This is absolutely ridiculousYes, I did set up the repair in October of and the Toshiba Repair Services cannot get the parts to fix this computerI contacted them today 1/28/and they still have not received the partsThis is now going on months. Toshiba America has the worst Customer Relations that I have ever seen from any company. Toshiba cannot provide parts to the Toshiba repair centers that they contract to and the American consumers are just out of luck. I demand that Toshiba refund my initial purchase of $1, or provide me a comparable computerIt is next to impossible to contact any officer in the Corporate office and I have written two (2) letters to the Corporate office that have not been responded to. I guess my next step is either the State Attorney General or Small Clams Court

A TAIS representative was in contact with our customer on 02/17/TAIS received the customer’s unit on 01/28/in our repair facility with a damaged mainboard, which is out of scope of the warranty (out of scope meaning it is not covered under the standard limited warranty)TAIS has
informed the customer the cost of the repair is now their responsibilityThe unit has been shipped back to the customer unrepaired under Fed Ex tracking number: ***The unit was delivered to the customer (Mon 2/17/9:am) At this time we consider this matter closed

Point A.) This is a serious request for help & support...I purchased a Toshiba computer, a well known companyThe day I purchased this computer it was OBSOLETE...Toshiba you knew well before the date of my purchase that there were major problems with RECALLED COMPUTERS....When you did this recall in February 2, you failed to notify mePoint AA.) I don't want this obsolete computer repaired. I am thinking I want my money refunded $634.00. This rejection from Toshiba is a slap in my face, I no longer wish to do business with them
Point B) I originally purchased this computer December 6th 2010, exchanged on ApproxDec 15,for not working properly including problems with the speakers. I returned to *** in the beginning of January, I was trying to do a comparison and this computer was no longer on display or on orderPoint C.) OUTSIDE THE WARRANTY FOR YEARS:
First I must say that I didn't use the computer a lot. I called TOSHIBA with my complaints (over-heating) and the bad speakers. Never in their conversations told me of their RECALL. It's been in my office for 1/years....WHY DID TOSHIBA NOT TELL ME OF THEIR RECALL AT THIS TIME? Of course, it's outside warranty because of their negligence
Point D.) Let say Toshiba purchases something for their Company DO THEY EXPECT THAT PRODUCT TO WORK?
Point E.) I could consider putting my problems with TOSHIBA on some public forums. I could also consider getting an attorney and suing for the cost of the COMPUTER and ATTORNEY FEESThank you in advance,

For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.The business refuses to adequately address any of the complaints originally listedThe primary complaint is misrepresentation and fraudI am aware that resolution through the warranty is limited due to the warranty's expirationMy primary complaint is the business represented this laptop as if it were built with high quality and made from aluminumNo where in the attached description does the business disclaim that the laptop is actually constructed from plastic or does the business acknowledge the propensity of the laptop to break at the hingesThis is my primary complaint that they misrepresented the laptop in the description which induced myself and other consumers to purchase itPlease see attached description and images via this link (http://us.toshiba.com/computers/laptops/Satellite/S50)The images portray the laptop as made from aluminum.
A review published more than three months after I purchased the laptop by review experts mentioned the flimsiness and potential inadequacy of the lid"The display is held in place with two little hingesThe hinges don't appear to be particularly stable, and it doesn't take much to make the display bounceIn terms of manufacturing quality, there aren't any conspicuous problemsGlancing over the computer with the naked eye, we can say that some parts of the case could fit together more perfectlyThe removable battery is secured by two screws on the bottom side of the deviceAny other maintenance work requires the base plate / base unit to be partially dismantled." See http://*** There are numerous actually countless complaints online from folks experiencing the same issues of this poorly constructed productPlease see attachments of forums and complaints on both Toshiba's website and other outlining the issueTo make matters worse, Toshiba provides no adequate remedy. Initially, I was fine purchasing a replacement lid and repairing myselfHowever, in a show of bad faith, I was told by their parts supplier that they no longer manufacture the part leaving no adequate remedy except replacementThis is my final message to the business in an effort to seek an amicable resolution prior to pursuing other legal avenues.

We all knew it was a BIOS problem when speaking with the tech at Toshiba, and we never set it up so it is a faulty part on Toshiba partWhen I spoke with the tech on the phone he assured me it was covered under warranty or I would have never mailed itHe also said use this reference number if they try to charge youSo I was lied to, tell the truth Toshiba and don't promise things that you won't follow up onI also spoke with a supervisor the other day and she said I can't talk to anyone above her she isn't allowed to transfer meI asked for corporate information she said I don't have it go find it on the webVery unprofessional I am asking for Toshiba to stand behind there wordIf you were told the BIOS will be fixed under warrant then you should believe what the tech says?? I feel deceivedMaybe the tech should pay for it so he doesn't tell other people the sameAfter my computer reached Toshiba, and they emailed to respond to them, No one would answer the phone for a week when it says call this number to authorize the fix? Mailbox is full is unacceptable, what if I was calling to authorize paymentMy computer would have been mailed back according to the emailVery unfair treatment, and very unacceptable the way customers are treatedI was lied to, deceived, disrespected, ignoredI would really like my back tooWhat a waste of time

This is just a few reviews of customers that is unable to recover their content from your portable driveAgain I purchased your product based off of the advertisement of storing and recovering my data from your driveAt any time your company knew of a chance of that not being the case, a product overview statement should have been posted for buyers informationThis issue has been there for more than a year and at no time have Toshiba corrected the issue are posted the potential of not being able to access TB of your personal dataThe only way this can be resolve is for Toshiba to pay to recover my personal data and pay me for another drive or replace the faulty drive***
