I have unsubscribed from email news and alerts from the Statesman at least times, yet I keep getting email spam from them I've also accessed my account to be sure that all newsletters, alerts, etc have been turned off I'm filing a complaint against the Statesman for not unsubscribing me from their spam
The Statesman has taken over $from my bank account without any authorization
In Oct**er a salesman came to my door offering a 2-month special on Sunday-only subscriptions He said that it was just for the months and there would be no recurring charges I agreed to the one-time charge and paid by check I asked the salesman to write on the receipt that there would be no recurring charges, which he did In addition, on the receipt there was a signature line to sign to authorize recurring payments I did not sign I have a copy of this receipt, and I have sent it to customer service
In November, the Statesman started charging me $per month I didn't notice the charge -- I thought it was for a TV channel subscription And we only got a couple of papers during that time, which I assumed were to make up for the multiple papers we missed during the subscription we paid for We paid for Sunday papers over months, and that's about how many we have received durin
A nice, seemingly earnest young man came to our front door trying to earn money for schoolFor $we would receive a coupon book and a few Sundays of the Austin American StatesmanI had compassion for him and wrote out a check for $ He left the coupon book, but no newspapers ever came, which was fine by me as I didn't want them anywayAbout 4-months later we finally noticed that $a month had been deducted from our account at least times I called the bank and put a stop on any more deductions from the newspaper which were never agreed to or authorizedAnd in addition, months later we never received a single newspaper or any type of bill or correspondenceI considered letting it go until they called me at my work place times in days and have now sent me another bill by mail
I subscribed to Austin American Statesman in an effort to get information about the state officesOnce I realized this organization had nothing to do with the state offices I started my initial unsubscribing effortsI continue to receive multiple emails a day from this organization and I continue to reply to their emails demanding day remove me from their listThey have yet to remove me and it is maddening and frustrating to continue to receive these publications since I no longer request them, need them, or want them They need to fix their unsubscribe option to truly be and and subscribe option so that individuals can be removed from their publications instead of receiving notification that you have been unsubscribed and yet continue to receive their emails
I was suckered into a subscription by some lady in an HEB giving out gift cards for subscribingA few days ago I called their support and kindly asked them to cancel my subscriptionThis morning I saw in my account they had charged me for another month of service, and according to their website, I am scheduled to be charged again next month!
What the f!
I have contacted my bank to make sure they won't be able to charge me again
This can't be f!ing legal

The Austin American-Statesman has by far the worst customer service I have ever come across in a businessI have been trying to simply unsubscribe from the multiple emails I receive every dayThe link on their emails takes you to an expired webpage and after speaking with different "customer service" reps, and sending emails to multiple departments I'm still receiving the emails! Apparently they can't fix it so now my work email will continue to receive these annoying emails every dayIt's borderline harassment at this pointI've read many other reviews that told the same story so I think it's part of their strategy to lock in "subscribers." I've reached out so many times over the past months and every time they say that I'll hear from their "tech support team" but it has never happened
I have been a subscriber for many years of this worthless paper Why? I have no idea Nonetheless, I subscribe to a Wednesday/Sunday newspaper delivery service Over the last months or more, I may have actually received a month's worth of physical newspapers delivered to my home on the right day Over the past several weeks, I do not get my Wednesday or Sunday paper I contact the Statesman and their response is the same "We are sorry for the inconvenience We will get a paper re-delivered." That re-delivery never happensI then have to call another time and they give me a credit Right now my subscription goes to January and I pay on a monthly basis And its only November! I have reached out via email, telephone and now the Revdex.com It's not a hard thing to do to deliver my paper I will also be filing a fraudulent claim
I received a bill last September and paid the amount that according to the bill would extend my account through 9/16/ However, I learned today that my account is paid only through 9/1/(newspapers short) because the Statesman charges extra for premium content that is delivered with the paper that I did not order and have no way to stop This is a misleading business practice affecting all subscribers, not just me The bill should either include all premium content for the given price, or give the subscriber the option to receive it or not
I have issues with walking due to four knee surgeries, multiple heart issues including three heart ablations and now a heart attack on June 20, Because of the heart, have trouble walking any distance without becoming short of breath Bad knees make walking a distance painful
We canceled our paper after one day of service on 1/31, since then we have requested our refund times of We have recieved one refund of 2/12/ Even after talking to management they refuse to refund saying we have received the paper since which we have not We need this resolved ASAP and are getting nowhere with calling them so please help us
My credit card was charge $on 11/01/( The subscription fee for one year) The subscription was canceled on 11/15/and was told a refund would be issued for $ The refund was never issued and five phone calls have all been ineffective
Last year on 10-24-I called the AA Statesman to complain that my newspaper was consistently being thrown in the culvert on either side of my driveway It is still being thrown in the culvert despite many calls over the last year and talks with many Subscriber Relations people and several managers They promised many times to notify the delivery manager, then finally in August they promised to send out a delivery tube & pole and someone to install it After calls the tube and pole are not here On the last call on 10-13-they said I was mistaken about them installing the tube, but that they would send the tube out The service manage said she would notify the corporate office No tube, no feedback to date Today my paper was ripped and thrown in the mud about feet from my driveway, obviously a form of harassment because of my continuing complaints and insistence on the delivery tube
About four weeks ago I received a phone call from someone who said they worked for the Austin American Statesman telling me they wanted to throw the Sunday paper to me for free for three months I received my first Sunday paper and then received a bill from the Statesman for three months of Sunday papers I received a second Sunday paper and then I called their office I explained about the man who called me and that I didn't want the paper at all I was put on hold for a long time and when the person came back she told me they didn't have that type of special going on right now and they would stop throwing the paper Then I received a bill for the two papers they did throw I am so angry I'm not paying for something I didn't want
I have been told by this company that a refund in the amount of $will be credited me, but it has been going on months, and I still do not have a refund. I have contacted them multiple times, and each time I am told that it typically takes to business days; the latest states 10. My last contact with them was on June 13, two weeks ago today. Following is their typical response dated June 13, 2018:
Good Morning ,
Thank you for contacting the Austin American-Statesman.
I apologize for the inconvenienceThe form has been sent to our tier department and we are just awaiting them to apply the refund at this point , I do not have an exact date as of now normally a refund can take up to business days
Thank you for contacting the Austin American-Statesman
The Austin-American Statesman did not deliver my paper for about weeks in the middle of my subscription period, but refuses to issue credit for more than weeks, even though they said that they will issue credit for the full amount
They don't send invoices, and their website did not let me log in, their phone number did not work, and their emails said they will respond within hours, but they did not respond for days
Since I complained days after the paper stopped, and not earlier, they are maintaining that days was too late
Nothing in their contract stipulated that it should be done quickly
I also complained repeatedly, until finally delivery restarted
Their first contact and their manager had different stories from each other, and their manager's record of events did not match up with the emails that I got (or did not get from them) For example, they said that I emailed them on June 14, but my records show June 12, Their first contact perso
I cancelled my subscription in May, I had a subscription to yrs The paper has become substandard with the priting being out of town and the news being day old I had frequent delivery problems in the months leading up to the cancellation I had my complaints escalated and nothing changed I tried to cancel 3-times and they just wouldn't accept the cancellation They finally sent me a bill for approximately $ I wrote cancel on it and mailed them a check for their invoice for $ Within a few days, they sent me a letter stating they were refunding my money I have never received the refunds going on 7-weeks now I have called every Monand I get the same runaround that it is in the mail I have been told the check was issued on 7/22/and again last week They told me today that it takes 3-weeks for me to get the check in the mail Snail mail is slow but as of today (and after spending another minson hold), I still have not received the refun
I called (*** to have my service canceled; their automated system does not allow the user to unsubscribe, and provided no option to contact a person to assist
I then emailed their primary customer service address and requested to have my account canceledThey replied and said they couldn't help meThey told me to contact the phone number listed aboveI called it a second time and it hung up on me when I followed the prompts to get support
This leaves me with no way to unsubscribe from their serviceI emailed a second time requesting they cancel my account because their recommended path ends in an error, they have not returned my second email
I've tried to cancel my subscription to the Austin American Statesman starting with an email to their customer care on 6/5/and again today on 6/12/18, and no reply that they received my email or have cancelled my subscription
I've call over times over the past days to try to cancel and every time I call, any chose any directory option to cancel or talk to a customer care rep the calls drop There is no way to talk to anyone with their phone directory and no way to cancel online that I've found If it's a phone issue, I can't believe its been dropping calls for over a week It appears the Statesman is purposely trying to avoid taking consumer calls, especially cancellations
I have not received my paper through home delivery in over a monthI have logged complaints through automated calls, e-mails, and telephone calls with no indication they are pursuing a resolutionI received a call from a supervisor (***) who did nothing
Since I sign up only Sunday paperweeks ago and I did time call say it takes weeks processSo last Sunday no paper and I had been trying to call them but waiting for more than mins Twice and still not be able to reach themI prefer to have them pick up the phone and answer now
Reason to asked why is not delivery Sunday paper and I paid for and had the pink slip here with me
