Horrible customer service, incompetent rude representatives and inability to handle customer concerns
I had a horrible experience with ADT after two years of serviceI called to get upgrades to home security and or cancel if this wasn't possibleThe first call was answered promptly, I was told I couldn't get upgrades then when I said I'd like to cancel, I was magically able to get upgrades but yet the call was disconnectedI called back and there wss no record of my previous conversation that was disconnected so I tried to explain my issue to another representativeThis new representative didn't seem very competent and eventually put me on hold for over minutesMeanwhile, I called from another phone and my call was again answered promptlyI requested to speak with a supervisor and around the same time, the other call(from being on hold minutes) was recovered by a different person supposedly (sounded the same)I was told by the third rep that I should speak with him beca

We moved to a new house and set up services on 4/9/under the impression that we were getting the same services we had at the old location-nothing extraThe installer/salesman tried to get us to upgrade with various products however we informed him we just wanted the basic system we had at our old houseI signed the contract under the impression that the basic system we got was a price of a monthhowever when I received my first bill it had numerous products listed that we do not have but were being charged forI spoke to customer service on numerous occasions to have the issue resolvedI spoke to Joel employee number XXXXXX on sunday, april who assured me a manager would contact me the following day to resolve the issue and that I should only be charged a basic package rate of $a monthNo one called so I called back again on Tuesday, april 26th and spoke to maria employee number XXXXX who informed me that a manager
Horrible customer service Every time you call central station, it's a different storyAnd be careful about your install - they do half the job and then threaten to cut you off and stop your services if you don't pay the full amount

When I first signed up for adt I spoke to an agent from this company and they told me that we would be able to move our service for free or break our contact if we moved to a place where the service couldn't be offeredI have then moved and they are now trying to charge me the remainder of the contactI have spoke to endless amounts of people from this company and this is not rightThey are not promising what they advertisedStay far away from their servicesI called in spoke to their cancellation department they said everything was okay and asked me to fax them a letterI did that and they still charged me the remainder of my contract It seems like they just like making those promises to get off the phone
My husband and I recently got adt install on dec The technician who came out wasn't prepared and had no ladder or drill, so we let him use our stuff, he was drinking on the job and lied to us about what the equipment and saying it will work threw the whole house and which it really only works in one room, the same day we got it installed our doorbell camera quit working, by the time I called the third party defenders were already closed and won't open up till Monday, we'll monday came and I called it took a week for them to get someone out, and the guy I spoke to said I couldn't cancel my contract and to allow this guy to come out, well the technician came out on Monday a week later and fixed one issue with the doorbell and then new stuff to the doorbell quit working, so Monday night we called defenders wanting out of our contract and saying it will be 1000$ to cancel, and told us to call a different number Tuesday morning so we called after being on the phone for serval hours they said they would send a technician out and he will be here in an hour, we'll that was a lie again because he was at a different job so he showed up two and half hours later then the time we were told, he came in to install the free senors they agreed to give us for free and had no idea about the door bell, we'll we were promised that he wouldn't leave till the doorbell is fixHe ended up leaving and wasn't even fixed, so when my husband came home from work he spent hours on the phone troubleshooting it with them, got it up and running only for it to completely stop working hours later, the company has no doorbells in stock to replace ours they still are refusing to let us cancel our contract, every time you talk to someone at defenders the third party company they are rude won't transfer you to a supervisor, and they are uncaring if your situation they have horrible attitudes and don't care, we have had three technician out and have only had the system for now days and have had three technician outs, who can't reslove the issue, they won't let us out of our contract, and on the adt webpage it says not happen they will cancel and refund the money within months, I'm at days of my system not working properly and they won't let us cancel, they are a complete rip off, they cause more stress then it's worth and they lie and tell informationNot only but they allow there technician to drink on the job because every time I mention it they don't care, I wish I could give them less then one

When I terminated my service, I requested a copy of the fully executed contract from ADT to validate their claim I made multiple contacts to ADT requesting a copy of the fully executed contract and received zero response from ADT No call backs, no mail, no email I have bank statements to validate payments for at least years ADT made no attempt to resolve this matter Instead they have forwarded it to a collection agency I was referred to ADT by USAA as a veteran an do not appreciate how they handled this matter I have excellent credit and pride myself on being financially responsible

In summary, this is a business that is happy to take your money but makes it difficult to get out of their service by using incompetent, poorly trained customer service people and managers who don't have enough authority to do what's right when things go wrong

We called ADT corporate to ask if it may be possible to have a strictly ADT employee come to our homeThey said we are out of area but they have a DIY package they could mail usThey also informed us that Defenders pricing was outrageous and they could give us all of the same equipment for a quarter of the priceThat total came to be $with the same monthly monitoring charges We agreed to this, paid the moneyHowever...we then did research on this and come to find out it is also a 3rd party company called ProtectionAccording to them they have merged as one company but the computer systems have not yet been integratedSo we cancelled that as well
It has been a run around since the day the tech walked in the doorVery secretive and lack of information given to their customersI HIGHLY recommend calling ADT corporate and specifying you want an ADT installer, NOT a 3rd party if even ADT at allWe were referred to best buy to buy the Samsung ADT security started kit by ADT corporate themselvesThe monthly monitoring is half the price and the price is a quarter of what it would be for an installer of the equipment
There are multiple class action suits against DefendersI can not express enough to do your research before calling them to monitor your homeShame on ADT for letting them represent their companyShame on ADT for not revealing this information the minute you get on the phone with them

Hello I am hoping to get some satisfaction by complaining to someone who wants to hear about what an incredibly UNPROFESSIONAL, AWFUL experience we have had with your local ADT representative
I know the manager's name is *** I know *** doesn't care about anything but making a sale and shutting up the customer This transaction smelled from the first call I made into the system call center with the agent telling me I could have the system that alerts me every time someone opens the door via email notification for $37/month then he said $ He said I didn't need a phone line then told me he wasn't supposed to tell me but if I got a Cox modem, it has the phone line jack in back and I could get away with not paying the $50/month or having a land line to pay for His name was *** and he got his manager, *** to promises me even more when I became angry We left it that I was to get the Cox modem and I wouldn't have to have a land line and would end up at $37/mo with all the above features
On Friday, Dec 8, *** informed me while the Cox representative was there, that I was misinformed about the pricing He was on his way to our home When he arrived, we went back and forth and he stayed in our home hours, put a large hole and several smaller holes on my Dining room wall before telling me he could not get the bars needed to use the wireless connections without a phoneHOURS AND MANY HOLES LATER, he removed the alarm panel he installed that wasn't going to work and the next day I had Cox come in and activate the phones so we could get an alarm *** is now the 3rd person to give me incorrect information And did I mention HOURS AND MANY HOLES IN MY WALL? He was very polite and honestly, I thought he saved the accountOh, and he told me my concern about giving out codes to say, exterminators, would be easily resolved by giving a "temporary, hour code" to them
Against my better judgement, I called in and rescheduled the installation for Monday, Dec ** was over She too, very polite and installed the keypad over the existing pad location without any problem She installed everything according to what she envisioned and I approved as far as equipment is concerned She did not use the HOLES IN MY WALL and was able to put the pad where I wanted it without additional holes in the wall She finished the install then proceeded to show me how to use the system When all was said and done, I asked about the emails I would get when someone disarms or arms the alarm She advised that was not part of what we signed up forI asked for simple open/close reports that I have gotten from very old alarm set ups from work to my other home and she said, they cannot be done I asked about ***'s recommendation for her to show me how to enter temporary alarm codes and the manager told her no of course that isn't an option I almost threw her and all of your equipment out of my home Now she is texting with the manager Let me tell you, I have a business and another home in another state that have alarms I have NEVER dealt with a more dishonest company or had a more unprofessional agreement, all the while not one manager calls me to apologize for the many misrepresentations And did I mention THE HOLES IN MY WALL????? Shouldn't you be paying someone to fix these holes??? I had a freshly painted home!!!!

My wife and I are from NH and just purchased a home in FloridaWe saw an add for ADT security so we put a call inI was connected to an agent and we proceeded to talk about the security that would work for meI was told by the agent (Angle) that we could set up a time to meet the service guy to talk and complete the deal and I told her that we were just down till Friday and she told me that she could have someone meet us that Thursday afternoon and if we liked what he was showing us we could finish up the deal and have the new system installed that dayI was told the technicians carry everything they need in there vehiclesShe set the time for the following day and then proceeded to ask for my credit card info and I was told this was needed before the technician came out but nothing would be used until we signed the contractThen I was put on hold for a few minutes to confirm the time and when she got back on the phone she told me that time slot was takenI told her that we were flying out and told her to cancel anything she had started because we wanted to be there when it was installed and she refused and would not take no for an answerShe was telling me we could wait till we came back down but I told her that I would just re-initiate the call but that still did not workShe was really getting upset and yelling at me so I told her flat out to stop anything that she started and I hung up because I was so upset at the way I was treatedMy wife told me the next day to check my credit card statement and she did run the money through although it was pendingI called my credit card company and told them I was disputing this chargeI will never recommend or use this company at all after being treated like this
