comments. As you requested, we have
again reviewed this matter to see if we overlooked anything that might support
a more favorable conclusion.
According to the consumer, the pop-up he/she viewed
on our Published Price website indicated free cancelation. Therefore, when the consumer
chose to select a Name Your Own Price reservation, he/she assumed that Name
Your Own Price reservations also offered free cancelation. According to the consumer,
the non-refundable terms and conditions of the Name Your Own Price purchase
were not disclosed prior to purchase, and therefore, the consumer requests a
refund.
The consumer states:
“I am rejecting this response because: When I
clicked on the category of car I wanted and the pop up said free cancellation,
it did not stipulate any conditions or have an asterisk to alert you of
conditions. There was nothing that said anything about cancellable or
non-cancellable options.”
We reviewed the consumer’s session on our website and confirmed
that the consumer first selected and viewed Published Price reservations. The consumer
then selected information on a Published Price rental car option, and a pop-up was
presented with the information relating to the selected Published Price rental
car. After viewing Published Price
options, the consumer then chose to select a Name Your Own Price reservation
for greater savings. Once the consumer selected a Name Your Own Price reservation
and entered his/her offer price of $34 per day, he/she viewed the contract page
disclosing the terms and conditions of the selected Name Your Own Price
reservation.
On the
consumers’ contract page, we clearly and conspicuously place the following
disclosure regarding the cancel policy associated with the consumer’s contract
page labeled under Important Information.

rental cars issued through priceline.com:
Rental cars are
non-refundable, non-transferable and non-changeable even if the
reservation is not used.

I just received a call from [redacted] from the Phillipines who tells me that it is a nonstop flight on her computer too. I told her the flight is a layover not a nonstop and that it does not take 11 plus hours to go from PA to CA, but she did not believe me. She insisted it is a nonstop...
flight. I tried to explain to her nonstop means NOT STOPPING but she did not believe me. I assured her she was courteous and polite and recommended she not be involved in cheating consumers in this way. I believe this to be unethical and possibly illegal business practice. She is the third personnel to read "nonstop" on their screen and insist that I am wrong about my flight time expectations!!! So far, all were based out of the country and did not understand what was going on... they just read from statements and wasted my time!

I would like Priceline to change
its policy of using customers' e-mail addresses to send junk e-mails against
customers' will.

I would like Priceline not to
add customers' e-mail addresses to Priceline's e-mail list when a customer
explicitly opts out.

I would like all Priceline
e-mails to contain unsubscribe links.

I would like Priceline customers
to be able to manage their e-mail preferences without being forced to set up a
Priceline account.

I would like Priceline to be
fined and/or censured for explicit, deliberate lying and customer deception
aimed at increasing Priceline's profits to the detriment of customer privacy
and customer rights.
Unless
a Priceline customer tells us that he/she does not want to receive email
offers, Priceline will occasionally send promotion coupons, marketing material
or other special travel deals.
Both
registered, and unregistered customers, (including customers who have not set
up a Priceline account), have the option to click the unsubscribe link in the promotional
email.
Please
note that the unsubscribe link is located in every promotional email about
news/special offers/travel deals. Unregistered Priceline customers (as well as
registered customers), have the option to unsubscribe without setting up a profile/account.
Important
to note, is that unsubscribing from receiving messages about news and special
offers will not prevent the consumer from receiving emails about previous requests
or reservations placed on our website. Therefore, emails with information
referencing requests or reservations placed by the consumer will not offer the
unsubscribe link.
In

I was out of town undergoing a very painful diagnostic procedure at the time this message came through an am just reading it this morning.
I request that the case be re-opened.
Should the Revdex.com need documentation that I was in fact out of town and under the care of a orthopedic spinal surgeon, let me know and I will provide documentation. The explanation by Priceline is correct but leaves out the fact that the customer can select zones on a map that become highlighted and automatically check a box in the corresponding list to the left. I was clicking on the map, not the list. The Priceline representative I last spoke with ADMITTED TO ME ON THE PHONE THAT I HAD CLICKED ONLY ON “[redacted]” AND NOTHING ELSE. They admitted they were in the wrong and still seem to think that I am somehow responsible for their computer systems booking error. My family just emerged from both a foreclosure and chapter 7 and cannot afford to pay for the mistake of a giant corporate entity like Priceline. I am in the process of setting up a video shot that will show me going through the exact same steps I made when attempted to book in the [redacted] area. Just short of placing the bid of course.

I am rejecting this response because:
Priceline was misleading in selling me 5 tickets on [redacted] Airlines without clear notice that these tickets were "basic economy" and did NOT provide seat assignments in advance of the flight.
The inability to get seat assignments was NOT communicated to me.
Priceline's response indicates that not getting seat assignments is common practice among airlines.
This is not true, particularly not true for [redacted] Airlines.
I have NEVER purchased tickets from Priceline or from [redacted] that did not allow seating in advance of the departure date.
Priceline did not communicate these tickets were not able to have seat assignments.
This is in sharp contrast with [redacted] Airlines, which I discovered on its website did communicate clearly that these seats are "basic economy" and don't include seat assignments.
Priceline should recognize in this situation, it did mislead me and did not communicate as should have been practice that these tickets did not allow seat assignment.
To address this complaint, Priceline should cover the costs for me to purchase advanced seat assignments for this flight. [redacted] offers an upgrade for $49 per seat.
In this situation, it is critically important for me to have seat assignments in advanced, as our family is flying with two minor children, who need to be seated next to a parent.

I went to a rental car site but it actually was Priceline (I always deal directly with airlines, hotels and rental car companies). I did not catch my mistake and made my reservation through them. Soon discovered what I did but thought no problems, at least I had my rental reserved. When I went to pick up the car it was not what I wanted. I spoke to the rental agent and was informed that I could rent the vehicle directly from them for $1,071. I tried calling Priceline to let them know what I was doing but was unable to get through to them. So I decided to get the vehicle I wanted for the above price. Meanwhile Priceline had already billed me $1,700 and I have been trying to contact them to see if I can secure some kind of refund. They have contacted me and basically said there is nothing they can do. It looks like they are going to make me eat my $1,700 mistake.

I am rejecting this response because:
1. You falsely advertised full coverage insurance to me, and it did not cover enough for me to drive legally in my state.
2. The reps that I had talked to on the phone in your company, agreed that I had full coverage and was legally able to drive
3. It took me finding out that I was not covered to get a solid response from your company, who then told me they were unable to do anything because the reservation had already started.
I feel that I am being reasonable. Bare minimum, you should return the insurance charge that you falsely advertised to me.
