I think Charlotte observers salesmen are a total rip off.. I signed up for the paper last year in a Walmart off Wilkerson blvd.. I was told I'll also receive a 10$ gift card and it had nothing on the gift card.. I also ironically never received the paper.. So I contacted the Charlotte Observers customer service and told them my situation and I wanted to cancel because I never received a Newspaper.. They try to get me to accept the online subscription but I denied that offer. And requested an refund.. Which they sent me a refund plus they added the 10$ I never received on the gift card.. However months later I checked my account and they are still charging my debit for a subscription.. I called them back outraged at this time and the customer service representatives told me it's because they still had my card on file... Please whatever you do please be careful dealing with this company!!!
I paid for a Sunday only subscription. Since January 1st, 2019 I have only received 1 Sundays paper. I call every Sunday, speak to a representative.
I paid for a Sunday only subscription. Since January 1st, 2019 I have only received 1 Sundays paper. I call every Sunday, speak to a representative who is always off shore. They supposedly contact the carrier and manager. They always promise to redeliver my newspaper and no one ever comes. They always give me either a none working numbers or numbers that reconnect me to them. I am forced to go every Sunday and locate a newspaper. This is beyond bad customer service. This is flat out bad business and disrespectful. I have reached out to this company and they are non responsive.
Sll i want is that my Sunday paper be delivered to my door every Sunday as i have paid for.
The distribution company has been alerted of the delivery issue. Credit has been applied to the account for 5 months. The distributor will physically verify delivery on Sunday 6/16/19 to be sure that a newspaper is left at this address. We apologize for the carrier error. The distributor will get this corrected.

Failure to discontinue delivery when subscription has expired and when asked
We discontinued our subscription on May 17 2019, The renewal date was May 30, 2019. Customer Service was contacted on May 17 and the representative we spoke with, "Midge", assured us that the cancellation would be effective May 20, 2019. We waived the remainder of our subscription. I repeated the request to no longer receive a paper delivered and was reassured it would stop effective May 20. I checked our account online and it reflected our permanent stop of the paper. However, as of today, we are still getting a newspaper delivered to our driveway. This has become a major nuisance and littering by the Charlotte Observer at this point.
Please save your papers by following the request of a former, loyal subscriber. We need someone to ensure the delivery person has been contacted and will quit leaving a paper.
We will alert the distribution to counsel the carrier immediately and to physically verify the stop.

Repeated charges for services not received. Called to file a complaint twice and money still be taken.
They were set up at the WalMart Marketplace at #4431. After the guy gave me information, I filled out my information. He told me that $45 would come out of my card that day. I told him I didn't have it and walked away. My card has been charged every month. I've called to file complaints where they've "escalated" but I've never received a call back. They've not refunded the months taken and they CONTINUE to take money out. The card I used is a prepaid card so a stop payment can't be put on the card. I'll have to change my card number completely. My pay and child support are put on this card along with other bill pays that would make this an incredibly difficult thing to do. This has been going on for FOUR months now and I keep getting the run around. When I call they said they don't have my name, number or address on file. They've requested and I complied showing them of the charge and amount out of my account.
I want my card information removed from their system. Since they can't remove me from their system and refund the money with my name and address. I have never received one paper from them nor the gift cards and promotions they were offering because I declined the offer.
Dear ***,
Our records state that you have been conversing with one of the members of our team (Meredith from our local office) and was going to provide the last 4 digits of the card number so we can research the charges. Please be sure to communicate this information to her in an effort to resolve this matter.

I renewed my subscription on February 6, 2019 via American Express in the amount of $446.16. They are claiming they did not receive this payment.
I renewed by subscription on February 6, 2019 in the amount of $446.19 via my American Express. On May 2, 2019 they sent me a bill saying that I had not renewed and that I was in arrears . I called them and they apologized and said they would investigate and asked me to send them a copy of my American Express bill which I immediately did. Heard nothing for 2 weeks from them until last week they started calling me and harassing me asking me to pay and renew my subscription. Each person who called me then said "Whoops, I do see here where you paid on February 6th. I am sorry for calling you." Then last Saturday, May 18th they stopped delivering my paper. I called and complained and they said the same thing - "I am sorry, I see where you have paid and I will restart delivery of your paper". They started delivery again on Friday, May 24th. Then today, Sunday, May 26th, they stopped it again. I called the Charlotte Observer today, May 26th, they said "I am sorry, I see where you have paid $446.19 on February 6th, but it also says there is a "System Error" and this has been sent to the Finance/Billing Office." So since May 5th, I have been going through this nightmare with the Charlotte Observer. They are calling me every few days asking me if I would like to make a payment to "restart my subscription". I have repeated my story to each person who calls (about 6 so far) as well as the 6 times that I have called them to try and resolve this and get our subscription started back that I paid for on February 6th. I even paid them a month early, because my subscription from last year did not end until March 7th. In writing, I want the Charlotte Observer to declare that my subscription is paid for in full for one year until March 14th, 2020 (or now even longer since they are not delivering papers to me that I have paid for). They also owe me for all the papers that they have not delivered to me when they have stopped delivery for "non-payment". I have been a subscriber of the Charlotte Observer for over 25 years. My account number with the Charlotte Observer is #CLT-XXXXXXX.
The Charlotte Observer needs to restart delivery of my subscription that I paid for on February 6th via my American Express card. I have sent them a copy of my American Express card bill as they requested of me. I want in writing, a copy of my paid bill, and my subscription should be declared paid in full through March 14th, 2020, or longer, since they are no longer delivering papers that I paid for on February 6, 2019. I also want them to quit harassing me with bills through the mail, and people calling my home every few days asking me "Why did you stop your subscription and would you like to make a payment today to restart your subscription?"
Thank you for making us aware of your billing issue. We are unable to process this refund request. Our records show a charge back request was received for a dispute for a duplicate payment made on 3/29/2018. Your credit card company issue a refund back to you for this charge.
Our finance department had to update your account accordingly to reflect this change. Please check your records and let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

Cancelled delivery in November. Received another charge to my credit card a few days later. I have now received a collections letter for delinquency.
Subscribed for one month to the Charlotte Observer from a solicitation at*** in Indian Trail. Received my papers no problem for the month. When I called to cancel on 11/26 I was assured that no further charge would happen and that delivery would stop. My credit card was charged the following day for December service. I called back and was assured that they would refund that fee and that the account had been cancelled. I received a collections letter dated 5/14/19 stating that my account was delinquent and that CO had tried to collect the debt. How can there be debt for a cancelled account? Account number is XXXXXXXX. There is no way to cancel your account online either. I HAD to call them which was very time consuming and frustrating.
I would like for someone to email and or call me to get this issue resolved. I would also like whatever blemish this has caused on my credit report to be removed. Going forward, I would also like to see a way to cancel your account online and/or get email confirmation stating that you have cancelled your account. In this age of computers, it is antiquated not to already have this in place.
Dear***
I do apologize for the billing issue you experienced with your newspaper subscription.
It's important that we hear from our customers when they are not satisfied with services and I have addressed this issue. Our records show all balances have been cleared for The Charlotte Observer and ARM Solutions.
I do apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused. Your credit was not affected. I will be glad to help you in the future should you have other questions or concerns.
Thanks,

Ordered subscription for Sunday only paper and have never received a single paper to date.
I ordered a subscription from the Charlotte Observer for the Sunday only paper delivery service on April 29th, 2019. The date is now May 20th, 2019 and I have never received a single paper. I have gone online and told to redeliver one Sunday and it still was never delivered. I always write online that was delivery was never delivered and the company doesn't seem to care that I have never received a paper, but they have the money for the subscription up front.
I would like my subscription cancelled, voided and taken out of the system. I also want to be refunded the full amount I paid for the subscription of 65.79
We have alerted the distribution company and they will correct the delivery. The distributor will verify delivery. Credit will be applied to the account to allow for the missed copies and the inconvenience.

Constant late newspapers and not receivng newspapers.
Its the same complaint as previous complaints. On Friday I didn't receive my newspaper. Today I had 1 sales paper, Walgreens and that's it. In April, several missed issues and on Saturdays and Sundays, it was after 9:00 a.m. when and if I received my newspapers. Each time I don't receive my newspaper or its late, I call the complaint number to file a complaint and I file a complaint online. Repeatedly I've asked when my subscription would end because of the late/missed issues, but to this date I haven't received an answer to that specific question. Each reply always says "the weather, car issues, etc" cause late issues. Also, 50% of the times they throw my newspaper anywhere, instead of simply putting it in the box so it wont get wet or be in the street.
I want credit for all the late/missed issues. What's the specific date my subscription will end?
Direct Contact will be made with the subscriber regarding the expiration date and credit for the account
Not receiving my daily newspaper.
I've paid to receive the Charlotte Observer 7 days a week, but... Lately I can't recall the last time I received my newspaper for an entire week straight. Or, without it being late or wet. On Saturdays and Sundays, it normal for it to get delivered after 9. I always hear excuses like they had car issues, or it because weather issues.
desired resolution:
Make sure I receive credit for all the late, wet and missing newspapers.
2 months credit has been applied to the account; extending the subscription until 3/15/20. The distributor has been contacted to correct delivery issues.
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
As long as I get credit for all the times that I didn't receive my newspaper or when was late. Please hire some dependable, reliable, dedicated employees. Not someone, like the one now, who deliveries the newspaper whenever they want to.

Consistently missed deliveries.
I have a subscription to the Sunday newspaper. They have failed to deliver it for the past month. I notified them of missed deliveries on their website 3 times (4/8, 4/22, and 4,29). I have also called their customer service last Monday (4/29). They promised to deliver the previous Sunday paper on Tuesday (4/30), which they did not. They also again missed delivery yesterday (5/5). I had to go through the Revdex.com to resolve this same issue last year (Thank you!).
I would like to have my paper delivered on Sundays as promised and paid for!
We have alerted the distribution company of the carrier error. We have asked for physical verification of the delivery for the next several weeks to be sure the carrier is following through correctly. We have extended the subscription through 08/09/19.

Subscribed to Sunday home delivery of the Charlotte Observer on March 17th, 2019. I've never received a single issue.
I subscribed to the paper thru a representative in*** on March 17, 2019. I initially signed up for 4 weeks of the paper and paid $12.81. The representative assured me I would start getting the paper the following Sunday. I've never received a single issue of the paper. I've called customer numerous times. I've made sure my address was correct and suggested the paper be left at my mailbox. The numbers are very clear on the mailbox. I've posted on FB as well thinking that would get a faster response. I've contacted someone directly st the Charlotte observer also in which she did credit my account until sometime in August. At one point I asked for my money back but they didn't seem to want to provide that to me. Every single time I'm told that distribution and the paper carrier will be notified and they always tell me the paper will be delivered. Well it never has been so I'm no longer surprised when it doesn't show up. This is the worst serv ever. What good is a credit if I'm never going to get one? I just don't know what else to do besides what I'm doing now. I did give the Charlotte Observer a chance to make it right and well they just haven't. If they can't provide a service when they say they can then they don't need to offer it!
At this point I want my money back and the company needs to figure out why I've never gotten a paper and they need to let me know. Once they figured it out and corrected it they need to provide me with about a year long free subscription of the Sunday edition paper in print that is act delivered.
Our delivery partner, The Gaston Gazette has been contacted regarding the service. They deliver our papers in addition to our own. We have asked for verification of the delivery on Sunday. We have applied credit to the subscriber account.

On 4/12/19 I was contacted by Obserever sales dept.and purchased a mo. subscription! This is 5/2/19 and still no paper!
Purchased charlotte observer monthly subscription from sales call on 4/12/19 no delivery to this date 5/2/19! I have filed 3 separate complaints to customer service so far! they stated on all 3 complaints that they would put a red flag om my account and escalate this and contact regional mgr.as well as delivery mgr. However still no paper! The most horable service I have ever encounterd in my life!I have lived at my address for 17 years and have bought and cancelled many subcriptions of the observer for this very reason!I live in a rural area but still pay the same as anybody else!Service has always been very poor at best! They obviously don't care!I ONLY PURCHASE THE PAPER FOR COUPONS AND CIRCULARS AND THE SPORTS SECTION BECAUSE THE PAPER IS VERY BIASED AND PERTICIPATES IN GROUPTHINK!VERY LEFT LEANING!WOULD PREFER A MORE UNBIASED NEWSPAPER LIKE THE OLD CHARLOTTE OBSERVER USED TO BE!THIS NEWSPAPER IS ON A DOWNWARD SPIRAL AND SOON TO CRASH WITH THIS TYPE OF SERVICE!To this date nobody has had the decency to contact me with an explanation for the poor service I receive! The sale dept. stated that they had corrected these issues wit delivery and content but obviously just a sales ploy!Service is worse than ever!
CREDIT FOR NONDELIVERY AND EXCEELENT SERVICE AS PROMISED!
We have contacted our delivery partner at The Gaston Gazette and asked for immediate assistance for the delivery at this address. Credit will be issued for the missed copies and the inconvenience. A follow up email will be sent to the consumer directly.
