did not grow up speaking English that the reason was they were disconnected on the call from the store. I said that absolutely did not happen that the call and the transaction of issuing me a new card was completed and good-byes were said. Well tough luck Mr Customer in order to resolve the issue you must present yourself at the club store with your ID.....now for the 2nd time. I drive over there again (25 miles round trip) associate calls and we go through the same process....multiple transfers resulting in no resolution. This is the biggest farce I have ever been involved in with any business of any kind. I even called Sam's Club corporate offices in Arkansas and two different ladies tried to call on my behalf but everytime they got connected with the bank they were disconnected immediately. Accident? I think not! Synchrony bank has tied the hands of their customer service people but not allowing the front lines to fix the problems as they come up. And dealing with those people on the phone is like they are reading from a script. When they can't help you they just repeat the same thing over and over. I finally spoke with a very intelligent lady named Linda yesterday who said at first she couldn't resolve my issue but she kept trying and put me on hold a couple of times they VOILA!! she did it for me! She is wonderful and she get a job with a reputable organization and they would not be Synchrony Bank. I don't need a phone call from 'the' team...I hopefully will never have to speak that organization again! I like the rebate program on the Mastercard but other cards have rebate programs too. I have a FICO score of over 800 so it's not like I'm desparate to do business with this company. Oh and speaking of the rebate I asked for a check only to find out they only issue rebate checks one time a year in February so just sit there and wait while they hang on to my money! Just another of the lying cheating ways! Opps, I was trying so hard not to say that......oh and by the way Synchrony Bank, not only have I selected that this is a negative review and that I would never recommend anyone ever to get involved with you as a bank, I was standing at the customer service counter in Sam's yesterday and anytime someone came up while was on hold with your people I recommended that they not get the card as that is why I was on the phone there with the bank because of the difficulty in dealing with you.
