Benjamin Franklin Plumbing Reviews (1038)

I'd like to file a complaint against Benjamin Franklin Pluming. I called them for a main sewer clog, the service guy spent half day at the house. Since my wife was here he recommended all sorts of work to me done, including taking the half bathroom toilet off the floor, makes no sense since the clog is from the edge of the house to the road. He charged us $405, including tax and he refused to accept the advertised $50 plumbing service coupon on their website. But that's not the worse in this situation, a week later I have the same clog issue. I called BF back and they said they will charge $39 service fee plus another $160.00 for the service, no warranty was given for their work other than the toilet drain, really? I had another company check the situation and they were completely honest to me that a week later I should not have the issue again, even if roots were cause of the clog issue. When they clean the sewer and roots are present they still open the area wide enough that would last months not weeks. Anyway, $405.00 later with lots of aggravation I'm still with the problem and this company would not even attempt to honer their work. Very disappointed. Now I'd rather pay $400.00 to another company that can get the work done and give us 60-90 day warranty vs. giving BJ another penny.

To the head of Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, Delaware, The men who represented your company in our home during the last 2 weeks have been hard working, courteous, and professional. (How refreshing is that !!!)
First was Vince on Sunday 9/18/16 following an internet search and call to your business for a minor plumbing issue. Vince, explained what would need to be done and handled himself so well concerning our minor issue, that we felt comfortable discussing other plumbing problems we were having with him at that initial consultation. Long story short, we ended up having a complete remodel of our bathroom done as well as the work needed to finish the recent complete remodel of our kitchen. There was no pressure or hard sell. Just an honest evaluation and possible solutions to the problems we were having.
The following week, three men (John and Camron on Thursday and Friday and Jack on Friday) spent time at our home fixing our kitchen sink and refrigerator plumbing problems (everything works perfectly now) and removing the bathtub and tile surround from our bathroom (this, by the way, was a very old, poorly functioning, leaking, ugly monster soaking tub - Not an easy task to say the least) I was not home during most of the work but my retired husband continually commented on their extensive knowledge-base, their politeness, and their hard work ethics.
Unfortunately, upon removing the tub, it was discovered that some of the bathroom subfloor had suffered damage 2nd to the leaking of the tub, so the tile floor had to be removed and replaced. Again, an evaluation was done, the problem was explained and we were given options to solve the problem. This was presented to me by Jack, again all very professional without even a hint of the hard-sell so prevalent in our world today. An alternative plan was made to accommodate our need of a functioning shower over the weekend and workers were scheduled to come in and complete the revised project the following week.
On the following Monday we were pleased to see John again and were introduced to Charley. Both were extremely polite, hard working, and resourceful in the extremely challenging task of removing the tile floor, laying a perfectly level subfloor and then my beautiful new high quality laminate tiles. Every piece is lined up perfectly (a very important thing to me). We observed how hard of a job it was but never heard a complaint. The job just got done and was done well. Most of the nights, they (John and Charley) did not leave until after 7:PM during the 2nd week.
Today, the project ended, (with the help of a new polite, courteous, hard worker named Chris, and we are well pleased (as is not always the case with me - don't get me started on my prior Internet/TV/Phone provider) Anyway, all plumbing issues were addressed, and all holes were patched. Our new bathtub, surround, and shower doors were perfectly installed as well as a new toilet, vanity, countertop sink and accompanying fixtures. Oh, and I can't forget my beautiful new, perfectly laid, floor.
So in closing I would like to make a shout out to the top man at Benjamin Franklin Plumbing in Delaware - You have chose very well in the men who represented you with our project. More money than we originally intended, but worth every penny. Thank-you and we will be back.
PS: To the men who worked in our home - Hurricaine will surely miss each and every one of you :)

Good job, everyone! [redacted] was friendly, courteous, and helpful. So happy to have my toilet back again!

xxxxx from Benjamin Franklin Plumbing was extremely professional and such a pleasant person. He called me back within a 20 minutes of my original call. He reached my house in a short time after. He put his shoe footies on to protect my kitchen floor before he entered my home. He immediately accessed the problem and took water test to find out the level of chlorine levels in my water. He explained to me that the water faucet was the reason I had a water leak that had caused a lot of water damage to my floor. He was patient as I went out and purchased a new faucet to replace the damaged one. Once he replaced the faucet he went into great detail regarding BF's plans to protect me from future plumbing problems. He suggested for me to use a dryer to fully dry under the sink to avoid any mold issues. xxxxx also referred me to a company to access the damage that was done from the water to go about having my floor repaired. He went above and beyond by reminding me to register my new faucet. He left his business card and told me to call if I have any problems. I'm so pleased and grateful that this was a minor problem and that xxxxx was able to fix it in a timely manner!

I had an underground leak and had to raise all my pipes to the attic. Benjamin Franklin had the most competitive free quote in the area. They were easy to schedule and sent a team of technicians to my house. The technicians were friendly and down to earth. They moved a big piece of furniture and cleared out closets to get to my plumbing. And I didnt have to clear out my attic. I have to put it all back but that is okay. The drywall cuts were clean and professional. Benjamin Franklin cleaned up and took the drywall trash with them! They did the whole job in one day (they say sometimes it will take two)! Overall, I had a very pleasent experience with Benjamin Franklin and will recomend them to friends and all my social media.
You have to find and hire a contractor to repair the drywall and your home owners insurance will cover that. Have the insurance adjustor come out after the plumbing is repaired. On a side note, Do not hire Charles T. [redacted], General Contractor of Jen-Mel Contracting LLC. He took my money and did not finish the job! Boooo.

I have had several occasions to call my plumber! Every time I have been highly satisfied .
The service is prompt, courteous and always very clean and neat!
Ty explained the charges and because I have a contract wit Ben Franklin I was entitled to a 15% discount! That always makes me happy!

Even though I was the last appointment on a Friday night, [redacted] never made me like he was rushing to get home. He was friendly and quick with a solution. He went over all the details with no pressure to upsell me . From my initial call to the end of my repair, l I had a great experience with Benjamin Franklin Plumbing.

Our service man, Bill S. was prompt, knowledgeable, courteous, helpful, and funny!
He gets our personal, gold level "Plumb Line Award" (yes, it's a crack about cracks)
We have used this company for many years, and recommend them highly.
Thanks, Bill--you make Ben's proud.

Super-responsive and consumer focused team. Great, friendly service on the phone to book appt and on site for repair. Love the maintenance program for its great coverage and value. Felt like a priority customer first and second service calls.

[redacted] was very knowledgeable, thorough and capable. We would work with him again.

Edward was polite, courteous and very knowledgable. He fixed my problem and made sure I didn't have any other concerns before he left.

The company response was quick and efficient. The work was professional and complete as expected. The technician found and repaired issues I had no idea existed, including a possible fire hazard. I could not have accomplished this task on my own in such a professional manner. I am well pleased.

As usual, Ben Franklin responded to our issue in a friendly, efficient, concerned, professional manner. We know they will back up their work and always respond in a timely manner.

Mike B. did a great job with his over-the-top penchant for excellence in his work. He neatly laid out the sewer connections under my new double wide mobile home in such a manner that cleanouts were available at the edge of the home in several locations. Also, he kept the plumbing out of the way of the future installation of the package air conditioner supply and return plenums. I was very impressed with his work, his attitude, and his persistence in accomplishing the hookups.

I would like to thank Mario and Bill for their prompt attention to my problem. I got home from work and discovered we had no water. Mario took my order, explained everything completely and dispatched Bill to fix my problem. Within an hour and a half we had running water and life was back to normal. The service and price was great.

Thanks, [redacted]

Was able to call [redacted] directly which was nice. He put me on the schedule and came out first thing this morning. Great service

We are moving and needed a final whole house/water heater inspection. Randy was here on time and checked everything and told us what to let the new homeowners know for them to continue the service.

Very satisfied with the service.

This was the first time I used Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. xxxxx was the service technician who came to my home. In my opinion I feel I could not have gotten a more thorough or skilled service technician. In the future I will certainly ask for him again.
