[hour fitness did contact me but they offered no solutionAll they did was explain where their sales employees had made a mistake in falsifying information when selling memberships to much of the publicThey offered no apology and actually no resolution was even offeredI'm very disappointed with them as a businessI have found that there are many petitions being signed by people that were also lied to by hour fitness sales associatesI will sign these petitions and also file a complaint with the state attorney general of the federal trade commission.The fact that this business is trying to close this complaint without any action is very upsetting.]

Hour Fitness contacted me and simply stated that they cannot honor what was told to me when signing my contract because their is no audio record of the type of membership the sales representative falsely sold meI mentioned to them that they did have the employee name and number of the person who gave me the terms of my contract, however they said it would make no difference and that my "lifetime" membership was increasingI know what was represented to me when I made the decision to purchase the lifetime membership, and Hour Fitness has not honored that.

We are unable to comply with your request to reduce your annual renewalHowever, we do believe that even with the increase, you are still getting a great value at a highly competitive rate

My main contention going forward is that Hour Fitness should not profit from the shell game they played with the customer here in real practical terms - that is keeping the $plan they sold through deceptive praxis - the said shell gameSimply put, the shell game involved their staff associate, *** *, pushing the $750-for-years-and-$29-after that, while practically hiding the "3C Clause" in gobs of small print smack dab in the middle of a backpage of the contract packageThis was practically deceptive because that clause was a huge corollary of Hour Fitness selling pointReputable praxis dictates that such big points of a contract be put front and center of the sale process on equal or next to equal footing with the selling pointThe example I gave is the initialing or checking of certain key boxes during the car rental processThis annotation makes sure that key aspects of a contract are not omitted or glossed over and thereby leading the quagmire that I and Hour Fitness find ourselves in.The Hour Fitness rep, *** ** that I spoke to last indicated that Fitness has abandoned the sales practice used in my particular instance - which amounts to a mea culpa of sortsAnd in that connection my contention is that for that mea culpa to be meaningful, Hour Fitness needs to forgo the monies that were raised through that shady marketing if they will not abide by the explicit promises of what was sold with these plans, which is $29-a-year memberships.The other thing which has been disappointing throughout this process is the low level of engagement from Hour Fitness despite the canned PR pablum contained in each of their responsesEach of them blithely gloss over what is so troubling about how Hour Fitness staff - at least *** * in my case - sold the $plans - to wit, misleadingly, if not deceptivelyHour Fitness's vaunted care about how I am being affected by all this is belied by the fact that there was zero evidence that they had tried to call me even as they professed that they hadI found no evidence that noone called on May 28, the day Hour Fitness maintained they called me to resolve this issueWhen I brought this up in my last conversation with *** ** she didn't seem to want to face the implication that perhaps noone from her office had called me when they had said they hadThe incoming calls folder would have shown that someone had called on that dayIt did notThis is what I mean by low level engagement.And the attempt to try to disown how *** * had sold the plan, starting with the Hour Fitness customer service representative in May 3rd or 4th, smacked of a cheap attempt to wiggle out of responsibilityAt what point does Hour Fitness take responsibility for the conduct of its workers?I have suggested solutions:Keep the rate at $a year as was overtly advertised in the selling of the $plan If Hour Fitness cannot keep the rate at $a year, they should just give me back the $I paid them and cancel my membership because it was sold under shady praxis.As per your request, I am attaching the "contract" paperwork associated with my $payment to Hour FitnessThe paperworks is in the form of a PDF file accessible through the Adobe Acrobat program As you peruse it, please bear in mind what I said at the beginning of this note.I will await your response.*** ***
