Thank you for the opportunity to address our customer's concernsUpon conducting business with GoDaddy, our customer acknowledged and accepted our agreements, found at https://www.godaddy.com/legal-agreements.aspx.On January 15, 2017, our customer purchased a Self-Managed Windows Virtual Private Server (VPS) for a three-year term with assistance from GoDaddy’s customer care Self-Managed Servers and Virtual Private Servers are sold with the acknowledgement that the customer or an authorized party have server administration knowledge. On May 18, 2017, our customer contacted GoDaddy’s Customer Care to troubleshoot connection issues with their VPS After review and testing, GoDaddy’s hosting teams determined there were no blocks via the GoDaddy network causing our customer’s issues.RESOLUTION:GoDaddy upheld its agreements with our customer in good faith and honored its terms of service. Our customer may wish to review (or have their server administrator review) incoming connections and incoming packets on the VPS when their connection issues occur Again, administration of the VPS is the responsibility of the customer or their server administrator If they are unable or unsure of the steps to do so, they may wish to consider upgrading to a higher level of support, such as Managed or Fully Managed. The following article may be helpful to our customer in outlining GoDaddy’s server features and support:Which features does my Self Managed/Managed/Fully Managed server offer?https://www.godaddy.com/help/which-features-does-my-self-managedmanagedful...⇄ you again for the opportunity to address the concerns presented by our customer.Kindest regards,Mike L***Office of the CEO - GoDaddy
I would accept a"Terms and Agreements"response from GD if in fact the response were actually true. However they are peppered with varying differences of actual events which occurredIn response to "July 26, 2017."This was not the date of the issue of concern. The issue was not accessing the server via ssh, but accessing the "ROOT" folder via sshWhich I was NEVER able to do since first purchasing the serviceIn their agreement which they are referring, I shouldve been able to do this, but was never able to.In response to"August 9, 2017"This is incorrectThe issue occurred when I purchased a third party ssl certificate license in DecemberIt required having the license placed into the "root" directory.I could only place the license into the "user" directory.I never stated I had a problem accessing this until the 3rd time I contacted hosting support. This was after support had tried to adjust whatever permissions the first attempts. They told me during the 3rd support chat my server had been "HACKED".I questioned who other than someone at Godaddy could have possibly"compromised"my server as I had given my password to them on separate occasions to adjust permissionsThen advised me to "Destroy and Rebuild" the server which had a different version of the server software, and rendered my July 27th backup useless. When I asked if they could restore the original software.I had been advised that I would have to pay the fee to have them do anything to the server. So in essence Godaddy did"NOT"follow the "Terms and Agreements" that I had obtained the service for in totality and should,I believe, in"Good Faith"restore my server at no costThis occurrence has had a significant negative impact on my business and has cost me a great deal of loss of trust from my customersIt makes my business look badI think its unfair for such a large hosting company to engage in such low standard practices and feel I should be compensated at the least with restoration of my server

Dear Dispute Resolution Consultant,Thank you for the opportunity to address and bring clarity to the concerns presented by the complainantWe have reviewed this matter and would like to present the following.GoDaddy has not entered into any agreements with the complainant.Domains are sold on a first-come, first-served basisThe complainant claims that GoDaddy has "front run" a domain name the complainant has attempted to registerDomain “front-running” is the act of registering domain names after a registration search is done in an attempt to profit from themGoDaddy does not and never has participated in domain name “front-running”We encourage our customers to purchase any available domains they desire at the time they show as available for registration.RESOLUTION:According to the Public Whois Directory, the domain name specified by the complainant has been registered to another party since August 25, The complainant may wish to reach out to the current registrant to inquire about a possible sale and/or transfer of the domainWe sincerely hope that the complainant can either amicably resolve their concerns with the current registrant or find another, unregistered domain name that is suitable for their purposes.Education:The complainant may also find these GoDaddy support articles useful:What is Domain Buy Service? - https://www.godaddy.com/help/what-is-domain-buy-service-1699Domain Buy Service: A Buyer's Roadmap - https://www.godaddy.com/help/domain-buy-service-a-buyers-roadmap-5686Thank you again for the opportunity to address and bring clarity to the concerns presented by the complainant.Kindest regards, [redacted] Office of the CEO - GoDaddy [redacted] ***Scottsdale, AZ

Dear [redacted] : It is my understanding from your phone call and email that the documentation I uploaded for rebuttal to GoDaddy’s response to my complaint were not received in good orderIncluded below is my consumer rebuttal in response to the offer provided from GoDaddy for complaint # [redacted] , in which GoDaddy states that rather than charging me $for reassembling my website, they will only charge me $to do soThis is in light of the fact that the payment for the website was only days late, the payment was to occur during the holiday season when many people are frantically trying engage in the relatively rare annual exercise of committing time primarily, if not solely to family celebration — and that disconnecting my website from the domain link is reasonable and sufficient for such a lack of payment, whereas deleting all my material from the server after such a short period of time is overly punitive and serves to take advantage of people during a vulnerable time in their livesAlso, it is disproportionately discriminatory in multiple waysGoDaddy states that deleting the entire website was not intended as a punitive measureRegardless of intention, in practice, it is a punitive measureMy website is smallThere is no monetary or business reason for GoDaddy to delete the files from the server before days, other than to financially take advantage of customers’ vulnerability during the holiday seasonFurthermore, these terms are sexistI am a cycling female, and while I have to juggle the holidays, and indigence, and unemployment, and feeding and sheltering myself, and dealing with the male-dominated system that has put me in and perpetuates my situation, and the holidays, and the male-instigated divorce I was so sadly reminded of on December when I received my second notice, I also have to deal with the added consequence of having my hormones and therefore regions of my brain change in size and function over the course of every monthThese changes affect learning, memory, and motivation across an entire month, and physiologically, can lead to altered states of consciousness multiple times a month, and fatigue for a fourth of every monthIt is unethical that a corporation in a field dominated by men (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, or STEM), is allowing an automated system to put in place what are by consequence overly punitive measures for me, a cycling woman, and with which, if any other person with said life circumstances was confronted, would think and behave the same wayBecause you are in a male-dominated field, and because I worked in a male-dominated STEM field for 20+ years, I strongly recommend you heed my voice hereIt is also discriminatory based on ageAs I alluded to above, I received my second notice on the anniversary of my ex-husband’s filing for divorce behind my backOn average, people typically have fewer psychological traumas with which to contend, the younger they are in their lifespanAs time passes, more psychological traumas accruePsychological traumas have significant effects on people’s behaviorBeing years old, I am more likely to have more psychological traumas that would require me to pause momentarily, to distract myself from reliving the trauma, and the like, than a person in their twentiesAs far as contracts go, I am a very reasonable, educated person, and familiar with the lawFrom this vantage point, I can tell you this contractual term isn't really viableIt's not like you're a lost-and-found, and I lost my gloves at your restaurant, and it is up to the whims of your employees whether or not I get my gloves backYou are a company, responsible for ethical treatment in the realm of the particular service you are providingFurthermore, I have the content, I just no longer have the software with which to upload it, for a variety of reasons related to my indigenceIf this is part of your contract, it is a poor tax and not an ethical part of your service, and you need to change itAnd finally, this gives me the opportunity to elucidate in other pragmatic ways how your actions are in practice overly punitive, and appear to simply constitute the opportunity to lord your possession of user content, over consumers’ headsYou should check back with the website owner before deleting their content, by phone, leaving a message, and providing three days to respondAfter the third email notification, which I received, you should provide me three days to respondI attempted to reply the following day, and you had already deleted all my web contentThis is unacceptableThere was no reason for you to delete all my web contentAll you had to do, was break the linkHere, this clarifies the following: GoDaddy should have in place multiple steps or stages in disconnecting serviceBreak the link, and email the customer with notification, without deleting content to the serverThis provides the customer a chance to see that their website is downKeep the content on the server for three monthsDeleting the content, especially when the number of files is so small and the total space taken up is also so small, is unethical and solely for monetary gain from vulnerable peopleI've never heard of anything so abrupt in my lifeIt's wrongThis contributes to the slow chipping away of my identity as a scientistI demand that my website put back for freeAlso, I was not impressed with the lying of your representative, saying I'd been sent eight emails (see attached)That was absolutely untrueI was sent three emailsMy website involves sensitive content regarding a civil rights complaint that affects my ability to work as an academicianI have a PhD and I am indigent and living in government-assisted housingIf you want to continue to oppress me by this overly punitive approach, you may encounter being lumped into the side of the oppressorIf you want to verify that I was an academician, or that I was married, or that I had a civil rights complaint, it's all in my web contentEverything in my life is like thisI receive unacceptable and terms and actions virtually every day of my life, and your poor business practices are just another addition to a very aversive and ugly pile, so I am very upsetIt is terrorizing, traumatizing, and stressfulIn the chance that you are truly attempting to provide me with a condition that you think is fair, I appreciate you going down to $Please understand, however, from my vantage point, and from the standpoint of ethical business practices, that it is notYou are not a loan shark businessPlease behave in the manner of a reputable business practice, so that you can attain and maintain an air or reputabilityPlease put by website back for free, and give me the monthly ~$10/ mo payment for keeping it postedI am happily willing to pay the fees that have passed since my website was deleted [redacted] , please cc this go GoDaddySincerely yours,
