I received an offer from my Mother (existing ADT customer) to have ADT installed in my home for $The offer also stated I would receive $gift card and the installation would cost me $I had ADT in my Mother's home prior to this so I wanted to also have it in my new homeI spoke with a sales individual upon receipt of the offer who confirmed the offer was valid and that I should provide the installer my Mother's account number the day he came to my houseHe explained that the entire system could be operated from my cell phone and it included a full house of sensors, detectors, etcHe also confirmed that my Mother would get month free service since she referred me as a customerI scheduled my appointment and at that time was charged a fee of $for installation at the first bill plus taxes, fees, etcA man came to my house on Saturday, August 26th at 4:PMHe was supposed to arrive between and I understand techs can run late, so I was not concerned at that poi

On July O contacted ADT for security serviceThey qouted $for the monthly billThey would not schedule the appointment for days because the previous owner had a unpaid balanceI sent several documents to prove we purchased the home which Defenders would not accept They kept sending me emails that it was not the right document and needed to see page of which was a blank pageFinally they used something they found themselves not trusting what I sent Sales person said existing equipment wouldn't work and sold us all new equipment that was $It took full days to set it up because of system issuesThen we had to sign the contractI noticed the monthly amount was $and I stated it should be $ He said all contracts say that and price would be whatever was discussed on the phone We received after first bill and it was $I called customer service and they said it was for the wireless service and I signed the contractI asked if I could return

I first received services from ADT (Protect your home) in September of While on the phone with the representative, I stated I was moving out of the home in one month and asked if I should wait to install the system in my new home so that I don't have to pay another installation feeThe representative stated multiple times that it would not cost me anything to transfer services from one home to another and that I just had to make an appointmentWhen I moved to my new home in October I was charged an installation fee of approximately $107.00, after just paying that same amount in September for the first installation and was told I would not be charged againADT stated there was nothing they could do about the fee and that it had to be paidI do have audio recording from both conversations, including the representative stating I would not be charged a second timeThe same night the security system was installed, the sensor to my master bedroom was defaulting, thus not allo

Complete lie and ripoff based on what we were told

This company said they were ADT but they are not! When they called to schedule appointment they were a no show for the first one When they did finally come to set it up they placed my on a higher plan than I wanted I have been trying for months now to get this fixed and each time I have to have someone come to the home That is a HOUR window of my time I just want to cancel the contract as they have not upheld their end of the deal

Horrible!!! These people are criminals They installed a service that did not workCalled several times to fix, technicians came out to repair but the system never worked properly from the time of install We cancelled the service as a result and they reported our account to collection

I'm unhappy with your shady sales tacticsYour salesperson/technician Taylor Etold me I had months of free trial and if I wanted to cancel I would get all my money back including installation with no strings attachedWhen it was time to sign papers I saw the "day cancellation" so I was reluctant to signHe assured me that was only one way to cancel to get my money back quicker, but I will still be able to get a full cancellation before monthsHe also told me to to do him a favor and wait weeks before I call to request any additional sensors for free, because that's what his other customers didWell we waited for weeks to call, and when we couldn't get more sensors for free we wanted to cancel and guess what, we can't cancel anymore and we're locked in to the yr contractShady business DEFENDERS d/b/a Protect Your Home, you should be ashamed of yourselfJust close down your business already

In approximately September 20** ADT bought out my contract with Defender Protect Your Home I was not aware this had occurred however we have used ADT for many years at another location and have had excellent service When I was made aware of this buy out I was fine with it until I found out just recently (in the past week) that ADT's contracts are for three (3) years not one(1) year My contract with Defender was for a rental home that was for sale I agreed to a one (1) year contract with Defender, NOT three years
The rental home where Defender Protect Your Home was servicing, has been sold The phone lines are disconnected and the power will be turned off as of January 9th, Defender and ADT cannot find my contract and ADT is insisting that I am locked in for a total of three (3) years from the date I signed the original contract
This is not right, nor is it legal I have not made any type of agreement with ADT for that homePlease help me I am overburdene

I live in a senior building I went into hospital on april fifth some one broke into my apartment and stole a small antque pocket knife and two bottles of blood pressure pills , on may twenty fifth they broke in while I was out walking my dog and took a rain hat I set on my counter at door then late may early came in am let my toilet set up like a man had been using my toilet I have been having problems with the man up stairs who has been here for about thirteen years we want to believe he has a skeleton key I reported this to management and called police police said there is nothing that can be done the security cameras on the floor do not work and management knows this also this is why I wanted to get security when I first spoke with a.d.tthis is what I ask for they said my credit would not get I so I got a co- signer they still was not trying to here what I was sayingthen they had this fast talking installer to come to my house and sale me all this equipment I am a manic depr

This letter is in response to the complaint #*** filed by *** ** *** By way of background, Defender Security Company DBA Protect Your Home is an Indiana corporation that specializes in selling residential alarm systemsWe have been an ADT authorized dealer since that sells and installs ADT monitored security systemsOnce the security system is installed, the contract is then purchased, billed, serviced and maintained by ADT
We have researched into Ms***’s complaint and located her account. Our records show we did install an alarm system for her on August 4, 2014. Her cancellation request was received and processed on August 6, 2014. Her system was removed on August 8, and refunds have been released. The install cost of $was refunded back to her credit card on August 11, 2014. The equipment costs of $was refunded back to her credit card on September 2, 2104.
We apologize for any inconvenience or frustration that the customer may have experienced and we appreciate the opportunity to address her concerns

Pulled a bait and switch w/ contractService was cancelled, however they continue to bill and harass meI have a letter from them showing cancelled
I ordered a security service that was dollars down and included sensors and other devices and was per monthI began asking to see my contract and they admitted they couldn't find itThey sent me another contract via email and told me to push the button to accept the new contractI scrolled down the contract and found they were now immediately charging up front for all the included sensors and devices in an attempt to bait and switch the contractI refused to sign and they admitted there was no contract and that they would close my account and return all my moneyI have a letter dated 8-3-16, Ref Act # ***, Ref #*** from Defenders, Incdba Protect Your Home state the account was cancelledI have been dealing with their supervisor *** ***s who sent the letter and told me all of my money would be returned si

I went on line to get information about ADT Security SystemThey gave me information about the system over the phone and made it sound greatI paid the money for them to come install it and when the guy got here, he drilled a whole in the wall and put in the monitor and then proceeded to tell me I had to pay over dollars for other equipment that was suppose to be free equipment for the serviceI ended up taking the basic equipment and was only suppose to have a dollar charge a monthIt ended up to beplus tax to have it protected which they never told me on the phoneHe said my first prorated month plus the second month was payable up front and it would be When I went to my bank on line they had charged dollarsI have a three day cancellation period so I called and told them to put the back into my account and come take it all outI got lied to about a do;;at Visa card that I was suppose to get back among a lot of other liesOur ho

My home was burglarized in April 2017, and I called to ADT to obtain services and I asked if they did their own monitoring and I was told by the sales agent that they didI advised to him I had heard that they did not and have a lot of complaints about this and people credit has been marked with a collection from their outside vendorThe sale agent assured me that they do their own monitoring through ADTSo scheduled the appointment for installation and also asked the technician as well, and he advised the sameSo had him to install the system as he assured me the monitoring was again through ADTI called on 04/21/and was told that, Defenders, Incdba Protect Your Home was the monitoring company so I told them to cancel my ADT services and I did not want the system or servicesThe agent told me the fax number to fax cancellation form to #866-975-I faxed it on 04/23/as the cancellation form states no later than 04/24/I called and had a security storm door in

My Good experience! Steve was a nice guy and took his time to make sure everything was done right and that we knew how to operate the equipment

On the day of the installation I was told by the technician that he didn’t have any outdoor cameras with him to install because they where on back orderTherefore I would have to wait a few months to receive themSo I went along with the installation thinking I would recieve our door cameras in a few monthsA few months went by and I called to have a technician come out and install my outdoor cameras that I thought where orderedWhen the tech came out he claimed that Defender doesn’t have out door cameras so I would be unable to have them install at that timeHe told me I could purchase indoor cameras from him then when defender took over my contract I could trade them in for out door camerasSo I believed him a purchased the indoor camerasSo I wanted a few more months then called ADT and told them about my last purchase and they told me they couldn’t trade in my indoor cameras for outdoor cameras Then sent me over to defender for them also to explain they can not trade in my c

Wish I could give negative reviewThe tech who came onSept1st one of our porcelain figurine (angel) andtold us the he would submit the picture to his company and they would compensate We called and they said that we have to the pictures, we sent several pictures We called again to check the status they said they don’t have the pictures and they are going to send their own tech to take the picturesAfter couple of days their own employee came and took the picture We waited nothing happened, we called again, they still say no picturesWe explained the figurines were bought in Colorado and we moved to Massachusetts so we do not have the receipt and asked them to replace the figurine if they fon’t Want to pay what we paid for the angelNow every time we call they hung up on us Nothing has been doneVERY VERY BAD COMING ANY Wish ADT will not get authorized dealers like this to spoil their reputation

I had initially contacted ADT around the 17th of November to get some information on rates and products Spoke with a few people and was given a quote that was reasonable Set up the appointment to have the tech come by and assess what would be needed and decide whether or not it was what I wanted I was told that would be charged if I agreed to keep the service once the tech came by Not minutes later once we ended the call, I checked my account and the money was already debited from my account I called and requested to speak with a supervisorwent thru many people and finally spoke with a supervisor who stated that he was apologetic about what happened and that he was giving us extra stuff for our troubles The tech came and set up the service on Wed of November He informed me that I had until Tuesday to cancel the service if I decided not to keep it I get notification that the bill is ready and with an added month I call on Monday 11/and spoke with Brit
