Worst place! They don't make you feel comfortable at all. For starters when you walk in sometimes they don't even check if you are a member or not. They have poor disposition and poor interest in regards to help people with disabilities. Since they have a room for kids I wanted to take my high function autistic child. I called to find out what can be done with bringing my child's therapist along. The front desk sounded confused of what I was telling her and transfered me to management. I spoke to the supervisor and she seemed awkward of my request at first. I explained according to the law people with disabilities have rights. She then asked for us to give a letter with information of therapist along with therapist wearing a badge of where she works at. When I arrived they did not except my letter and had the therapist stay outside the room I was outrage because I did my part to bring the information. Since then I have gone couple times and the therapist stay outside the room. I went yesterday and the front desk clerk, she rudely said that the therapist could not be there at all. I said yes she can and she will, according to the law people with disabilities have the same rights. This place has so much issues that I will complain to COO regarding how bad this company's staff and facilities has become.

We I signed up, I was given a free day with a personal trainer. After completing the first day, the personal trainer try to convince me into signing up for the weekly personal trainer session. I told them I I didn't know if I was going to have the money. He had me sign the paperwork to hold me in at a select a great and told me he would hold the paperwork till the following day when I knew if I was going to have the money or not. When he called me, I told him I was not going to have the money to be able to do it. He went through and process the paperwork and now I'm getting a phone call telling me that I owed them thousands of dollars for a personal trainers that I could not do that to begin with and they are trying to collect. Extremely corrupt business.

Awful customer service. I've been going to the LA fitness in Winter Park, FL for well over a year now. The service has been sub par at best and recently they started kicking people out of the training area. I was doing my own personal workout there when all of a saddening of their private trainers came up to.me and told me to leave. I asked what the issue was and she said that the area was for their paying private session customers only. I asked if I was in their way since I was already off to the side. She said no, but I was not allowed to be there when they had paying customers. Never in my life had I felt like such a second class citizen. If I wasn't using any of their equipment but merely needed a place to stretch and wasn't in their way, why do couldn't I use that area. Because I didn't want to I didn't feel that no needed to PAY extra for personal training? This is totally unacceptable for today's standard of customer service. I even went to the front desk to complain about the attitude of the personal trainer, but was just told that it was their policy. Unbelievable!

I attempted many times to try and cancel our account. Since have given up because everytime I walk into a gym they find new ways to try and keep me as a customer. When I clearly have no intention of keeping the membership. They have made my life a living hell when all I wanted to do was cancel...

I shouldn't have to threaten a harassment lawsuit to get them to leave me alone. They won't let me cancel, then they try and say "Oh you can cancel by submitting a form that you've signed, but you have the pay the balance first."
I'm sorry I will not pay a balance that should have never been accrued. They wouldn't let me cancel. I want to talk to company representatives not slimy salesman.

Now they are calling me and my husband 10-15 times a day. I have had enough and have since told them to never contact me again. This is my last straw.

I will not pay a balance due on something that should have never been accrued. I should have been able to cancel. I get they are on commission but at some point they need to learn when enough is enough and just stop with the salesman's antics and talk to their consumers as human beings not dollar signs.

LA Fitness enables thieves to rob their members. I was robbed at LA Fitness Westchester location on Mar 19, 2016- which I initially regarded as terrible luck and out of their control, but was later corrected.
That location's manager, Johnson, froze my account for two months at my request. During that same request, I asked that my membership barcode be deactivated. He stated that LA Fitness was keeping the barcodes active in attempts to apprehend the thieves. I began to wonder if the thief was enabled to rob me that day and after being told by the LAPD it had been an ongoing issue, I had my answer.
To rub salt into the wound, I was called five times between April 12-14 (a sixth time on April 15 before receiving a call from a manager) to pay membership dues. Each time I explained that my account was frozen & the credit card on file was stolen (deactivated). It wasn't until I emailed LA Fitness that a customer service manager, Dennis, called me and reassured me he would freeze my account & send a confirmation email of the same- after pressing me for a current credit card. I repeatedly told him I was uncomfortable providing a new card until the membership was active again (due to the lack of communication within their own company), but he insisted it was necessary to keep my membership and place it on hold. I caved and provided the new information with the reassurance nothing would be charged and I would receive email confirmation of our conversation.
It was charged May 7. I requested the email confirmation on the 10th. Morning of May 11th, I received a curt reply that it was sent to an email address that was not mine, nor remotely close to mine. I have no idea how the two could have been mistaken for one another.
I got on the phone to speak with a manager, Lola, who placed me on hold for over ten minutes to confirm the events & provided a blanket, "he says he's sorry for the inconvenience," and stated the amount withdrawn from May 7 would be refunded and they would provide a, "complimentary," freeze until August. I asked to have that refunded and a pro-rated refund of my absurdly high initiation fee, which was immediately shut down.
Even if members can ignore the astonishing levels of inadequacy, I should warn any potential members that the reason my account was reactivated was because one of the thieves used it on April 9th to rob another person. LA Fitness could have prevented another person being victimized and didn't even take precautions, but actively enabled the thief to do so.

Don't even try enrolling into this garbage of a place, they sign you up take your money for a different package and never ever deliver, not only the frontdesk or the district manager but the corporate headquarters. Theirs is a money making business, who encourage their staff to lie to their customers and do business, take money from them and never deliver. Absolute rip off. Please don't go there or you will be cheated, lied to tricked inot signing something that they will never deliver and no action will be taken against the employee who engage in such practice infact there will be consequence to that employee but they will let their costumer suffer or let go. So WARNING FOR EVERYONE WHO ARE THINKING ABOUT ENROLLING INTO LA FITNESS, TOMS RIVER, NEW JERSEY. SAVE YOURSELF AND DONT MAKE THE MISTAKE I MADE.

I called in the billing line and got a rep that is in California name Kelley and she was so rude and impolite. I requested to have the payment moved from my account before my checking account is charged. She refused to help me and then went on being Irate not caring about anything that I was saying and then telling me the wrong information refusing to change my payment method. I was stressing to the rep the importance of having my information updated and she kept avoiding and passing me alone and customer avoiding me. I waited forever for her to help me and then she passed me on to someone else without letting me know and it was a new girl and then the new girl hung up on me and I had to call back in. After all this is set and done NOW my bank was overdrawn and had my scheduled payments to be decline and received huge return penalties on my bills, bank, rent etc. I talk to her supervisor that call me the next day that stated that I was not going to be billed and I was still bill. They literally stole from me and put me in a bad bind. NOT to mention that the supervisor of the rep showed no empathy at all about the situation as well and placed me on a long hold. This was the most horrific situation ever. I use to love LA but I am so considering going to Planet Fitness or somewhere else if this is not resolved. I will keep you all posted on the outcome.

Joined the gym in Boynton Beach, Florida in September 2015. Noticed it was not very clean - pool, pool deck, locker room floor, showers, and lockers. For example, I swam four days in a row with the same band-aid stuck to the pool wall. Hair stuck to the wall of a shower stall would still be there the following morning. I called after a few weeks asking for the area to be cleaned better/more often. No change. After the start of the new year, it got worse. The pool area reeked some mornings. The locker room was literally dirty - you could see sneaker prints in the dirt of the floor. There has been caution tape in from of one of the shower stalls for weeks. I emailed the corporate headquarters begging for improvement so I could continue to use the gym. I received a bland reply two weeks later ("This is not the experience we wish for our customers. I have notified the Operations Manager."). It has been two weeks since that email and no change in cleanliness. The last 3 online reviews for that place of business are the lowest rating and entirely about how dirty the business is. There seems to be no option now but to pay an initiation fee at another gym further away from my home.

I called to cancel a membership off of my family plan. LAF never cancelled and told me they emailed the cancellation forms. BUT they emailed the cancellation forms to the member on my account and not ME. I am a very busy person. These pos's are sm. Do not support these crooks.

"Dear William,
We have made several attempts to bill your membership dues using your current billing information on file but have been unsuccessful. To avoid any interruption to your membership, please update your account below to ensure your billing information is up-to-date."

I received the above email from LA Fitness one month ago, I emailed back to them and told them "I am not William, you got wrong person, please remove my email from your system". Later on, I got phone call from LA Fitness ask William's payment, I told them you called wrong person. After that, I received the same phone call every a few days more than 10 times and drive me crazy . I even be not able to block the phone call because they use different phone number each time. This company is really sucks.

Member Services and Customer Service at LA Fitness is extremely lacking and poor. They are highly non-responsive, largely unwilling to the Client perspective, stand behind their poorly written contracts, and possess very little knowledge about contract law in Canada.
They sell ‘month to month’ member ship agreements and then apply heavy sales pressure to sign up and lock into a one year personal training contract. If you move to an area where there are no LA Fitness clubs, you have to buy out the contract even though as a club that offers “national service”, their contracts have no provision for moving into an area they do not service. Even though they cannot meet the commitment they set out in their contract, by Canadian contract law the contract should be rescinded but it is not; they force you to buy out the contract.
When they do choose to contact you, it is about money only and will even call if you have $0.01 owing on your account due to their own accounting errors.
Their personal trainers, with the exception of one or two, are not highly qualified and do not understand the needs of most people and the training that would be best suited for them.
The clubs are not overly clean and equipment is in a constant state of disrepair. When complaints were made about the lack of cleanliness, it was not reported to the club manager or the operations manager.
The clubs are not monitored to ensure people meet health and safety standards.
