If I could leave stars I wouldI cancelled my service with ADT after being with them for around 5+ years and transferred to VivintWhen I cancelled service the first time was around May 27th, then after about months went by I noticed that ADT was still taking their monthly payment I called ADT back and spoke with another customer service rep to find out why I was still being charged I then was told by the customer service rep that the service was never cancelled by the previous rep and he/she would cancel my service and refund the months that should not have been paying for serviceA few weeks later, I called ADT back to check on the status of my refund since I received a letter in the mail that seemed like I was only going to be reimbursed for monthHe informed me that the cancellation in May did not take place because the call was droppedThe call was not dropped, had it been dropped I would've called back and cancelled that same day, I would not continue to pay for a service that was no longer connected and of no useI was told that I would receive a refund of $but not the full months, a total of over $I was told that there is nothing I can do to dispute this so I basically just gave a company over $for nothingI had been a loyal customer with this company over the last 5+ years and they are not willing to right their wrongThey must be hurting for the money if they would rather have their name bashed by tons of ex customers rather than just do the right thing, makes me happy I left

Never have I been more frustrated with a home service - any service, not just security, than with ADTStarting with the window sensors: almost immediately after the system was turned on, we started getting trouble signals on our window sensorsIt would happen about every 1-days and repeatedly for the same windowsA service technician came out and adjusted the sensors and then a few days later we would get trouble signals on different windowsThis went on for months until our initial free service window expiredOnce past the months, we would need to pay for technicians to come to the house unless we signed up for the Quality Service Plan
This part is completely exasperating to me: I agreed over the phone in September to buy the QSP maintenance plan for an additional $per monthBecause we'd had so much trouble with the sensors, the call center agent offered to waive the initial visit fee of $The technician came, charged me only the $trip fee, and replaced the bad sensorTwo months later we were having problems again with a different windowWhen I called they said I was not signed up for the QSP maintenance plan, but would I like to sign up nowI said yes again, told them I thought I had already purchased it and they agreed to waive the initial $feeThey sent a technician out and he charged me nothing for the visit, not even the trip chargeTrouble signals on different windows continued and in December I called for another service visit and they said AGAIN that I was not signed up for the QSPThe agent assured me I would be signed up starting Jan and it would cost $per monthI called for service in January and for the 3rd time was told I was not signed up on the QSP but if I wanted to sign up, it would cost $per month and have a $trip chargeNow very skeptical about this QSP I asked the call center agent and the technician who later came to the house for some paperwork about the QSP as I seem to get different answers about the costs associated with itNope, no one has any paperwork to show me how the QSP works or how we are charged for it!!
By the way, the technician who came out yesterday said we just needed new batteries in the windows causing the trouble signalsI told him that's been done before with no success and he didn't seem to care and today AGAIN those same windows are getting a trouble signal
So in summary, for the QSP I have been quoted $14/mo, $7/mo, and $16/mo with a trip charge of $0, $or $There is absolutely no paperwork to read about it, what it covers and what it costs, not online or otherwiseI think it's a complete sham!
I would like to rip out the whole system now but I'm locked in a year contractThe call center agents AND the service technicians have all let me downI really regret signing that contract as it has been such a hassle to deal with ADT and still the hassle continues

I live in Calgary and have had shouting matches with your customer calls -usually at 7:AM on Saturday and Sunday mornings calling about a service problem at our cottage in Manitobahrs different from the Montreal call centreFirstly they know nothing about the word cottage home -lake front home and summer home- Hove no clue where Manitoba is and where Calgary Alberta is - The problem concerning my making a call to a service representative from Manitoba meeting me at the Cottage when I travel back to our Lake HomeIf you see the call log you see that I have been transferred to the Tech support times and placed on hold for to minutes as the time I sat on hold and waiting for a technician - was too long and tied up my home line too long Your company lost our Home account Calgary Ab when we moved and no one answered my request for a quote and install to our new Home This lack of customer service issue at Cottage is too much to handle - Do you follow up on your calls to customers ??? I am not happy and will spend time seeking out another provider
Intrusion alarms - at a cottage also have low heat -high heat monitors.- Electricity monitors and fire monitorsWant to add cameras to my internet and view cottage from out home in Calgary - So your company is only part of our secure lake home - as we pay for telephone lines- internet - and electricity -Motion alarms and check with the Police every year in person to make sure we/they have identify associated to an alarmIt is more complicated than your perception of what I need Your equipment then is subject to weather fluctuations - then we will get someone who answers your 7:am Montreal calls from Montreal as out west has no concept of vastness of a malfunction of your equipmentTrying to call times in a week is not what I paid forTwo postal codes Calgary *** Manitoba ***

Loyal customer for eight yearsWe had to move and we are leasing our new home and using ADT is not an optionADT Is still charging us!!

I have submitted a settlement request with this company a year ago I got a phone call but no correspondence to my letterNow I'm getting collections
The equipment install was goodHowever the wireless system was install on all the metal doors and not the windowThe front window of the store has a one inch crack that can be easily access from the outsideThese is no protection from this window at allI went to harbor fright and bought four security camerasI mounted them very easily and connected them to my Phone, this gives me real time video information on my shopI also installed the cameras in my homeI can be any where in the world and still have access to all my businessThe ADT system is good but is outdated and does not integrate with other systems on my phone that I need to work for meI don't need the police to show up after the factwith extra cost

I have had nothing but issues with them with my camera and system and stating I'm still in contract
I have called and called and called and got nothing but issues with this companyI called to cancel my medical alert which thankfully they did because my daughter got me a system in the home that everything is combined and cheaperI then go to cancel my alarm and they say ok and then tell me I owe the, 400$I called in about complaints on cameras not working and what notThey tell me they can drop my rate to until my agreement is upSo you can drop my rate but not cancel me outThey came back to re hook up my cameras so I can have the lower rate and they should of just come and taken the equipment back and cancelled me outThey do whatever they can to keep making money off peopleIt didn't make sense for me to pay on separate systems when my daughter could get me same system all include different one bill and her payCompanies do this to you so they keep youThey told

I sold my home and ADT is demanding that I keep the service or buy out the contract
When I purchased the service I asked the salesperson whether I could cancel if I moved or sold my homeHe stated that if I moved and the new location did not permit ADT I would be able to cancelThis was blatantly untrue, I recently moved out of state to an apartment building that does not allow ADTI tried to cancel ADT and was told that I have to buyout my contract or transfer the service to the new ownersHow can I force someone buying my condo to takeover my ADT service? This is a horrible business model and the contract and sales people prey upon those concerned about their safety

Getting called 3-times a day trying to sell their services
Getting called 3-times a day trying to sell their services I've told them each and every time to take us off their calling list I then call the number back and it asks if we want to be taken off the calling list to hit the # I've done this after calling them back after they have called my house This is very annoying I'm even on the National Do Not Call list Please remedy this as it is a pain to answer the phone and explaining that we do not want the service The latest calls are even up to or p.m

ADT sent my bill to collections without notice!
Had ADT for yearsRecently sold our home & moved across countryADT had our new mailing address as I received the cancellation notice they sent me, however, they failed to mail me my last bill (they said they did) & months later receive a collections notice for $15.39! Where was the bill, 2nd, Final notice?! When I called to canx service, the rep said I was all paid up?!

I have been a customer of ADT for some time and my experience with them has always been very good
They were excellent with service calls, their technicians were Professional, knowledgeable and polite and this can also be said for their customer service and online customer service representatives as wellThey were patient and took time to walk me through any issues I was having online or with my system Overall their customer service is wonderful

Terrible! Please don't go with ADT they will rip you offThey make BIG promises but don't deliver and promises you "extra credit" but then lie about it on the paper workI'm so glad I read over the agreement and got out of the deal within my first days or else I would've been stuck for years paying way to much money for a terrible serviceAlso the tech is all about the moneyHe/she will up sell you over and over again, they wanna come into your home so it's harder for you to say no to thingsBut then get mad when you tell them noCustomer service is awful! You go around and around in a circle trying to get to the correct person (so you think) just to be put on hold for minsThe tech was not good a math when it came to adding up my bill he made multiple mistakes and I had to correct him on his mathADT says they have you in mind when installing the security system just to guilt trip you but really don't careAll they care about is the MONEY!!

Defenders Inc, installed security system on July 9, 2016, this installation was discussed and agreed to be a month to month service, instead Defender, Inc entered a year contract service agreement that I did not sign or authorizeI ended the servie with ADT on February 12, 2018, paid the account thru June ADT has since accessed a $balance for fees owed through the reminder of the contract Had serveral telephonic discussions with ADT Security Services related to this matterThis matter has since gone to collection with Virtuoso Sourcing Group for payment

I ordered a trial product on line as a free sample No where did it say I was signing a contract for additional shipments to be charged to my account It was falsely advertised as a product from Clinique which it is notWhen I called to dispute this, they refused to credit my account and cancel the subscription The main office at Bluffdale Iowa does not have a phone number or website to refer back to to They are not listed The customer service office is in Palm Dale CA and would not release a phone number to company This is a scam and they refused to credit my account

ADT does not conform to it's own policy I was represented with a service and product one way and then they do as they want,and no customer care
My alarm system was improperly installed originallyMy home was burglarized in 12-18-to find out ADT made an error, so it never worked They were to have fixed it, but it still has flaws.On 11-18-my home was burglarized againprior to that I received 3-alarms, leading me to believe the system is untrustworthy I made a claim and was denied I try to contact the representative multiple times and e-mail and no response

We paid for multiple units to have their services, then cancelled before installation because of mixed communicationThese services were paid in fullWe are due a refund
What happened:
Sept called*** used my phone # to look up informationAttempted to try to get me to stay (seemed nice, I also welcome re negotiations) yet failedShe was going off of of the units and not accessing my full accountThen when I requested to refund my funds, she was only going to refund me for account and not the other...I had to I inform her of the other account (not listening to the customer)The refund amount she gave was less then what I paid, so she had to go back and add the other account that I paid forHer initial presentation of her customer service wasn't as "helpful" as it was when she was trying to get me to not cancelFrom 9/8/she said it would take days for a refundAnd she couldn't send me an email of the refund amount or my confirmation
I called ADT on 9/15/to follow up on my refund*** answered and forward me to billing to *** ** said the sales dept handled the refund so he forwarded me to sales, *** from sales, put me on hold and forwarded me to a office and its automated machine said it was close and sent me to the survey automated message that wasn't set up because it was just a dial toneNo one was able to answer my questions of wheres my refund or its confirmation #, seemed very uneasy/unprofessional like they're just winging itSo I did some research and discovered ADT uses private or 3rd parties to run the customer service lines (now I understand a bit, but still doesn't make this play for the customer)

I called ADT on 9/Rep *** answered, I filled her in and asked about my refundShe said it was "refunded on the 16th" (not the 8th, like I was told and requested it on) so she said I should expect my refund on the "26th"
I intended to use the refund money for another security systemThis is delaying the process and putting unnecessary hardship on our family affairs

Was told if I signed a year contract when I had the system installed the monitoring fee would not increase for the term of the contract When I received the actual contract in the mail....was asked to sign a small tablet by installation techI read that the rate could increase...when I called customer service to go ahead and pay the years monitoring fee in advanceI was told "NO" because the rate will automatically increase after the first year A lot of deception going on with the billing department at ADT

Misleading sales pitch Sales representative assured me I would be refunded $519, once I had transferred to my residence It has been more than and month and no refund and no response to my emails I discussed issue with someone in corporate office but no action resulted from our conversation It seems like the proverbial run around
