Senior Mortgage Specialist *** was in charge of processing the refinance of my home. He said that I would be required to pay a $495.00-appraisal fee, that personal checks were not accepted, and that I could pay via credit or debit card. I was uncomfortable doing so, but I told him my credit card number, its expiration date, and security code. I told *** I needed time to put two rooms of my home in order before the appraisal. Shortly after speaking with *** I received a call from his manager, who asked me questions concerning my desire to postpone the appraisal. I told him my reason, He then asked: "What is wrong with your home?" I replied: "Nothing!" The manager said appraisers were not interested in the appearance of rooms, which is ridiculous and untrue. In essence, that manager questioned my veracity and insulted my intelligencve, which aroused my indignation. Consequently, I cancelled the loan request during that conversation. No appraisal was performed, but a review of my credit card statement revealed that LoanPal had charged $495.00 to my credit card account on May 3, 2018. Naturally, I requested a refund. To date I have not received it. In addition, I received a "Statement of Credit Denial, Termination, or Change", citing "Credit application incomplete," "Inadequate collateral," and "Unacceptable property" as reasons, which is a disservice to me. If LoanPal were fair and just, it would have acknowledged that it was I who cancelled the loan and it would have cited "Insufficient
data - property" due to the fact that no appraisal was performed.
This issue is resolved on our end. CC charge was refunded and denial letter was sent.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

We mistakenly understated the amount of the escrow impound when we established the consumer's account. This miscalculation resulted in a shortage and a subsequent increase in the consumer's monthly payment. Upon discussion with the consumer, he elected to pay the shortage directly and to...
cancel his escrow accounts. As a result, his monthly payment is now lower that it was prior to his refinance. In addition, we sent a refund check to him to cover the late charges he incurred when his payment was insufficient to cover his temporarily higher escrow account. The consumer's reference to being on permanent disability reflects a condition that existed prior to his refinance transaction. Today he is in a better financial situation. To the best of our knowledge, this complaint has been satisfactorily resolved.
I read a lot of negative reviews about this company, but my initial loan officer seemed honest enough so I proceeded. Halfway through the process he apparently didn’t show up for work and they gave me another loan officer who had no idea what had been discussed previously. In addition, I felt extremely pressured to move things along as quickly as possible. When they verbally asked me what I thought my house was worth I told them 370,000. The appraisal actually came in at 384,000. Somehow, they had it in their records that I told them $400,000, which was a blatant lie. I was supposed to be rolling a student loan into the deal but after the fact they told me the appraisal didn’t come in high enough for this. Not at any time did someone actually verbalize this to me before I sat down and signed the hundred pages of documents with a notary who had nothing to do with the company Not at any time did someone actually verbalize this to me. My whole point of this was to be able to roll the student loan in and I would not have proceeded had I known that wasn’t part of it. Very dishonest company, would not recommend them to anyone. I should have gone with ***.

We are very pleased with my service and the refinance loan acquired during the month of April, 2018. Paramount Equity Mortgage, LLC aka LoanPal was very professional and expedient and gave us a great rate that will allow us to pay down our mortgage much quicker than previously anticipated. After reading several negative reviews, we almost didn't go through with it, but found that our experience was exactly what we needed and better than we hoped for. We worked with Matthew A and Melissa O and they were fantastic. Thank you to all at LoanPal!
