In April 2017, we ordered ADT Security system for our house at *** *** *** *** *** ** ***The Premier Provider # is***The primary reason for this was because we were foing to rent our house and the tenant wanted security system installedAs we were moving back to California, we rented the house from May We told the security company that we were doing it because the tenants wanted security ytem installed and the installers understood and explained to us not to give the master control code to the tenants but only the usage codeEverything was fine
However, after a couple of months after the tenants had moved in, because they wanted more control of the security system, they called ADT Security and had requested to change the account to the tenant's nameAs we were dealing only with our rental management company, we did not have direct contact with our tenantsSo, we were not aware of this change as neither the tenant nor the security company informed us t

I contacted ADT on October 19, and scheduled an onsite tech to evaluate our security needsOn October 20, ADT Protect your Home came to my home to install not assess our needsUpon entering they immediately wanted install a panel on the wall then discuss our needsI refused and explained the previous days conversation which they agreed with but said they were here for installAfter more discussion, they agreed to walk the house and look at needsOnce that was completed we were given an option for shock sensor vs regular window sensors for the same exact price, just a different payment planI decided to not go with the plan as I wanted to stay within the promotionI did decide to add one glass break at approximately $and informed her that we were doing this as the promotion was only $plus taxShe gave us an option of a remote panel that would be better for my wife, to take with her around the house and also that it was easier for her t

I thought the installation fee & $credit with the visa gift card ADT advertised was going to be a great deal for me being a first time home buyer but needless to say this experience has been far from greatDefenders is a partner company that ADT uses to install equipment so I learnedOnce the service tech came in my home he installed some window alarms, a smoke detector & the monitor he said I owed $in total for the equipment! I asked what did my $credit go towards & he said I had windows in my house & they only covered a certain amount so I was paying the difference on the alarmsI was in shock & payed because I assumed he was telling the truth & he had already installed everythingI did ask him twice about what all came with my deal & he kept saying let me install your equipment & then I will show you the breakdownHe finally finished
& then started showing me how the 'so called deal worked'ALL LIES!!! I couldn't sleep well knowing I had just payed for some ** so I went online & researched the reviews somthing I normally do firstFound out that others had been scammed by the way ADT advertised the deal & Defenders was saying you pay for basically every little thing in the packageI canceled my service the next day & they only let you fax your cancelation paper in by business days & was told I would receive my refund once they came & got the equipment back & it would take up to business days for my installment & first month of service refund of & another 2-weeks for my $dollars!!! I was livid & told customer service that it took DEFENDERS seconds to take my money & now I have to wait almost days for my money to come back to me & you have your equipment back NOT DAMAGED!!! Defenders sent me no email confirming my refund process so I had to call & they said I would have to reference back to ADT for my refund email they sent meThis company is the worst as well as ADT for the roll they play in this & I just want to WARN others about them & how their scheme works! STAY AWAY!!!!!

I had an ADT Security System installed on 2-12-and was told I had days to cancel, no questions asked I faxed my cancellation request on 2-14-(within the days) I have scheduled several appointments to have equipment picked up and the technician has not shown up to pick up equipment in the allotted appointment time I have requested a refund and have not received it because equipment needs to be picked up It's a vicious cycle and I feel like I'm being played I reached out to ADT Corporate Offices for my refund and they couldn't help me because I paid Defenders and that is who needs to reimburse me I have now scheduled my 5th appointment with Defenders I am given a time frame between am - pm, and they don't show up or call if they are running behind schedule So frustrated at this point Defenders has received their full payment and don't care about picking up their useless equipment Please help!!!!

My ADT security system was installed on April 2, by technician Broderick At that time after I signed for system and billing, at that time I did not see nor receive by email any terms and conditions, I asked tech Broderick after he telling me that it was a months contract, that if I needed to cancel before that day, because I am a contract nurse and would be transferred out of the country, what the cancellation fee would be and he stated to me that it would be I printed what I signed that day from my email, I did not see any terms and conditions at that time When I heard from my employment on October that I would be transferred to Mexico, I called the ADT defenders about the cancellation fee, told the representative that I would be transferring to Mexico and I stated what the tech Broderick had told me, I stated you do not service Mexico so therefore I wanted to pay the 350.00, because I could not use it there...Upon telling her this she was extremely rude and unc

Worst company I've ever dealt with! They seem to hire only incompetent individuals who don't understand plain englishThey don't provide the services as stated on the signed contractDefenders is a horrible company; as well as ADTADT claimed that there was an intruder initiating a break in through our front door, then the side window; however, there was no such thingTheir sensors were faulty yet they decided to deter the fault to an invisible "intruder." I know this isn't true for a fact because we have security cameras and I was able to clearly see that there was no one tryiing to break in at the time the alarm was triggered! When I called ADT and Defenders, neither one wanted to send a tech out (for which I still have a warranty) to check on the sensors

I became a customer in nov/ Ive been a customer for months I have had several alarms all falling withing the month probation period I've multiple alarms, and now two fines They drag their feet in giving my money but I had days to pay my fine I can no longer leave my house with this alarm on because it stresses me out thinking the sheriff is going to be called again, because of the adequate equipment I have had sever techs out here to fix the situation, but it hasn't worked After promising to pay for my first 50,fine, and instead of cash back, I got a credit for a month I'd already paid forI've My second fine was 100.oo which of course had to be paid within 3o days They say I'll have go wait for their investigation that could take days
so, for the past days I've tried to cancel the service ADT saying a company (vendor) has to cancel So for days I've gone back and fourth Adt, puts on Defenders, and defenders puts it on adt THe

This is a horrible companyI called ADT in June to schedule for new service at my new homeActual ADT was great, but when I had questions as to why I was charged $a second time after I already paid $at the time of install the DEFENDERS representative wasn't able to answer my questionI had a copy of the signed contract that ADT sent to me which never reflected anywhere that payments of $would be taken out of my checking account and nowhere on the documentation did I initial or sign for this optionWhen I tried to call DEFENDERS the first rep just reread the contract I hadI explained that he wasn't answering my question and he became frustrated so I asked to speak to a manager and he hung up on meI called back and received another rep who did the same thing; reread the contractI explained to the second rep that I am reading the same documentation but that my question wasn't being answeredThe second rep then became very short with me and told me that he was explaining the flex paymentsI responded that he didn't explain or show me where on the documentation provided that I agreed to payments of $321.67, that the second rep was just rereading the contract that I just told him I was looking atI then asked to speak to a manager again and the second rep said that he would get a message into a manager and it would take 24-hours to get my call returnedI asked, "are you serious? There isn't a manager there that I could leave a message for myself?" I was asking for this because I felt that the second rep was appeasing me and not going to forward my message onThe second rep said that he was trying to get a message to the manager for me but that "I was refusing to help him"; I simply had a questionI provided my information again for a call back and today is one week after I provided my information and I have yet to receive a call backI ended up calling ADT again because I wasn't getting any help from Defenders and finally someone from ADT actually helped me and connected me with a supervisorIt's very frustrating that a customer is having to jump through hoops to get financial documentation illustrating that I have agreed to certain paymentsDefender customer service is horrible, they treat you like you're inconveniencing them by asking them to do their job and help explain thingsI then asked to have the smoke detector and the carbon monoxide detector removed and the rep said that after days no changes can be made to my equipmentI explained that without documentation showing I agreed to payments of $321.67, how am I supposed to know that a second payment of $is going to be taken out of my checking account the month following installation until AFTER days due to the cycle? The rep said they couldn't help me and that my equipment and contract can't be changedThe rep said that she would send an email to a supervisor asking them to give me a call; doubt that will ever happen and now I'm stuck in a contract (with no documentation reflecting agreement of payments) for the remaining payments of $I would never recommend this company to anyone and I'm surprised by their rating

Business engaged in repeated non-delivery of both verbal and contractual commitmentsThis included committing to replacing our system and components, then refusing (once current system was dismantled) to install equivalent replacements without additional charge; insisting on a higher than quoted charge unless a year contract was signed; demanding additional payments to receive promised rebate (Visa gift card); and demanding advance payment contrary to verbal commitment after contractual right to cancel had lapsed

This all started when I received a promotional postcard from "Protect Your Home" which I was unaware is another business name for Defenders The mailing was deceiving there I called for the "$27.99/month" advertised "exclusive limited-time offer" I was not under contract anymore with my security company so I was looking to pay lessThe offer said: $value free home security system, free pre-wired door or window sensors, free $visa gift card from Protect Your Home, and extra bonus, free wireless key chain remote with panic button (key chains worth $value)I was transferred to a Supervisor, Scott J***, when I said I would think about it He told me that the Tech would come out under no obligation and show me the equipment they were offering before I made a decision The Tech, Aaron S***, came on March 11, He was talking to me about the system but didn't show me anything I was not convinced, he kept insisting on the saleHe was going to have to put

Do not sign a contractThey will impede every attempt to cancel your contractThey installed faulty equipment and then prevented me from cancelling the contract I signed upon installationThey hung up on me, disconnected me, lied and said they would email the cancellation notice, put my repeated calls on hold in a continuous loop without getting back on the lineThey wouldn't provide a business card upon installationThey will not give employee identification numbers, only first names when you call the only phone number you are givenThey prevent you from cancelling within the allotted three days by refusing to repair or replace the faulty equipment until after the cancellation period is overThey do not respect their customers because they will hang up on you repeatedly, they will transfer to another person and leave you on hold indefinitely and they will not provide you with any other contact phone numbers, fax numbers, or email addresses in order to cancelThe install will take longer than advertised and they will not call before the appointmentThey will show up early and give you a pitch for every single product they sell and fill out a form and make you sign declining request to sell you every product they offerThey do not identify themselves with their company name, nor their DBA name until the electronic documents are presented to you for electronic signatureThey only provide you with one phone number for technical support and customer serviceThey do not answer that number during business hours and you cannot leave a messageIf you do get a live person on the line they will keep transferring your call and then hang up on you or put you on a continuous holding pattern, with information about how much they care about their customersWait times are so long you could take a nap and then they will cut the call offThey keep no records of previous communications so you are forced to start completely over again each time you call backThey will not respond to ADT's ticket requests for service of faulty equipment in a timely manner so that your cancellation time will expireThey will not call you to rectify any issues or complaintsThey will debit your account and then you must wait days for a refund after they receive your cancellationThey do not ask you for your job number, they only ask you to verify your name and address and also you must give them your personal password with ADT because they want your passwordThey are not the monitoring company, therefore your password should not be required to reveal your identityThey will not ask you for the Job number, nor your exact date of installationThey will remove existing equipment you have and not tell you to retain itThey will misquote the total price and monthly monitoring fee, in hopes that the consumer does not do the math themselves

I thought I was purchasing ADT, however the alarm system is really through Defenders Neither company is upfront in telling you that the alarm system is being purchased and will be maintained by a third party vendor The salesperson on the phone stated they could install outdoor cameras and the installer would go over all of that When the installer arrived, the first thing he does is drill a hole in the wall and install the main key pad - then he proceeds to go over pricing What we had discussed over the phone was very different than what he was selling He told us he did not have outdoor cameras with him and that I would need to order them on Amazon For my trouble I would receive two Visa gift cards $each to offset the cost of the cameras He told me a specific brand to buy and to buy the offer of the two pack with mounting hardware We had a day cancellation window He said he would come back and install the cameras the day we received them so that we could decid
