Horrible customer service through outThe Training Manager is beyond himself RUDE and UnprofessionalJerome is not trained in Customer ServiceAll they care about is locking you in on a contract, barely explaining the contract details and then you cant cancel even if it is their fault you still cannot cancelWithout losing all your money that isI tried working things out with the Gym as I was comfortable thereWithout help from the site Managermonths waiting for some Customer Service to only hearI had location optionsAs they still drafted from my account!
If I could give this place a I wouldThis place is a jokeSave yourself the headache and money and go elsewhereCustomer service here is garbage along with their newly promoted general manager, Victor "Bueno"I initially signed up with Kristi, who was the previous GM and she informed me that the other reps are constantly ripping customers off! I was so shocked and disgusted by their lack of integrity that I decided to cancel my membership a week laterThe staff is inconsiderate and unfriendly, they act like they've never seen another human being beforeThe male staff members will eye you down and make you feel like a piece of meat I come to the gym to work out, not feel like a [redacted] ! One of them even approached me as I was leaving and asked me for a ride home! Excuse me?! I've escalated my complaints to corporate but nothing has yet to happenI recently switched over to a cheaper, more generic gym and am so relived I did! This place is a rip-off and not worth the hype whatsoeverPlease do yourself a favor and stay away!
I called in the billing line and got a rep that is in California name Kelley and she was so rude and impoliteI requested to have the payment moved from my account before my checking account is chargedShe refused to help me and then went on being Irate not caring about anything that I was saying and then telling me the wrong information refusing to change my payment methodI was stressing to the rep the importance of having my information updated and she kept avoiding and passing me alone and customer avoiding meI waited forever for her to help me and then she passed me on to someone else without letting me know and it was a new girl and then the new girl hung up on me and I had to call back inAfter all this is set and done NOW my bank was overdrawn and had my scheduled payments to be decline and received huge return penalties on my bills, bank, rent etcI talk to her supervisor that call me the next day that stated that I was not going to be billed and I was still billThey literally stole from me and put me in a bad bindNOT to mention that the supervisor of the rep showed no empathy at all about the situation as well and placed me on a long holdThis was the most horrific situation everI use to love LA but I am so considering going to Planet Fitness or somewhere else if this is not resolvedI will keep you all posted on the outcome
This business is unethical and immoralMy husband and I signed up for personal training as well as a membership with this gymA certain manager in the facility constantly gives me sexual looks and makes me uncomfortable when I go to this gym by myselfClasses that are scheduled have been no call no show several timesAlso, when I asked someone to help me open a locker the individual turned around and told me I don't speak English and continued to talk to his friendsI have had it! I then made a complaint to the "customer service managers" and I was told I have to go by the contract and they have no contract to be ethical and that if I wanted to pay 50% of my personal training fee I could leaveThis place is AWFUL! I now I have no idea how I can even use my servicesThe only resolution they gave me was to drive to a gym minutes away from my homeSo LA Fitness is okay with sexual harrasment as well as racism as I am hispanic and apparently don't speak english
LA Fitness enables thieves to rob their membersI was robbed at LA Fitness Westchester location on Mar 19, 2016- which I initially regarded as terrible luck and out of their control, but was later corrected That location's manager, Johnson, froze my account for two months at my requestDuring that same request, I asked that my membership barcode be deactivatedHe stated that LA Fitness was keeping the barcodes active in attempts to apprehend the thievesI began to wonder if the thief was enabled to rob me that day and after being told by the LAPD it had been an ongoing issue, I had my answer To rub salt into the wound, I was called five times between April 12-(a sixth time on April before receiving a call from a manager) to pay membership duesEach time I explained that my account was frozen & the credit card on file was stolen (deactivated)It wasn't until I emailed LA Fitness that a customer service manager, Dennis, called me and reassured me he would freeze my account & send a confirmation email of the same- after pressing me for a current credit cardI repeatedly told him I was uncomfortable providing a new card until the membership was active again (due to the lack of communication within their own company), but he insisted it was necessary to keep my membership and place it on holdI caved and provided the new information with the reassurance nothing would be charged and I would receive email confirmation of our conversation It was charged May I requested the email confirmation on the 10thMorning of May 11th, I received a curt reply that it was sent to an email address that was not mine, nor remotely close to mineI have no idea how the two could have been mistaken for one another I got on the phone to speak with a manager, Lola, who placed me on hold for over ten minutes to confirm the events & provided a blanket, "he says he's sorry for the inconvenience," and stated the amount withdrawn from May would be refunded and they would provide a, "complimentary," freeze until AugustI asked to have that refunded and a pro-rated refund of my absurdly high initiation fee, which was immediately shut down Even if members can ignore the astonishing levels of inadequacy, I should warn any potential members that the reason my account was reactivated was because one of the thieves used it on April 9th to rob another personLA Fitness could have prevented another person being victimized and didn't even take precautions, but actively enabled the thief to do so
They advertise free personal training when you sign up yet every time I ask about it they claim that there are no personal trainers availableI have left my name and number with a request to be contacted by a personal trainer multiple times yet I have not gotten a single call
LOVE this gym but was disrespected so badly yesterday by one of the trainers "***" I was in the corner on a mat he wanted to use the bench (which there were empty ones) picked up my mat & tossed it to the side out of his wayI laughed and got my weights and walked across the roomFrom the other side of the room he screamed "IS THERE A PROBLEM" with his hands out like he wanted to fight meI didn't even respond just continued my work orderI explained the situation to the manager he said he would speak to himAs I was walking out of the gym he approached me AGAIN to confront and ask me what my problem wasI refuse to be disrespected and intimidated by an egotistic trainerHe made me so uncomfortable that after this month I will no longer be working out at LA and cancel my contractHe shouldn't be allowed to work with people periodAny man that has that much of a lack of respect for women should work in that type of settingHE DID ALL OF THIS IN FRONT OF THE POOR MAN HE WAS TRAININGHe's a disgrace to this gym and as a manShame because everyone else there are good people
Don't even try enrolling into this garbage of a place, they sign you up take your money for a different package and never ever deliver, not only the frontdesk or the district manager but the corporate headquartersTheirs is a money making business, who encourage their staff to lie to their customers and do business, take money from them and never deliverAbsolute rip offPlease don't go there or you will be cheated, lied to tricked inot signing something that they will never deliver and no action will be taken against the employee who engage in such practice infact there will be consequence to that employee but they will let their costumer suffer or let goSo WARNING FOR EVERYONE WHO ARE THINKING ABOUT ENROLLING INTO LA FITNESS, TOMS RIVER, NEW JERSEYSAVE YOURSELF AND DONT MAKE THE MISTAKE I MADE
I found the staff at the Midway location to be very rudeI came to buy a guest pass because I've been considering moving my membership here from another gymI currently pay MORE at another gym that I have to drive A GREATER DISTANCE to get to and have done so for yearsThe people at the front desk made it as difficult as possible for me to spend my money there to the extent that I changed my mind and walked out after they actually used the "F" word in conversation and told me that I didn't look like I was in the mood to work out anywayAs much as I'd love to be able to work out with my significant other, I wasn't made to feel like a wanted customer in any shape form or fashionI certainly hope other locations aren't managed so poorlyI know I as a business owner would not want these types of individuals representing my company
Regarding LA Fitness Sachse,TX: LA Fitness business practices ruin it allTake any contract they put in front of you home and read over it times because they will tell you half-truths and almost everything to get you to sign it right then and thereThere's always some "deal" you'll miss if you don't sign it right away, but here's the real DEAL I was told verbally I could cancel a contract (personal trainer) anytime I wantedThey pushed it onto me when I was just trying to get a regular membershipThe guy signing me up was a trainer and I felt I could learn a thing or two before cancellingHelp him out maybeThe rest of this half-truth is that you have to pay 50% to cancel your personal training contract$(cheapest) [redacted] 52weeks = 2800ish / = $TO CANCELApparently these used to be good-will contracts! I guess they phased out good will~! When I went to the "Member Service Manager", Caroline W., she went into robot-mode saying, "Well you signed a contract!" Yeah, I signed a contract on your TabletPC application that's designed to make signing easy and quick with a sense of goodwillThen she started telling half-truths, maybe even some liesFor instance, that my friend wasn't able to cancel his when he had an email saying he hadAll of this with what I felt was a snide and condescending attitude: Almost a "Haha, you fell for it" attitude I've learned many lessens from this ordeal, so I got that going
My experience with LA Fitness has been extremely negative I was mislead about the length and terms of the personal training sessions, subject to aggressive sales tactics, was told to sign up for a multi-club service in case I relocated to New York, and was shown small print on a small tablet screen, but not the entire agreement before being asked to sign When I tried calling the Hamden, CT location to cancel when I was planning to move, I was told multiple times that there was no one available to speak with me When I went to an LA Fitness location in New York, I was told that they would not honor the Agreement that I had signed in Connecticut and would need to pay more money if I wanted to still access LA Fitness Therefore, I could no longer access the personal training sessions to which I had agreed One member of the personal training department in New York informed me that if I wanted to get out of the Agreement, I would need to dieIt was also extremely difficult to obtain a printed copy of the agreement I was first told that there was no record of the Agreement, and had to speak with multiple people in multiple locations to get a copy As such, my interactions with LA Fitness were very upsetting Do not support this dishonorable company
I am deeply saddened at upset at the abysmal customer service of LA FitnessWhile in the process of moving out of the state, I called the corporate number to cancel my accountI was told my the employee (a [redacted] ) that I needed to either submit a written cancellation request via mail or come in to a location in personAs neither of these are options for me, I asked to speak to a managerHe then put me on hold and when he returned he said a manager would process my cancellation the following Monday, December 28thI was contacted by a store manager, [redacted] ***, who reiterated that I could not cancel over the phone and she would send me instructions via emailI pleaded with her that I would be away for some time and she said she would put my account on a "freeze" until I returnedI know a "freeze" still involves charges, which I do not want, so I again explain my circumstancesHer response: "If I make an exception for you I would make an exception for everybody and I would be making exceptions all day." WowAt LA Fitness, the customer comes last, apparentlyI am cancelling my credit card so they cannot charge meWarning: do not sign up for LA fitness, do not give them any CC informationProceed at your own risk
I purchased a Samsung French Door Refrigerator back in Samsung Protection Plus sells their warranties to Assurant Solutions, though Samsung coordinates all repairs The last extended warranty I purchased was 2/28/and is good for one year and cost $ This is my third (3rd) extended warranty; in total I have paid Samsung Protection Plus $1,for three (3) extended warranties Since I have had NUMEROUS repair tickets opened to repair the unit; I have had over twenty (20) different repair appointments over the years from many repair companies here in the bay area - Precision TV, Major Home Appliance Service, Jem Appliance (visits) and lastly Service Quick (over repair tickets)
My Samsung Protection Plus contract clearly states "if the same component fails three (3) times or the product requires a 4th repair we will issue a replacement product" Because of all the different repair companies and technicians that were dispatched to my home over the yea
In my opinion, LA Fitness is a ripoff operation They took over my long-time gym within the last two years I inquired about personal training and they offered a 12-month contract I expressed concern that they might close the gym sooner than that as it had seen a number of recent ownership changes They assured me they were their for the long haul and I had no cause to worry about them closing the gym Three month ago they close the gymI asked how to cancel my contract and they gave me a form to send to their HQ which I did They continued to charge the monthly fee even though the gym had closed I called their billing department and explained; they agreed they would cancel my contract and refund charges since the gym had closed They did not I called again This time they explained that they would not cancel my contract because in its fine print it says that if there is another LA Fitness gym within miles, you can't terminate your contract without paying a penalty of half the balance I explained that a gym in the suburbs within miles of downtown was no use for working out downtown over lunch hour and that they had not in any way explained this aspect of their contract when I signed it They were completely unmoved and told me I could pay the penalty or they would continue to try to collect on the contract I don't think they can do that where they are not offering the services as represented at the time of the contract Basically, in my experience, LA Fitness appears to run a churning operation where their only interest is in signing up as many people as they can and collecting their money, not providing gym services or customer service I my view, the Revdex.com should not afford them the cover of a good rating
After being a customer of LA fitness for about a year, I decided to cancel my month-to-month membership because the location was not convenient LA fitness made me jump through hoops to cancel the membership Only after several visits and hours on the phone was I able to get the membership cancelled As a result, I ended up paying dues for several extra months after I had quit using the gym
***, an employee, at Montclair, CA's LA Fitness (Monte Vista Ave
Montclair, CA
United States) withheld my ID card, my personal possession, to coerce/force me to sit down
I asked for it back, she cradled it closer to her chest and turned her shoulder to me as if she's being greedy over my valuablesShe said no, sit down first*** her co-worker sitting a yard behind did not interfere until I was already yelling in frustration because she wouldn't give my card backShe kept wanting me to sit down firstThat's withholding my personal possessions in order to coerce me to sit down*** then finally handed my ID card back and I received an apology from ***, the corporate manager (per him, but was given no business card or employee number for any of these people, which is either smart or poor practice)However, even after min of resolving the situation, she still had a smirk, rolling her eyes at me, and acting a better-than-thou attitude
I came to test out this facilityI was invited by my motherAnd staff who use withholding personal property to force me to sit down is illegal and needs to be firedEven after knowing what she did, she had no remorseRetraining might help, but this is a huge offenseShe does not belong with LA Fitness and poorly represents this companyPersonally, she should be fired on the spot
Oh- other than the poor mistreatment by ***; - ***, *** and the director of personal trainers were very professional and very glad to work with themIf I had worked with them exclusively, they would have had another customer with positive reviewsThe facility is clean and well keptMany options for meBut except for the illegal action their staff did, it would have been perfect

For three years I have made the following complaint about my local club on US in Clearwater Florida: The equipment with the side weights have a problem First not all the weights work because the pins do not fit into the hole or are missing the pin altogether The second problem is where some of the machines have working side weights but when you place the pin in the hole there is some sort of drag so it feels like more than the additional weight
I have spoke to numerous club managers and people at the corporate website customer service with promises of repairs A couple of weeks ago there machines were "fixed" by REMOVING ALL THE PROBLEM SIDE WEIGHT BARS
Tried to cancel my membership three times, once on the phone where I was told that they could not cancel over the phone and that I had to go into a club to cancel (which is a complete lie, as I did end up canceling over the phone)I went into a club and was told that nobody was there to assist me The second time I walked into a club to cancel, I was told the exact same thing, nobody was there to assist me and with my renewal date being the next day, I sat in the club and called LA Fitness' corporate office and they did cancel on the phone (even though they told me the first time that membership cancelations could not be done over the phone) My boyfriend had the exact same experience of trying to cancel over the phone and told you could not and then trying to walk into a club to cancel three seperate occasions, at which point they did cancel his membership over the phone
My wife and I decided to become members at Whittier's newest LA Fitness on Whittier Blvdand Michigan St Well, I acquired the membership and enrolled in a family plan in order to include my wife
After attending for months we decided that it was time to leave this business primarily because it had become so crowded that it was impractical for us to get an hour workout since we had to wait in long lines in order to use their equipment
Anyway,
We approached "Melissa" the Manager and clearly stated that we wanted to terminate of gym memberships She said, o'k, did a few things on the computer and said we're done here This was back on May 19, She never gave me a termination receipt and never emailed it either I didn't think much of it because I strongly believed that she had taken care of this situation
Well, here we are on 11/27/and my wife is reviewing by bank statement and what shows up? An automatic payment deduction for I said, honey we cancelled this account months ago so why are we still being charged?
Today, I met with Melissa the Manager and asked her to clarify why she was still charging me for an account that my wife and I had explicitly told her to close Her response, "I'm not saying that you are lying to me, but I don't have a record of your account termination So, this happened a few months ago and I just don't rememberOh, I see, your membership was terminated as requested but your wife's membership remained active That's why you are still being charged."
I replied, we explicitly told you to cancel our memberships She replied, you can't prove that you told me and I can't remember if you did I'm sorry but there is nothing I can do
You see, my original monthly payment for both of us was so she had been charging just for my wife's membership
I also showed her their own contract that I had signed and pointed out that according to their own contract, I should have been notified in writing if a change in the monthly automatic withdrawal fee changes to at least 10% of the original withdrawal amount She started to mumble and said that I had been notified at the time that I originally signed the original contract I replied, yes, I signed the contract and these rights are printed on the first page, explaining my rights So, I singed it as proof that I had been informed of my rights Now, show me proof that you contacted me in order to report the new lower charge which is approximately a 50% change She said, let me look for it As she tried to find it on her computer, I looked at her and said, you can't find it because it does not exist At the end she only refunded out of the months that I had been charged fraudulently
What's the main lesson here, you may ask yourselves?
# The Manager did not terminate my wife's membership and continued to fraudulently deduct reduced monthly fees without legally notifying me as stipulated in their contract
# Make sure that if you ever go to LA Fitness that you read the contract before you sign Also, if you ever have to cancel the contract get a "receipt of termination" and check your checking account or credit card to make sure that LA Fitness does not continue to withdraw their fees illegally
#Don't be like me and assume that LA Fitness can be trusted My mistake was not checking by bank statements carefully
Our District Vice President contacted *** *** regarding her concerns related to the availability of her sessions and the billing processed on
9/19/We have agreed to extend the availability of her sessions to 3/21/to allow *** *** time to schedule sessions with a trainer
We have also issued a refund of $back to the*** card on fileThe refund was completed on 10/11/Please note that we were not contractually obligated to provide this remedy, but this was done as a customer service consideration for our memberWe believe this resolves the matter, but please advise if we can be of further assistance
