Problem:
In October of last year I was suddenly laid off from my job and fell behind on my student loan payments. When I finally found a new job in mid-December, I called Navient on/around 12/16/14 to get my account brought current. The representative I spoke with told me that 2 payments of $200 would bring my account current. I set up a $200 payment for 12/23/14 and another for 1/6/15. I called again a few days after 1/6/15 and they verified my payments went through and that my account was current. We then set me up on automatic payments that would come out on the 5th of every month (my due date). Around February 2nd I logged into my Navient account and noticed that my account was showing as past due, even though my payment wasn’t due until 2/5/15. I emailed [redacted] Ahmad on February 4th, and again on February 6th when I hadn’t heard back from her. She advised me to call the Private Credit Collections department which I did on the evening of 2/9/15. After pressing the correct prompts to speak with someone regarding PRIVATE loans and not Dept of Ed loans, and waiting on hold for 6 minutes, I reached “Aliyah” who was very rude and kept saying “your payment posted on the 5th, WHAT DO YOU WANT.” I told her I knew my payment posted, which is why I wanted to know why my loans were past due. After her repeatedly being rude and basically refusing to listen to me or try to help me, I finally figured out that she was talking about my Dept of Ed loans. I told her this was regarding my PRIVATE loans and she said “I can’t help you, I have to transfer you.” Without waiting for me to respond, she transferred me and I received a message saying my hold time would be 18-22 minutes. I pressed the prompt to receive a call back. The next person’s name is written on a piece of paper somewhere at home, but she was nicer at least. She couldn’t figure out what was going on with my account and said she had to enter a “research request” and I’d receive an answer by 2/15/15. I emailed Michelle Ahmad on 2/10/15 to let her know of my frustration and wasted time. She responded on 2/12/15: “I have reached out to our Private Credit Ombudsman to verify the information that was shared with you in December regarding the securing of the two payments. As previously advised, they set up specific programs at times, and I just want to ensure I’m providing the correct information regarding the agreement that was made. I will inform you of any information received upon conclusion of the research. In the mean time you’re welcome to call me or email me for updates.” On 2/23/15 I realized I still had no answer or resolution regarding this, so I emailed [redacted] again. She told me that the delinquency was valid. I told her again that my issue was that I was told on multiple occasions that my account was CURRENT and that I have no money to make additional payments on top of my already crippling monthly payments, she once again said the delinquency is valid. I have put in HOURS of my personal time to try to resolve this and get answers, and I’ve been met with long hold times, no answers, no response, and a rude representative named Aliyah. I have done my due diligence, followed up when people just decide to not respond and drop the ball, and communicated my situation very clearly. I AM AT MY WIT'S END AND BEYOND FRUSTRATED.

I want my late fees removed and my private loan accounts brought current. It would also be nice if your reps were knowledgeable, polite, and helpful and that a call to customer service didn't involve 20+ minutes of hold time.

I do not accept this complaint. Upon further review,of the account, Tax information was provided, owever, it was discovered that the amounts that Navient is reporting as a total balance on my account do not match the record I nor the collection agency have. I have tried my best to continue to work in a peaceful manner with Navient, however, I do believe this issue is a violation of my fair debt collection rights and a threat to integrity of my credit file. I have attempted to make daily contact with both parties (Navient. Javich, Block & Rathbone) and have not received any assistance since this problem was discovered during my conversation with Karen from Navient on February 12, 2016. Additionally, Karen had offered me a settlement amount of $67 monthly which would reduce my interest and start reporting "partial payment accepted" to my credit report. She told me to go to the collection agency and get this agreement drafted. Upon contact with the collection agency, I was told they knew nothing of the issue and could not draft that agreement. I have made 2 contacts with the collection agency since February 12, 2016, and they have stated they have not heard from Navient. I will gladly accept the settlement, resume payments, and work in a peaceful manner with both companies including accepting the response in this complaint once the following are corrected: 1) balances needed to be updated on my credit report immediately 2) settlement that was offered needs to be honored and fulfilled by both companies

Payments continue to be posted incorrectly.  We have had to keep in contact with the customer advocate to request proper postings of the payments we have made even after filing my complaint with the Revdex.com.

I am pre-eminently rejecting the proposed communication from the business...I am doing so because they have persisted for years and not accepted the terms of thier own issuance of resolution...I have sent the required paperwork to them several times and attempted repeated contact with them about the issue and checked all other routes to resolution with the school the department of education and the two loan companies...my proof of ssi has been again sent time after time and they have simply rejected it...thier continued addition of month after month of interest is insulting considering that they refuse to accept my papers that qualify me for a total dismissal of the loan...thier repeated calling and mailing my residence has been an annoyance at best and thier persistance only seems rediculous considering they would not accept the required forms at any point no matter what I had tried or whom I had spoken to.  This issue has followed me and persisted to insult me without relenting. They absorbed and dissolved my federal student aid in the amount of five thousand dollars and still continued to attempt to collect more and still more to this day.  To pursue that issue based on my income is rediculous and there is nor should there be any consideration or comparrison of myself to anyone else. That is not for me to hear but for a court and I am insulted that I should have to hear the issue in my home and among my family because they wish to persist and contest and promote that the media and or people should assist to raise the issue and court with me with no legal documents or result when the required paperwork is in my posession. They have simply annoyed me and persisted to use me and abuse me by way of the media and further slander me based on my financial circumstance which is thanks to someone else's negligence and almost the loss of my life in an accident in which I unfortunately lost the whole of the value of my life and future and ability to suceed and I still resent the system that I hear is represented by those who DO suceed because it is nothing but a SPORT to use money and financial institution and community and media this way and I will NEVER support that.  That is all I have to say to them or anyone and there are many who persist to insist I suffer because I disagree with a certain majority or at least on that is represented in such a measure that it is allowed to reach into my residence and the being and minds of others to help assist it in its movement and to harass citizens. There is barely any relief in this world from this type of harassment. The pleasure and joy of living and entertainment has long left my life and my injury is only a small sign of that being very very real and significant until the day I die and hope not to return to this annoying and courting world that alleges that my mind has helped to create it and make it the reality it is and that facts and numbers support such harassment of citizens and lack of integrity and punishment for those who cannot or will not PICK a satisfactory army, team, duty, politic, country, drug, master, teacher, sport, sex that satisfies them enough to turn identity into a number a push it into the mass of this whole that is so incorrectly buried in transaction and contract that it's lost it's sight of what being a person is about...I wish I could say more and have some reasonable remainder to cater to an answer of what is or would be better but the fact is that history exists while a future is yet to be determined and the only stepping stone to that future is patience and technology and money and harassment and sorting out the disabled from the able and the willing from the coward or conservative who will not change with it or rush to cater to any mode or method just to achieve categorization as special interest or whatever next term they use to convince us or anyone that we have any other purpose than to live and die. It is that important to me because to know the value of human life is to know we have already lived and died many times in our will is the wake of the future turning into the past and dying many more times under this harassment and immaturity of humanity which batters it's competition as it sits to watch rather compete and who hopes for death in its infamy of not being chosen or rising at the opportunity to take hold of some worthless challenge be it even bravery and victory or a proud death as they are all the same and against only ourselves or the monsters we have created or loved or lost or are to become before we again fall to the natural failure we claim delivers us to more creditors in some slander of afterlife. After Sallie Mae transferred my Student Loans to Navient, I was immediately locked out of my account due to "Too Many Failed Attempts." This was the message I received on my first log-in, and it then took 9 phone calls and 4 months of being hung up on and transferred to a computerized system which would then bounce me back and forth between Navient and Sallie Mae before I finally was able to get my password reset. Each time I would call a speak with a representative, that is if I could actually get one before being disconnected, the excuse was always the same, "Oh I'm sorry, my computer just locked up and I cannot unlock your password right now, but please call again tomorrow and we will see what we can do." At one point I even left my phone number with a representative who had offered to find a solution and call me back, yet to no ones surprise that phone call never came. If given the choice, I would recommend to turn and run far far away!
