I signed up to receive a quote while at a trade fairSomebody called the next day to set up an appointmentAn appointment was set up for the following day after thatMitch Bcame out and spoke with my husband initially, then I came home after they had already been talking for an hour and a halfWe told Mitch that we don't make any major decisions the day ofHe called and was able to get a Factory Direct quote (so once again the magic dollar amount continues to fall) from his boss; we reiterated that we will discuss it and decideBy now, Mitch's attitude has changed and packs upHe asked what we thought would happen when we made the appointment; why weren't we ready to make a decision at this appointment? I told him one thing that would have helped was having LOCAL people who have testimonies for their productAfter he left, both my husband and I expressed our ill feelings towards the situation, we both feel very uncomfortable now after allowing this man into our homeI just wish I had read the other reviews (even nation wide!) prior to setting up this appointment!

I would first like to say that the product itself, while it's only been on my house for a month and it was past the leaf/rainy season, seems high quality. I have no issue with the product currently. My issues are first, with the salesman , second with the customer service department and third, with the manager's handling of my complaint. First, the salesman: he was pleasant and worked with me to find a price and financing that I would afford and I appreciate that. I did feel somewhat pressured, as he offered several different prices and interest free financing that was first 6 months, then 1 year, then 2 years and ultimately 5 years. I agreed to the 5 years interest free financing, even though I wasn't really looking to have a monthly payment (my neighbor, however, is 80 and gets on my roof to clean my gutters and I felt I needed to do something about that!). I signed the contract and the work was done the next week (although the salesman had promised it would be done the next day and didn't answer my phone calls when it wasn't done for several days). A week later, I was surprised to receive a credit card in the mail. It was from a familiar credit card company. It had a credit limit 3 times the amount of the cost of the leaf guard and installation. I was completely stunned and upset. I had not been informed that by signing up for financing, that I would be signing up for a home improvement card with a large credit limit. I assumed (admittedly naively so) that I was signing up for financing through a bank for the exact amount of my purchase and not 3 times the amount. I have financed other large purchases in my life (home, car, school loans) and those have always been for the stated price and did not come with a credit limit 3 times the amount of the purchase. The salesman didn't mention this. It was not written anywhere on the contract. I felt mislead and it made me feel like I had made a purchase that I shouldn't have. I contacted the salesman directly and he did not return my call. I called the main office 4 or 5 times. Each time, I spoke with a person who sounded helpful. They assured me I would receive a call back from a manager. However, after several weeks of not receiving a call back, I made yet another call and had to demand to speak to a manager about my concern. The manager got on the phone and I could tell from the beginning that this was going to be a challenge. First, he simply answered "this is...". He didn't explain who he was and didn't ask how he could help. I explained the purpose of my call (to express my concern that his salesman is not providing his clients with full, accurate information). The manager looked my information up. The next thing he said was "I see your account and that you got a very, very heavy discount. So what is your complaint exactly?". I explained again that I did not appreciate being signed up for a line of credit without full details. I made sure to highlight that I realized I was given a generous discount and that the product seems to be good, but that making a purchase like this does not feel good when you find out your weren't given all the information. His responses included: "90% of home projects are attached to a credit card"; "if you know anything about how credit works, the credit card company did you a major solid. You should be thankful they gave you such a high credit limit."; "nobody else has ever called with a problem about this"; "i know this is emotional for you. You were charged up from the start" (I was not happy that I had called several times without a call back and then was being treated like I was making a big deal about nothing); "look lady, you got an email from the credit card company 5 minutes after signing the paperwork"; "you got a good product with a great discount. I can't believe you are calling to complain". The manager completely defended his salesman. Again, I was confused. I couldn't believe I was essentially being told that it isn't a big deal to be signed up for a credit card--and that actually I should be thankful for a large line of credit. Not once did the manager apologize or offer to talk to his salesman to clear this up. It was upsetting and again makes me feel like I made a poor purchase. I do hope that come spring, I will be happy to have the product on my home, but I can't in good faith recommend this company because of the dishonesty and later the way customer service handled my concern.

When setting up the original appointment, the lady was very pleasant and accommodating. The salesman arrived a half hour earlier than expected and waited patiently until he saw me at the front of the house. At no time did I feel any high pressure. In fact, he was very pleasant to deal with. I did review the product before hand and looked at the example he brought with. Having done construction I could tell the materials were well constructed and placement of supports every 8 inches allows for a sturdy install of the top materials. I have not had it installed as yet due to scheduling. However, it's scheduled for about two weeks from now. There was no unpleasant response from the salesman for the delay. These folks work on commission, so not making a sale can be frustrating. It's unfortunate that some people has salespersons who apparently unprofessional. When the install occurs I will be present to supervise the work to make sure it's done according to their advertised method. When it's completed I will write another review regarding the install.

Norman,
I apologize for your experience and I will be getting this to management. We want you to be a satisfied customer as that is what we strive for! If you need anything further please contact our Service Department at 1-800-749-4566.

I did not hire this company because of the pressure to hire that day. Although the salesman knew I had other people coming over the next 2 days, he still said that his visit here was pointless because I wasn't closing with him. He wouldn't leave a written estimate, said that that's not what he does, that he closes deals........even though the website advertises free estimates. I asked if I were to choose his company, I'd have to go through all this again, and he said, "Pretty much." I said, "So you just wasted my time?" And he said that I had wasted HIS time because he had to drive out here. As he was leaving, he told me to have a nice day, and when I didn't say anything (my jaw was still on the ground), he said that I didn't have to be rude. Ahem. He said they are an A+ rating with the Revdex.com because they have not had a complaint in the last 3 consecutive years. Clearly a lie. False advertising. High-pressure sales. I really hope other people read these reviews before calling on this company. I did not file a complaint because the salesman's attitude did not fit in the Revdex.com's complaint categories.

Had leaf filter installed last summer and was lied to by the high pressure sales guy. Was told it was interest free financing. Was never even given a credit app nor was any mention of financing from another source mentioned. Shortly after two shaddy guys showed up and put on the leaf filter. They then demanded a credit card from my wife. We explained that we opted for the 18 month free financing. At that point the threats began that we either fill out a credit app or else. However, the sales guy said it was in house financing by leaf filter when it really was outsourced.
That was just the beginning. The first rain and one guard blew off. I went up on a ladder and realized that the filters were installed completely opposite to how all of their fancy promotional material states. They claim never to disturb shingles or the roof warranty will be voided. They disturbed my shingles, they put screws through the patented filter screen, and over tightened the filters warping my gutters. They finally sent a service tech out whom-was a nice guy. He was livid that the sub contractors who installed the filters didn’t install them correctly and that they overtightened them causing my existing gutters to warp which resulted in water pooling up and explained that now he had to try and fix them which was going to eat up his entire day. To top it off the installers also installed the filters without even cleaning my extremely clogged gutters as promised in the initial sales pitch. In fact, the service tech left me a voicemail listing every error the subs made. He stated he repaired some issues to the best of his ability and cleaned them but that I needed to call his boss Mike Wilkins and figure out a solution to get my gutters back to 100% since he was unable. It has been over a year now and I am currently fighting this company in court. They offered a $10,000 dollar settlement but the story gets more complex. Winter arrives last year and due to the horrible install my bottom row of shingles have curled up what I can only refer to as looking like an eyelash. The gutters are no longer draining properly and the filters now are causing ice damming all the way up to the peaks of my roof. It has caused leaking in my house and my newly textured painted interior walls are cracking from the water. I’ve had numerous reputable roofers come and look at the problem and they all concur that my roof is shot which had quite a life span still left before Leaf Filter screwed it up. I also have 4 sky lights that leak due to the ice damning from the filters.
Recently the service tech who they sent to try and rectify the problem last year Jamie called me directly stating that he left the company and explained to me that they messed up my house big time and that if their other customers had any idea of how shotty their filters had been installed as well that the company would be getting sued left and right. He also explained that many elederly get this product and have no idea that the issues their installers are causing are going to have long lasting negative effects on their homes.
As I stated I have called numerous very reliable roofing companies that inspected the job and all are in agreement that I now need a new roof and gutters, etc.....
This has been a nightmare from day one which still continues. Call another company to have gutter protection installed is all I can advise. I have learned that your best bet is to go through an actual roofing company and that most offer this service as well. That way you know you will receive a professional
job. With this company the customer is always wrong it seems. Google their reviews and you will discover the majority of people have had a negative experience with the company, Their franchises, and the product. I wasn’t going to leave a review but after the rain we received tonight and the water coming into my home I just could not control my frustration any longer. I am in the middle of a court battle as I write this but I don’t care. I wanna ensure that no one else is faced with my dilemma. Buyer beware is all I can say.

We certainly feel this review to be unfortunate. The customer has not provided any documentation to support his claims of damages. We also find it concerning that the customer was not requesting or allowing any remedies until a claim for payment was filed as no payment has been made. Should the customer wish to again discuss resolution we would encourage him to call

The Leaf Filter product was said to never clog. This is why I wanted it on my house.
Needed to have this on the second story, so I would not have to climb up the ladder
again to clean gutters. I had them come back twice to clean gutters but the next time thy will charge me. What a scam. The leafs collect where the valley meets the
gutter. They claimed that the wind would clear it when it dried out or the rain would
push it off. Didn't happen. I would be great to get money back.

To my surprise the Leaf Filter people have sent someone out to
take another look at the problem. We shall see what happens.

LeafFilter Response • Aug 15, 2018

We met with the customer yesterday and worked into the evening. Based upon the report from the field we were able to remedy the issues and please the customer.

Customer Response • Aug 15, 2018

Service person was at my home yesterday. He made some changes to the filter. The proof will be with the fall season and
how this will effect the system. Don't believe my one star rating
is now fair, I would have to move it up so now that this was done.
I would say three stars would only be fair.

Customer Response • Aug 15, 2018

I am happy to say that the LeafFilter person stopped out yesterday
and made some changes to what was on the gutters. Now we will
have to see what happen this fall when the leaves fall. Until then
I would like to upgrade the star system to three stars. Bob G.

We have been working with the customer to address the issues they reported and had a service technician there last week to make any needed repairs and inspect the system.  We have confirmed with the customer that the most recent visit was positive in reference to the work that was done as well...

as the technician that performed the work and now the customer is just looking forward to a much needed rain.

To whom it may concern,The customer has had the product on her home since 2009.  In 2013 she called in for service and was quoted a fee to service the issue and she was upset about the fee.  When I spoke with her the other day, she has NOT called in for service except for one time in 2013....

We are going out on Monday, October 12th, to service the job at no cost to her.  This was the only day she requested based on her availablilty  Respectfully,

I had leaf filter installed on my home 2/28/18 I have nothing but problems with ice. These filters do not let the water in. I have called them 4 or 5 times and they send a tech but they just keep saying there is oil on the screen. They said it will wash off with rain. It has been raining and snowing quite a bit the last 2 weeks and they still don't work. They did send a tech out who said he was going to power wash them but did not wash them. I believe these gutter filters are not made for our areas. The water cannot get through the screening. I was also lied to regarding the price. The first offer was approx. $14,000. then when I said that was to much the Sales man said I can give them to you with discount in the amount of $7,200. If I put their yard sign out in front of my house for a month. After talking to other people including some of their employees I was told I paid way to much.

LeafFilter Response • Apr 24, 2018

We have performed follow up service at the customer's home and inspected the system. We found the LeafFilter system to be installed properly and operating as designed. We did also powerwash the system for the customer's satisfaction. We have not found any snow or ice issues caused by the LeafFilter installation. We have additional information available if the customer would like to review regarding why ice dams form on some homes (usually due to inadequate roof ventilation or attic insulation, insufficient ice shield, etc.) and normal gutter guard performance in winter. If the customer is interested in receiving those materials, please email us at *** with their case number in the subject line. In conclusion, we have provided the product and services as contracted and confirmed the installation was done properly. We have not declined to service the installation as needed, including performing a powerwash today for the customer's satisfaction.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.] I will not accept their response. I will wait until it rains or snows to see if I have the water flowing over the top of the screening. I do have pictures which shows how the water goes over the top and creates ice all around my home. Any walkway and steps are impossible to walk on when this happens. I want the leaf filter removed from my gutters so I do not have this problem this coming winter. If they do not want to give me a full refund I will settle for 75% return.

Regards

Customer Response • May 04, 2018

To whom it may concern,This is an update on my complaint. The company came out and power washed the gutter pieces they installed on my gutters. They are still leaking with the heavy rain we just had. Mike from the company just called me and said that is all they can do. They said the product was installed properly and they will not take them off my house as I requested and will not give any refund. I want them taken off my house. My gutters never leaked like they are now. It looks like I will have to hire someone else to take them off my house and forget about any refund. I guess I just been taken to the cleaners by this company Leaf Filter.

LeafFilter Response • May 16, 2018

We are scheduled for senior level inspection this coming Tuesday, 5/22. We are inspecting to investigate the customer's reported concerns relating to colder weather. The customer has relayed that the product is currently operating well during the warm season.

Customer Response • May 21, 2018

The company is coming out again on Tuesday the May 22. The gutters are still leaking water over the edges. I cannot let you know if the main problem I am complaining about will be solved until winter when the water leaking over the edges will be freezing and causing to build up on the ground, steps and doorways.

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Yes the work was completed they did offer a compensation.  But on Monday 8/29/16 a gentleman came out to inspect the work as my gutters needed to be repitched as they  do not drain well and it was stated to me on Saturday Aug 27th that they were fine.  I am waiting for a response from Leaf Filter as to when the work will be corrected.  I am planning to call them to day to see if they have a plan of action to correct the gutters.Regards,[redacted]

We have been in contact with the customer both before and after this complaint was registered. We have reached an amicable solution and we have installed her product and inspected it for quality control. We have provided the contracted product and services and the customer has expressed...

satisfaction. Please consider this matter closed.

I spoke with Zach yesterday and he stated the work was done and I will accept  that even though I am unable to climb a ladder to check.  Zach stated they did a water flow check.  Thank you for your time.Sincerely,[redacted]

Two years ago I had the product installed with the understanding that they would repitch the gutters to ensure good drainage & re-enforce the gutters with new brackets as part of theur service & that it was under a lifetime warranty that tranfered with the house if ever sold. Just this week we has some storms & noticed on the rop tear of our house the gutter twisted of the front of our house as if the brakets broke loose from the weight of the water. I called to make a claim & they told me they will come out & review the damage & give us a statement for our insureance. Im not happy about this because I feel the services promised at insulation were not carried out. They didn't check the level of the gutters so the water pooled in a low spot in the middle of the gutter & I dont see any brackets on the gutters at all they just punched screws through the back side of the gutter into the sophet of the house & the screws ripped out from the weight in the gutter. Plus it says that all claims would be handled within 24 hours & they cant make it out till next week when we have mire storms coming in & my gutter is bent above a wire on my house. I want them to fix it how it should have be installed in the first place & at their expanse cause it was not put in properly as detailed out in the agreement that I signed. If they cant abid by these requests then I want the product removed & to be fully re-embursed for the full cost of the system. I have pictures of the current damage on my house & even crawled onto the roof for pictures of the lack of supports.

I was looking to find someone to clean out my house gutters. I am 64 years old and cannot climb up a ladder to clean out the gutters. I used a local service to find a business that would clean out the gutters. The service brought up Leaffilter company. The next day a person came to our house and gave us the information on his product called Leaffilter. He told us that with this product we would never have to have our gutters cleaned out again. This sounded like a great idea so we bought the product. However not even a month has gone by and yes there is nothing in the gutter but the top of the leaffilter is nearly plugged! So now we will have to have someone come out and clean the top of the gutter! I believe the salesperson misrepresented the issue to us, we traded having to clean out the gutters to having to clean out the top of the gutter. The price charged was very high and the service does not solver the problem we thought it would.

Service is scheduled 6/29
