Same "MO" as all the other reviewers...even the $ amounts match. ***
leaking dishwasher...$80 for service call, quick diagnosis with repair quote for $290....only to find a simple drain hose leak..part cost thru them $ 327 ...for a hose! I say no so off they go with $ 290 for 30 min work. sweet. Wish I had done my due diligence and searched out all the review sites

Called appliance repair man on a Sunday as my tenants fridge was not working. Office said it would be a $80 service call, sounds fair I said. Tech came out said fridge was not getting signal to the fan to tune on and he could try to fix it for $280. Was stuck at the time so I agreed. He took it apart and said the evaporator fan was not working and needed a new one. He quoted me $346 plus tax for the part and part could take up to 2 weeks to get. I was mad, so I am going to spend over $700 on a 13 yr fridge that I can buy new for about $800. They never tell you that he will try to fix / diagnose for $280 plus tax, you find this out after he is at the house, that is what the $80 charge should be for . *** making you think they are going to give you a quote on full repair for $80, that is not true, they will tell you what is fully wrong for $280 and then charge you a astronomical additional price for the part.

The service man advised me that he had repaired my machine and that I would not have the same issue any longer. He advised that the transmission may have to be replaced at some point in the future, but that I should not have any immediate issues. He advised that replacing the transmission was not recommended as it was too costly and I would be better off buying a new machine when the transmission did give out. I paid the $280 + tax. When I did my next load of laundry, I was still having the exact same issue as prior to the visit. I called to ask for a refund and was told that they would not refund me as I didn't replace the recommended part. I explained that it was not actually recommended that I replace it and that I didn't mind paying the service fee, but felt that the rest of the fee should be refunded.

Desired Outcome

I would like the fee refunded less, the $90 appointment fee.

Re: Appliance Repairman Work order #*** Technician= ***
I'm writing today regarding my recent experience with the Appliance Repairman company. I feel as though the company has taken advantage of me as a customer by cleverly wording and discreetly hiding fees for their services. It's unjust!
On Feb 4, 2018 I called the Appliance repairman company whose phone number I found online with a number to call from Cambridge. When booking the appointment I was told that the cost of the visit would be $80. They did mention that any parts and labour fees would be extra after the technician took a look at my washer, I accepted and booked the service call. The technician came out on Feb 5, I was asked to leave work early since the technician was on his way and earlier then the time window that was booked.
Upon arrival I took the technician to the washer where he immediately proceeded to take out a clipboard, he notified me in order for him to open the machine to give me an estimate I was required to sign a "work order" stating that I was aware that the "service fee" would be $280. If I chose not to sign the work order then his visit was $80 ( no estimate given ). I did sign this "work order" but at the time there was only the date, my name, my partial address, the make of my washer and the $280 in the subtotal column. After being in the basement for 30-40 minutes the technician called me down and showed me pebble like crumble pieces. He said the 2arms shattered and the drum assembly would need to be replaced at a cost of $883.76 + tax and $280 for the labour fee. All other information on the "work order" was filled out after I had signed the paper prior to him starting , no servicing was done on the motor, rotation system, shocks end motor and there was definitely no leak test done as states on the work order .... He didn't eve run the machine.
After declining the part and labour (which cost more then my washer) the technician was quick to gather his belongings and charge my credit card for the amount of $280 plus tax =$316.40.
Shortly after the technicians visit I called the Appliance Repairman Company to express the unfairness I felt after being charged the amount I paid. I was told that the labour was done and that I signed the work order. When I asked to speak to a manager, the customer service representative stated that they are the ones who deal with these types of situations and that nothing could be done. Needless to say this conversation did get me quite upset. I was told by the representative that she didn't appreciate the way I was speaking and that she was going to hang up , and she did.
Poor customer service, shady company, out to get your hard worked money.

Desired Outcome

Refund of the $316.40 "labor fee", apology for unethical business dealings

I had them come repair my microwave they wanted my credit card info before the job was done. They left without completing the job and now my microwave is dangerous as there is no ventaliation. They illegally charged my card for services not rendered and left my condo at risk for danger. I have tried to call multiple times with no response.

Desired Outcome

Refund. I will contact another company to complete the work.

We called the Appliance Repairman to see if they could come out on Oct 4th 2017 to repair our fridge. They told us they couldn't until the following day of Oct 5th 2017.
I told them that I needed somebody on the 4th to take a look at it for us. They said that they couldn't but they could send a guy out on the 5th and book an appointment but I could cancel the appointment the evening of the 4th if I found another company that would help me that day.
In the meantime I found someone else to give us the service that we were looking for on the 4th so I then called the Appliance Repairman back late afternoon on the 4th to cancel.
I spoke to someone on the phone when I called and told them that we wanted to cancel and they told us that was fine.
We then had our fridge repaired by another company on the 4th.
The next morning a service man showed up at our door from Appliance Repairman and I told him that I cancelled our appointment yesterday which was the 4th of Oct.
he told us "Not a problem" and went on his way.
I then received a phone call in Late February of 2018 from someone at Applaiance Repairman telling me that I owed them $90.40 for a service call. I then went on and told them that we had cancelled and they insisted to pay them anyway.
I then received a letter in the mail from them dated February 6, 2018 but we did not get it in the mail till February 26, 2018.
I then had someone call me on February 28th telling me that I have to pay but they will reduce it to $50.00 instead of $90.40.
I told them that I am not paying for something that we cancelled for and for them to stop calling me.
They told me that if I don't pay they are going to send this to collections.
Today is March 1st 2018 as I'm sending this complaint in to the Revdex.com for any assistance in refraining the Appliance Repairman from continuing to solicit us on this matter any further.
Thank you !

Desired Outcome

We would like to have the Appliance Repairman stop bothering us on this matter and hopefully stop them from practicing this type of behavior towards other consumers.

We contacted Appliance Repairman to have our *** fridge serviced. The technician came in and claimed her performed services totaling an amount of $299.45. He stated the fridge should now work however, he recommended we replace the compressor. We contacted *** as parts are under service for 10 years. They sent a technician to address the issue. The *** technician states that the work that was billed by Appliance Repairman was never actually performed as had it been performed the evidence would have been proven on the fridge. He advised us to contact the company for a refund and to contact the Revdex.com and report them for fraud. He provided us with a written statement stating that the work stated was done was never actually done and stated he is more than willing to provide his contact information to testify to this fraudulent billing. I contacted Appliance Repairman February 15 2018 and reported this issue and demanded a refund. The representative told me that there is no management at the site and would need the written statement from *** to review the file. They stated they cannot refund the issue as the work was already done. I called them again today as I just received the statement from the *** technician, again I was told there is no management there and they cannot issue the refund. I forwarded them the email and demanded a refund. I advised them I will be reporting them to the Revdex.com and I demand a refund as they are stealing peoples hard earned money. We were more than willing to pay for services that were received however, as proved the work we paid for was never conducted. I hope that the Revdex.com can help in this matter so crooks like this can never steal from another honest citizen again. Thank-You, and I look forward to hearing from you in regards to this resolution.

Desired Outcome

I would like a full refund of $299.45 for the services that were not performed and I would like for the Revdex.com to investigate this company to ensure this never happens to another customer again.

I have a dishwasher (very inexpensive) which needed some repairs, it wasn't washing properly. the repairman told me that he could do the initial repair for 250.00 and will probably be fine, then he called me and told that there was more that the machine needed and it was going to cost over 700.00 to repair, I told him that was a crazy amount and I could get a new machine for less. He then insisted that I couldn't and basically bullied me in to the repairs. we contacted the company three times after wards as the machine wasn't fixed and I was told it needed additional parts and would costs about 300.00 to repair. I didn't agree. The machine is still not working properly. I feel like the repair person and company completely took advantage of the situation and has unfairly charged me for repairs that were not properly done or needed.

Desired Outcome

I would like to try and get some money back, if not all of it.

REQUIRED A PART SPECIFICALLY A BURNER FOR MY STOVE AND WENT ONLINE TO LOOK FOR A STOVE REPAIRMAN FEB 20TH, 2018.

FOUND "APPLIANCE REPAIR MAN" AND CALLED THEM TO INQUIRE ABOUT THE $80 SERVICE CHARGE AND POSSIBLY SET UP AN APPOINTMENT. THEY HAD AN OPENING SAME DAY, 5 - 8P.M. AND I SAID OKAY THAT WAS FINE. THEY ADVERTISE THAT THERE WOULD BE AN $80 SERVICE FEE THAT IS REQUIRED WHETHER REPAIR IS DONE OR NOT AND THOUGHT THAT WAS OK AND AGREED TO GET SERVICE.

THE REPAIRMAN ARRIVED AROUND 6:00 P.M. AND MY HUSBAND AND I EXPLAINED THAT THE CONTROL BOARD ON STOVE WORKED AND THAT OUR FRONT BURNER WAS NOT. HE THEN NOTED SOMETHING ON HIS PAPER AND SAID THAT IT WOULD COST US $280 LABOUR TO DO THE REPAIR STOVE AND IF THAT WAS OKAY SIGN THE INVOICE SAYING THAT I UNDERSTAND...AND THOUGHT WELL LETS HOPE THAT THE PART DOESNT COST THAT MUCH AND WE'D SEE...KEEPING IN MIND IF THE TOTAL COST OF LABOUR AND PART WOULD BE TOO MUCH WE'D BE LIABLE FOR ONLY THE $80.

HE THEN PROCEEDED TO OPEN THE BACK OF THE STOVE TO EXAM THE MAIN BOARD (CONTROL PANEL AFTER WE EXPLAINED THAT IT WAS WORKING FINE) THAT TOOK HIM 15 MINUTES JUST TO OPEN IT UP, LIKE HE NEVER OPENED ONE UP BEFORE...AFTER HE INSPECTED IT OPENED THE STOVE TOP AND CONFIRMED THAT THE FRONT BURNER NEEDING REPLACING, AS WE MENTIONED. AFTER A FEW MINUTES OF SEARCHING FOR THE PART AND PRICE SAID THAT THE BURNER WOULD COST US $557.58 PLUS TAX. WE WERE TOTALLY TAKEN ON THE COST OF THE BURNER WE HONESTLY COULDNT BELIEVE THE COST AND IMMEDIATELY SAID I DONT THINK SO...THAT'S TOO MUCH AND WE CANT AFFORD THAT AND WE'D BE BETTER OFF BUYING A NEW STOVE WHEN YOU ADD THE $280 FOR LABOUR AND $557.58 PLUS TAX. I QUICKLY SAID WELL I THINK WE'LL LIVE WITHOUT THAT BURNER FOR NOW AND LOOK INTO BUYING THE BURNER OURSELVES. WE THEN WANTED TO PAY FOR THE $80.00 SERVICE CHARGE AS THEY MENTIONED BUT THEN HE SAID NO YOU OWE THE $280 PLUS TAX $316.40 FOR THE LABOUR AS YOU AGREED WHEN YOU SIGNED. I SENSED THE TENSION AND HE CONTINUED TO MENTION THAT IF WE DONT GET THE BURNER TODAY THEY WOULD STILL HONOUR THIS AGREEMENT IN 60 DAYS BUT IMMEDIATELY WE GOT SCARED AND NEW WE GOT ***...WE DIDNT WANT ANY CONFRONTATION AND PAID BY DEBIT BECAUSE THEY WOULD ONLY TAKE CASH OR DEBIT NO CREDIT.

MY HUSBAND AND I LOOKED AT EACH OTHER AFTER THE REPAIRMAN LEFT AND SAID WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED. NOW WHAT DO WE DO? WE WERE OUT $316 AND STILL HAD NO BURNER REPAIRED.

I CALLED THE OFFICE IMMEDIATELY AND TRIED TO GET MORE CLARIFICATION ON WHAT HAPPENED AND THEY TOLD ME THAT CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT WAS DONE FOR THE DAY AND I'LL HAVE SOMEONE CALL YOU FOR THING IN THE MORNING. THE NEXT MORNING I CALLED THEM BACK AFTER 9:00A.M. AND SPOKE WITH ***...I EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED THE NIGHT BEFORE AND SHE IMMEDIATELY SAID YOU SIGNED AND AGREED TO THE LABOUR COSTS AND THERE'S NOTHING WE CAN DO...NO MATTER WHAT I SAID THAT NOTING WAS REPAIRED NOTHING WAS SERVICED JUST DIAGNOSED AND I WANTED A REFUND AND SAMETHING WAS SAID TO ME "BUT YOU SIGNED AND AGREED". I WAS JUST GETTING ANGRY AND THOUGHT WHAT AN IT WHY DID I PAY AND NOW WILL NEVER SEE THAT MONEY AGAIN. *** SAID SHE COULD REFUND US $65.00 AND I TOLD HER NO THAT I AGREE TO PAY THE $80 AS YOU MENTION AND THAT'S IT.

SHE TOLD ME SHE WOULD TALK TO SOMEONE ELSE AND GET BACK TO ME.DAY LATER FEB 22 (TODAY) I CALLED AND SPOKE TO *** AND SHE FORWARDED ME TO *** AND GOT NO WHERE WITH HER AND SHE ALSO SAID THAT $65 WAS THE BEST THEY CAN DO.I LEFT IT AT EMAIL ME AND I WOULD EMAIL THEM BACK REITERATING THAT I WANT MY TOTAL REFUND LESS $80 AND SHE SAID OK BUT WILL SEE THE CHEQUE IN 10-15 DAYS.WHY DO WE HAVE TO WAIT AND THEY GET THERE MONEY ASAP AND WE HAVE TO WAIT.PLEASE HELP US RESOLVE THIS AND NOT ALLOW THIS COMPANY TO TAKE FROM PEOPLE IN NEED.I LOOKED AT AS; WHEN YOU GO TO THE MECHANIC YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOUR CAR,THEY LOOK AT IT AND LET YOU KNOW WHAT THE COSTS FOR THE PARTS AND LABOUR WOULD BE AND THEN YOU DECIDE TO PROCEED.NOT ASK FOR THE LABOUR UP FRONT, THANKS
