Dear [redacted] Comenity Capital Bank has received your correspondence regarding the above-referenced account.  Comenity Capital Bank issues the JD Williams credit card.  We are here to answer your questions and assist with your concerns. We understand from your complaint, addressed to...

the Revdex.com, regarding the above-referenced account that you purchased a jacket and returned this merchandise.  At the time of purchase you made a payment of $33.76 before you received the item and the remaining balance on the purchase was $37.00.  You indicate that you have received several statements with past due fees assessed to the account.  You also state that you received a call from the Bank advising you that you have a balance on the account of $79.00.  You are requesting a reason for these charges as the item was returned. Please keep in mind that when payments are not received, are received after the due date, or are made for less than the minimum required, the account will be assessed a late fee, as explained in the Credit Card Agreement. On September 8, 2016, a statement was issued to you with a balance of $44.43 and a minimum due payment of $19.57 due on October 4, 2016.  A payment of $29.86 was received on September 30, 2016, on October 6, 2016, this payment was returned from your bank as unable to locate the account.  As such a return payment fee was assessed to the account. On October 9, 2016, a statement was issued to you with a balance of $50.41 and a minimum due payment of $10.00 due on November 4, 2016.  As no payment was received by this date late fee and finance charges were assessed to the account. On November 8, 2016, a statement was issued to you with a balance of $87.96 and a minimum due payment of $27.00 due on December 4, 2016.  A purchase of 67.50 was placed on the account on October 12, 2016 and a payment of $33.76 was made on October 21, 2016. On December 9, 2016, a statement was issued to you with a balance of $50.44 and a minimum due payment of $25.46 due on January 4, 2017.  As no payment was received by this date a late fee and finance charge was assessed to the account.  On November 10, 2016, a merchandise return was credited on your account of $67.50. On January 9, 2017, a statement was issued to you with a balance of $79.45 and a minimum due payment of $30.46 due on February 4, 2017.  Enclosed are all statements mentioned above for your review. As of the date of this letter, the balance on the account is $79.45, and the account reflects two billing cycles past due.  If the account exceeds six billing cycles past due the account will be closed, written off and reported to the national credit-reporting agencies as an unpaid debt.  As the Bank finds these fees valid, we are unwilling to remove any fees from the above-referenced JD Williams account.  Please be advised that fees were assessed to the account due to a remaining balance from October 2016 not due to the return merchandise. I hope you have found this information to be helpful. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at ###-###-####.                                           Sincerely,                                                                                      Renee S[redacted]

Dear [redacted]: Comenity Capital Bank (Bank) has received your correspondence regarding the above-referenced account. Comenity Capital Bank issues the [redacted] credit account. We are here to answer your questions and assist with your concerns. We understand from your...

correspondence, submitted to the Revdex.com, that in May 2016 you purchased a pellet stove that was offered with 12 months interest free financing. Per the first statement, your payment was due on June 20, 2016, which led you to believe you had until June 2017 to pay off the charge. You state you received a statement in May 2017 with interest charges of $763.72 due to the promotional balance not being paid in full before it expired.. You are requesting that the interest charge is removed due to you only had 11 months of interest free financing and not the 12 months of interest free financing as promised. Our records indicate on May 13, 2016, a purchase of $4,244.78 posted to your account and was placed on a 12-month deferred interest, payment required plan that expired on May 14, 2017. For purchases on this plan, the customer is required to make payments on the promotional plan balance based on the standard repayment terms for their account. Interest is accrued (calculated, but not added to the balance), and if the balance is not paid in full by the plan end date, the accrued finance charges, which were calculated from the date of the original purchase, will be added to the deferred balance, and this balance will be moved to the customer’s revolving balance. Please be advised that information regarding your promotional plan appeared on your monthly billing statements, under the heading, “details of your plans”. Additionally, beginning with the March 2017 billing statement, notification was provided which advised your promotional plan was expiring soon. I have enclosed your billing statements for your review. Please be advised that a statement was issued to you on April 24, 2017, showing a balance of $694.78 with a minimum payment of $30.00 due by May 20, 2017. Under the “details of your plans” section of your statement, it stated that the promotional balance of $694.78 needed to be paid in full by May 14, 2017, to avoid paying accrued interest. The Bank received a payment of $350.00 on May 1, 2017. As a result of the promotional balance not being paid in full by the plan expiration date, the accrued interest of $763.72 was assessed to your account on May 25, 2017, and the remaining promotional balance of $344.78 was moved to revolving, which is subject to normal monthly finance charges. As of the date of this letter, the balance on the account is $1,108.50 with a minimum payment of $39.00 due by June 20, 2017. In regard to your question of the promotional plan being only 11 months, please be assured the purchase was placed on a 12 month interest free promotional plan as the purchase date was May 13, 2016, expiring on May 14, 2017. I hope you have found this information to be helpful. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at ###-###-####. Sincerely, [redacted] Compliance Dept. – Consumer Responses

Dear Kristiana Moore: Comenity Bank (Bank) has received your correspondence regarding the above-referenced account. Comenity Bank issues The Limited credit card. We are here to answer your questions and assist with your concerns. We understand from your complaint that you spoke...

to our Customer Service representative regarding your payment on February 9, 2017. While on the phone with our representative, you were advised of the $9.00 payment processing fee. You state that our representative advised you to submit your payment via our automated phone system to avoid the $9.00 processing fee. When you attempted to submit your payment, the automated phone system did not accept your payment and you were transferred to a Customer Service representative who advised that the only way to submit your payment was by paying the $9.00 processing fee. Furthermore, you are requesting to have the remaining balance cleared from your account. Bank records indicate your payment due date is the 7th of every month. The Limited account is a regular revolving account, which means that if there is a balance, a minimum payment is required each billing period. Please keep in mind that when payments are not received, are received after the due date, or are made for less than the minimum required, the account will be assessed a late fee, as explained in the Credit Card Agreement. Due to a late fee credit that was issued to the account on February 9, 2017, your account is not eligible to have an additional late fee credited. The balance on your account is $30.97 with a minimum payment of $27.00 due on April 7, 2017, and Comenity Bank finds your balance to be valid. I hope you have found this information to be helpful. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at ###-###-####. Sincerely, Rosa M

Asking for me to send personal information which they already possess through the mail like my address, account numbers and social security is just another stalling technique. Dear
Ms. [redacted]:
We  received your complaint, addressed to the
Revdex.com, regarding the above-referenced account.  Comenity Bank issues Younkers credit card
accounts, and we are here to assist with your account-related questions.  Your complaint was...

forwarded to my attention,
and I appreciate the opportunity to respond to your concerns.
We
understand from your complaint to the Revdex.com that your Younkers
account was charged without your permission for
“Cookware/Bakeware” totaling $95.37.
After receiving this item via the United Parcel Service, you  returned it requesting that the item be fully
credited to your account.  Furthermore,
you state that you have been charged four times for the above item and you are
requesting to have $301.48 credited back to your account.
We
appreciate you contacting us about your
concerns and we would like to take this moment to explain our findings.
On
September 12, 2015, Bank records show your account was charged for
cookware/bakeware through Younkers Mail Order totaling $95.37.  On October 10, 2015, your account was
credited $95.37 for the above cookware/bakeware item.
Prior
to the credit on October 10, 2015, Comenity Bank  received your dispute concerning the above
charge.  While we investigated this
matter, we issued your Younkers account
a temporary credit for the disputed amount and, if applicable, any related
finance charges.  This credit appeared on
your November 1, 2015, billing statement as a “provisional credit”.  During our investigation, your account was
credited for the above item on October 10, 2015; therefore, we reversed the
“provisional credit” issued on October 2, 2015.
This also appeared on your November 1, 2015, billing statement as a
“provisional credit reversal”.
In
our recent investigation, we did not see any additional charges for the
cookware/bakeware item; therefore, we are unwilling to credit your account for
the requested amount of $301.48 mentioned in your Revdex.com
complaint.
As
of the date of this letter, your account balance is $142.95 which includes a
recent store purchase of $140.20 on October 16, 2015.
We
hope you find this information helpful, and we sincerely apologize for any
confusion or inconvenience this matter has caused you.  If you have any further questions about your
account, please contact me at ###-###-####, ext. [redacted] (TDD/TTY ###-###-####).  I will be happy to assist
you.
Sincerely,
