Below is a summary of our communication with this customer. I called [redacted] and advised that the total charge for the same exact room from millenniumhotels.com is $387.10. I informed that customer that even with the 10% discount, the amount would come down to $348.39 which is still higher...
compared to what he booked on our website which is $343.27. I also informed him that we checked the itinerary of his colleague ([redacted]) which has a cheaper rate, we see that it was booked through our Express Deal option with a different number of nights. I advised that the cheaper itinerary must have the same exact details as his original booking. The customer advised that he sent an email with a screenshot showing a cheaper rate. I checked his email and see a rate of $296.10, but could not verify if it is for the same itinerary, since the dates, room type and applicable taxes does not show. I apologized to [redacted] if we could not refund the difference.

I have received the consumer’s additional comments and have again
reviewed this matter. According to the consumer, she selected a reservation and
provided payment/account information; however, states that she was unaware that
she selected a prepaid reservation, and her account would be charged for the purchase
upon booking. The consumer states that she incurred overdraft bank fees as she
was unaware that she selected a reservation whereby full payment is required
upon booking. The consumer is requesting a refund for her overdraft bank fees alleging
priceline did not disclose that her account/debit/credit card would be charged the total cost at time of
purchase, and full pre-payment is required upon booking.
Attached hereto, is a copy of the consumer’s contract authorizing
the terms and conditions of purchase.
Listed directly under BOOKING CONDITIONS, priceline discloses the
following:
BOOKING CONDITIONS
· Rate Description: Websaver - Full pre-payment
required upon booking.
· Cancel Policy: We understand that your travel plans may change. That's why priceline
doesn't charge you a change or cancel fee. For the room type you've selected,
you can cancel your reservation for a full refund up until noon on Thursday,
August 11th (local hotel time). If you decide to cancel your reservation
anytime between noon on Thursday, August 11th and noon on Friday, August 12th
(local hotel time), the hotel requires payment for the first night's stay. You
will be charged for the first night's stay including taxes and fees. Any
remaining amount will be refunded to you. Refunds or cancellations are not
available after noon local hotel time on your day of arrival (Friday, August
12th). Guarantee Policy: Reservation is guaranteed for arrival on the confirmed
check-in date only. If you don't check-in to the hotel on the first day of your
reservation and you do not alert the hotel in advance, the remaining portion of

I am rejecting this response because:As I have said, I did not select a Specialty Vehicle during my reservation online. I have tried to duplicate this option on the Priceline website and it is not possible. Second, as I have also stated, the Thrifty representative said that my reservation was NOT for a specialty vehicle within their system, but a "Manager's Special" which for them has a different definition. As vehicle that is listed as a Specialty Vehicle as what Priceline is claiming my reservation was listed as would be a truck or other such specialty car. A compact vehicle is NOT considered a specialty vehicle by Thrifty or within the rental car industry. Therefore if my reservation was listed as a specialty vehicle, as a consumer it would never be assumed that I would be receiving a compact vehicle or anything other than a larger more 'special car type'. It's false advertising to claim that I signed up for a "Specialty Vehicle" but then switch the definition of the widely accepted definition of the car type and indicate that it is within Priceline's definition to say that I got the vehicle that I signed up for. I do not believe any other customer who received an email indicating they reserved a "specialty Vehicle" would consider a compact car or any vehicle the rental car company has available at the time as the vehicle they were reserving. As a result it is deceptive to indicate that I should have been aware that I would be receiving any vehicle of [redacted]s choice when the company representative themselves did not agree with Priceline's definition of Specialty Vehicle nor was the vehicle listed as a Specialty Vehicle car type within the Thrifty system.

According to the consumer, more than one year ago, on April 12, 2014, she selected [redacted] Airport, and claims that Priceline changed her selected airport to [redacted] Airport. Therefore, the consumer is requesting a refund for her ticket purchase from April 2014. The consumer states: “On 4-12-2014, I purchased a plane ticket thru priceline.com, departing from [redacted], to what was suppose to be arriving at [redacted] International Airport. At the last minute, before my ticket purchase was made final, Priceline automatically changed my arrival Airport to [redacted] in Austin Texas, instead of what I selected, which was [redacted].” Please note that the consumer selects, and also authorizes the departure and arrival airport(s) prior to purchase. Priceline cannot change the airport(s) selected and authorized by the consumer. Additionally, once the consumer selected the travel details, including the selected airports, the consumer was presented with a contract page disclosing the details of her reservation, including her selected departure and arrival airports, and authorized the purchase. I am sorry that the consumer’s selected reservation from more than one year ago (April 2014), is non-changeable and non-refundable and we are unable to assist the consumer any further in this situation.

Also, while it is correct that the check-out date was booked for December 26, 2016; it was only because your departure time from [redacted] International Airport was 2:28 AM of December 26, 2016. Please note that the property's check out time is 12:00 PM. Your hotel reservation will always follow your flight reservation schedule. Also, should we reserved you to your preferred hotel schedule, you will have to leave the property on or before 12:00 PM of December 25, 2016, making you wait for your flight schedule for 13 hours with no place to stay. Our record shows that when you contacted us last December 18, 2016, you were advised by one of our representatives that your flight reservation can be cancelled and refunded up until December 19, 2016 11:29 PM. Our record shows that we were not contacted again prior to the cancellation deadline that was provided. We have contacted the airline and unfortunately, no refund was approved. As for the hotel booking, we were able to contact the property and they agreed to refund your reservation less one day cancel fee per room. The hotel portion was already refunded in the amount of $1,103.40. Your refund will be processed by our system back to your bank within 1 business day; however since bank processing time varies, kindly check with them if you do not see the refund in your account within the next few business days. They won't match the actual price of the trip and they will not match the hotel offer to give $75 in food for each night purchased. Offering to let me cancel my hotel room is the same as putting money in my left hand and asking for it out of my right hand. I never realized that a business guarantee could be good for only one day. It's one thing to over pay for (what is actually a $600 trip, I paid $900 +) a trip by let's say $50 or so, but over $300? You've got to be kidding me.
