From Pier 1 Imports:Customer [redacted]We have reached out to the customer and resolved the concern to their satisfaction. Sincerely,[redacted]
When shopping @ Pier 1 several weeks ago as I was checking out the sales clerk asked me if was "interested in a rewards card". I said no,the clerk went on to explain it was like a "[redacted] card or [redacted] wellness card. you earn points when you shop." Being a Pier 1 shopper I finally agreed. When putting my information the clerk asked me for my social security number , to which I replied " thats a little intense for a rewards card" , and she responsed " it is just to ensure no one else is using your points". To which I responded " Is this a credit card ? I do not want a credit card." And she once again assured me this was a points reward card and not a credit card. Reluctantly, I gave her my SS # not trusting my first instinct. A few weeks after my purchase a card arrived in the mail @ my parents address, that I have not lived @ in years. When I called the number on the card ( because it looked like a credit card), it to my suprise was in fact a credit card. The bank was made aware this was an unauthorized transaction and the account was immediately closed. I did not fill out paper work requesting a credit card and I am extremley irritated over the entire situation. I will not be returning to a Pier 1 Imports store in the future. I was lied to and did not give authorization to run my credit or apply for a line of credit with Pier 1 Imports. I will not do business with a company who conducts themselves in such a manner.Desired SettlementAs to why any employee would ever do this. What are the training methods ? This needs to be clearly explained to the customer and obliviously the staff at Pier 1. How will this be prevented from occuring in the future?
