Upon arrival of the technician, the charge was $80.00 and after he reviewed the fridge which took 15 minutes, the charge was 381.00 and was told the main board of the fridge needs to be replaced. Payment had to be by debt card only with no options. He left in a hurry and told us customer service will call us. It has been 6 weeks that we have no working fridge! The customer service representative named *** was extremely rude and very unprofessional when asked when will the part be in from . We were told the part that was ordered by the company was WRONG. We were told we had to wait another 2 weeks for the correct part to come in and we are still waiting. It has been 6 weeks and still no operating fridge and no date of arrival of the correct board.

This group is a real *** and did not offer any alternative solutions to date.

Very unfortunate that companies like this are still in business and need to reviewed by a higher government body to assess such complaints. It seams there is a pattern with the group that needs to be stopped as they are taking full advantage of honest people.

I would definitely classify this company as a failure.

Desired Outcome

Fix the fridge and stop stalling and hiding behind excuses.

I called Appliance Repairman (aka Appliance Repair Man, aka Appliance Repair Guys) for a grinding noise my fridge was making. They came out on January 17th, determined that there was ice build up in the freezer section and said that vacuuming it up would solve the noise problem. They didn't go further to investigate why the ice was building up. The charge for this- tax included was $361.60.
Within the hour after the repairman left, the noise came back and this time much louder. Note at this point the fridge was still cooling and the freezer portion was still freezing.
They came back a 2nd time Jan. 25th, no charge for the 2nd call and the repairman took the whole fridge apart. At the very he put all the pieces back together and the freezer DID NOT WORK ANY LONGER. He now said that it was a faulty "evaporator fan" and quoted a price of $353.50 for parts with a /$176.75 Labour + tax $68.93 = 599.18.
NOTE: as at 5 p.m. on the 25th, the fridge and freezer were still functioning, after 2 hours repair at 7 p.m. my freezer is now not freezing!
If I accepted this quote the total for the repairs, including the initial cost, would be $960.78!
I would under no circumstances have this company back out for anything. I want the originally money paid to them refunded. My son has since fixed the fridge by ordering LG parts online for a total of $100.00.

Desired Outcome

same as above - a refund of the $361.60 which was not the cause of the original problem. It was a temporary fix that could have been handled by just defrosting the fridge, and he should have determined at that time if it was a faulty evaporator fan.

We bought a used stacked washer dryer but when we got it plugged in at home found that the dryer would not work properly. Instead of taking the machine back we decided to get a technician to look at it first. My son made a big mistake [ with hindsight ] and called 'appliance repair man' without checking any reviews. If we had checked reviews first we would known exactly what was about to happen. We were told about the $80 fee just to show up and diagnose the problem. Within minutes of my son's girlfriend opening the door to the "technician" she was told what the problem was ....it will cost $280 to fix.If you have read other reviews this will all sound very familiar. It was give him $80 for the five minutes or sign his invoice and he will fix for the $280. She signed. Half hour later and no parts installed he informed her that it will also need a timer for $460. If we did not want to continue just pay the $280 and he would be on his way. At this point I was called and talked to the guy and asked him if we had misunderstood something because it was ridiculous to think we owed him that much for what he had done. He immediately said pay the $280 or he is not leaving the house. It was all very uncomfortable and upsetting for my son's girlfriend. After five minutes of trying to reason with him ,I told him I thought he was a crook but we would give him $150 if he would leave the house ,again he refused. I told him I would leave work and be over as soon as I could. At this point he took the $150 and left threatening a collection service.
Next day we were recommended someone else in the appliance repair business that could be trusted. He also charged an initial fee of $80 .Within 2 or 3 minutes he told us it was the dryer plug receptacle in the wall was wired wrong from some renovations we just completed and a good chance nothing at all is wrong with the machine. In 5 minutes he fixed problem and turned on dryer .Sure enough it worked perfectly.

I called because my washing machine was not working and they advised me that they wills end a technician to my house and the fee is $80 to diagnose the problem and if I decide to take the services they would not charge me. Well the service repair man came to my house unassembled my machine charged me $361.60. He said that my machine is fixed and not to turn it on for 24 hours as he glued the part and I shouldn't have any issues. I was confused as to why he would glue the part and not fix the problem entirely as this would only be a temporary fix because he said that I may need a new inner tug w/ holder. He left my house, I waited 24 hours as I trusted what he said as this his field of work and to my surprise my machine still didn't work. I called costumer service the same day and they would put me on hold for 10-15 min and the call would disconnect. Finally after the 6th time I finally got through to someone and the representative *** refused to acknowledge the issue that I was having and put blame on me,. lost my money and they refuse to refund my money as the machine still doesn't work and when I spoke to the rep *** I asked if its a normal procedure to use glue to fix appliances and she said no. They *** me of money and not provide the service as they said they would. this company is a *** and they should be investigated for false services they provide as the person that came to my house was not educated in this field. I would like a full refund of $361.60 and for this company (Appliance Repairman )*** to be under investigation as they are *** citizens out of money with a false promise of the appliance bring fixed.

Appliance Repairman installed a new motor in my dishwasher. After replacing the motor, the technician reinstalled the dishwasher under the counter; however, he left the drain hose from the dishwasher to the drain pipe (also connected to the sink) too short. The drain hose is stretched so tightly that it pulls down on the drain pipe, causing the pipe to separate from the sink and leak onto the kitchen floor. After numerous phone calls to Appliance Repairman, the same technician came back out. In the course of approximately 30 seconds, the technician informed me that the dishwasher drain hose was too short and needed to be replaced, and that I would be charged. I informed him (and later a person at the Appliance Repairman office) that the drain was working fine before he took it apart, and now it is not working due solely to the manner in which he reinstalled it. I asked him (and later Appliance Repairman) to put it back in working order the way it was. They have refused to do so and will only install a new hose for which they will charge me.

Desired Outcome

I would like my drain in working order (not separated from the sink) as it was before the Appliance Repairman technician improperly reinstalled it.

I called the company- was told $80.00 for the tech to come to the house to quote the repair (fair). Was then told $290.00 for the labour to find out what the issue was. To this I replied I see this washer at *** for 884.00- it is already 6 years old I don't want to repair if it is going to be over 500.00. The technician assured me that the washer was definitely worth repairing chances were that it was a hose and it was a cheap part- And the 290.00 covered labour to repair the part. I then had to chase them down to get a quote for the part. It was an additional 360 plus labour.
I then reached out to customer service- advised them of the issue and asked to be refunded 210.00. I did not mind paying the 80.00 (which I felt was fair for less than 30minute diagnostic visit)- but felt that I was duped by the technician and wished to be refunded the 210.00 because that was a ludicrous price for less than 30minutes. They offered to give me a 45.00 refund which was a gesture of good will- I did not accecpt this offer.

A service repairman came to my house January 27, 2018 to check problem with washing machine..it would come on, fill with water but not complete cycle. The service call charge was $80. which repairman had said would be waived if I agreed to labour charges. He used his tester to check some of the wiring and wrote up labour quote of $320. which I signed for.
At that point, he proceeded to use my shop vacuum to empty clean water from machine. Not paying attention to what he was doing, he let vacuum overflow which then stopped working as the motor got wet and we spent next 20 minutes soaking up water from floor with my towels which I had to take to laundromat to clean!
He then decided he should shut power off at electrical panel and it was then that we saw that the breaker was blown and could not be reset.
He told me and wrote right on repair order to call electrician to service the breaker and that if problem returned, the motor would need replacing, which to me implies that he was not sure it would be necessary.
He applied a $15 credit to the billing.
When the electrician replaced the faulty breaker, we started the washing machine and ran it through two loads without problem. If I was more mechanically inclined, a call to the electrician would have been my first move!
On calling Appliance Repairman customer service to check about a refund of some of the "labour" charges, they state that all charges are justified as he did test machine and that the motor is faulty and will need to be replaced.
I questioned that he really didn't do anything to warrant the $305 charge and to predict the motor will fail is presumptuous on their part.
I would agree to service call charges but full labour charges seems unfair. They agreed to a $25 credit.

Desired Outcome

I feel a credit of perhaps half of the charges is warranted.

Before I made the appointment over the phone, I asked over and over again how much they charge. The lady only mentioned the $80.00 visit and when they figure out the problem they will give me the total estimate. Never mentioned that their minimum service charge was. As soon as the repairman came in he said I had to pay $320 just to open the dryer to see what is wrong and the cost of the parts on top. He said he can fixed it for $320 and he has the parts with him but turns out it is $320 for the service and parts for the starter is $584.10 and he had to order them. They are very DISHONEST. Before I booked I gave her the model # and told her what was wrong and never mentioned the $320. Had they mentioned the MINIMUM charge for over repair I would have NEVER booked the appointment. They're *** and only put good reviews on their own website and paid *** ads to be rank number one and can't write reviews on their website. It's misleading to many consumers and at *** you can see their bad reviews ,so many unfortunate customers out there.

Desired Outcome

I paid $280 + HST = $316.40

On and around January 09, 2018 I sent an email to Appliance Repairman about fixing my icemaker on my refrigerator. On January 11,2018 a repair technician from the company visited my house and he said that the cost for service would be $280.00 plus parts. I agreed to the service. He checked the fridge and told me that it needs a new water inlet valve and the cost for the parts would be $330.18 plus tax. I agreed. The total cost would be $689.50. He request payment of $524.41 and that the balance of $165.09 would be paid after the work is completed. He did have the parts so he said he would order it and return with it in 2 weeks. On January 23, 2018 he returned and found out that it needed one more part. He went away and returned on January 26, 2018 . He installed the parts and told me that it will start working in 3 hours. I paid him the balance of $130.09. A DISCOUNT OF $30.00 was given. This was at about 3.30pm. I waited for the icemaker to start working and it never did. I called the office on January 27. 2018 to complain. ON January 31, 2018 he came back and told me that the fridge needs an icemaker *** at a cost of $472.74 plus tax and if I agreed he would take off $100. I told him that I would call the office to complain, which I did in front of him. I did not get a good response from the office. I was told that that is the final deal and if I don't want it they are will to give me back $75.00. I told them no. The technician left without doing anything. On January 31, 2018 at about 3.30. pm I sent an email to the company asking them to return my old water inlet valve and the total amount of $659.50 paid to them for the job not done.On February 01, 2018 I received a phone call from the company offering me to install the icemaker at a cost of $186.22. 50% before and the balance after installation. I have agreed but with reservation.

Desired Outcome

I am requesting that the company do the necessary repairs and refund me for the water inlet valve part which was installed un-necessarily, knowing that the real problem was the icemaker and not the water inlet valve.

01/21/2018 Was quoted $80.00 to look at ice maker not working on Samsung fridge. Showed up was then quoted $280.00 to service ice maker electrical system and water system. Service did nothing Which is a joke. Told if ice maker continues not to work ice maker needs to be replaced. Ice maker did not make a single ice job after the service they knew it was not fixed.

Desired Outcome

Either refund my money or subtract the $280.00 charge off the cost of replacing ice maker.
