I have spent days trying to close an account I did not authorize to be open Today I spent hours on the telephone with different customer service representatives being bounced from one department to another, being put on hold, and disconnected I was told today that the 7th customer service person would call be back---SHE DID NOTSomeone at USAA "locked" my account so no one (myself and USAA included) can access itThis was the story I was told today I cannot access my account on line, and no one at USAA can access I when I call in to the customer servicecenterI am not getting my credit card bills Everything is "locked." After a third day of this and more cutomer service representatives bouncing me around different departments I HAVE HAD ENOUGH!

Having banked with USAA for many years I've noticed a definite downturn in the quality of their service in recent years - this was finally demonstrated to me this month when I paid off my USAA visa card and its $balance on Aug and found on Aug the same amount was withdrawn again from my local credit union account , having detected the error I called USAA and after much discussion & several representatives USAA stated that my money could not be returned to me until business days had passed ( despite the fact that it had been withdrawn in one business day and that it was clearly an error on their part ) , I was more than irritated being that USAA had cleaned me out of all the money I had in my credit union account and would likely be facing some over draft charges from transactions made in the previous couple of days - I went back to my credit union and arranged to stop payment on the duplicate withdrawal and had my money back in the credit union account the next day When I looked online today to make sure the matter was cleared on the USAA website I found they had added insult to injury by charging me a $returned check fee ! I called USAA and urged them to drop the fee which, amazingly , they did .Lesson learned , stick with your local banks and credit unions to hell with the big banks

I have been a USAA member for years, my father is a US Army Vietnam veteran also a USAA member for 30+ yearsI swore into the US Marine Corps in June of and shipped to Quantico VA for Active Duty Service training, my orders were received on Aug 11th and I reported as ordered to OCS on Sept 9th Unfortunately after weeks I was injured and medically discharged from from the Marine Corps Active duty training and received orders to return home and instructions for line of duty benefitsThat is the background of my service to our country (I wish I was still there)

Received an email from USAA regarding a solicitation for my USAA VISA credit card A link included with the email stated "If you have a USAA credit card, we'll remove the interest on any purchase or cash advances this week."
