This place has no customer service. They have no appreciation for there customers. I have called there corp office and cant get any help there. Keep getting told they will have someone call me and never do!! I wondered why they were never busy but now I can see why!!
Tonight the unthinkable happened to me... the GM of the Bethel Park, PA LA Fitness called the police and lied to get them to the gym. Here's the story: I arrived at the gym as I always have for the past 4-5 years with my pink gym bag (I've had the same bag now since I started my membership) I scanned the card on my phone and walked upstairs to the weight area. I don't typically frequent this particular location but did so tonight to save time. I got upstairs, folded my coat into my bag and got in line for the next available squat rack. All I needed to do tonight was squat, 5 sets of 8 and I was out and ready for CrossFit tomorrow. After about 5-10 minutes a girl (the operations manager) came up to me and wanted me to place my bag in a locker and I told her I didn't want to. She and I had the exact same exchange multiple times before she walked away. About 10 minutes later (I only had two sets of 8 left now) the GM comes up to me and starts harassing me about my bag. I had had enough of the harassment at this point and asked if I was violating any corporate policies involving my membership and he replied "you're violating my rules". He obviously thinks a lot of himself to assume that he can independently develop rules outside of the LA Fitness Corporate office. So I simply said "Let's call corporate right now together and if they say I can't have my bag then I'll take it to my car or wherever" and then he said "You can call corporate, I'm calling the police" I said "you should" and continued to dial corporate. Please realize that this was IN THE MIDDLE of the gym floor at a very busy hour. Once on the phone with corporate, they told me I'm doing nothing wrong and that while they prefer bags in lockers there is no rule against bags, they then told me to tell Wynn to call them using the corporate line. So at this point I had my coat on, I wasn't going to continue to stay in a place where I didn't feel safe and was being harassed and the manager had used intimidation tactics in an attempt to get me to bow down to him, so I was leaving on my own but had to deliver the message from corporate on my way out. As I passed him near the door I said "Corporate said I'm doing nothing wrong however I'm still leaving and they want you to call them on the corporate line". He told me he isn't calling them, he said that he spoke to his regional VP [redacted] (who I know from being the GM at another location) and that the police are on their way. I said fine, we exchanged some polite insults and I left and went to my car to call corporate back. Within minutes the police were there and knocking on my car window and the truth comes out that he told them I refused to leave after he asked me to which is a bald faced lie. I still can't believe a business would treat a customer this way, I'm a loyal quiet customer (now former) and I want to make sure that no other gym goer is harassed, insulted, intimidated and lied about to the authorities as I was tonight.
Management contacted [redacted] regarding her concerns with the freeze request for her monthly billed membership. [redacted] states that when she requested the freeze on her membership, she was...
unaware of the $10 freeze fee billed monthly. As a courtesy, we have issued a refund in the amount of $30 back to the checking account on file and processed a cancellation per [redacted]’ request on 11/15/2016.
Typically refunds take 7-10 business days to complete. We believe this matter to be resolved. Thank you.
This review is for the location of LA Fitness at Huntington Park CA
This place is a real joke, messy, dirty, a lot of machines broken, missing equipment, zero gym etiquete, equipment all over the place
A total lack of management, staff just care about their personal matter or the status on their social media since they spent most of the time on their cellphones, specially this guys who suppose to guard the parking.
A lot of new people who doesn't know how to properly use gym equipment and they just take everything from the racks and leave nothing to use for the rest of the memebers
So dissapointed about this place. If you are planning to enroll at this facility, please, think twice, this place doesn't deserve your money
We have been going to LA Fitness for over a year and a half and to yesterday was the last. The sales representative Samual was very rude and very unprofessional!! He was very disrespectful to my wife and very sarcastic to her. Samual needs to be educated on discrimination as well. I had taken my son one night who is 13 but very small for his age. We were approached by Samual one night not in a professional manner at all in regards to getting him a pass because he did not see we had one and also made a comment about his age not knowing he was 13. I did not let my son come back with me until yesterday at that time I had a guest pass for him. Another staff approached us in a very professional manner being sent over by Samual who approached us right after. I let him know we had a guest pass and he then said the age was 14 when we were told it was 13 and proceeded to let us know very sarcastically how annoyed he was. Not only was it Sam but a few other staff had approached us about my son's age assuming he was 10 and who already has a low self esteem due to being bullied about his size. Another family who has a 12 year old son attending LA Fitness is not bothered by staff due to him being taller and looks older. They say they have a policy but only seem to enforce it with my family. I will not return to a gym where my wife and I were completely disrespected by Samual! It sucks because that is our home gym but this was uncalled for and my wife should not have left in tears because of his jabs and sarcastic attitude. I will take my family and friends to mountain side!

As a member of LA Fitness, I found the facilities located at 1035 Parkford Dr, Redlands, CA 92374 to be uncleanly. The facilities always smelt horrible. In addition, the staff there is very much into pressuring you into purchasing their services. The pressure you until the point of discomfort making it difficult to walk out of the facilities and leave until you pay for something. On top of that, the mens room of the facility is always dirty with paper towels on the floor. The machines are always broken. When trying to quit the gym, the manager you need to speak to is never there and they want you to mail a form in to quit. When you mail the form in, it gets "lost in the mail".
My experience with LA Fitness has been extremely negative. I was mislead about the length and terms of the personal training sessions, subject to aggressive sales tactics, was told to sign up for a multi-club service in case I relocated to New York, and was shown small print on a small tablet screen, but not the entire agreement before being asked to sign. When I tried calling the Hamden, CT location to cancel when I was planning to move, I was told multiple times that there was no one available to speak with me. When I went to an LA Fitness location in New York, I was told that they would not honor the Agreement that I had signed in Connecticut and would need to pay more money if I wanted to still access LA Fitness. Therefore, I could no longer access the personal training sessions to which I had agreed. One member of the personal training department in New York informed me that if I wanted to get out of the Agreement, I would need to die. It was also extremely difficult to obtain a printed copy of the agreement. I was first told that there was no record of the Agreement, and had to speak with multiple people in multiple locations to get a copy. As such, my interactions with LA Fitness were very upsetting. Do not support this dishonorable company.
I attempted to add my son to my "family" plan in May 2016 and was blatantly lied to by the manager at the time, "Canole". He told me I had to pay a transfer fee of ~$85 (plus tax), and that my son would be added and my wife dropped rom the plan in about 30 days. Turns out he just signed up my son for his own membership and never had any intentions of telling us. Completely corrupt and spineless. When I called corporate I got no support. LA Fitness corporate is terrible and has no customer service.
Do not Do not sign up with this gym. This place is filled with nothing but lies. First off [redacted] the so called personal trainer will tell you lies in order to get you signed up with a contract based personal training session and will not inform you that it is a contract and charge 50% of the 12 month contract to cancel. When shown text messages of the lies he tells upper manager and so called Vps do nothing to change there selling antacis. They just tell you to sign and will not show you the contracts before hand and even when you look afterwards he will tell you oh you can cancel at anytime...lies lies lies. You pay for what you get and I wish I could have chose a more private facility. Until they fix this issue I will be sure to warn others online and in the gym so that no one else gets bamboozled as I did. AThis review is fir the Indianapolis In Pendleton pike location
As a disabled resident of Deerfield beach Florida, I was shocked and disappointed at the way I was treated at the their location in Deerfield.
I was unaware when I arrived that the location had been closed for renovations. When I asked why I was not notified by email the receptionist was very rude to me. After insisting that I speak with a manager she finally told me to "SHUT UP AND GET OUT!!!!!" She even repeated it several times. I was in a state of shock that they would employ someone like that. Upon leaving, a maintenance guy approached me with comforting words while he related to me that he over heard what she said to me.
I filed a complaint with the cooperate office. Waiting for a response.
Never have I been so embarrassed. After arriving home I realized that my blood pressure had gotten extremely high because of the stress this caused me.
In addition, I do plan to contact other city officials to let them know the kind of service LA Fitness renders to their members.
I recently had a terrible experience at the LA Fitness at 7044 22nd Ave N in Saint Petersburg, FL 33710. I was chatting with “the manager” Kayla (she refused to give her last name or employee ID) on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at around 5:30 PM and I presented the guest pass that I received online. She started off very courteous and gave me a tour of the club, but once I mentioned that I was planning on taking advantage of an online offer and signing up for membership online, she became rude and refused to activate my guest pass. It seems to me that she has not had proper training on dealing with potential customers. If I’m treated like an unwelcomed burden when I’m just considering membership, I can’t even imagine how paying members must be treated. Though after my experience, I did see quite a large number of complaints online about the customer experience at LA Fitness. I’m glad that I got to experience it before becoming a member.
I have Issues and unprofessional help from day 1, This is a gym that claims to be at a higher level than other gyms in any area but the staff that works there forget to carry themselves as such, The manager who helped me sign up was on the phone with his friend why helping me, the trainer assigned to my first hour did not show up. Then managers after that did not serve any purpose or wanted to help rectify the issue. Instead they gave me a 1800 that is a dead end, where you can reach a human unless you knew their extension. This is a joke, how can a business who claims to be avobe others get away with treating clients this way. Ask your self do you want to belong to this type of association ?
In my first week of joining this gym, I was falsely accused of being a personal trainer and advertising to their patrons. This was after I'd declined to use their personal trainers. Their sales guy, [redacted] and [redacted]- the personal trainer that did my free session ( you get one when you sign up) decided to interrupt my workout to harass me with accusations of being a personal trainer.I am NOT a personal trainer and followed up with their operations manager [redacted]. He was not helpful at all.I followed up with their customer relations department and they said [redacted] would apologize. That hasn't happened and most likely, it never will. This is not the gym for you if you're in shape and don't need their trainers.Shame on you La fitness at 121 and Preston rd!
This LA Fitness is located directly across the street from my employer. I was happy when they decided to partner with us, and offered a no initiation fee, and a free 2-week trial membership. What they didn't tell us up front was the trial membership began from the day they gave the vouchers to our company, not the day an individual began using. On the sign-up day, I went in to ask questions, and the salesperson [redacted] was highly aggressive in his sales tactics, both with myself, and other employees. He was unable to provide a copy of the sales agreement, and had us signing contracts on a very obviously photocopies paper. He said that we would see the first and last months draft beginning 30 days from the date we signed up.
Imagine my surprise when the very next day, the monies were out of my account! That, and he signed me up for personal training without my consent! After talking with some coworkers about how shady our experience had been, we decided to cancel. I walked in and spoke to someone at the front desk, requesting to speak to a manager. She said one was not available. I said I was here to cancel my membership, and she took down my information and said I would see a refund of fees within 14 business days (ironic, considering how fast they took my money!). I did receive an e-mail that night confirming my request. I spoke to someone at my bank, to make sure the fees were returned.
LA Fitness tried to deny my claim with the bank, saying I had to provide something IN WRITING to cancel my membership, even though the lady at the front desk cancelled my membership that day for me. This place is too shady and has too many rules for me to want to even reconsider doing business with them.
Beware, do not sign a personal trainer contract unless you can get there employees to put in writing that there are special circumstances on why you can cancel early. in addition if your trainer leaves or is sick they will state they will not charge you for a session and then do. I once was double charged a session because my trainer was not there. How the heck are you will two trainers at one time? Answer your not but they like to cheat you out of paid sessions. Now back to special circumstance when first signing up they said it's okay that your only down here for a few months at a time we can work with you. So I signed the contract. However, when the time came for me to be away for a few months they stated they would freeze my account instead of cancelling it and I wouldn't be billed until I unfroze the account. Two credit card charges later I cancelled the membership and put stop payments since the manager who promised me the freeze ignored all phone calls. However I then get a letter stating I have to honor this contract and pay the two stop payments ignoring all verbal contracts with manager. All I can say is stay far away from anything they want to charge you extra for then just using the gym.
Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to...
complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

When I first went in I liked the gym itself not the people but the gym I liked the fact it had a raquetball court. I signed up to meet with a personal trainer his name was [redacted] who I later found out was the director. In the beginning he was really nice and seemed to genuinely care about what I was trying to accomplish. I decided to sign up for what I thought was a month to month membership. When I was signing the electronic pin pad I thought I was signing for a waiver if I was injured and permission to remove funds from my account. It was until later when I called to cancel a session was I told I was under contract. The personal trainer was suppose to call me back to reschedule my training session this was in Thursday I called everyday until Monday when I finally got a hold of [redacted] and asked about the 24 hour cancellation and the contract. Over the phone he was very nice and said he's the one that decides if I lose that session and he decides no I wouldn't and for me to come in on Wednesday and we would "double up" when I got there in Wednesday he was acting different..angry he proceeded to start chastising and yelling at me and then said he was gonna go ahead and cancel my membership he was mad I wasn't in my workout clothes although my bag was in my hand and I had just gotten there from work. After he attempted to cancel my membership he then said he couldn't and I needed to call corporate which I did. The first women I spoke with was awful less than empathetic and caring and kept telling me what I sined and what he went over and insisted he showed me the computer screen and sent me an email. None of this was the case [redacted] and my husband where talking about various things and so none of this happened. I also didn't recieve a copy of my contract. The 2 nd person I spoke with was very helpful and I was able to cancel my contract. Needless to say the only thing I lost from this gym was self esteem
LA fitness has lost my business because they do not care about anything but making a profit, and they are flat out manipulative.
For starters I do not like their high pressure sales tactics and relentless pressure to try a session with a personal trainer. Which I refuse to do after I had a very bad experience with a personal trainer who pushed me too hard, was not sensitive to my needs, and made me cry in front of the entire gym after falling down and embarrassing myself on a machine I was not ready for. (At a Pittsburgh, PA location)
The Rochester location has made me especially mad, because not only did I notice how no one wipes the machines down I'm guessing because of the lack of towels, and lack of signs asking you to do so, I found out I was not told the whole truth when I signed up. That I was paying extra for court rental and guest privileges, when I was told it was included in my package.
I had a situation out of my hands come up, and I had to move back to Pennsylvania one week after signing up, but couldn't get a refund because the refund window is 3 days. I would have transferred but the LA fitness closest to my PA apartment is a signature club, so I would have needed to pay MORE money to use that location. Then an employee told me I was paying extra fees for court usage and guest privileges that we could take off to knock down the price.
I ended up cancelling my membership over the phone, and they still charged me for another month saying that they told me to come in to the Rochester location in person, which they absolutely never said to me.
I would have kept my membership at the beginning and even paid the extra fee to use the gym nearest my house, because I like that location and the gym is very nice and up to date. until I realized how little they care about their customers as anything more than a profit.
You've lost my business LA fitness. I am infuriated at the way I was treated, And I will be going out of my way to warn everyone I talk to, to stay far far away from your business.
Stay away from LA Fitness if you want to avoid those recurring costs on your credit card. My wife and I have been trying to cancel the membership for the past 2 months and even though my wife said that she could not come over to the gym due to a medical condition, the manager refused to cancel the membership.
LA Fitness in bridgewater,Oh is the shadiest business ever. I was lured there by telling me my friend had recommended me for a free one week membership. I thought to myself, I'll try it out for a week....I was given a tour after arriving to the gym today. The gym was nice. They sat me down to discuss payment options. They showed me 3 different plans. One for $99 down and $40 a month, one for $150 and $35 a month, and one for $250 down and $30 a month. I told them that I hadn't planned on joining today and I just wanted to try the free membership. They kept pressing me about joining today. I told them I wanted to join only if it was ok with my cousin. They offered to take $50 off the $250 initiation and make it $25 a month. I said I dont know I'm not ready to join, I'll take a picture of the prices and consult with my cousin. They told me I couldn't take a picture or take a copy of the prices. They talked to me for like 20 minutes. They promised me the same deal for my cousin. It seemed like a good at the time. So I agreed, I know I'm stupid. Once I got home, it just didn't feel right. I looked up the prices of initiation and most people paid $99 or $0 down and $30 a month anyway! Even on LA Fitness website for bridgewater it says the initiation is $99! Luckily my mom told me about the 3 day law in Ohio to cancel. I gave the paper work to them later tonight. However, I need to go back to follow up cause I don't trust them.
