Parker and Sons Reviews (1209)

I've been a Parker & Sons customer for years. I always get prompt and excellant service. I highly recommend for air conditioning and plumbing repairs!

They are easy to work with and were on time, friendly, and professional.

Brett R. was excellent. He is very knowledgeable, and very professional. He answered all my many questions and this helped me choose the right AC system for my house. I highly recommend Brett.

Bert M. was the best tech I had from them

Right as the recent cold-snap was rolling in, we had a faucet leaking with a steady drip. I called Parker and Son's and was assured a technician would get to us that day. [redacted] arrived, surveyed the situation, discussed fee, and completed the job in a short time. He listened and offered input without prejudice. We will make Parker and Son's are first call for any future plumbing issues.

Doing business with Parker and Son's is always a good experience. Recently one of our air conditioning units quit working. We called Parker and Sons at 7:30 am and they had a technician at our house by 9:00am who diagnosed the problem and had the unit up and running very quickly. Our unit was still under warranty so we only had to pay the deductable.

We've been doing business with Parker and Son's for many years and have always been a satisfied customer. They are dependable and trustworthy!

We had a great experience with Parker & Sons. [redacted] who came to repair our unit gave us several options, so instead of repairing our HVAC that seem doomed to fail again in the future, we decided to replace it. They kept the unit going until it could be replaced. Charlie Coates sat with us giving us options for the new unit and once we made the decision, it was replaced the following day. They kept us comfortable and their knowledge and service were exceptional. I would recommend Parker & Sons to anyone needing service. We have also used them for some plumbing repairs and a new water softener, and they were great with that too.

Review: I have used Parker for several years for AC maintenance. It seems that within a couple of years after I got a maintenance agreement and became a "preferred" customer, service started going downhill. It was almost like they knew they "had me", so they could slack off. For example, the last two times I called for service in December 2012 and this past Saturday, June 15, 2013, I had to wait many hours for service, even though I was a preferred customer. In the past, I was told that a technician would be to me as soon as they completed work for the current customer. When I questioned the long wait, I was told both times that they have lots of preferred customers and I had to wait my turn. Friday night, I called at 11 PM to get in the queue for Saturday and no one arrived until about 5 PM Saturday. The time before I called early in the morning and waited all day for service. My second complaint is with what happened to me during the last week. A technician came Monday June 10th to do a routine maintenance visit. He would not go in the attic - said it was blocked, when it clearly was not. The items in the area were in the same place they have been for the last couple of years - my impression was that he just did not want to do it. So, I did not get the complete service I paid for as a result of my maintenance agreement. Then, I called someone out for a problem on June 15th - and waited all day. When he showed, up, he said my compressor was failing and could be replaced for $900, but he suggested a new AC, since my unit was 11 years old. He said a new unit would cost $6-7,000. I questioned this, since the compressor was replaced about four years ago and I had, what Parker and other have told me, is a top-of-the-line unit. So, I told him I was not doing anything that day. I asked for references from friends and called out another company who was recommended no less that six times. He said the compressor tested very strong and even showed me the gauge on his tester. He checked out the unit and said all I needed was a fan motor, which he replaced right then. I also have done some research to become convinced that I was sold a start assist kit for no reason. These kits are necessary when the breaker is tripped and this has never occurred in the 11 years I have lived in the house. The "new company" also said I had an excellent unit that should last 15-20 years. I feel Parker was either deceptive in trying to sell me something I did not need or have such inexperienced technicians that they don't know how to accurately diagnosis a problem. Could they be receiving a commission for "selling" a new unit? I don't know, but it is suspicious, since such a small fix was all that was needed. Between this experience and the fact that I cannot receive quick service when I need it has convinced me this is not a company that can be trusted and they are not deserving of our confidence.Desired Settlement: I have paid Parker about $3,000 over the past year for repairs. Now that I realize they tried to sell me a new unit I do not need, were dishonest about the need to replace the compressor and installed a start assist kit that appears was not necessary, I am doubting every repair they have made. I feel they owe me a refund of the maintenance contract for this past year, since I did not get full service this time and certainly will not be using them again. I would like a refund of the repair I had done on June 10 as well as the cost of the start assist kit and related labor, since I have no confidence this was needed either. Finally, I would like at least half of the money I have paid for all other repairs since June 1, 2012 refunded, since I have no reason to feel those repairs were necessary.

To Whom it Concerns:

I spoke with Ms. Nancy Brown this afternoon in response to the complaint she filed ([redacted]). We agreed that the following will satisfactorily resolve the complaint in full:

1. Parker and Sons will send a technician to her home to conduct a complementary, complete inspection. The technician will convey the findings, providing her with a complete list of any items found in need of repair/replacement. The technician will prioritize the findings as high, moderate, or low importance relative to urgency to act on the findings.

2. Ms. Brown agreed to accept a reimbursement in the amount of $1,100.00 in good faith to resolve the complaint.

I am sending my response in this email as I am unable to respond through the website at this time. Please respond to this email so that I will know that my response to the complaint was received by your office.

Sincerely,

Vice President HVAC Service

Review: parker and sons came to my home to repair the a/c I asked at that time what would it cost to replace the a/c unit on my home due to the fact that it is over 10 years old, this was last year around the month of april, as of today I have not received a estimate to replace the a/c in the home, I do not want to continue to pay for the maintenance agreement on this old a/c unit, the problem is that I continue to get phone calls from parker and sons as a reminder that they want to do the check-up and maintenance on the old a/c unit, and I get phone calls asking for my new credit card number so they can receive payment for the maintenance agreement as of last week I refuse to give my new account # to parker and sons, I have asked 2 times in this year to give me a estimate to replace the a/c unit but I have not received a phone call to schedule a appointment, but parker and sons wants my credit card information.

question # 1 please explain why parker and sons will not estimate to replace the a/c on my home?

question # 2 please explain why parker and sons call me for my credit card information but will not relay the information to the proper department that will give me a estimate on replacing the a/c unit?

question # 3 is the maintenance agreement a scam? does parker and sons make more money repairing the old a/c units rather than installing a new unit when someone askes for a estimate?Desired Settlement: please answer my questions and if parker and sons can not answer or does not want to answer please do not contact me again

a phone call with the estimate please

Response:

I apologize for the delay in response back to the Revdex.com. I’m not quite sure why no one responded directly to the Revdex.com.

Per our discussion with Mr. [redacted], he has instructed us to NEVER call him again and if we did he would immediately call the Police.

To appease Mr. [redacted], we refunded him $113.25. Unfortunately, Mr. [redacted] sent our refund check back to us as he didn’t ask for a refund.

At this point we are still unclear as to what it is Mr. [redacted] would like from Parker and Sons. We have placed Mr. [redacted] on our Do Not Call / Service list.

Thank You.

Steve S. was on time, polite, clean, knew his business and explained everything to me in language I could understand.
I have had Parker and Sons for many years and have always been pleased with their service.

My experience with the Parker and Sons technician was very positive. I have had Parker and Sons technicians checking my a/c several times, and they have all been very efficient, friendly, and professional.

The service guy Matt arrived early and was able to fix the plumbing issue in my mom's house. He did a great job and was totally professional. I definitely would recommend Parker and Sons!

Brendan B[redacted] was here today to maintain my heating and cooling system. He was polite and professional and did a good job in a reasonable amount of time. Parker and Sons has become my "go-to" company for just about everything!

I have been working with Parker & Sons for about 5-6 years now. They installed my new air conditioner and have performed a few plumbing jobs for me as well. I have had the pleasure of working with Ben (plumber) on 2 occasions, and he has been extremely professional, friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend this company for any of your needs.

[redacted].

My first experience with Parker and Sons was very disappointing. [redacted] came out just a few hours after calling, inspected the unit in attic and outside, claimed the coils upstairs were clean (later found they were not), and question whether any other parts fully inspected. In the end, he suggested I replace a capacitor upstairs costing $266 and one outside on the ac unit costing $233. Since I am very familiar with parts costs, this estimate was so out line that I was at a loss for words. When he saw I wasn't going to go ahead with the repairs, he said he would give me a 10% discount, then offered a 20% discount which I didn't take and said I would call if going ahead with his repair estimate. I decided to research online about the changing of these capacitors, ordered them (all 3 cost $49) and easily replaced them. If the estimate had been anywhere near reasonable, I would have had Parker do it, but of course it wasn't so know I won't be calling Parker again. I realize a business should make a profit and appreciate when they and their customers both benefit from it. If this incident should not have happened and in sending this report it will improve services and create honest business, then it has achieved its purpose. Thank you...

Great company to deal with, very courteous, attentive and on time team gets the job done. I would suggest Parker and Sons for heating and cooling installation and service.

Parker and Son have always provided timely and expert service. They have fair prices and we would recommend them to any one in need of their services.

Parker and Sons is a company you can rely on for excellent quality, expertise and customer service. I have been with them since 1990 to take care of my Air Conditioning, Hot Water Heater, Soft Water Conditioning, Osmosis System and Plumbing. On 1/22/2016, I called for service due to my Air Conditioner not heating. Called them at 8am, they were at my house within 2 hours, then fixed. It is worth being part of the Parker and Sons Family, as they do take care of their customers like family and always do the best possible what ever my circumstance is.

[redacted] was polite and able. He explained what he was installing and did a fine job.

I was so upset - my A/C just quit working around 6:30 on a Thurs evening - I called Parker and Sons not knowing when to expect help or what I was going to do without air in August in Phoenix, could not believe when they said someone would be over within the hour - [redacted] showed up in 20-30 minutes and quickly found what was wrong, he needed to blow out the drain, he did this and had my air up and running in under 2 hours - my last major experience with Parker and Sons was about 3 years ago when my air went out on Saturday of a Labor Day weekend - they were the only company to respond to my frantic calls that morning, ended up having a new unit installed, they worked all weekend - my new unit was working by the time I got return calls from 2 other companies that I had called - thank you Parker and Sons, you have my business for any of your services!!!
