I keep getting a want to be bill from Austin American-StatementsOne, I never signed up for this serviceTwo, I told who ever you had calling my house asking if I could make a payment to note on the account I never signed up for this serviceI guess they failed to do document thatLet me make it very clear, I DIDN'T SIGN UP FOR THIS SERVICEI DON'T WANT YOUR PAPER WEIGHT NEWS PAPERI NEVER DID, THUS THE REASON WHY I NEVER SIGN UP FOR THE SERVICE IN THE FIRST PLACE
Repeatedly (multiple times a week) my newspaper is either not delivered or delivered partially (on Friday I got a single section of the paper)The Austin American Statesman has repeatedly offered only the following feedback: (1) we'll look into it (2) you can have a small credit for today, but it is only enough to cover 1/6th of the cost of buying a replacement paper (3) we won't redeliver your paper because you have to notice our errors really early in the day for us to redeliver and also (4) *hanging up or not replying to complaints*
It's infuriating, and I have told them not to renew my service when all my "credits" run out, but delivery consistency appears to be GETTING WORSE
Both my neighbors are getting their papers - I see the paper on their driveways when I find that mine is missing or incompleteThere is no doubt that their delivery staff is now screwing with my paper intentionally because of the prior complaints
Statesman needs to formally apologize for this har
I was unable to find an option for cancelling my newspaper subscription at the Austin American Statesman website, so I emailed customer service on August 19th to cancel my subscription immediately I received an email reply the next day; however, the message indicated "This is not a cancellation confirmation." Checking my account status online, I continued to see my account listed as "active." I mailed a letter on August 23rd asking why my clear instructions had not been followed and for a second time asking that my account be closed and any unfulfilled portion of my subscription be refunded to me I received no response to my letter, and on September 16th, the Austin American Statesman processed an unauthorized payment (which I have disputed) to my USAA credit card of $
This are dishonest business practices to entrap former subscribers and offer no way for them to cancel their former service

On March 16th I was approached from an individual representing the American Statesman at an HEB kiosk
He was promoting the paper for Wednesday - Sunday for $monthly He offered a $gift card
and a one time subscription fee for $2.99, with my delivery to start 04/15/since I would be out of town
On March 17th my account was charged $( not what I agreed to)
I called to Cancel on 03/17/2016, Spoke with a rep who stopped the subscription and was advised to keep the gift card for the inconvenience of having to call into cancel and I would be issued the refund
I did get an email confirmation from *** *** stating I would receive a full refund $in 3-business days
On March 24,I did not receive the refundI called in and spoke with a supervisor named *** who stated that it was the end of business and she would have to reach out to her accounting team and follow up with me the next day That di
The Statesman has taken over $from my bank account without any authorization
In Oct**er a salesman came to my door offering a 2-month special on Sunday-only subscriptions He said that it was just for the months and there would be no recurring charges I agreed to the one-time charge and paid by check I asked the salesman to write on the receipt that there would be no recurring charges, which he did In addition, on the receipt there was a signature line to sign to authorize recurring payments I did not sign I have a copy of this receipt, and I have sent it to customer service
In November, the Statesman started charging me $per month I didn't notice the charge -- I thought it was for a TV channel subscription And we only got a couple of papers during that time, which I assumed were to make up for the multiple papers we missed during the subscription we paid for We paid for Sunday papers over months, and that's about how many we have received durin
The Austin American Statesman advertises startup rates and requires potential subscribers to agree to extensions beyond the startup period at current rates which are significantly more expensive I agreed to startup a subscription based on a rate advertised and only for the period contracted without any automatic extension of the contracted rate The newspaper was delivered for the contracted period and then continued beyond the contracted period I did receiver letters from the Austin American Statesman which apparently were invoices for an extension which I trashed without opening as I did not want to extend the subscription beyond the contracted period The paper was delivered for approximately months Then I received an invoice from them that stated tha I owed them #30+ dollars for the delivered paper I contacted Customer Service at the Austin American Statesman trying to resolve the issue, but was told that if I did not pay they would send the bill to collections I ha
I have contacted the American-Statesman at least times in the last years regarding delivery of the weekend "Shopping" edition to request stopping delivery of this unsubscribed package of adsThe Statesman will comply but only for a short time before we start receiving the ads againI view these as garbage which must be retrieved and disposed ofThe household has a member with a medical condition and having trash thrown into our yard causes that household member to have to leave the house to literally pick up trash that we have politely requested NOT be thrown on our yardThrowing garbage on our yard, especially when someone may not be available to clean it up, alerts thieves that we are not home or are otherwise vulnerableThis is a security and safety issue that must be addressedWe cannot go on a vacation because of the likelihood that the Statesman will deliver garbage to our driveway alerting others to our absenceThis is not acceptable
The Austin American-Statesman has by far the worst customer service I have ever come across in a businessI have been trying to simply unsubscribe from the multiple emails I receive every dayThe link on their emails takes you to an expired webpage and after speaking with different "customer service" reps, and sending emails to multiple departments I'm still receiving the emails! Apparently they can't fix it so now my work email will continue to receive these annoying emails every dayIt's borderline harassment at this pointI've read many other reviews that told the same story so I think it's part of their strategy to lock in "subscribers." I've reached out so many times over the past months and every time they say that I'll hear from their "tech support team" but it has never happened

Austin American Statesman repetitively does not deliver our ordered newspaper despite our numerous calls in to customer service to report daily missed deliveries At this point we have missed more deliveries than we have even received We moved from Houston to Austin and in Houston we ordered the Houston Chronicle for about years and had good service We are horrified by the current delivery service and have put so much effort in to get the paper delivered but they just disregard our calls, lie to us by telling us we will get a re-delivery when we call in before 9am to report the missed delivery and just don't deliver the 1st delivery nor 2nd attempt, even when we call in before am to report the nondeliveryThe service rep always says that a replacement will be delivered same day but the deliverer never delivers that either The delivery of paper stops for about to days, after daily calls we may get a delivery or two or up to days on a couple rare occasions, then it sto

I began service with this newspaper on FEB 2017, asked that my email not be used for solicitation purposes (my request was verbally acknowledged but not honored), and received a $gift card for HEB (which were both replaced since the original two cards had a $balance) I never received my newspaper at a my apartment complex, so I called to cancel my subscription The company offered a week's worth of credit (I believe they essentially just postponed my payment date by a week and did not actually refund anything) and assured me they would contact the supervisor for my route So I allowed them another chance I received a total of three newspapers (FEB, MAR, MAR 2017) Nothing has been delivered since Today is MAR 2017; I called to cancel my subscription today and the newspaper again assured me they would speak to the supervisor and ensure continued service I said no thanks They asked if I used the online service feature, to which I said no and that it was hard for me to do so since I work in a secure facility where I cannot have electronics I asked for a refund of the $($paid so far minus $for the three newspapers which are listed at $2.00/paper) I am disappointed that I had such bad delivery issues with this company, gave them a second chance, but am no longer interested in doing business with them The customer representatives (professional and helpful) seemed to be the only positive experience I had with this company
