Repeatedly (multiple times a week) my newspaper is either not delivered or delivered partially (on Friday I got a single section of the paper)The Austin American Statesman has repeatedly offered only the following feedback: (1) we'll look into it (2) you can have a small credit for today, but it is only enough to cover 1/6th of the cost of buying a replacement paper (3) we won't redeliver your paper because you have to notice our errors really early in the day for us to redeliver and also (4) *hanging up or not replying to complaints* It's infuriating, and I have told them not to renew my service when all my "credits" run out, but delivery consistency appears to be GETTING WORSE Both my neighbors are getting their papers - I see the paper on their driveways when I find that mine is missing or incompleteThere is no doubt that their delivery staff is now screwing with my paper intentionally because of the prior complaints Statesman needs to formally apologize for this har
We have been trying for over months to cancel the subscription to the newspaper Every time we call they say it either has been done.....or they are doing it “now” Then my next credit card statement comes and another months charges I had already told them I wanted credit for the last 3-months bills......now its MONTHS credit I want We’re very angry about the lack of commitment and follow through
I have not received my paper through home delivery in over a monthI have logged complaints through automated calls, e-mails, and telephone calls with no indication they are pursuing a resolutionI received a call from a supervisor ( [redacted] ) who did nothing
Receiving a newspaper at my house called "Ahora Si"It is a Spanish newspaper publication who's parent company is the Austin American StatesmanMy complaint is two foldFirst of all, I did not subscribe to this publication, it is being delivered to my house without my permissionSecondly and most importantly, when I called the phone number listed in the newspaper to stop delivery, the recording stated that I have to leave my first and last name, address (expected this one), phone number, and my email addressThis is all personal information and should not be asked for to stop a newspaper subscriptionEspecially one that I did not ask forI feel Ahora Si and the Austin American Statesman is violating privacy rights by requiring the information to stop deliverythe number I called which is listed in the newspaper is [redacted] Please investigate if Ahora Si and the Austin American Statesmen are violating privacy rightsThanks
It has been almost weeks that I have been calling and emailing this company regarding my refund in the amount of $($+ $32.00)I keep getting told that they will not give me a refundI have been on hold for over minutes each time I call, requested to talk to managers, corporate, etcbut to no availAll anyone tells me is that they have put in my requestI have even talked to someone with Gate House Media (the company that supposedly bought the Austin American Statesman)When asked to speak with a manager there, the rep [redacted] tells me that her "supervisor" was on the phoneYeah rightShe also lied and told me that there wasn't a direct number to call back when I clearly Googled and called the number the day before About weeks ago I was approached by a rep in my apartment complex who gave me what I am beginning to believe is a BS story about how he needed to meet his quotaMe trying to help him out I sign upHe tells me that I can get Sunday papers for
The Austin-American Statesman did not deliver my paper for about 5 weeks in the middle of my subscription period, but refuses to issue credit for more than 2 weeks, even though they said that they will issue credit for the full amount. They don't send invoices, and their website did not let me log in, their phone number did not work, and their emails said they will respond within 48 hours, but they did not respond for 6 days. Since I complained 14 days after the paper stopped, and not earlier, they are maintaining that 14 days was too late. Nothing in their contract stipulated that it should be done quickly. I also complained repeatedly, until finally delivery restarted. Their first contact and their manager had different stories from each other, and their manager's record of events did not match up with the emails that I got (or did not get from them). For example, they said that I emailed them on June 14, but my records show June 12, 2016. Their first contact perso
The complaint also consist of Advertising On March 16th I was approached from an individual representing the American Statesman at an HEB kiosk He was promoting the paper for Wednesday - Sunday for $monthly He offered a $gift card and a one time subscription fee for $2.99, with my delivery to start 04/15/since I would be out of town On March 17th my account was charged $( not what I agreed to) I called to Cancel on 03/17/2016, Spoke with a rep who stopped the subscription and was advised to keep the gift card for the inconvenience of having to call into cancel and I would be issued the refund I did get an email confirmation from [redacted] stating I would receive a full refund $in 3-business days On March 24,I did not receive the refundI called in and spoke with a supervisor named [redacted] who stated that it was the end of business and she would have to reach out to her accounting team and follow up with me the next day That di
Austin stateman sends us the weekly Shopping newspaper even though we've never requested it and have twice requested them to stop deliveryI emailed their customer care in November and December and received a written response that our address was removed from receiving the paper, but we are still receiving the newspaperWe never requested it, it just started last year sometimeWe have requested that they don't send us the paper, they've confirmed that we've been removed for deliveries, but we're still getting the newspaper
I was suckered into a subscription by some lady in an HEB giving out gift cards for subscribingA few days ago I called their support and kindly asked them to cancel my subscriptionThis morning I saw in my account they had charged me for another month of service, and according to their website, I am scheduled to be charged again next month! What the f! I have contacted my bank to make sure they won't be able to charge me again This can't be f!ing legal ***
The Statesman is atrociousThis company has lied to me, failed to deliver service, wasted my time, and stolen from me Their salesman at HEB told me they were now offering HEB coupons that would save me 40-80% on all my groceries; there are no HEB coupons whatsoever, just adsIt was the only reason I purchased the subscription They, or whoever they contract, have failed to deliver the paper more than 25% of the time I had to waste an unacceptable amount of time holding on the phone and dealing with an automated system to get to customer service both to report delivery failures and cancel this terrible service Worst of all, two weeks after I cancel the service, they charge me for another monthI call again and request cancellation and a refund again, and they tell me that they can't apply the credit back to my card; they'll mail me a check that will arrive in to weeks I can't wait for this company to die
In early January, I paid for a year's subscription (days a week) to the Austin American Statesman The price was $257, a 37% increase from the year before, even though I have been a subscriber for over years I got a letter from the woman who delivers my paper around January 14th, telling me that she was retiring Therefore, I knew that there was a new person doing the job I received the paper efficiently for the next weeks Then on January 26th, I did not receive the paper I called the Statesman and spoke to [redacted] around 1:P.M He assured me that I would receive the paper the next day I did not get the Saturday paper and tried to call customer service, and I emailed customer service To get a redelivery, you must call by 9:A.M I am years old, and I have sleep issues, requiring Ambien I never get up by 9:A.M I did not get a return phone call and received an email the next day when I checked my computer The response was basically "
I've tried to cancel my subscription to the Austin American Statesman starting with an email to their customer care on 6/5/and again today on 6/12/18, and no reply that they received my email or have cancelled my subscription I've call over times over the past days to try to cancel and every time I call, any chose any directory option to cancel or talk to a customer care rep the calls drop There is no way to talk to anyone with their phone directory and no way to cancel online that I've found If it's a phone issue, I can't believe its been dropping calls for over a week It appears the Statesman is purposely trying to avoid taking consumer calls, especially cancellations
I have contacted the American-Statesman at least 4 times in the last 2 years regarding delivery of the weekend "Shopping" edition to request stopping delivery of this unsubscribed package of ads. The Statesman will comply but only for a short time before we start receiving the ads again. I view these as garbage which must be retrieved and disposed of. The household has a member with a medical condition and having trash thrown into our yard causes that household member to have to leave the house to literally pick up trash that we have politely requested NOT be thrown on our yard. Throwing garbage on our yard, especially when someone may not be available to clean it up, alerts thieves that we are not home or are otherwise vulnerable. This is a security and safety issue that must be addressed. We cannot go on a vacation because of the likelihood that the Statesman will deliver garbage to our driveway alerting others to our absence. This is not acceptable.
I signed up the newpaper for a special they had on DecMy account was billed on Dec I did not pay attention when I stopped receiving the paper because I figured that the period had expired and I had not responded to the mail so I was no longer receiving the paper Then in Mar I was reviewing my bills and saw that I had been changed $on Feb16, But I was not receiving the paper and had not renewed my request for services So I called and told them I was not receiving the paper and did not wish to renew serviceI was told they would refund my money, then on Mar14th I had $deposited into my account I called the paper again and told them I wanted the full amount refunded; this I believe on Mar15th., I spoke to someone named [redacted] and she said $would be refunded in the next -days I waited and on April 6th I called again because I still had not gotten my reimbursement I first talked to [redacted] a and I told her I was extremely
I have been told by this company that a refund in the amount of $will be credited me, but it has been going on months, and I still do not have a refund. I have contacted them multiple times, and each time I am told that it typically takes to business days; the latest states 10. My last contact with them was on June 13, two weeks ago today. Following is their typical response dated June 13, 2018: Good Morning , Thank you for contacting the Austin American-Statesman. I apologize for the inconvenienceThe form has been sent to our tier department and we are just awaiting them to apply the refund at this point , I do not have an exact date as of now normally a refund can take up to business days Thank you for contacting the Austin American-Statesman
I am writing regarding the service I received from Austin American Statesman, account #880400. 9/19/16 non delivered paper not credited on subsequent billing statement. When called re: the non credit on bill, I was told I had a debit of $10.49. I was told this was due to charges for "premium" days varying from $2 to $2.99. I was not told what days were Premium days , nor how they came up with the $10.49, but that the charge was subtracted from the days I had paid up , and the due date was pushed back to account for that amount due. This was not reflected anywhere on my bill, and I suspect I have paid for these "premium" days before unknowingly.I was told that Page 2 in very tiny print notifies of these deceptive charges, without giving the customer the choice of opting out! I believe that I have been deceptively charged for services I have not asked for,nor have I been notified of these charges at all on my billing statement! In addition, I have not been credited for non delivered papers. I have cancelled my subscription due to these unscrupulous business practices.I contacted Kristin ( Dallas office) i.e. would not give me her last name on Oct. 31,2016 and explained that the service was unsatisfactory.I told her it was deceptive to notify customers of extra charges in small print in paper where no one ever reads, whether they ask for them or not, and then subtly push back due date without ever explaining that it reflects these "premium "charges. No where on statement! Nor was it ever reflected that non delivered papers have ever been credited! Their (Kristin-supervisor and Michelle-local rep.) response was they were sorry I felt this way, but offered no credit or solution to the problem. They never explained why these extra charges were never reflected on billing statement, only that due date is pushed back to reconcile for extra charges. Failure to receive an appropriate response to this problem has prompted me to write directly to you. I appreciate your assistance regarding my complaint. I'm sure there are many customers who have been unknowingly billed for services they did not want nor ask for. Thank you,
