The Repairman , named Rakesh , came to my property for a service call dated , 01-26-2018 in Friday . In stead of just paying service I went for repair of the MATTAG Refrigerator with Control and COOLING system cost me $280.00 plus tax which is $316.40. After the gentleman finished the job , said the refrigerator will cool down in 2 hours. But it did not , so I called their 24/7 service , hoping some body will come and fix the problem. But lady receptionst nas the phone call , said nobody can come until Monday Jan 29, 2018. In between called several times no resolution. On 29th Dec , lady receptionst Cynthia said Rakesh will call . It now moday Rakesh and 6:15 pm Rakesh or any other repair has called yet ? is this you call a 24/7 repair Service ?

On January 18, 2018 we had someone come to our house to fix our washing machine. We were told it would be $80 for them to assess the problem. When here, before touching the machine he told us he could fix the machine 'today' for $361.60 plus parts. My husband signed the contract with the expectation our machine would be fixed that day. He opened up the back of the machine, said he needed to order a $600 part to fix it, replaced the back and was in and out of the house within 30 minutes. He still charged us the $361.60. When I called to ask what they were charging me for they just kept sending me in circles. They also informed me that the $80 was just to have someone come to your house that they charge labour if they touch your appliance. I stated that that was in no way made clear to us and that we had been told it would be fixed for that price. When they did finally call me back (after a over a week of my calling them repeatedly) they offered to send me a cheque for $65 and after asking them what exactly I was charged for again I also said I would accept the cheque they then informed me I would have to sign a waiver (or email it back to them) in order to get that $65. As I feel they are trying to deceive me yet again I'm very nervous to agree to anything.

I'm upset that they are not transparent with their charges and have not delivered the service they have charged me for. I fear they do this often and worry about others being taken advantage of. The part they wanted me to buy was worth as much as a new machine. Although I understand paying for labour I'm feeling taken advantage of that they charged me so much money for less than 30 minutes of their time and no actual work or changes were made to my washing machine. I feel they continually misrepresent themselves by not communicating the whole picture.
I don't understand why they can't be honest and straight forward and have repeatedly asked that they be just that with me.

Desired Outcome

I just want my money back. Or to be only charged the $80 for assessment as that was all I received. Honestly, just a much more fair price period. Also I want them to be clear what they are going to charge you before you sign anything.

Charged me $361.60 to look at ice maker issue on my fridge. Not hing was repaired. Instead told me that I needed an Ice Maker Assembly Part for another $480.76 + HST. After the repair man left, I called the manufacturer who quoted me $130 for the part.
This organization is taking its customers for a ride. They need to be shut down.

Desired Outcome

Full refund of $361.60

Sat Jan 20, 2018 - An Appliance Repairman (***) came to my home to have a look at my dryer that was making very loud screeching noises. He told me that the good news was that it was only the rotation system that was off and that all he had to do was put it back in the right place and apply lubricant - easy fix, no parts needed. He also told me that the warranty on the work he was about to do was good for one year. After this, should I require service, it would probably be for parts (which he wrote on my invoice). He also told me it was probably a manufacturers default and that I should contact the manufacturer to see if they would pay for the repair. How would he know it was a manufacturer's default when he doesn't work for the manufacturer? Anyways, he told me the $80 fee would be waived if I signed the new estimate of $320 + taxes. I needed my dryer so I signed the invoice and he did the work on my dryer. I wanted to pay *** but he said that he only accepted cash or debit. I paid by debit. After 2 hours of the repair, my dryer started making the same noise. I called Appliance Repairman the next day, Sunday Jan 21st and they told me that I would have to call back on Monday Jan 22nd. I called back on Monday Jan 22nd after 5:00pm and they told me I had to call back during regular business hours. I called back on Wed Jan 24th and I told them it was making the same noise as before and that I needed someone to fix it. I also mentioned that *** (the repairman) told me I had a 1 year warranty on the service. I was told they were going to look into it and call me back. After 4 hours of not hearing back from them, I called again and was transferred to customer service. The lady (didn't catch her name) informed me that there is no warranty on the labour and that I was basically out of luck. My dryer (which is only 2 years old) needed parts and it was basically my decision to do the repair. I tried to explain that it was the repairman's recommendation to have it repaired because it's a fairly new dryer but she didn't care. She basically told me it was my problem and I should buy parts or a new dryer. I said what did I spend $361.60 on? She said for the labour. I was very frustrated and told her I was going to report them. She told me she would put it in my file and hung up. Please help!!! I'm out $361.60 and still have a broken dryer.

Desired Outcome

Refund me $361.60

On or around January 10th, I called Appliance Repair Man on *** to schedule a service call for microwave. The microwave door was not closing. On January 13th, a technician came to repair the microwave. He said the service fee would be waived if I signed the form that it was OK to fix the microwave and I would pay a rate of $280. I agreed and signed. he opened up the microwave. He said a part of the door was broken and could not be repaired. He showed me the broken part. he said they would need to replace the door. He said he would call when the door had been found. He said he would tell us the price so we could confirm if we wanted to proceed with the purchase. It has been 10 days and we have not heard back from them. I called the company on Wednesday January 17th after 5 PM. A lady picked up and said they were the answering service and would pass on a message. No call back since. On January 23rd, I called the number and it says the number is not assigned. I tried several numbers on company's website and it says not assigned. I can't find a physical address on their website.

Repair I would like Appliance repairman to either source the door and install it or refund me the repair portion of what i paid.

after very little research (and not checking web reviews) and taken away by a nice looking website, decided to call Appliance Repairman to fix my Dishwasher.

On the phone, they only tell you that the service call for a diagnostic is $80+tax which would be reimbursed if we decided to fix the issue with them, also, she said to me, once I booked that appointment, the $80 were due upon arrival no matter the outcome once they landed in my house.
While I was away at work, the repairmen came and once inside my house (already $80 due), told my husband, who unfortunately didn't know what to expect or what they had told me earlier, that in order to give a diagnosis, he will need to 'service' the appliance for a fee of $280+tax, there was no other way!

We ended paying $316.40 (he didn't charge $80,... that was the whole idea to get them on the door) and a quote of $635.92 to fix the appliance at a later date.

This morning I phone the company and sent an email, after a very disrespectful exchange with a very angry costumer service lady (she definitely had dealt with this complain many times, all lines were memorized spoke at a 100 mph and didn't let me or my husband speak)
no monies will be reimbursed for their misrepresented service charge.
***

I am certain now, to due my due diligence next time when I am in need of any services!

My 6 year old *** convection range required repair as the oven stopped working. A repair company, Assured Appliance, in my neighborhood came out on January 8th and the business owner *** honestly advised he was not an *** authorized Technician so could not undertake the repair. I contacted Appliance Repair and emphasized that I needed an *** Technician and was assured this was not a problem. "***" was dispatched on Saturday, Jan. 13. He could not with certainty say it was the heating element. He recommended first trouble shooting the electronic panel. I agreed on the assurance that the baking element if then needed would not be more than a couple of hundred dollars. I paid $361.60 on ***.Invoice Reference *** for 20 minutes of work. He said the part would have to come from the U.S. which seemed odd. On Monday, January 15th to my horror, he left me a voice mail saying the installation, part and warranty would cost an additional $531.92. Now the repair was approaching $900 which is absurd! I called *** Head Office and they informed me Appliance Repair is not an authorized dealer. Reference ***. They will be conducting an investigation on basis of misrepresentation. They provided me with a reputable *** repair company, *** in Brampton. *** assessed on January 17th and indicated there was no reason to service the electronic panel. The troubleshooting confirmed all that was needed was a new baking element. *** was thorough and spent nearly an hour to perform diagnostic. *** informed me that the labour and cost of the part would be around $300.(I will be proceeding with them). I have placed a dozen calls this week to Appliance Repair requesting a compromise solution. They have offered a refund of $65. which is totally unsatisfactory. I am a senior and cannot afford to throw away money for unnecessary service in the first place combined with having been mislead that an *** certified Technician would perform the repair. A record of the attempts can be provide.

Billing Adjustment I feel I should legitimately receive a refund $36.160 for the unnecessary work. As stated earlier, the Appliance Repairman service on the electronic panel was totally unnecessary. I am still hoping that you can help me recover the $361.60 paid either in full or part. Even 50% would be a fair resolution. Many thanks for your assistance.

Applicance Repairman came on Dec.28/2017 to service our *** Profile Fridge as it was freezing food inside fridge. Two techs arrived, *** and *** and started vacuuming behind the fridge and accidentally broke the board and had to replace it but did not charge us for it and charged us for servicing and cleaning for $361.60 and we paid by Debit. *** told us the fridge would reset by the next morning. The next the same problem and worse so we called Customer Service and were told it would take a week before *** could come back. On January 5th, *** came and told us that the damper assembly needed replacing at a cost of $289.38 at which time we told him no thanks. We then called the *** authorized appliance repair service of *** and he knew immediately we needed to replace the board and brought a new one with him on Jan. 11/18 and installed it for $390.81 and we paid him by cheque. He also told us that the board that Appliance Repairman installed was the wrong board for a different fridge and that the part he suggested, the damper assembly for $289.38 was not required. We felt that as senior citizens we have been taken advantage of and called Appliance Repairman on at 7 different occasions to speak to Customer Service to try and get a refund for $200.00. We chased them for a week up until today and the best they would refund is $75.00.

Desired Outcome

We would like an apology and we would like a refund of $200.00 for the sluggish service and the amount of money spent to try a solve the problem they should have solved in the first place. In addition, we asked the tech if there was any discount for senior citizens or new customers and they said they didn't know yet the web sit gives a $14.00 discount for seniors and a $15.00 discount for new customers. Bogus Company

I had booked a service apt form this company to fix my microwave. The service tech came onsite and told me that he has serviced my microwave and that I cannot use it as I need parts (***) that would not be be more than $50-60 and that a tech will get in touch early next week. I paid $316.40 to have this service. I did not hear form them since. I called and spoke to their customer service on Jan 16 at 2:27pm and they told me that it would be another $716 to get the parts and installation done. I feel ripped off. They said that theyr tech would have never said that. On the service document there is no quote and this was a shock for me. After having paid $316.40 my microwave is not yet working and that I need to pay more. Their customer service rep did not help and said this is what the reality is. I asked to speak to a supervisor and they said that there would be no one else I can talk to.

I was told that I would have the part installed on my microwave and the part would not cost more than $50. I confirmed that I would not have to pay to anything else. The repair technicians name was ***. Either they repair and finish the job or I would like to have my money back and would rather invest in a new microwave than ever having their service again

Repairman came to diagnose a *** washing machine with a broken door locking mechanism. He quoted $685.63 + tax for a replacement part, claiming it was heavily laden by shipping charges from China. They also charged $80 + tax for walking through the door. We denied the service and a day later found the replacement part for $150, which we installed in 10 minutes. It likely isn't *** to gouge customers to this extent but feel the need to report this.

Desired Outcome

I'd like an explanation why they charge 350% markup on parts.
