Sinemia Reviews (1602)

Paid for an annual subscription plan, where TOS stated any changes in plan would happen in the next billing cycle, but they did not honor that.
The annual plan consisted of paying 9.99/month for 12 months upfront, in exchange for obtaining 3 free movie tickets per month, with no hidden fee/additional fee. Their terms of service had two sections 4.3 and 27.3 which stated any changes to the plan would NOT happen or occur during mid-cycle. But conveniently, AFTER I had paid and agreed to their terms, they changed and took out that section, stating they can change their terms and conditions as they wish, therefore charging me as much as they want as they feel the need. I messaged them via their support page on Twitter, asking for a refund, however they completely dodged my complaint, and stated that I can cancel my auto renewal, and use my plan to the last day - which has nothing to do with what I had said.

Desired Outcome

Refund for annual subscription as they changed TOS and breached contract.

Hi, We are sorry you think this way. Sinemia covers the cost of your movie tickets. Convenience fees and/ or transaction fees are not covered and this is not a surcharge.
We do our best to create an easy to access and helpful FAQ from which subscribers can benefit. If you believe the FAQs are not clear enough, please let us know your feedback at ***@sinemia.com.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
That does not change the fact, you breached the Terms of Service. The convenience fee(charged by movie theater) and this processing fee is completely different. When I signed up, the TOS Section 4.3 clearly stated, any changes made to the plan, I would be notifIed AND they would not occur mid-plan. AFTER I signed up, and you changed the Terms of Service, you shortly introduced the $1.80 processing fee. I never agreed to this charge, when I paid the $119.88. Refund my money!!

Sinemia Response • Oct 27, 2018

Hi, you have redeemed 4 tickets from your Sinemia membership already. We'd love to assist however your subscription's terms do not allow us to issue a refund.
We did not make any changed on your plan or on your movie days right. Please send us an email at ***@sinemia.com and we'll be more than happy to assist.

I'll keep this brief as I can with everything bad about the service:

1. They promise you a card you use at theatres. They don't advertise they discontinued the card, forcing you to use the app and pay "convenience fees" when you book through Fandango, Atom, etc.

2. The app is a horrible UI and experience. I won't go into detail here, but if you're not an app-savvy tech person, it will get annoying, fast.

3. Bait and switch. I'm an annual member, prepaid a year for around $179 for 3 tickets a month. Two months in, they began charging everyone an extra $1.80 "processing fee" every time I reserve a ticket, which I essentially already paid for. Note this is on top of the "convenience" fees most of us already didn't know we'd be paying. After contacting them on Twitter (which took days to figure out since their phone number is dead and their inbox returned as "full"), we were pointed to the terms and conditions where it left room for them to start charging me this fee.

They didn't know I printed out the terms when I initially signed up, and they CHANGED the terms I signed up with without telling me, literally the part that says they can't change my terms in the middle of the plan! They refused to refund a cent even after I called them out on it...they simply don't care.

I have to go through the hassle of a chargeback for my full membership through my credit card, and heed my warning, so you don't have to, as well.

My premium account got locked right from the first day. Support from the team is worse, been 2 weeks and no proper response yet.

I have activated my Premium membership and cardless in July, but the app wasnt user friendsly and I couldnt book the movie I wanted to watch. so I raised an incident and they provided me an refund.
Then on october 5th I again ativated my premium subscription for 119.88$ and 3.59$ as transactionfee through mobile app. Waited for two days for my cardless activation but it wasnt happening so I paid 9.99$ and 0.29$ as transaction fee to activate it.
Afer activation, once I go into advance ticket tab I was getting some error message, so I reinstalled the app from play store. From then I wasnt able to login to the app, it was denying my login. I tried to reach out to customer care from october 8th, but they replied me back after a week on october 14th mentioning they will get back.
on october 16th they responded me as, "I have tried to login with two or more accounts so they are terminating my account".
I have explained them I dont have another account with sinemia and I never used another account to login. But they are not responding properly, and they are just closing all the tickets am raising without any resolution.
Its a serious pain to get a reply from the support!
Have paid a year subscription but am facing issue right from the first day.
1. I asked them the proof, date and time + the second account I used on sinemia app form my mobile but they are not responding.
2. WHy will I use another account on my mobile when I have my sinemia premium subscription not even used for a day yet. its literally cheating.
3. They responded me like they cant resume my account neight issue a refund! am not sure how could they even respond like this. I paid my premium and got blocked the next day without allowing me to book a single ticket!

Desired Outcome

I wouldnt mind if i paid for monthly! But i paid for an year! Please do help me with fixing the issue with app or issuing a refund.

Hi, your account has been terminated due to the violation of terms of use of Sinemia. Everything is clearly presented on the website, terms, and the FAQs, unfortunately we won't be able to comment/ assist further in the case.

Sir/ Madam,
Did you even read my concern fully?
Its irritating to see the same reply for all the tickets am raising.
First show some proof that I used multiple accounts in my device!
I paid for my premium on 4th and activated cardless on 6th. but the app didnt allow me book any movies.
If my account was blocked before 4th of october why didnt u notify me when I was trying to pay for my premium?

Sinemia Response • Oct 27, 2018

Hi, having multiple accounts violates the terms of use. We have replied the ticket raised and investigated the issue again. Unfortunately we won't be able to assist the customer in this case since the reuqest does not contain facts and/or actionable request.

Agreed upon services have not been provided. Terms were changed costing and additional $4 per month that was not agreed to.
On May 4, I ordered this service (paid with credit card) which was supposed to send a card allowing me to purchase 2 movie tickets per month at no addition cost. The card was supposed to arrive in about 7 days, but after over a month the card never arrived at which point I tried to cancel. My credit card company denied the chargeback. I resumed the service, but the company still refuses to send send the card or to pause the service until the card is sent. I must now use advanced ticket websites such as fandango which charge at least 2 dollars per movie, which is unnessary because the movies I want to see do not need to be reserved ahead. I have already not used the service for one month, losing two prepaid for tickets, because there was no movie I wanted to see which I was willing to pay additional fees for.

Desired Outcome

I would like a 10 dollar refund for the month that I did not use any tickets, and a refund of 40 dollars to cover the additional fees associated with purchasing movie tickets over the next 10 months.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This ignores the heart of my complaint...I understand having to pay the $1.50 when I use a site like Fandango for advanced ticket. When I signed up for the service, you were supposed to mail me a card that allowed me to purchase the tickets at the theater. Most movies I see there is no need to use an advanced ticket feature. Since you refuse to send me the card as you agreed to, I am forced to pay for advanced tickets every time unnecessarily.

This also ignores that you recently added another surcharge of $1.80 per ticket, and this one is completely inexplicable, I would actually change my complaint to now request a refund of $66.60 to cover the uneccesary advanced ticket fees and the unneccessary service fee you have added to your end.

In the alternative I would have accepted you just mailing me the card (now with a $16.60 refund to cover the unused tickets and two uneccesary charges I incurred this month to use my tickets) like you agreed to but you also seem unwilling to do that.

Sinemia Response • Oct 31, 2018

Hi, Sinemia is fully Cardless now. We will ensure all our existing physical card users that are affected by this transition will not have to pay any convenience fees and processing fees at least for the next 90 days beginning of 30th of October or until the end of their current monthly/annual plans. Thanks.

Customer Response • Oct 29, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
They have been saying they would send me a card for months, it still has not happened at this point I have no reason to believe them. The fees are clear, but did not exist when I purchased the product and since you have not sent the card I cannot avoid the fees that you keep adding. A reasonable solution would be for you to just pause my membership until you can actually mail my card, but you "can't" do that. I still want a refund I the fees already paid, and some resolution to avoid the fees for the remaining 10 months whether that is pausing my membership until the card is sent or refunding $66.60 to cover the fees I do not really care.

First, I've contacted them by email and never heard back when I first start my membership. When I signed up, Sinemia was supposed to send me a credit card. I never received one. I contacted them but no one responded. They do not have a phone number and only have an email for customer support. Since I never received an actual card, I was unable to make purchases at the movie theatre. The workaround was to use the advance ticketing and buy it on fandango. Second, I've tried to "check in" to a movies twice when I was at the theatre and on both times, the main screen was normal and the check in process was not there. So I stopped trying. I am only 4 months into the membership but have paid in full and they are canceling it without notice. Again, I emailed them with no response. I posted on their social media page about the issue hoping that they would respond but surprisingly, my message got deleted. And no response. They are not offering a refund or anything. Just not paying back the months I have left on my membership or responding!

Desired Outcome

A refund of $163 or reinstate my membership.

Customer Response • Nov 02, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The company has responded with a generic email response saying misuse will lead to cancellation. However, they didn't even read my email explaining that isn't even the issue. I once again email them and got another generic response. Seems like the company is just emailing everyone back with a generic response instead of actually reading the content.

A couple weeks ago, I talked with a Sinemia staff member via Messenger about if I downgraded from the 3 - 3D movie package for 2 people to the 3- 2D movie package for 2 people, would I be charged the membership fees again. They responded and said I would not. So last week, I went and downgraded from the 29.99 to the 21.99 plan and I was recharged for the 2 membership fees plus the new monthly fee. This has been the such an expensive adventure and probably would have saved money by not having a subscription. Especially since I can not get a physical card and always have to pay online convenience fees every time I use the service. All I want is to be reimbursed the extra membership fees. A physical card would be nice too so I don't have to continue to pay extra fees.

Sinemia Response • Oct 24, 2018

Hi, your extra fees has been refunded and we have informed you via e-mail. Sinemia plans do not include a physical card.

One star is generous, believe me (they won't let you say none). These guys are crooks. Avoid them like the plague. I signed up in May of 2018. At this time, you signed up under the guise that you would get a physical card in the mail. After a month, they launched their cardless advance ticket feature, but alas, you have to pay the convenience fee in order to use it. So just like that, I'm paying an extra $72 dollars a year if I use my max allotment of tickets each month. They tell me multiple times that their "Card processing facility" is full before they go away with issuing cards altogether, but say those who signed up before a certain date will receive their card. They also tell me to join a movie rewards program to avoid the fees, but those also cost additional money so that's hardly a solution. It's been five months, and no card has ever made it into my mailbox. They don't offer refunds, so I can't even cancel and get part of my money back. You're simply stuck either not using it all and watching the money you paid go to waste, or pony up and pay the convenience fee.

But wait, it gets better. I go to use my account in October and what do ya know, they've made an update! They inform you VIA THE APP that they've now added a $1.80 processing fee per ticket when you use the advance ticket feature, on TOP of the convenience fee. So now I will pay $7.20 a month, on top of the convenience fee, if I want to use my tickets.

Look, it's a nice idea in theory, to be able to see multiple movies a month without maying the high prices in a theater on a day by day basis, but these guys are not an honest company. They are just like MoviePass. They dangle the carrot in front of you and they will just keep moving it until they take and take and take. It's probably cheaper to just pay full price at a movie theater and save yourself the time and energy it takes trying to communicate with a dishonest business. I wish I would have done more research before I committed.

Please know what you're getting yourself into or you will find yourself stuck DM'ing their poor social media manager who we all know has zero control over all of these issues as they spit out their lines about "processing facilities" and fees. Just my two cents, which I really need since another "processing fee" hike is right around the corner.

Everything is clearly presented on the website, terms, and the FAQs, If you believe the FAQs are not clear enough, please let us know your feedback at ***@sinemia.com

Customer Response • Oct 24, 2018

When I signed up in May, it was under the assumption that I would be receiving a physical card which I could then use at the movie theater and therefore, avoid paying convenience fees online. I understand you're paying for the ticket, but I purchased a plan that was to include a physical card, and it's been five months and no card has made it's way to my mailbox. I see your comment doesn't address that issue. If I had the physical card, you wouldn't be able to gouge me for addition transaction fees which you also just added in the last month. Again, those fees WERE NOT detailed when I signed up for my account because you UPDATED the terms to include them.

You're right though, your website CLEARLY presented that I would receive a physical card. Where is the physical card that you were suppose to send? Stop lying about it being backed up at a processing facility that you and I both know doesn't exist and just admit you're not longer sending out cards because you want people to use the advance ticket feature.

Customer Response • Oct 31, 2018

I signed up under the assumption I would be getting a physical card. Two weeks later, you announced your advance ticket card-less feature. It's been five months and my card still isn't here. I've been told countless times that the card will arrive, included a week ago via Twitter, but now you're saying here that you're fully card-less. So I won't be receiving said card that y'all literally told me I would be receiving?I have been paying a convenience fees for the past five months AND now this month I paid the processing fees.

You said two completely different options in those comments. Which is it? Am I not paying these fees until the end of my current annual plan or is it 90 days? That's a huge difference, given that I signed up expecting one thing and you changed it and refuse to offer a partial refund. What about the last FIVE months of paying the convenience fee when I was promised a card in May? That is the issue I want you to address. I have an email dated May 6 that says I will be receiving a card. If the card is never going to come, then I expect you to make it right: Either offer my my partial refund or refund the fees I've been forced to pay as a direct result of you promising one thing and offering another.

. Purchase Date: June 2, 2018 Sinemia Movie and Dinner Plan for 2 - 2 Days with $300 gift certificate for Restaurant.com for $251. *** Payment Method: Discover Card. Payment Amount: $251.00.*** Problem Date: September 19, 2018. Complaint: I am due a refund from Sinemia for 2 instances of breach of contract - my purchase included a $300 gift card for restaurant.com. Sinemia instead only gave me a $25 gift card. My primary subscription was prepaid for an annual premium movie membership which allows me to purchase 2 days of movies for 2 people each month for 12 months. Since September, the app that is required to reserve movie tickets from Sinemia has not allowed me to log into my account. Therefore Sinemia has made it impossible for me to get movie tickets which I have already prepaid. I have repeatedly requested a solution to their app problem and have had no response from Sinemia. Therefore, I am left with the only choice to cancel the service. My subscription began June 23, 2018. I was unable to book tickets in July due to technical difficulties. I successfully used the Sinemia app to book movie tickets in August. By September 12, 2018 I was no longer able to book tickets and began my email requests for assistance. In addition, I reminded Sinemia of the $300 gift certificate. The original code them emailed was only for $25, far below the promised $300. This is unacceptable. There has been no effort by Sinemia to contact me in response to my emails and website help desk contacts.

Desired Outcome

Access to the app with a new start date since we have lost time and $300 gift card for restaurant.com is required. If that isn't possible, then a refund of our purchase of $251 would be fine. Thank you!

Sinemia Response • Oct 24, 2018

Hi, we are sorry to hear that. After reviewing your account we see that you did not used the promo code for Restaurants.com Gift. We have reached you in details to compansate your missed movie days via e-mail.

Customer Response • Oct 25, 2018

I received an email today from Sinemia saying they have activated the app so I will be able to get tickets. In the meantime I logged into my account but there is no indication that they have credited my account for the time lost. And I have yet to receive the $300 restaurant.com credit.

I replied to Sinemia support with my requests and am waiting for them to make the changes. I am hopeful they will. But if they do not I prefer a refund.

Best wishes

Sinemia claims I didn't use the correct promo code during the registration process. However I distinctly remember being invited to upgrade to the premium plan with dinner durjng the registration checkout process and as you can see from my receipt I purchased the movie and dinner plan that came with a $300 gift certificate. That was the incentive to upgrade the plan I originally chose to a more expensive plan, which I would not have done without the incentive. If Sinemia is not going to honor the plan I paid for in advance I want a refund. I was 6 weeks without ability to book movie tickets due to this fiasco. Each month represents 2 movie days and I expect either a refund, or at least 3 additional movie days, and more days if it takes more time to get this resolved. In addition I sincerely request Sinemia honor its arrangement for the dinner component of my subscription.

I wish I could give a zero star. These guys are crooks. I signed up for a year family plan and now every time I purchase a ticket they charge a $1.80 processing fee on top of the convience fee I pay. So I am still paying over $4 every time I go see a movie per ticket. The $1.80 just happened without any notice. Absolute crooks. Please stay away at all costs

Charge monthly service for whole year, that's fine, charge a $1.50 convieicne fee over actual $1 convieicne fee of movietickets.com, no email response, fine what ever. After a month of service, now charging an additional $1.80 as processing fee? I have an idea for future fees, $1 for advance booking fee, $3 for opening week fee, $2 digital card fee, $108 Turkey Buisness tax, $1000 Johny Depp fee! Your fees makes it as much as normal viewing! BtW I have 2er family plan so everything is doubled for me!

Misleading promo ad.. Bait and switch practice...
September 16th 2018. I prepaid for the annual membership for the Elite 2 movies per month promo. The ad states as follows: "Elite 2 plan; Every feature in the Classic Plan, including 3D and an experience in IMAX-4DX and more." My understanding is that I can use my memebership for 2 movies during my billing cycle. That evening, I used it for the The Predator in a premuim format with no issue. Fast forward to last week, I was use to for Venom in Imax. I've been discussing my issue with *** from Sinemia email support(***@sinemia.com). Now, he's tellig me that due to their terms and agreements I am allowed only 1 movie in premium format (IMAX,etc..) +1 in normal format. And that was the reason my pass did not work for Venom. My understanding, the ad did not specify such. If that was the case, I would have not signed up for it.I have requested for a refund for my purchase for Venom tickets for $14.99 but they refused. I have a full email thread between myself and *** if you need it. If you need more details, please do not hestiate to email or call me.

Thank you in advance.

Desired Outcome

Their buisness practice is "bait and switch" to allowed consumers to signed up to their misleading ads. I'm not sure if others plans are the same but this one is impacting me by inconvenient and frustrations with what my expectation is. If they are continue to stick to the 1+1 movie for this membership, I want to cancel and get a full refund + 14.99 which I should have not have to pay, if my membership worked.

I thoroughly researched the website before purchasing the membership and I did not find anything relating to this issue. It is my belief that they are being deceptive. This information should have been clearly presented in the purchasing process. Furthermore they never gave me a chance to address the issue before termination. They simply terminated my account 3 months into the 12 month prepaid membership without any prior notice and locked the accounts. Seems like deceptive business practice aimed solely at monetary gain. I'm sure this is not the first complaint on this matter. Social media and google searches provide that information.

Sinemia said that I had to pay a year in advance. With their agreement, I was allowed to go to a movie a day. (I paid $359.88 up front)Service stopped
Sinemia charged me $359.88 for a yearly service which I paid. After using the service only 2 weeks they said that I was not complying with their service plan. They do not have a customer service phone number and they only respond when they feel like it. They have informed me that I can't receive a refund and they will not reinstate me. Please see what you can do for me as I am a senior citizen on a fixed income.

Desired Outcome

Sinemia should refund the entire $359.88 since they have not honored their contract.

Sinemia dropped me for invalid reasons so that they could collect my entire $359.88. This afforded them an opportunity to collect a huge profit without taking a chance on me using a huge part of their resources. Due to fraud (dropping me without a valid excuse) I wish for Revdex.com to continue this investigation. It should also be noted that I have joined a Class Action Law suit against Sinemia.

Charges fee which keeps increasing every time you use the service to purchase movie tickets, First it was free then $99 then $1.99 now $3.60
My account is attached to my email with is: v_***14@Hotmail. Sinemia never disclosed there was a fee for purchasing tickets (not available on their website (https://www.sinemia.com/), At first it was free then $.99, $1.99 now $3.60 CDN for 2 persons and they don't respond to emails also my plan starts on August 6th and that suppose to be my cycle date. For this month I went to the movies on the 5th and the 9th. I have the family plan with 2 tickets monthly. I'm suppose to have 1 ticket left since the 6th is when I started the plan but the app says I reached my limit. I sent messages to this company Via Facebook Messenger, Previously they replied but since the last 2 weeks I have no response from them. Please,There need to be no fee for using the service since I already paid for 1 year of service starting August 6th and i'm owed 2 movie tickets/1 day.

Desired Outcome

At no part on their website does it say there will be a service fee for purchasing ticket. Why was it free at first? Also I need to have an additional movie ticket for this month as the one that was purchased on the 4th Oct should of been for the previous cycle. It's unfair for me to purchase a movie plan without the fee's associated with using a card. What other option do you have to purchase tickets without fee? Besides a card processor does not charge fee's based on persons and the percentage is too much, you're telling me I have to pay $3.60 to purchase tickets valued at $26?? This is outright roberry.

I'm grateful that you give me my additional movie day for this month. However, this processing fee is non sense. How does the company know to charge per person or not per transaction and what's the name of the payment processing company?

This company does not respond to complaints in a timely manner. It has been over a week since I requested help and I have received no response
I have had a number of issues with this company since I paid for their services.
1) The latest issue is they keep changing the date the moview tickets renew every month. It was the 28th of the month and they changed it to the 24th of the month without notifying me. I lost a set of tickets because of this change. They have also started charging fees that were not in the original contract I signed with them. They are non responsive via email which is the only way to get a hold of them. They do not respond to emails and the support link in their app does not work. At this time, I would like to cancell my membership and be refunded for the remaining months of unused benefits especially since they are not responding to my emails.

Desired Outcome

i would like to cancell my membership and be refunded for the remaining months of unused benefits especially since they are not responding to my emails.

As mentioned in my initial complaint against your company, your company just started charging fees that were not in our initial aggreement when I prepaid for your service last December. Why should I pay extra fees when I am already prepaid? this is a deceptive business practice. Please remove the fees moving forward or refund me for the remaining months on my plan. That is the only two resolutions that would make me happy at this time.

Have tried reading customer service multiple times about service not working. Just keep getting the same response not relatedto my issue after waiting
I signed up for a year of service and got cancled after 2 weeks becaude they claim my card was not able to have a fee charged to it. I updated card but they still have not resorted services. I have reached out on 3 different emails Facebook and Twitter but they will not answer for days and always explain why it was cancelled and say I will have to wait for it to be fixed. It's been over a week still no fix and they will not provide a number to call

Desired Outcome

They either need to restore my account or refund my money

I have already reached out to the company using 3 different email addresses. Each time they respond that my account is cancled for misuse and not on how we can resolve the issue

Sinemia Response • Oct 24, 2018

Hi, everything is clearly presented on the website, terms, and the FAQs, unfortunately we won't be able to comment/ assist further in the case.

issues within customer service/contact, no update on additional NEW subscription charges applied to credit card.
My issue that I have reached out too Sinemia over the FB page as that is normally the best way to contact them is that they spoke of "solving" the issue which still didnt deal with the "scam" / illegitimate charge they are charging customers to use there service which I did not agree to when I signed up and were updated/changed and I was not updated with new changes ever until I used the service again.

issue 1.
customer support hasn't replied to emails I have sent through contact form on site over 2 weeks ago. and FB message isn't "delivered" anymore, almost as if they blocked me.

issue 2.
additional charged I was never told about in advertising on site + they give no way to use the service unless you pay this additional 1.99 service charge they say for purchasing online movie tickets through app. THEY say it is because the purchasing service charges more online vs at the theatre itself which is atleast incorrect for Canadian customers using there service which on cineplex.com, the ticket price is the same in person / online HENCE the subscription I now pay does not work unless I pay an additional 1.99 / movie.

They also do not give me an option to pay through a card like Moviepass hence I am stuck with this fee, WHICH I was never told about and only was implemented into the site/service 3 months into using service/subscription.

issue 3.
I asked for a refund (as I paid for a whole year. Which they are not able to refund the last 9 months of service which I do not want to use because of this additional charge they have implemented for online service fee which atleast in canada isn't happening online movie ticket purchases hence its a money grab...

I feel scammed, not able to reach out to communicate to the company and have no option for a refund.

Desired Outcome

I would hope for the service to work as I was advertised aka not being charged an additional 1.99 per ticket as they give no option to buy tickets at store and the 1.99 is a scam because the theatre site online doesnt charge more in person.

Sinemia's website fully mischarged me for a premium two person plan. They refused to refund or to switch me to a monthly one person plan.
Purchased on 9/28/2018. Immediately requested a refund after the website charged me 430+ dollars for a full year of the most expensive plan. I immediately emailed them, they refused to refund and instead asked me to purchase ANOTHER plan and THEN they'd refund me. With no guarantee that they would follow through on a refund, I continued to ask them to change the plan on their end. There is only one customer service person (***?) and no phone number. My refund is basically being ransomed to that they can force me to buy another plan. I have all of this in writing but no one is willing to help. This company needs to be looked into and held responsible. They never even sent me a copy of my receipt, so I wouldn't even have known how much I would be charged. I tried to work with them and they refused to help at all.

Desired Outcome

A better customer service option - like an actual human being. And a full refund. I have not used the service at all and have been waiting to be refunded.

Sinemia Response • Oct 21, 2018

Hi there,as a gesture of goodwill we've canceled your plan and issued a refund.

I prepaid for a 1 year subscription. Was charged, then they cancelled my account for a dubious reason.
I prepaid for a 1 year subscription. Was charged, then they cancelled my account for a dubious reason: The app prompts you to "check in" to a movie when you use it. The first time I used it, it did not prompt me to do so, there was no indication that you needed to do so. This is the reason they have stated they are cancelling my account. There has been no mention of a refund and I am unable to reach them. Any response from them is a stock answer and none actually addressing my claim I would be fine with my account either being re-issued so I can use it or if not getting reimbursed for the subscription I cannot use.

Desired Outcome

I would like to use the account I am paying for. If that cannot work, I would like to be reimbursed for the payment I made since I cannot use the account.

Thank you for the response. The company just responded to me several hrs ago and everything is ok now. They are reinstating my membership. Please let me know if anything else is needed from my end. Thank you.
Sent from my iPhone

Their customer service is nonexistent. I was charged $20.00 more this month for this service. I signed up for the 3 movies for 9.99/month but was changed 29.95 this month. They only have an email address for their customer service, no phone number, so I emailed them asking why I was overcharged. I have been waiting for 2 weeks now and no responses to my emails. I had to reach out to my bank to dispute this charge.

No one from that email address ever responded to me. I had to send a message through Twitter and wait a few weeks to get a message back. This has not been resolved. It shouldn't take weeks to look into an issue and still no resolution.

Sinemia Response • Oct 31, 2018

Hi, your Twitter messages had been responded, our support also responded your e-mail please check. Thanks.

Customer Response • Nov 05, 2018

This weekend I was charged 34.99 for membership.. someone from Sinemia confirmed with me via twitter last week that my account was going to renew at 9.99 going forward. I need a full refund back ASAP and my service canceled. I am so done with this company. This is ridiculous! DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS SERVICE. Customer service is nonexistent.

Sinemia Response • Nov 06, 2018

Our support has replied your e-mail, please check.

Customer Response • Dec 05, 2018

Still waiting for my refund of $34.99
My boyfriend cancelled his service as well. It should not take this long to refund a customer

Sinemia Response • Dec 08, 2018

Thanks, we are noted about the urgency. It will be completed as soon as possible.

Customer Response • Dec 11, 2018

Is there a reason NO ONE from customer service has responded to me? Your website says it takes 24 hours for a response yet that isn't the case. Why don't they respond? You only respond when I file a claim on this website. I need my money ASAP before I take it up with my bank. It's been over a month now which is ridiculous

Sinemia Response • Dec 16, 2018

We might have delays in responding due to high demand but we are doing our best to revert our users in a timely manner. We would like to confirm that your refund has been completed, you may follow the payment with your bank. Thank you!
