DATE OF LOSS: June 29, 2014
COMPANY: Government Employees Insurance Company
Dear *** ***:
Thank you for your letter of August 13,
This loss was reported on June 29, by the complainant, *** ***. Immediately after this report, steps were taken to contact our insured driver to confirm the facts of the loss and resolve the question of liability. The police were not called to the scene, there were no independent witnesseses to this loss, and the complainant did not provide any substantive evidence to support her claim. As such, our insured’s verification of the facts as presented by *** *** was necessary prior to GEICO being able to handle her damages. Calls were made to the insured each of the first five days following this loss and letters were sent requesting that she or the driver of her vehicle contact GEICO. Our insured did not respond to these repeated requests, nor did she respond to subsequent contact attempts made during the month of July
Attempts continued until a conversation with *** *** on August 13, 2014, at which time she advised she had photos from the scene confirming our insured’s involvement. These were uploaded to the claim file by the complainant that same day, but were not sufficient to prove the loss. As a result, the liability adjuster assigned to the file continued attempts to contact our insured. Contact was made on August 15, 2014, at which time our insured confirmed the facts as reported by the complainant. *** *** was contacted that same day and her vehicle inspection was completed on August 19,
If there are any additional questions, please feel free to contact Claims Manager Aaron W*** at ***

We received your correspondence dated July 6, 2015, regarding the above-noted ConsumerWe have not included any personal identifying information in our response as you requestedOur Insured first advised us on June 19, 2014, that her son lived in the household and would be occasionally
driving the *** that was listed on the policyAt this time we added him as an active driver effective June 20, 2014, as well as updated the address on file.Currently there are two vehicles on the policy, a *** and a ***These two vehicles include physical damage coverages as well as Emergency Road Service and Rental ReimbursementThe *** includes Mechanical Breakdown Insurance as wellThis brings the policy to $In order to remove her son we advised our Insured we would need proof of other insuranceThe Insured advised her son still lives in the householdAt this time we will need to keep him active on the policy until we receive that proof of other insuranceIf we were to remove the son, the premium would lower to $We spoke with our Insured and discussed additional options to lower the premiumOur Insured declined our offerWe advised that the current rate is the best we are able to offerWe trust this information is sufficient to allow you to close your filePlease call Russell W***, Customer Service Director, at ###-###-####, if you have any further questionsVery Truly Yours,

Does not uphold promises, unreliable service, inaccurate record-keeping resulting in repeat issues, long holdsGeico has taken days to mail me an ID card, bringing me dangerously close to being out of compliance in New Jersey, which requires a mailed ID card in order to perform emissions inspection I have given them my PO Box several times since day 1, yet they still do not show it in their system A manager that I called today advised that he would do all of the research for me and assured me that he could get me a new card within days, even if Geico needs to overnight it After minutes on hold to learn of his findings, Geico advised me that they had no such notes on file, only that they still did not have my PO Box correct and advised that I must do all of the research that the manager had previously promised meThe call escalated to speak to yet another manager, who kept responding with dead air and typing rather than answer me The best she would offer is to overnight it at my own expense despite 1) the amount of my time they had taken over the past weeks and today especially 2) my stated intention to log this with Revdex.com 3) my stated intention to switch companies if this is not resolved properly
Dear *** ***:
Thank you for your most recent inquiry
As previously stated, we acknowledge that *** *** was not provided an estimate however, that does not change the fact that the transmission damage being claimed is wear and tear and not accident related, which is not covered under her GEICO Auto Policy. Therefore, our position is firm, and our denial stands
Sincerely,

This is in response to your July 21, correspondence. We regret *** rejected our previous response. All policy declarations and identification cards issued on the *** *** reflected *** * *** and *** * *** as the named insured. When GEICO advised *** on May 26, that *** was not the named insured on this policy, neither he nor his daughter requested a new policy for *** as the named insured
We regret the inconvenience; however, our position has not changed. We are unable to retroactively issue this policy in ***’s name. The information GEICO reported to the Comprehensive Loss Underwriting Exchange correctly reflects that *** was the driver in the May 25, accident
If additional information is needed to close your file, please contact *** *** at ###-###-#### or ***

Dear MsTilghman:
We have received your letter requesting additional assistance on behalf of *** ***. I welcome the opportunity to further respond to her concerns
It is our goal to design our website to be user friendly and easy for our customers to process their online transactions. We do recognize that on August 4, 2016, it was Ms***’s intention to postpone her August 14, payment to August 20, 2016; however, she mistakenly processed an additional payment instead. Upon her automatic payment processing on August 14, 2016, Ms***’s policy was paid in full. Since her policy was paid in full when the second payment was processed on August 20, 2016, I have authorized an exception to reimburse Ms*** of the $overdraft fees she received from her bank.
We genuinely value Ms***’s business, and it is very important that we continue to exceed her expectations with every interaction you have with our company. I hope this information is helpful in resolving her concerns. If you have any additional questions please contact my associate, Phillip K***, at ###-###-####, extension
March 18,2014Dear *** ***,Thank you for your letter received on March 10th regarding *** *** claim with GEICO.In December of *** ***’ vehicle was involved in an accident, and the damages were limited to the right rear door areaThe repairs were completed in
December of by *** *** *** Collision Center under the GEICO Auto Repair Xpress programAfter receiving your letter one of our GEICO Auto Damage Field Supervisors inspected *** *** vehicle on March 12, at ***’s Collision Center where the damages were being repaired through a claim filed with *** *** Insurance. Our inspection showed that the passenger rear tire tread had tom away from the rest of the tire causing the tire to blow, which in turn caused damages to the passenger rear outer wheelhouse panel, passenger rear quarter panel, cladding and the fuel doorThis is clearly a result of the blown tire and has nothing to do with the quality of repairs from the loss that occurred in 2008.Our inspection did show that the paint on the passenger rear door cladding is peelingThis part was replaced and painted as part of the repairs performed by *** *** *** in 2008, and we would warranty this part of the repairThe cost to remove, refinish, and reinstall the cladding would total $177.05, and we are mailing *** *** a supplemental estimate and payment for this amountShould *** *** decide to have the repair done she can take the vehicle to the shop of her choice and present our supplemental estimate. This issue would not have caused the tire failure and the resulting damages that *** is claiming now, and GEICO will not be involved in repairing those damages.Should you have any questions, please contact our Auto Damage Manager, *** ***, at ###-###-####.Sincerely

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:This is total garbage! GEICO admits to charging it's customers for reckless, careless, and faulty driving of others and passes it on to GOOD customers with perfect driving records? What a complete farce! So, like the US government, there is no responsibility and accountability for others who do wrong or incompetent! Let me tell you one thing, you are foolish to think that we the good and responsible people will carry on this kind of welfare mentality for much longer!
Regards,
*** ***
I am accepting of the response from Geico with only a couple of minor issues that I feel should be addressedFirst is the portion of the letter where it states "At the time of sale, we confirmed with the complainant that they only wanted to make the first payment....etc" This is true that I agreed to make the first payment, in order to get the insured's policy started In October, though, it was explained to me by a Geico Agent that the payment was to be a one time withdraw and that the insured would then be responsible for the account from then on out That portion of the conversation was not available, from what I was told by Joy K***, because it was not recorded The only part that was recorded was the very end and not the rest of the three way call that went on between the insured, the agent, and myselfAlso, I had my bank send out an account statement to Geico already showing the withdraw of $and the negative charge of $- which I was told by a Geico Agent that they had received it If another statement is needing sent out, please let me know and I will have my bank send it out again Also in the statement, it shows that the negative charge was not incurred directly due to the withdraw of $93.73, but by another withdraw from my account This amount would have been covered though if it would not have been for the withdraw of $by Geico So in a sense, Geico was indirectly responsible for this charge of negative $on my account[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response. If you wish, you may update it before sending it.]
Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

This will acknowledge receipt of your July 22, follow up inquiry regarding the above referenced private passenger automobile insurance policyPlease be advised that GEICO’s position on the matter remains unchangedAs stated previously, our company has not received sufficient documentation from the insured to unequivocally prove that the Wappingers Falls, NY location is currently his primary place of residencyThe insured can contact the underwriter listed on the previously submitted letter to discuss any additional documents that would be considered as acceptable proof of residencyGEICO does not accept lease agreements or a post office box as proof of residencyIf you require further assistance with this matter, please contact the undersigned at ###-###-####Very truly yours,

December 8, Dear *** ***:
Thank you for your December 2, inquiry*** ***’s vehicle was inspected for damage on November 4, At the time of the inspection, she was informed rental coverage was for the reasonable repair time or until the vehicle was
declared a total loss, whichever is lesser per her policy contract. We estimate the reasonable rental time based on the total labor hours needed to repair the vehicle assuming the shop works on the vehicle hours per dayHer estimate has labor hours which would equate to approximately daysAllowing days for parts ordering, the total rental days should be days*** ***’s concern has been resolvedWe spoke to her on November 17, and adjusted her rental to days based on a conversation with her shop who told us her vehicle would be ready on the following MondayA review of the rental invoice shows the rental was returned on November 17th and we were billed accordinglyWe trust this information is sufficient to close out this complaint accordinglyHowever, if you have any additional questions or concerns regarding this issue, please feel free to contact Parish C***, Auto Damage Manager, at ###-###-####Sincerely,

June 11, Dear *** ***:We have received your letter requesting assistance on behalf of *** ***I welcome the opportunity to respond to his concerns. In this situation, *** is insured with GEICO under his own policy; however, he was initially looking for
coverage under the GEICO policy issued to another driver. On May , 2014, *** reported an accident in which he stated that he was rear ended by another GEICO policyholderIt appeared that the policy issued to the other driver was not active at the time of the accident; however, we needed to finalize our coverage investigation*** was immediately advised that he should use his own coverage to repair his vehicle since it was likely that there will be no coverage under the other policyWe reiterated this to him again on May , when he spoke with a supervisorWe then completed our coverage investigation under the atfault drivers policy on May 13, and concluded that his policy cancelled prior to the date of the accidentWe called *** this same date to relay this information and followed up by sending him a letter as well***s option at this point was to use his own policy to repair his vehicle and any deductible under his policy would be applicable in this case*** questioned several times why he should pay his deductible and we explained it was the applicable coverage on his policy for the state of Arizona*** alleges that on May , when he spoke with Claims Supervisor *** ***, he was promised that his deductible would be waivedWe have verified that this may have been a misunderstanding on the part of *** as *** did not at any time communicate to *** that his deductible would be waived*** recalls the conversation, and when *** called he had asked that we back date our coverage to be able to cover his damagesWe explained that we could not do that, but would continue with our coverage investigation to see if coverage could be affordedHe then asked for his deductible to be waivedAt that time, *** advised *** that he had no authority over the claim filed under his policy as he was the supervisor for the claim filed under the other drivers policy.*** was informed that he would need to relay his request to the adjuster handling the claim filed under his own policy*** reports that at no time did he tell *** his deductible would be waived, only that he would need to speak with the proper person to make his requestThere are no records that *** was ever told that his deductible would be waivedWhen *** was contacted on May 13, by the adjuster handling the claim filed under the other persons policy; *** again asked for his deductible to be waived and he was advised by this adjuster that it was not possible.
As the state of Arizona does not offer Uninsured Motorist Property Damage Coverage, *** would need to utilize his Collision coverage to repair to his vehicleWhen *** purchased his policy, he selected the deductible amount for this coverage and entered into a contract with GEICO that he would need to pay his share of the loss should he choose to use this coverageWe apologize for any confusion; however, we are unable to waive ***s deductible at this time based on all of the above noted factsIf you have any additional questions, please contact my associate, *** ***, at ###-###-####, extension ***.Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because: case # ***
Dear Sirs:
I didn't understand how to proceed with leaving my reason for rejecting the info given to me by GeicoThey provided me with my driving record. The reason I did is because my driving record is no surprise to meThe issue I have with Geico is that I informed them of my driving record and they promised me that the quote of $was still accurateThen after I had spent time corresponding with them and my current insurance company and then cancelled my insurance with my current provider gave Geico my bank information, then Geico gave me the real quoteThe real quote was $a month Not the $quote for monthsIt is called the "bait and switch." I didn't appreciate Geico wasting my time with a bogus insurance quoteI'm a blue collar worker trying to shop for insurance on my minute lunch break. That's a deceptive way to do businessI would like for geico to honor their original, written quote of for months or a month to me
