refinance process took longer than expected for a couple of different reasons.              The main applicant was not on the Title of the vehicle that was being refinanced. It was stressed to the customer that having 100% confirmation of who is listed on the Vehicle Title was very important for the documents to be set up correctly. We were not made aware of this until we had drafted loan documents for the customer. Once we learned that the customer was not on the Title, we needed to have him added him to it. We contacted the customer on July 6th about this issue. Updated documents were sent back to the customer on July 9th. A full set of documents was not necessary, so only a few Title pages were sent.When we received the documents back from the customer on July 13th, they were missing several signatures. We noted which signatures were missing and returned the documents for completion the same day. We received the completed documents with updated proof of income on July 15th and sent them to the lender.Upon receiving the documents, the loan was put in funding exception by the lender pending the unpaid $250 Title deposit and Title fee. We informed the customer of the increased Title fees and $250 Title deposit. The State Title fee needed to process a Title change increased by $100. This additional $100 would have caused the interest to be increased by 0.25%. We explained this to the customer and offered a couple options—either we add the additional Title fee to the financing and increase the rate by 0.25% or the customer can pay this additional $100 out of pocket and keep the same rate. He agreed to pay this amount out of pocket. As a courtesy to the customer, the cost of the GAP premium was discounted from $559 down to $300.We then informed the customer that he would have to re-sign some documents to account for the $100 down payment and reduced GAP cost, as these amounts need to be reflected on the contract page. At this time, we gave him the option of re-contracting on the current date (July 24th), which would push back their 1st payment date another 45 days. The customer agreed to this. We explained that if he didn't make his current payment, that was his decision to use his grace period and not our recommendation. Ultimately, he decided not to make the payment on time. By refinancing with rateGenius, the customer's interest rate was reduced by approximately 3.65% and his monthly payment went down roughly $30/month, saving him approximately $3,000 over the life of his loan. We appreciate your patience and understanding in refinancing your auto loan with rateGenius and hope that this clears up and confusion or misunderstanding that may have taken place. I am rejecting this response because:"We did not personally take your social security information and run an application without permission. All of the information was collected from Lending Tree, your credit was pulled, and then sent to us to find a lender. Unfortunately, as we are in a different state and have different policies, we are not able to remove the credit inquiry from your file." These lines are deceiving from a end customer standpoint. Lending Tree has admitted that they never pull the credit and pass the information to 3 party lenders. Lending tree also admitted that they are not a financial company and do not pull the credit, as they do not offer any kind of loan. They have said they only share the information. I have personally have talked to the customer service manager over the phone at lending tree before I filed this complaint for clarification. No, I am not interested my auto loan, as these complaints have caused a lot of mental trauma to me.

I sincerely apologize that you had a less than perfect experience with our company. I can surely understand your concern. The message should have been meant to inform you that your credit had already been pulled and to advise you that it is in your best interest to utilize that credit pull, and find a company that worked for you to refinance your car. We apologize if that message came across as a threat as we understand that some consumers may choose to work with other companies. Your credit pull has already been made (at the time of your application), so no subsequent pulls will be made from rateGenius unless you choose to continue with the refinance process.Again, please be advised that there was only an inquiry on your credit as you requested and that it will not state that you have an 'unresolved inquiry' or that you were unable to refinance for any reason. From their website, you authorized them, and their affiliates, to access your credit report for reasons of establishing credit worthiness for an auto refinance. Once the credit is pulled, the application goes through the process of finding a lender that matches your needs. We were not able to stop the process as we were not the ones who originated your application. Since you have noted this as fraud and that you yourself did not submit this application and have submitted proof of a police report, we have submitted a request to the credit bureau to have this inquiry removed. Please note that we are not able to force the bureaus to take any action, we are only able to provide them with the information you have given us. I am rejecting this response because: the fact that you are unwilling to work with me and refund me is absolutely ridiculous. It is because of your agency that we are in the situation. I have been very cooperative with how many mistakes and how dishonest your practice has been with me. From LYING about the rates you originally quoted me to speaking with my fiance about this and not myself. Your agent spoke with my fiance regarding the terms and finalization of the auto loan. I am unsure of what was spoken about and have never worked with a company who speaks with ANYONE other than the person applying for the loan. To me this is dishonest business practice and very unprofessional. This will not be the last you will hear from me. All I was seeking was for a simple refund for the money lost during the time I was being scammed by YOUR company.
