Review: My complaint involves a 20 or so dollar charge under my maiden name [redacted]. They sent me a bill for something from [redacted] YEARS ago, and when I tried to pay it they said the account number on that was listed on the bill was not valid. I attempted to pay this bill and was not allowed to. They then put a hard credit inquiry onto my credit report and I am VERY upset about this. They had no right, especially after repeated attempts from me to pay this bill.Desired Settlement: Remove the credit check from my history and get rid of the bill. I tried to pay, you wouldn't let me. If not resolved I will also be going to the attorney general.

Stellar Recovery is in receipt of a complaint filed by [redacted]. We have been unable to locate a file in the name of [redacted] as indicated by Ms. [redacted], we have never done collection work for [redacted]. At the end of April, in cooperation with [redacted] Credit Repoting, we ran a collection Data Report that included appoximately 400,000 accounts in our system. The information obtained by [redacted] was suppose to be a "soft inquiry", however, [redacted], in error, ran a "hard inquiry." They are currently in the process of correcting this "hard inquiry" and if a credit report was added, it will be taken off her credit report. If Ms. [redacted] has any additional questions, she can contact me at ###-###-####, ext 120 or e mail me a[redacted]

I was just called by this company for the first time by [redacted] who was asking for my mailing address and for me to verify my name. I didn't understand where she was calling from so I asked her to repeat the company name, she told me the company name then gave me part of "my" mailing address and asked if this was where I was receiving mail. I was confused because I never told her I was the person she was calling for.
I didn't understand why she was calling so I asked and she told me she wouldn't tell me why she was calling me until I verified my address.
I explained to her that I wasnt going to give my address out without an explanation. She then told me she had my social and could give me that instead, I said "ok" (just to see if she would give me my whole social security number) and she proceded to give me my full social while already had given me part of my address!
I was almost speechless! I could not believe that this woman was giving out my personal Information when I had never even verified who I was! I asked to speak to her supervisor and she hung up on me!

Review: Was calling to collect debt with no written notification, also spoke with my roommate and not me, the roommate identified that it was not me when posed with the question "Am I speaking with [redacted]?" the roommate said "no this is not" the call center debt collector then proceeded, after being informed it was not me, started to explain all debt and personal financial information to the roommate and my roommate kept informing them "you probably need to be speaking with [redacted], not me" but continued to press the issue and attempted to collect the debt from my roommate. The debt is now over 2 years old and they only started to attempt collection 7 days ago. Spoke with a supervisor "[redacted]" and he was very rude and ridiculed me for my concern about personal and financial information being shared with a 3rd party not me.Desired Settlement: At this point I will refuse any phone calls from Stellar Recovery and have contacted the creditor directly only to find out that it was an accounting error and that I will be receiving physical notification of the rectification.

Stellar Recovery is in receipt of a complaint filed [redacted]. On 04-21-2014 our office was assigned a [redacted] file in the name of [redacted] for services at [redacted]. On 5-30-2014, we spoke with a person, attempted to identify the consumer, when the person indicated he was not [redacted], the agent offered to remove the number. According to the recording, the 3rd party then indicated that "he was the Better Half" and "I am in a relationship with him." the agent then gave information regarding the file in our office and the 3rd party indicated that billing was disputed and had no balance due with [redacted]. The agent then indicated that she could close the file as disputed and attempted to explain the process of dispute. At this point, the 3rd party asks to speak with a supervisor, the agent put the call on hold and the call ended before a supervisor was available. The 3rd party called our office [redacted] and spoke with a different agent and said he needed to speak with a manager as we just disclosed his "roomates" personal information. He further advised that he was recording the call and indicated that he would give this information to "[redacted], so he can sue you." Our records indicated that the original agent did close the file as disputed. On 06-03-2014, the consumer phoned our affice and again informed our agent that we had disclosed personal information to a 3rd party and believed that we were a scam and demanded to talk to a supervisor. A supervisor got on the line and again, the consumer threatened legal action, thought we were a scam and that he would pay [redacted] directly. The supervisor advised that the file came from [redacted], he was welcome to call [redacted] to verify that information, gave our web site information and attempted to answer his concerns. After reviewing all call, notes and speaking with our employees, we believe the 3rd party prompted our agent to give information as a "spouse" as the agent indicated she would take his number out, but the 3rd party continued to indicate that he was directly associated with the consumer as his "better half" and "in a relationship." Based on the "informed" information by the 3rd party, the file was properly closed as disputed. Our agents were not rude but always attempted to be helpful on all the recorded calls.

Review: This company somehow attained a copy of my information somehow and old accounts that have long since been closed and is systematically going through it and claiming that KNOWN CLOSED and settled accounts are still open for nominal amounts (in my case Century Link for $100) but there have been others in the past.

Operating out of their Florida location and others out of Montana as a way to get around the ongoing lawsuit in Montana, when contacted on the phone for a request to send the documentation they have that they are basing their credit entry on, the customer service agent abruptly hangs up and any attempts to call back go to a voice mailbox that is not monitored. This sets up a situation where unsuspecting callers either PAY or are systematically blocked.

I am aware of the lawsuit against this organization that was awarded last year, however it appears they are continuing to prey on unsuspecting consumers. If I wasn't so on top of my credit I might have paid this over the phone and they would have stolen money from me. However, I did not as I KNOW that my account is closed and they cannot produce any evidence that shows otherwise.

This organization is a sham, a scam and is illegally reporting items to credit agencies.Desired Settlement: This agency needs to be IMMEDIATELY COMPELLED to remove their negative credit reporting on me as they have nothing of empirical value that shows I am responsible for the debt they say I am. I am in close contact with Century Link who report that I have a zero balance.

This organization needs to ANSWER THEIR PHONE and allow consumers to advocate for their cause.

I wish to be added to any and all ongoing lawsuits against this organization as their fraudulent credit reporting tactics have damaged my credit and violated my civil rights.

This business is COMPLETELY FRAUDULENT and when it is not being prosecuted in Montana it is shifting it's underhanded and violating tactics down to Florida Shut them down, in Montana AND Florida! Put the people behind this fraudulent activity in prison!

Review: Stellar Recovery has listed a collection of $40 on my credit report. I would have never known about this collection if it wasn't for Free Credit Report's monthly service. According to my credit report, the collection, which originated with [redacted] was opened on 2/12/2015. The report date to the credit bureaus is 2/14/2015. The last time I had an account with [redacted] was in 2010. That account was closed and paid in full when we moved to North Carolina. We never received any notices in the mail from [redacted] regarding any further bills. This claim is fraudulent. Stellar Recovery has not contacted me to request payment at any point, nor did I receive a letter stating my right to dispute this claim within 30 days. I called Stellar Recovery multiple times today, and the customer service was extremely rude and condescending. They admit to not attempting to contact me but refuse to delete this from my credit report. This Collection agency is representing [redacted]. When I cancelled my service when we moved in 2010, I returned all equipment and requested a final bill from [redacted], which they failed to provide. Stellar placed this collection in my credit report without providing a letter to me, AS REQUIRED BY LAW, indicating the charges and explaining my consumer rights. I am happy to pay any balance I may owe, however, I would like a detailed bill in addition to a letter from the collection agency (as required by law). I would like this to be removed from my credit report immediately as my rights as a consumer have clearly been violated.Desired Settlement: I would like a detailed bill as well in addition to an appropriate letter from the collection agency explaining this $40 delinquent account. I also wish that this be removed from my credit report, effective immediately ,as my consumer rights have been violated by Stellar Recovery.

Stellar Recovery is in receipt of a complaint filed by [redacted]. Our records do indicate that on 12-03-2014, we received a past due billing from [redacted] for an [redacted] for services at [redacted] in the amount of $40.37. We do show that contact was attempted by telephone numbers given to Stellar by [redacted]. Our records further indicate that yesterday, 03-03-2015, there were several conversations between Agents with Stellar and the consumer and [redacted] who stated he was the spouse. During the earlier calls made, it appears [redacted] paid the account in full. Later, our agents were informed that [redacted] had paid the bill directly to [redacted] and demanded a refund for the payment made to Stellar. [redacted] also spoke with different agents and demanded that this be taken off the credit reporting for [redacted], said he would report to the Revdex.com, and threatened to have his attorney get involved. Our agents, according to the notes, indicated that we or [redacted] would refund one of the payments after verification was made of multiple payments made on the account. Agents with Stellar also indicated that the credit reporting would be updated as paid in full, but not deleted, which is our standard policy with [redacted] accounts. We will continue to monitor with [redacted] if multiple payments have been made and will have [redacted] refund any payment back to the consumer. In order to respect the consumer, we have also ordered deletion of the credit reporting for this file, confirmation for the deletion request is [redacted]. We have requested copies of all calls made yesterday and will review them with the agents involved to see if any actions by our agents were questionable in the handling of this file. The file is paid in full and deletion of the credit reporting has been ordered.

Revdex.com,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me as long as it is deleted from my credit report as this company was unethical with the manner in which they proceeded.

Regards,

Review: I received a collection reporting on my credit report as of 11/2013 without any prior correspondence by phone, mail, or email from this company. I do not even know the company that they are representing to collect an amount of $918. If it was not for my due diligence reviewing my credit report, this company would have gone unnoticed reporting an unverified claim and causing a falsification on my credit score.Desired Settlement: collection verification and removal from credit report.

Review: I received a call about collection of a debt that I assume is the same debt that I have disputed with other debt collectors who sold it off to these clowns. They keep calling my phone and not leaving a message.Desired Settlement: Proof of debt, and then when then don't have it like every other one of these scammers doesn't have it, expunge the record from my credit score. And never call or contact me again.

Stellar Recovery is in receipt of a complaint filed by Daniel D[redacted]. Our records indicate that we did receive a past due billing from [redacted] on 02-19-2015 in the name of Daniel D[redacted] at an address of [redacted]. A Dunning letter was mailed to the address of record on 2-19-2015. We show that we spoke with the consumer on 2-25-2015 and according to the recordings, the consumer said he hadn't been working for a long time, was going to be going to basic training soon and would try and return the equipment. He further indicated that he was unable to make resolution at this time. Our records indicate that we had no further contact with the consumer until yesterday, October 6th. The consumer indicated to our agents and Managers on several different calls that he wanted a " pay to delete " on this file. Both the agents and the manager attempted to explain our company policy and that of our client that we do not have a pay to delete policy, but that the file would be updated and reported to all credit reporting agencies as "paid in full." Mr D[redacted] indicated on one call that he would speak with an attorney, that he was covered under the soldiers and sailors act regarding this file and would file complaints. Stellar Recovery has made a decision that the file would be put on hold and would request that the client recall this file. Mr. D[redacted] is welcome to contact [redacted] directly if he has intentions on taking care of this debt. The credit reporting has been ordered deleted due to the fact that we have requested the file be returned to our client. Stellar Recovery is in full compliance with FCRA requirements and are not required to accept a "pay to delete" request as a Data Furnisher. We have ordered a letter to be sent to Mr. D[redacted] per his request.

Review: Stellar Recovery Inc. has been calling me to collect a debt in 2013 from March 1, 2005 (debt to U.S. Bank). They claim I owe $23,537.37. The statute of limitations in Minnesota is seven years which means they cannot legally collect on debt past September 26, 2006 but they have been. Theyve been calling me (twice now) and saying theyll take action if I dont pay. Im on full social security disability and I told them this but they are still trying to get me to pay. Theyve never sent me a validation of the debt, though I asked for one on 9/20/2013, they called me that date and then again today (9/26/13). I want to know what my legal options would be. Thank you. (One of the numbers they called from: ###-###-####).Desired Settlement: I would like this company to stop illegally trying to collect on a debt past the statute of limitations in Minnesota.

Response:

Stellar Recovery is in receipt of a complaint filed by [redacted]. On 08-26-2013, our office did receive an "aged file" in the name of [redacted] that originally was a USBank account. Under the FDCPA, debt buyers and their agencies can attempt collection on accounts that may be out of the Statute of Limitation, however, they cannot process any "legal" action on the file and we do not report the files to the Credit Reporting Agencies. Our policy is to make contact, if possible, and see if the consumer is willing to voluntarily pay the past due billing, if not, we close the file and return it to the current owner of the file. It appears we did speak with Mr. [redacted] on 09-19-2013 and he indicated he was on disability and unable to pay anything, the file was closed. We also spoke to the consumer on 09-26-2013, at that time, he indicated that his wife was a former collector and we are unable to collect on this debt, the agent tried to indicate that the file was returned to the client. This file has been closed and returned to the client.

Review: This company contacted my home a few weeks ago looking for my mother. I stated she did not live at this home and asked how they acquired my phone number. The woman on the phone stated, very rudely, well your mother gave your number as a point of contact. I stated that was not the case, and the woman continued to be rude. I told her not to contact this number again as my mother did not live here. I disconnected the call and then contacted my mother, who stated my sister had called her and stated she received a similar phone call. Today, July 19, 2013, I received another phone call from this company asking for my mother. I stated, once again, she does not live here. The gentlemen then asked where she could be reached. I asked him how he got my number, and he then asked me if my name is [redacted]. I was trying to ask him how he knew my name, and he had disconnected the call. I then called back to let them know again to not call this number and the woman was very rude and stated my number would be removed. She stated if I were to receive other calls to just disregard. I believe they do not have any right to obtain my personal information as I have nothing to do with why they are trying to contact my mother, and to their operators are very rude. Also, when they call, I found out they are located in different states, but my caller ID will show a local number, which results in my answering the phone. I am not happy about being contacted by this company.Desired Settlement: I do not want them to contact me again. I think people should be aware of their practices, and the company should make sure their employees are acting professionally when they contact the public.

Response:

Stellar Recovery is in receipt of a complaint filed by [redacted]. Ms. [redacted] indicates that we called her telephone in an effort to reach her Mother. We have attempted to locate the only phone number given in this compliant, which is ###-###-####, we do not have this number in our system or in the history of our system. Ms. [redacted] also did not supply us with her Mother's name and we have been unable to locate the file in question. If there is another number we may be calling, we will be happy to investigate and make sure it out of system. As a matter of informantion, our industry does purchase certain phone numbers that may be "associated" with the consumer we are attempting to contact, sometimes, these numbers could be family members or business associates and we are allowed to ask these third parties to take a message or probe for contact numbers. It is also our policy, once we have spoken to the third party and they are ask if they know a contact or not, to politely remove the number as we are not allowed to continue calls. If Ms. [redacted] can identify the number we are calling, we can certainly investigate to see if our employees were rude, they are trained to remove these numbers as wrong numbers. Also for inforamtional purposes, our dialer systems do use "local" trunk lines throughout the Country and the phone numbers could come through as local exchanges as they are, these numbers are callable and will direct the consumer back to Stellar Recovery via a local line. If Ms. [redacted] would like us to continue the investigation she can provide the phone number we were calling or she is welocme to call me directly at ###-###-####, ext [redacted] or e mail me at [redacted]. We do apologize for the inconvienience these calls may have made and we do train our employees to be customer service when we deal with these wrong, non direct numbers for consumers.

Review: I received neither US mail notification nor any phone calls from Time Warner Cable informing me that I owed a balance of $276 from an overdue bill at an apartment where I used to live with a significant other. Although the account was registered in my name for a while, I reached a point in late 2013 when I was unable to pay the bill due to financial restraints and my former partner told me that she would put it in her name. Some months later, I broke up with this partner when her pattern of physical and emotional abuse escalated to a point where I legitimately feared for my life. I left the relationship and, despite receiving numerous harassing phone calls and texts messages from the ex, attempted to move on with my life. On 5/4/15 Stellar Recovery Inc. informed me that because this alleged balance has not been paid, I am responsible. I explained the situation to them and that I had no intention of paying the balance due to the emotional distress caused during that time and that each of their calls triggers traumatic memories of abuse I survived linked to symptoms of PTSD. Their representative seemed sympathetic, took my ex's phone number and said that they would contact her to resolve the issue. On 5/20/2015, Stellar Recovery Inc. called me once again to attempt to collect the balance. Once again, I told them their calling was triggering me and I asked to speak to a supervisor. The person with whom I spoke - [redacted], Collection Manager - claimed that they had allegedly been unable to reach my ex and that I was still responsible for payment. When I said that I would not pay and that he would have to contact my ex, his response was to suggest we get her on a 3-way conference call. I informed him that attempting to force a victim into a conversation with their abuser was one of the worst suggestions he could have made to deal with this situation. Mr. [redacted] said he would continue to try and contact my ex and, although they would not be calling me any more, I would still be responsible for the balance.Desired Settlement: I want to be able to put this nightmare behind me. I want Stellar Recovery Inc. to take my name off the collection, cease their attempts collect from me and to stop their harassing phone calls.

Response:

Stellar Recovery is in receipt of an inquiry sent by [redacted]. Our records indicate that we did receive a file in our office on 4-28-2015 from Time Warner Cable in the name of [redacted] and a mailing address was provided of [redacted]. We spoke with the consumer on 5-20-2015, he indicated that the bill was for his "ex girlfriend" and he refused to pay. He spoke with one of our managers and the manager removed his phone number and restricted calls. Because we have to rely on information provided by our clients, his ex-girlfriend is not listed on this file and manager closed the file and it will be returned to Time Warner. Mr. [redacted] will need to deal with either his ex-girl friend or Time Warner regarding this billing in the future. Again, we have closed the file and returned it to our client with the dispute information provided by Mr. [redacted].

This consumer claims they have mailed us "several letters" demanding validation of this debt. We show no records of receining one or several letters to our office to date. We know of no notification for credit reporting as a data furnisher that is necessary under the FDRA. A demand letter was not sent on this file as our policy with this client to send such a letter at the point of contact per the FDCPA requirments. We made contact with our client to request validation documents and have been told the documents are not available for this file. We have closed the file as a result of not being able to furnish these documents, which is our policy. Review: I asked them not to call me at work or during work hours, they do anyway from several different numbers and leave rude and threating messages.

Not sure who these people are since they never properly identify themselves, when we did speak briefly I asked them not to call me during my work hours and to send all correspondence in the mail and I would take care of whatever it when when I HAD THE FUNDS. They haven't sent an itemized bill, they continue to call and leave threating messages and I want them to STOP. These people don't no how to negotiate and aren't willing to work with their clients. They need to send a bill I n the mail PERIOD to [redacted]Desired Settlement: To send me documentation of matter to [redacted] To stop calling me harrassing me several times a day while I'm at work. Stellar Recovery is in receipt of a complaint filed by [redacted]. On 02-03-2012, our office did receive a past due billing from [redacted] for services at [redacted] for [redacted]. The file history does indicate that messages were left at several different numbers associated with the file but we do not show any actual contact was made on the file and that we were not notified that calls should be retricted to her place of employment. Ms. [redacted] did not provide the owrk or home numbers that we may have called in her complaint, so we can only assume the numbers we have on file are place of employement or home numbers. We do send out a letter once contact is made with the consumer, we do not show to date that contact was made. Ms. [redacted] has also ask for validation of the debt, we did request these documents from our client and have been informed that the documents are not available or this file. Once we request validation and it is not available, our policy is to close the file and return it to the client. The file was closed today and returned and all credit reporting has been ordered to be deleted. Ms. [redacted] is welcome to deal directly with [redacted] going forward regarding this billing.

Review: Upon review of my credit report I noticed an account in collections from Stellar Recovery placed in November of 2014. I found this very interesting as I had not received any phone calls or written information from them regarding the alleged debt. When I contacted Stellar Recovery the first time the agent was unable to locate the supposed account or provide any information. I was then told that due to the fact they could not locate the account the trade line would be removed from my report. A couple of weeks ago I was attempting to buy a car and found the Stellar Recovery collection was still being reported. Upon contacting them a second time I was informed, after various attempts to locate the information that this was a Comcast bill dating back to 2009. The agent could not provide any other information. This account was closed and paid in full with Comcast in 2009. When I asked why I had not received any calls or letters to the alleged debt the agent said it was sent to the address on file. I have not lived at that address since 2009. I then asked for a letter to be sent to my current address so I could dispute and was told they could not do that. I wish for Stellar Recovery to be removed from my credit report with all 3 bureaus immediately. I contacted the original creditor Comcast and they were unable to provide any details on this account. In my view this is fraudulent and Stellar Recovery has not followed the FDCPA.Desired Settlement: Complete removal of Stellar Recovery collection account on my credit report for all 3 credit bureaus.

Stellar Recovery is in receipt of an inquiry made by [redacted]. Our records indicate that a file from Comcast was sent to our office on 09-12-2014 for a [redacted] with a service address of 3[redacted]. These services were charged off on 03-03-2009. Our investigation shows that we did send correspondence to the address we had been provided by our client and attempted to make contact by phone with numbers also provided by the Client, but we do show no contact was made until the consumer phoned our office on 2-23-2015. The consumer indicated, according to the notes from the Agent that he returned the equipment and paid the bill owed to comcast and owed nothing and was disputing these charges. The Stellar Agent noted the file, closed the file as disputed and ask for the file to be returned to Comcast as disputed. The credit reporting was also ordered to be deleted after the call and was processed through our system on 02-26-2015. Based on the Revdex.com inquiry, we have also performed a manual deletion request dated today (03-03-2015) , confirmation number is [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] is welcome to contact Comcast in the future regarding this file, the original comcast account number was [redacted]. The file has been closed as disputed and returned to our client, the credit reporting has been ordered deleted.

Review: I obtained my credit report in October of 2014. I found that Stellar Recovery had been listed on my credit report. I didn't authorize them to be listed and I researched the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and they were in several violations. As of last month they were listed on my credit report for 14 months. I sent them certified letters on November 20th and December 17th of 2014 and I have yet to receive a response. They didn't validate with the debt within the 20 days I initially gave them. They also didn't contact the three major credit bureaus and notify them that I disputed their listed on my credit report. I have also contacted the three major credit bureaus about Stellar Recovery's below violations.

According to FDCPA Section 811 (a)(2), a collector must be in the county in which the consumer lived at the time when the original contract was created or the company will be fined.

According to FDCPA Section 809(b), FTC opinion letter, Cass from LeFevre, a collection agency will be fined if the company has not validated the debt and the company still continues to report it to the credit bureaus.

According to FDCPA Section 807(8), if a collection agency fails to report a disputed debt to the credit bureaus they will be fined.Desired Settlement: Every month that Stellar Recovery was listed on my credit report it hurt me financially. It lowered my credit score. I was trying to contact them to get answers but they ignored my lawful and legal requests. As of right now they violated at least three of FDCPA 811(a)(2); 809(b); and 807(8). I will give them another five business days to respond. This is unacceptable and illegal.

Stellar Recovery is in receipt of a complaint filed by [redacted]. Our records indicate that we did receive a past due billings from Comcast for a [redacted] on 10-12-2013 for services at [redacted]. Our records further indicate that we had no contact with the consumer until we received a request for validation via mail on 12-01-2014, our office noted the file as such and the file was placed in validation status and documents were requested from the Client. (there is no 20 day requirement to provide these documents under the FDCPA). All collection activity including reporting of the debt ceases during the validation period and our records do indicate that deletion of the credit reporting was ordered on 12-05-2014. While the file was on hold waiting for validation documents, on 12-22-2014, we received a copy of an ID Theft affadavit and a letter from the consumer claiming this file was Fraud. Once we received the Fraud claim, the file was then closed as fraud and the file was ordered to be returned to the client with the fraud information enclosed. (This would supercede the validation request, as the Fraud closed the file and returned it to the original client.) Again, Stellar processed properly all written requests made by the consumer regarding this file in our office. The file is currently closed (our file # is [redacted]) and no reporting to credit reporting agencies is being done. If the consumer has further questions, she is welcome to call Comast and reference file # [redacted].

Revdex.com,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Stellar Recovery benefited by having access to my credit report for 14 months in direct violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) failing to verify the disputed debt. They ignored my written requests and didn't respond and had access to my personal and financial information for 14 months. Their response to you is the first time I have heard anything from them. Their chronology is incomplete. Stellar Recovery was in violation of FDCPA. After review of their response, I will not accept their failure to comply with the law for 14 months.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]

Response:

Stellar Recovery has received "additional concerns" from [redacted]. We see no violations of the FDCPA or FCRA in reporting the debt that our client indicated was due, we are a data furnisher under the FCRA and properly reported, we are not sure what "Benefit" was associated to Stellar by the reporting on behalf of our client as required. We did not ignore any written requests, we properly documented the file when we received a validation document and requested validation documents from our client. When we received notification of fraud, the file was then closed as fraud and returned to our client. We certainly did not ignore any document provided by the consumer.

We believe this may be a wrong listing being reported by the credit reporting agencies as the name appears to be different. We have ask for validation documents to be provided by the client. Regards,

Review: I am extremely disappointed with this issue. I am in debt with over $400 because of this account that was opened without my consent. I have had debt collectors call and harass me over this. I have tried disputing this matter, yet they continue to leave it in collections on my credit report. I would please ask for this account affecting my report to be removed. They have failed to do so and do not meet the FCRA Requirements. I am considering filing a lawsuit against this company if it is not resolved immediately.Desired Settlement: I would please ask for this account affecting my report to be removed.

Stellar Recovery is in receipt of an inquiry made by [redacted]. Our records do show that a file was placed in our office from Century Link for services at [redacted]. We show that a demand letter was mailed to the consumer on 02-14-2015 to the [redacted] Address. We further show no direct communication with the consumer. Based on the Revdex.com inquiry, we have requested validation of the debt from Century Link. During the Validation period, we do delete the credit reporting. Once we receive the validation, it will be mailed to the consumer for review. If validation is not available, the file is closed and a letter of closure will be mailed to the consumer.

Regards,

Review: Derogatory statement for "in collections" appeared on my Credit Report circa 3/10/15. No telephone or written contact was ever made by this company, and I challenge their rightful status as a "collections agency" on an alleged debt which was never pursued by the issuing company/entity.

This company is well-known for 'purchasing' debt which has been written-off by original debtors in an attempt to make money, and offering contact only via robo-call/automated calls.

This alleged debt "in collection status" appeared on my Credit Report without warning, without official contact, and without any contact from the SRI company or agency representative at any point during the past 2.5 months.

I allege that this is a false attempt by a disreputable company to collect a non-existent debt!Desired Settlement: Immediately remove this "in collections" or "in collection status" from my Credit Report, and do not make any further attempt to contact me, nor to collect this debt.

Stellar Recovery is in receipt of a complaint filed by [redacted]. Our records indicate that a Dish Network file was placed in our office 03-10-2015 in the name of [redacted] (SS # ending in [redacted]) for non return of equipment at a service address of [redacted]. Our records show that multiple letter were sent on this file including dates noted of 4-10-2015 and 05-08-2015. We also show that 9 phone attempts were made to the home number provided of [redacted]. The collection appears to be unreturned equipment (3 pieces total). We have forwarded a copy of the final invoice from Dish Network to Mr. [redacted] at the address on file. We also note that the consumer has ask "do not make any further attempt to contact me, nor to collect this debt." For that reason, under the FDCPA we have marked the file as "cease and desist" and will forward the file back to Dish Network. We do not own this file as reported by the consumer. The file is closed.

Revdex.com,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

My research indicates that this account was

closed and marked ‘written off’ by Dish Network years ago. Further, the SRI

allegation that multiple letters were sent is a falsehood. I received NO

CONTACT prior to the account showing up as ‘in collections’ on my Credit Karma report, I received no correspondence of any type afterward, and any phone calls

which may have been placed to my cellphone resulted in no voicemail messages

from SRI informing me of the purpose of such calls.

SRI's response indicates that they marked the file as “cease

and desist,” marked the account as “closed,” and returned it to Dish Network.

However, I have just checked and the information still appears on my Credit

Karma pages as a debt ‘in collections’ from SRI on both Transunion's and Equifax's report. Per my rights under the FDCPA, this

information MUST be removed from Credit Report with each of the three major agencies, and all links or access to it

deleted.

I again allege that this was an attempt by

SRI to collect a non-existent debt, and that their actions/reports are false and

unethical. This matter remains open until my request for removal of the

Derogatory Remarks and the “Collections Status” of this SRI account is fully

and completely removed from all three of my Credit Reports.

Thank you.

Response:

Stellar Recovery has received additional concern related to a complaint filed by [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] is correct that this file was charged off by Dish Network. When an account is charged off, this is what triggers and begins the collection cycle, it does not mean that the account is no longer due and payable. Our records do show that 2 letters were sent to this consumer and calls were attempted to the phone number provided by Dish Network. As stated, we have closed this file in our office and have returned it to our client, Dish Network. This does not mean that collection efforts will stop, Dish Network may refer this account to another agency in the future, only that Stellar will no longer attempt collections. We have ordered deletion of the credit reporting, the consumer will need to allow the credit reporting agencies to process this request. An future references to this file should be directed to Dish Network.

Revdex.com,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted].If SRI has, indeed, ordered that the "in collections" status and Derogatory Statement be removed from all three Credit Reports, then this resolution is satisfactory to me.
