I’ve noticed that I have a collections from
*** with Jefferson Capital. I’ve attempted to call to see if I could do a pay to delete and get more information on the account. I was given another to call where I was speaking to a very RUDE lady. She wasn’t of any help. I requested her to get me the information from *** where she gave me attitude telling me if she did that I was to pay the entire bill in full, then she hung up on me. Not sure what kind of practice this is. It’s the only negative on my credit report.
Jefferson Capital Systems, sent another agency (***.) collect money from me, this agency was not able to validate debt or to provide any information on about the debt and still call me asking me to pay them when they can not provide any verification. I ask that Jefferson Capital Systems send me a validation of debt, including a signed contract, date of debt and amount, otherwise delete all information from all three credit bureaus, *** and ***. The are reporting under three different account numbers on each bureau and under a different name for lender under each bureau. I do not have an account number because I have never been given one. only the information I was able to get from my reports.
Account numbers showing on reports are as follows:

Dear ***:
We are in receipt of your correspondence sent on behalf of the above-referenced customer.
This letter will confirm that on March 26, 2019, we received a phone call from Mr. wanting to reach a settlement agreement on this account. We were mutually able to settle on an amount and Mr. made the payment.
Thank you for the opportunity to be of service.
Sincerely,
Consumer Relations Staff
On behalf of Jefferson Capital Systems, LLC, A Debt Collector
Jefferson Capital systems added “derogatory” mark to my credit reports for $711 for a *** bill without my knowledge which is an FDCPA violation. Jefferson Capital put collection on my credit reports without my knowledge and in doing so, this violated the FDCPA Collection Practice by placing a collection account on my credit report without sending a letter to me. I have attempted to dispute this information through the credit bureaus but have not been provided with any debt verification contracts with my signature. The collection continues to be updated but I have not received any documentation or forms of communication regarding this debt. I request that Jefferson Capitol verify the following information. 1. Full original Account Number 2. Date original Account was opened 3. Any written agreements between myself and the original creditor stating this debt is owed 4. Full account summary and itemized calculation of alleged debt 5. Date of the first delinquency 6. Dates and times of any phone calls made and to what number in attempt to contact me concerning the alleged debt before it was reported to an agency, and so proving that these calls were made in the times governed by FDCPA law. If Jefferson Capital Systems is unable to provide the above identifying account information, this account must be deleted from all CRAs. Jefferson Capital Systems also failed to follow FDCPA by not sending a letter giving the consumer time to dispute or validate the alleged debt within the allowed 30-day time frame that is allowed by law.

Re: "***"
Jefferson Capital put collection on my credit report without my knowledge and in doing so, this violated the FDCPA Collection Practice by placing a collection account on my credit report without sending a letter to me. Plus there is NO verification from the NJ Secretary of State that they are registered in New Jersey which is also against the FDCPA!
I request that Jefferson Capitol verify the following information.
1. Full original Account Number
2. Date original Account was opened
3. Any written agreements between myself and the original creditor stating this debt is owed
4. Full account summary and itemized calculation of alleged debt
5. Date of the first delinquency
6. Dates and times of any phone calls made and to what number in attempt to contact me concerning the alleged debt before it was reported to an agency, and so proving that these calls were made in the times governed by FDCPA law.
Jefferson Capital Systems also failed to follow FDCPA by not sending a letter giving the consumer time to dispute or validate the alleged debt within the allowed 30-day time frame that is allowed by law.
We have responded directly to Mr. on March 12, 2019.
I never received a letter or Phone call before collection was added to my report...

I am rejecting this response because: I have no information when calling to give Jefferson capital because I have recieved nothing from them. How am I supposed to call and tell someone about an account that I have no account number for? If they are trying to call, why have they not left a voice mail with information to call back?
Sincerely,
Gregory

I am rejecting this response because:now they have reported to the credit boroughs that I have disputed them. I have not formally filed a dispute. Because of their actions my credit score has lowered again. Why isnt there some sort of penalty for this. Because they report falsely (on a dispute) I get penalized? Doesnt make much sense...
Sincerely,
Gregory

Dear Sir / Madam, I have recently discovered a “derogatory” mark for collections on my credit report from Jefferson Capital Systems in the amount of $938. I have never received any form of Initial communication stating I was the consumer and without my knowledge or any form of initial communication this debt was also added to my credit report. The notice was not received in the allotted time given by the FDCPA for me to dispute or validate this alleged debt. For this reason I have no information on account number or file numbers. I am disputing the validity of this entire debt. I am requesting validation of this account per the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act Sec. 809. I would like to acquire the following information for the purpose of validation: • Documentation from the original creditor of the following; Original date of default or non-payment of the debt The last valid payment to/toward the above creditor Name and address The original balance The date of transfer from the original creditor to the debt collector • The date; in which Jefferson Capital System made initial contact with me about my debt. (The initial phone call and written notice.) FDCPA Sec. 809. (a) Notice of debt; contents· The current balance of debt. This is not an acceptance nor acknowledgment of this debt. I am also NOT giving permissions to Jefferson Capital Systems LLC, to contact me regarding this debt. Note that these are the rights given to me by the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act which allow me to dispute and validate my debts. If Jefferson Capital Systems can not provide the following evidence within 30 days of receipt, all consumer reporting agencies must be notified to delete this trade line and cease collections of this debt Sec. 809. (b) Thank you, Craig

Jefferson Capital Systems has placed a collection account on my credit report in the amount of $1279 for a *** bill without my knowledge and doing so violated the FDCPA collection practices without sending a letter to me. I request that Jefferson capital verify the following information:
1. Full original account number
2. Date original account was opened
3. Any written agreement between myself and original creditor stating this debt is owed 4. Full account summary and itemized calculation of alleged debt.
5. Date of the first delinquency.
6 Date and times of any phone calls made and to what number in attempt to contact me concerning the alleged debt before it was reported to credit bureaus, and so proving that these calls were made in the times governed by FDCPA law. Jefferson Capital stated that this account was opened on April 01 2018 and it’s not possible because I have not given any of my information to Jefferson. If Jefferson system is unable to provide the identifying the above account information, this account should be deleted from all credit bureaus and no further contact shall be made by phone, email, or mail. Jefferson Capital Systems also failed to follow FDCPA by not sending a letter giving the consumer time to dispute or validate the alleged debt withing the allowed 30 day time frame that is allowed by law. I will also report this to the FTC if it’s not resolved with the terms stated. Please be aware that going forward, after I have confirmed your receipt of this notice, any communications from your company may be recorded to be used as evidence for my claims against you.
Also, be advised that any negative information appearing on my credit reports pertaining to this account will be handled with the full legal rights and remedies available to me with regards to current consumer protection laws.
We have responded directly to Tomas *** on 3-12-19.

I am rejecting this response because:I require in writing that any and all tradelines are to be deleted in association with this assumed debt from all major credit bueras. Jeffersons Capital System LLC must place an agreement in writing to not resell or reopen this tradeline to any other collection agency and delete any and all personal information of mine including : DOB, SSN, Any assumed Address, Legal Name, or any other personal identifying information from their system that they have ILLEGALLY retained in addition to agreeing to not ever solicite me again. Once these conditions are met in addition to the previous terms provided by Jeffersons Capital System LLC, a deletion of all tradelines, my personal information, and not reselling or reopening my information I will resolve this case and accept the terms as outlined.
Sincerely,
Ajonye
This company have been doing business in SC without having a valid Foreign License. Their licensed was dissolved in 09/2012 and they bought my debt in 08/2015. I have written a letter to this company and still waiting on a reply. I also attached a copy of the laws for SC on Foreign Licenses
I am getting a call from this number and others as well. When I first answered, the person said "Is the last 4 of your social XXXX? I said who is this and why are you calling me. When I refused to confirm it, he then said do you live at "1234 Main St". I again asked why he was asking me this. He told me that he cannot tell me until I confirm my info. Then he moved onto "is your birthday 01/01/1111" Really, I didn't answer the first 2 why are you asking me another.
Needless to say, I have blocked the numbers they call from. I DO NOT owe this debt any longer and have not for over 5 years. STOP CALLING ME.....
I am very unhappy with this company. It has been on my credit for a very long time. I disputed and nothing. I am coming up on my 7th year now but they have it on my credit report as 3 years. they re-aged my account. I am currently looking into what I need to do to get this taken care of. I'm pretty sure they can not re age an account.
I am writing another review to commend the management team at this company. They took note of the situation and reached out to me to apologize. It meant a lot.
Best costumer service given by Andre, it was wonderful to work with a true professional.
He researched my case, gave me a positive solution and he followed through and did what he said he would do. I have been dealing with Jefferson Capital for years and they are doing a great job to improve costumer service. Andre is a great example!
Thank you.
This company has been calling me for weeks, and I finally called them out in a few things, resulting on me getting hung up on twice.
They’re asking me to pay an emergency medical bill from 2016 totalling 1k. I told them I didn’t have any services that year. I’m the. Told that isn’t the service date, that’s the date it went to collections.
I ask what is the service date? Dont have that information.
What was the location of the service? Don’t have that information.
What was the service for? Don’t have that I formation.
Who was the provider? The account number? They don’t have any details.
I had to ask for their company name and who they said they were representing (ended up being another collection agency) in order to do their leg work to find out what this was all about.
I told them I can’t pay for a service that they cannot provide any information on. I was still strong armed into paying something (I have not). I told them I would need this all in writing. I have never had a collection agency simply have 0 information about the debt they are collecting on, and then hanging up on the customer as they demand something, anything to confirm their claims.
Very bad company didn’t know they was on my report talked to them and very rude people telling me I owed the money and they didn’t have to send anything to me on it
Andre' was a real pleasure to deal with. As an attorney, considering all the prior interactions I've had with debt collection agencies over the years my dealings with Andre' are at the top of the list. He was polite, professional and seemed truly interested in resolving the problem at hand. He also was willing to listen and to consider various alternatives so I greatly appreciated his open-minded approach. I will state unequivocally that my experience with Jefferson Capital was extremely positive considering the nature of the business we were transacting.
Jefferson Capital Systems never sent me a *** letter that they were collecting this debt on behalf of *** for $1,545. I happen to also have worked as a collection agent for a firm here in Thorofare NJ and lawfully engaged in collection activity on *** loans and other Medical Collection Accounts. Having been trained by my Collection Agency (***) in the rules of engagement for the *** and ***, I am about to use my powers for good on my own credit report, but first I wanted to publicly call out JEFFCAPSYS. I am about to initiate a small claims action against them their sloppy collection practices on my file.
Not even attempting to contact me to resolve this prior to dinging my credit is unprofessional and unacceptable. JEFFCAPSYS purchases debt for pennies on the dollar, and seeks to exploit people's hardships to make a buck of hardworking single fathers like myself trying to provide for my children. Let's see how a small claims Judge here in NJ feels about a debt collector not adhering to the rules of engagement, seeking to collect on a debt they have not validated, and recklessly inserting derogatory marks into ones credit profiles across *** & *** without warning. Unethical business practices have consequences.
Andre Mitchell was great. I was not happy about being garnished but it was my fault. However, he was pretty nice about coming to a settlement. I was not able to hold up to the first settlement agreement but he worked with me after still.
I appreciate it. Thank you Andre!
