My husband and I have been renting a home from another property management company for the past yearsThe previous owner sold the home in September We paid our rent own time thru the drop box 9/5/because we were not provided a user name to setup onlineMy husband was layed off at the end of SeptmeberHe called them at the beginning of October to inform MSR that we would be lateShe said ok and that she understood it would be lateMy husband found a new job at the end of OctoberWe called them to advise the payment would be late again but would be on time for DecemberWe also called(10/21/to see when would they be sending the renewal papers because our leased ends 11/30/We receive a letter dated 11/21/that MSR would not be renewing our lease that ends 11/30/The letter stated we would have to move out by 12/31/I called the Nashville Branch Manager to see if there was a way for us to stay (we have been living in the home for years)She advised from corporate we would have to moveI then ask could we at least get an additional month due to the holidaysShe said we could notWe found a place to moveWe receive a letter 12/6/stating we owe $1800for the December rentI called to see how our rent went from$to $1800in one month.I was advised because we are now on a month to month leaseI could not believe they decided not to renew our lease on 11/19/that ended 11/30/I I spoke to Cecile that advised anytime you are out of your lease it automatically goes to a month to month.I asked could she escalate this to corporate because when your lease is not renewed as long as you vacate on that date your rent would not be considered a month to month I explained then we should of be informed of the lease not being renewed 10/31/not a week beforeCecile at first advised we could setup on a month payment arrangement starting in Dec,She then calls back the next day to explain that we could not do the payment arrangement because we are moving and they would not have collateralI called back to see if I could receive a letter stating that we were in collections for for Dec, so I could borrow from my 401kShe sent a generic letter She stated it now shows on the eviction listShe said she did not understand since we would be moving in two weeksShe said she would follow up with me on before the end of business 12/19/I never received a call backI called back on 12/to be advised Cecil will not be back to the office until 1/5/I ask to speak to the branch manager PaulHe advised that we are showing listed on the eviction list because we have not moved out yetHe stated after we vacate the property it automatically removes us from the eviction list With moving out by 12/31/We never received a eviction letter in the mailHe said that with it being the holidays it would be a delayI ask him for the Attorney name and numberI called the attorney two times a day until 1/5/15.No return call from the attorney's office I called Paul to see when we could do a walk thru and if he received a eviction letter from the attorneyHe advised no and probably because of the holidaysI told him that I need to get the letter so I can receive the payment from my kHe advised he would just leave a lockbox for us to leave the key inI called to give our forwarding address to receive or give a explanation for the depositI have called numerous times to see where do I need to send paymentI am keep being told that there Customer Service Manager would have to call me back. They no longer have our accountI asked if I could have a direct number to callI was advised they could not provide the numberI am calling them for their collection deptor the Customer Service Manager to get this taken care ofThis company does not return callsAll we want is to get a breakdown of charges and to setup payment arrangements that we were advised we could do after we moved out with their collection dept

I am rejecting this response because: For the record: My notice to vacate letter sent to and received by Main Street Renewal included my forwarding address as I had expected to have my security deposit refunded to me via mailObviously they did not take the time to read the letter and note this information. The issue here has to do with Main Street Renewal and their collection agency, National Recovery Agency and their violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices ActEven though I dispute the validity of the $they claim is owed to them by meI have decided to pay this amount to them in order to get this one collection item off my credit report that has marred my near perfect credit ratingInstead of accepting my offer to pay the alleged debt in lieu of having the collection item which was illegally reported to the credit repositories removedMain Street Renewal has instead refused to send me a very basic letter or email stating in effect that once they accept my money they will have their collection agency delete the item from my credit reportNot "removed from collection" as stated, but deletedOf course the alleged debt will be removed from collection once I send them a check there will be no further need for them to make contact with meBut, that does not mean the item will be deleted from my credit report which is the objective.I have recently filed a complaint with the Texas Attorney General Consumer Protection Division and is awaiting their responseIf they are unable to assist me, I will then file a lawsuit again Main Street Renewal and will use the own email against them as they have in fact acknowledged there was a miscommunication on their partThe fact that they do not want to correct their own error really say a lot about the type of organization they operateMain Street Renewal has absolutely no regard for their own customers. If they had sent me an invoice to the address in my notice to vacate letter to them I would have paid it and the collection agency would have never been involvedInstead here I am dealing with an issue that was created by Main Street Renewal that they have refused to correct

We are a military family and have been renting with MSR since After the 1st month the problems started; maintenance request being deleted from system without being completed, delayed request, minimum and often representative work being done to cut costs
Many of the regional personnel are dishonest and made agreements that were never followed through onThere have been error on every lease we have signed which required resigningWe are now requesting copies of every lease for an military BAH verification and they refuse to fulfill the request, which has been asked nearly 5+ times via emails, call, and secure message portal
They have also made racial comments about the area we moved in, because it is predominately African AmericanHowever 80% of the occupants in my subdivision are middle-aged or retired homeowners
So why do we stayMy husband is deployed and I'm a graduate student working part-timeI take care of our children ( age and 5) aloneWe have few maintenance request so its bearableits also nice to live in home for a few years at a timeAnd, YES, we have paid a rent increase each time even though we did not sign a document stating this in our lease
I see they are in many southeastern states which is where we tend to be stationed, so it would have been quite beneficial for them to have develop a better relationship with us, as we are military and will continue to rent homes for a while

I am rejecting this response because:
They called me today and pretty much said that they weren't
going to do anything to resolve it They said that the lease kinda said that but I couldn't find it mentioned anywhere I read and re read but it didn't say that they would charge you for a full month even if your lease ended I just want refunded what shouldn't have been taken in the first place

Escalated the maintenance concerns of the resident to our national maintenanceVendor confirmed repairs completed 1/6/and that they were reaching out to the resident for return service as neededWe are addressing the issues accordingly
Do not rent from Mainstreet RenewalTheir objective is to get you into a lease and then do the absolute least to assist you once you are inOur agent from Melbourne Florida, Ronald G***, made sure we were happy when we signed on the dotted line, then could not be reached the very first night when we found out we had two doors that would not shut all the way or lockI don't know about you, but the safety of my family is my top priorityIt wool Mainstreet days and two phone calls to get someone to come look at the doorsTheir solution was to fix our front door and give us a rod to put in the sliding glass door without ever fixing the lockThis is a perfect example of how Mainstreet deals with the problems in their housesAnother illustration, when we moved in we noticed the water pressure was very weakWe eventually got a plumber to come look at it and he told us that the water pump was in very bad shape and needed to be replacedWe had the same water pressure issue pop up times over the next two months and everytime the plumbers were instructed by Mainstreet to put a bandaid on the problemThe plumbers still told us the pump would need to be replacedMainstreet waited until the pump was completely dead and we were without running water (no flushing toilets, no washing clothes or dishes, no brushing teeth, no showers) for daysEven then, they refused to take responsibility for waiting so long to fix this and refused our requests to be given a hotel room or discounted rent for the problem that they knew about and refused to fixThis is my family's experience with the Melbourne branch of MainstreetWe are unhappy with the company and would never rent from them again
