Metro Energy savers has always done a great job! I have been a loyal customer for over a decade! I have had 2 different homes that have been serviced by Metro and have been thrilled with the level of service and professionalism each and every time! Recently, Jared came to my home for a check up and left me with knowledge about my home and HVAC. He was polite, efficient, and professional as well. SERVICE TECH ARRIVED ON TIME & IMMEDIATELY TACKLED MY COMPLAINT WITH THE TRANE SYSTEM. HERBERT WAS VERY COURTEOUS AND PROFESSIONAL AS HE WENT ABOUT TROUBLESHOOTING THE HVAC, OPENING PANELS AND CHECKING VOLTAGES, WHILE ASKING QUESITONS. I WAS IMPRESSED THAT HE WAS ACQUAINTED WITH THE DIAGNOSTIC LIGHTS ON THE TRANE UNIT, AND ALTHOUGH HE DID NOT FIND THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM, I WAS SATISFIED THAT HE DID GET THE HVAC RESET AND RUNNING AGAIN.

Absolutely a 5 Star review. Metro has continued to offer great service with very knowledgeable reliable technicians. Very happy with the service.

OVERCHARGED AT LEAST $5000 WITH NO RETRIBUTION, PROPERTY DAMAGE, SHOTTY WORKMANSHIP, MALFUNCTIONING EQUIPMENT, FAILURE TO UPHOLD A CONTRACT, INTENTIONAL AVOIDANCE FOR SERVICE, FALSE ADVERTISING. THE LIST GOES ON. METRO ENERGY ARE BOTH LIARS AND THIEVES. NO INTEGRITY OR PRIDE IN THEIR WORK. DO BUSINESS WITH LITERALLY ANYONE ELSE UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR OWN HORROR STORY. Metro Energy claims to have Christian moral values and high integrity. Due to my initial conversation with Nathan when he came over to inspect our AC, he convinced me of this so I trusted him. This was a grave mistake on my part. After agreeing to replace our entire system, we had mentioned the cost to our friends and family and they were extremely taken back. After the realization that we had clearly been overcharged, we did an extensive amount of research, called several HVAC companies all around the DFW metroplex, listing the exact work that Metro Energy had performed and the system they had installed. Every other company quoted us between $13,000 - $15,000. These are companies that have been around for over 30 years. A#1 Air even offered a warranty that was 4 years longer than the one we received with Metro Energy. We were also told by several of these HVAC professionals that typically when HVAC systems are installed out of season, they are installed at a discounted price. They were just as appalled as us when we told them that Metro Energy charged us a whopping $20,529 for the same exact service. We were absolutely sick to our stomach that we were clearly taken advantage of and overcharged at least $5,000. I made several calls to Metro Energy asking them to provide us with a breakdown of everything that they installed, along with the labor so that they could show us why we were charged $5,000 - $7,000 more than anyone else charges in Dallas. After days of trying to get ahold of someone who would provide us with this, Nathan finally returned our call and told us that they will not provide a cost breakdown. This provided to relief to the situation. Instead, he told us that he "has no idea what the costs are". This was another red flag. He charged us over $20k for something that he does not know the actual cost of? He said that he would be coming out for a tune up with one of Metro Energy's managers, Stephen, and that we could discuss our concerns with him. They came out on November 13th 2017. We discussed our concerns with Stephen, and he too, refused to provide a cost breakdown. At this point we had deeply regretted ever trusting Metro Energy, as they were making no attempt to provide a clear justification as to why they charged us over 20k for a service that should have been no more than 15k.
We asked him to discuss our concerns with the owner (about adjusting the cost to what was fair, what we should have been charged according to the actual cost of the equipment and labor). He agreed to have a conversation with the owner and get back to us. Stephen also inspected our new HVAC system and found that there were several adjustments that needed to be made, and that they would come back and make these adjustments to make sure everything is working properly. A month went by and we heard nothing. We made several calls to both Metro Energy’s head office as well as Stephen and no one would return our calls. We left voicemails along with messages with the receptionist at Metro Energy. Still, no one got back to us. After a week and a half of trying to get ahold of him, we made one last attempt and I was finally able to get ahold of Stephen after telling the receptionist we were at our breaking point with the situation. Stephen acted as though he had no idea who I was and put me on hold several times before telling me that “my notes said that the owner said there is nothing he can do at this time”. I asked him one more time for a cost breakdown, he finally agreed. The following week he provided me with this email:

“Hello Morgan,

Here is the breakdown on the job. Let me know if here is anything else I can do for you. Sorry for the delay.

Equipment = $ 9,283
Duct Work, Return Duct Work, IClean, New Supply and Return Plenums, Hanging Kits, Pans, Switches, Gas Pipe, Flue Pipe, Pad, Whips, T-Stat, Outdoor Wireless Sensor, and Misc = 4,320
Labor for install = 2,250
Insurance, Workman Comp, License, Permits, Marketing, Finance, Warranty, and Misc. = 4,676

This is Metro Energy’s idea of a professional cost breakdown for a $20,529 bill. There was nothing listed in his so-called “cost breakdown” that was non-standard in the HVAC install we received. We are absolutely disgusted with their lack of professionalism and integrity. However, the disappointment does not stop there. When they installed our system, their installers were over an hour late, they left fiberglass all over our clothes and carpet in our closet, and they nearly cut the light out of our ceiling when installing the new return in our front hall. There is now visible damage to our ceiling where they had cut several inches too far. They expect us to repair their mistake. Not only this, but our heater has been making a terrible noise ever since their install. It has now been almost two months since Nathan and Stephen came out and the work has still not been complete, the damage is still there, and after several emails to Stephen, we still have not heard a word. We have given them nearly 2 months and several chances to make things right and they have not. We strongly advise everyone to stay far away from Metro Energy. It is clear that they have no intention of providing any sort of refund so our hope now is that no one else is ever put in the same situation they have put us in.

Metro Energy Savers has been in business for over 30 years. We strive to provide the best customer service and satisfaction in this industry. We offer upfront straightforward pricing to the consumer and always provide options to our customers that will best suit their needs. We do not pressure any customer into a sale and make sure everything is explained clearly before the purchase is made.
Based on the special we were running at the time for purchases of complete 18 or 20 SEER systems, Ms. was presented these options to choose from:
Option 1 - Financing for 0 down, 0%, for 72 months
Option 2 - Furnace valued up to $5,000 for free
Option 3 - 9K BTU 15 SEER ductless unit for $1
If Ms. had selected Option 2 of the free furnace with the $5,000 discount by paying cash, check, or credit card, the total invoice price would have been $15,529. However, she chose the financing with Option 1.
Ms. signed the invoice upfront agreeing and approving the $20,529 invoice amount. She also signed all the finance documents agreeing to this amount prior to the installation of the equipment.
As for the quotes she stated she received, they are only comparable if you are truly comparing “apples to apples”, which includes the same model of equipment, same work done, same indoor air quality products, etc. Stating you received several quotes that were less does not prove that these were “apples to apples” quotes. We are very knowledgeable about our competitors pricing and we keep our prices very comparable.
The warranty provided to Ms. was 12 years parts and 10 years labor on the Daikin system that was purchased. Stephen and Nathan did perform a quality check on November 13 after the system was installed and everything was working properly at that time. No complaints were made at that time regarding any damages or the quality of work.
All of our work is guaranteed. If Ms. will call us, we will be happy to resolve any issues regarding the system we installed.

This public response by MES has been by far the fastest contact we have received since day one. My husband deeply regrets that he was not home at the time of the contract signing, because we both feel that I was taken advantage of due to my gender and lack of knowledge on the subject. BE AWARE that your financing agreement and customer satisfaction acknowledgement are both signed at the same time, BEFORE ANYTHING IS INSTALLED. Clever, but not the most “Upfront” business practice. This legal safety net makes sense after seeing the joke of service they produce. We have much better things to do with our time, especially during the Holidays, than form a complaint. I wish we were enjoying our "top of the line products and services" and recommending MES to our friends. Even with the higher costs, recommending MES to our friends is exactly what we would be doing if they had even attempted to be who they claim to be. We have made at least 5 attempts by phone and twice by email to Stephen to address our issues. This is not including the several calls we had to make in order to finally get Nathan and Stephen out for the “quality check” on the 13th of November. All of this can be verified by electronic records. No one will actually assist us. So much for service plan we pay for. If you ever manage to contact someone it turns in to a game of diversion and loopholes that makes your EXPENSIVE service package useless. MES took just 24 hours to respond to a public review, but after nearly TWO MONTHS still refuses to respond to us personally to offer any kind of assistance. We had several issues with the installation, outside of the findings of Nathan and Stephen on November 13th.
1 - Since MES installed our new HVAC system, our heater has made a loud noise and we have mentioned this issue several times to MES. Even after they came on the 13th of November, it is still making the same noise and they are well aware of this.
2 - MES installers nearly cut the light out of our ceiling and left visible damage that is still there. 3 - MES installers left fiberglass all over our clothes and closet and were over an hour late to the install.
4 - Stephen and Nathan came for a quality check on the 13th of November and we were assured that adjustments are always needed after installing a new unit. They assessed the unit and said that they would need to come again to make more alterations and adjustments in order for the unit to work properly and at 100% efficiency. The quality check revealed issues that we brought to the attention of Stephen and Nathan such as damage to our ceiling and the loud noise when heater was in use. They detected inefficiencies on their own as well that were stated above. That was frustrating but understandable if those issues would have ever been resolved. According to our service plan that we pay extra for, this should have been a quick and painless process. No big deal. it is now January 3rd and that work is still outstanding after they said they would be sending techs out to as these inefficiencies. No one has made any efforts to finish this work even after we have reached out to MES on our own several times. This is what you consider the “best customer service and satisfaction in the industry”? Not only that, but after an extensive amount of research and conversations with several HVAC companies around DFW who have been in business for over 30 years, we find that we were ripped off at least $5,000.
The quality check was not a positive one as you have stated. Otherwise Nathan and Stephen would not have listed all of these alterations that needed to be made, and we would not be here right now. If everything was fine we would not be spending our time writing poor reviews for the benefit of others, instead we would be enjoying the "top of the line products and services" that you sold us. We have given you two months and several opportunities to make things right before posting a negative review and you have chosen not to attempt to make them right in any sense of the word. The quotes we received are based on a 4 ton 20 seer Daikin unit, with an iClean, new duct work, a new return, new furnace, and a warranty. As we said previously, all of these companies provided all of this, including an equal, if not longer warranty than yours. The quotes are "apples to apples." Anyone who does a quick survey of companies in the area will find this to be true. We gave you several opportunities to provide us with a reason for the price discrepancies compared to other companies, and neither Stephen, nor Nathan, nor the OWNER of Metro Energy has been able to do this in a reasonable and detailed fashion. Vague pricing breakdowns left much room for inflation for identical or even inferior MES products and services. A competent business owner would be able to generate precise invoices very quickly. I don't think competency is the issue here. The issue is integrity. If you worked as hard on your service and products as you do on finding a way out of your service obligations, you would have 5 stars from us and everyone else in DFW. We reluctantly posted a negative review only after being disrespected, devalued, and lied to for two months. We would be happy to remove negative reviews if your commitment to service and contractional obligations are fulfilled. It is clear to us that your public perception to new, naive prospective customers, is much more important to you than the actual products and services you provide to those who have already signed a contract. As a company that charges so much more than it's competitors, it would only be reasonable to assume that your customer service would be reflected in the large price gap. This has not been the case. We are not asking for anything other than what we have paid for and for the service and quality of products you have promised. We have not received a refund for the price difference or even a reasonable explanation for it. After over paying $5,000-$7000 we haven't even received a fully functioning system. We were excited to do business with a company that cared so much about their work but it is obvious that all that you care about is a one-time contract and not a long term customer relationship. What a very short sighted business strategy and certainly one that only works because of the booming population. If MES was to operate in a small town it would be out of business in the first season. Fortunately for MES there are plenty of people moving in to take advantage of and once the contract is signed there is little rebuttal. At this point, even after being over charged, all we want is a what we payed for: "top of the line products and service." We currently have a $20K+ bill for damage to our ceiling, a unit that still has outstanding work that has not been completed, a heater that makes noise and a company that will not return our calls or emails. A company that has been in business for 30+ years and claims to have 100% customer satisfaction and high integrity should be better than this.

Just had my big-yearly check up with metro. Every thing was working as it should. Their workmen are very thoughtful, friendly, and always do an excellent job reviewing my heater/air conditioner. I bought my equipment from them several years ago and have not had any problems.

I am very satisfied with the service. We knew that we were going to need a new system. The representative/technician gave a clear explanation of the different options, made it easy to compare the different options, and setting up the appointment to have the units installed and the financing were easy and stress free.
