Macy's Reviews (3004)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 1[redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.   I had changed the payment option in the Macy's account to reflect the new account(Wells Fargo) in the month of June. However, Macy's still kept charging the old bank ([redacted])account. Even when I deleted the old account information Macy's still went to HSBC to collect payment. HSBC has charged me 70$ as a penalty fee. The  Macy's customer serve returned just 35$ . I would like to get back the other 35$ too.
Regards,

Dear [redacted]: We have received multiple rebuttals from [redacted] ID [redacted] regarding suits he purchased and felt the quality was not as expected. [redacted] has multiple orders where he received significant discounts, on other suits, as an accommodation. At that time we closed the complaint. He submitted another complaint for the same issue. We provided the customer a $150 gift card to go towards the purchase of another suit and still [redacted] wants additional accommodation. Based on this, we will no longer contact [redacted] regarding this issue and consider complaint [redacted] closed. Sincerely,Michele S.Macy's Executive Office###-###-####

Executive Office.  As a liaison in this office, I was asked to review and respond to your concerns.  We are anxious to review your concerns regarding a ring you saw in a Macy’s advertisement; however, based on the limited information you provided, we are unable to determine what ring or what advertisement you may be referencing.  Upon receipt of your complaint, I forwarded your concerns to Macy’s [redacted] in hopes someone at the store might be familiar with the ring you mention; however, the store advised they, too, were unfamiliar with this specific item.  There was a similar advertisement in our January One Day Sale book, for a Deal of the Day ring for $49.99; however, the ad clearly stated the ring was “…18k rose or yellow gold over sterling silver”. We would like to research this further, but in order to do so; we ask that you provide additional details about the ring and specific advertisement.  If I can be of further assistance, please contact me at your convenience at the telephone number listed below. I would be happy to speak with you. Sincerely,     Stephen C.Macy’s Executive Office###-###-#### Extension [redacted] cc:  [redacted], Revdex.com

Re:  Revdex.com ID #[redacted]
        Macy's account ending in...

Dear
[redacted]:
I am
in receipt of your complaint forwarded to us by the RevDex.com.  As a representative of Macy's
Executive Office, I was asked to review and respond to your concerns on behalf
of Department Stores National Bank.
According
to the Department Stores National Bank Credit Card Agreement, a late fee is
added for each billing cycle you fail to pay the Minimum Payment Due by the
payment due date.  The fee will be
$27.00; or $38.00 for any additional past due payment during the next six
billing cycles after a past due payment occurred.  Interest is charged each month the account
carries a balance.  The minimum interest
charge is $2.00.
Your
billing statement for the period ending September 23, 2015, had a $30.74 (your
new purchase) balance with a $27.00 minimum payment due by October 20,
2015.  When no payment was received by
this due date, your account was charged the applicable late fee in accordance
with the terms of the Credit Card Agreement.
The billing statement for the period ending October 23, 2015, had a
$59.74 balance with a $57.00 minimum payment (including a $27.00 past due
amount) due by November 20, 2015.  When
we did not receive a payment by November 20, 2015, your account was charged
additional fees bringing your account to a $99.74 balance with a $98.00 minimum
payment due by December 20, 2015.  We
received a $99.74 payment on November 25, 2015, and on January 4, 2016, we
removed a $2.00 interest charge, leaving your account with a zero ($0.00)
balance.
With
respect to your claim of non-receipt of billing statements, I found that on
January 10, 2015, you registered your Macy's account on macys.com to receive
electronic billing notices only [email protected] and stop paper
statements.  My research confirmed that
while you received prior email notices, we did not send email alerts for the
September 2015, October 2015, and December 2015 billing statements.  Our records show we successfully sent
notifications for November 2015 and January 2016 statements.  For reference, I am enclosing copies of
billing statements for the time period September 2015 through January 2016.
Because
you did not receive any statements for September 2015 and October 2015, I
removed a total of $69.00 in accumulated fees, which left your account with a
$69.00 credit balance.  I took the
liberty of sending you a refund check for this amount (under separate cover),
which you should receive within 7-10 business days.  Additionally, we requested [redacted]
and [redacted] remove the 30-days past due reported in November 2015 from your
credit report.  Kindly permit seven 7-10
days to make the necessary corrections.
Until then, this letter will serve as confirmation of this request.
[redacted], please accept my personal apology for the problems you have
encountered trying to resolve this issue and thank you for bringing this matter
to our attention.  I regret that you
closed your account on November 25, 2015.
Kindly know that we have policies in place in order to comply with all
federal and state laws in our credit practices.
If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to contact me at the
telephone number listed below.
Sincerely,
Regina M.

Enclosures mailed January 29, 2016

I am also asking why I have not been able to use my Macy's charge cards in almost one year. I have spoken to several women in the Cincinnati Office. To no avail have they been receptive. I have paid my bills and have had several issues which took quite awhile to be revolved. I written to Mr Terry L. several times and wrote to the Billing Manager of Credit today. I have been a customer since 2007. I have just received letters that state "we are researching this", without any time frame for an a answerThis is getting out of control and I must say, that I have made several calls including [redacted] without any response.

This customer , [redacted],  says she has not received her letter and the enclosures.  Please let her know, we mailed it April 5th, this is stated on the bottom of the letter that we send to Revdex.com. ‘enclosures / Mailed April 5, 2017’. it has been 3 business days.   mail delivery will take 7-10 business day.  Hope this helps.  Thank You

Dear [redacted],We are in receipt of Revdex.com complaint number [redacted]. I was able to process 2 sets of the dinnerware as an accommodation to replace the ones that cancelled/were discontinued. I advised that I processed the order today and to allow time for it to arrive. It appears that the order is scheduled for delivery on 1/17/2018. Based on this information we are considering this matter resolved and closed. April 13, 2018[redacted]RE: Revdex.com Complaint ID: [redacted]Bloomingdale's Account Ending in [redacted]Dear [redacted]:I am in receipt of a complaint forwarded to Bloomingdale's Executive Office by the Revdex.com (Revdex.com). As a...

liaison in the Executive Office, I have been asked to review and respond to your concerns on behalf of Department Stores National Bank (DSNB). Please accept my sincere apology for the difficulty you experienced when speaking with Bloomingdale's Customer Service Department and attempting to make a payment by check in August 2016. As a company that prides itself on providing excellent customer service, it is always disappointing when a customer is not fully satisfied with the level of service provided. In reviewing your concerns, I pulled your billing statements from June 2016, through November 2016. For your convenience, I have enclosed the above mentioned billing statements in this mailing. Your June 2016 billing statement shows that a $39.74 purchase was made on May 27, 2016. This purchase resulted in a balance of $39.74, with a minimum payment of $27.00, due by July 24, 2016. When no payment was received by the due date, a late fee of $27.00 and a $2.00 interest fee were charged, resulting in a balance of $68.74, with a minimum payment of $57.00, due by August 24, 2016.Our records show that you called Bloomingdale's Customer Service Department on August 22, 2016. Although we were unable to review the phone call, we were able to verify from the account notes and subsequent phone calls on your account, that you attempted to make a payment on August 22, 2016. However, the associate assisting you incorrectly input your checking information, causing the payment not to be processed and causing you to incur additional fees and interest through October 2016. The late fees, returned check fee, and interest from June 2016 through October 2016 were credited, and as reflected on your November 2016, billing statement, we received payment for $39.74 on November 21, 2016, which brought your account current. In your complaint, you indicated that you verified that the payment was processed when you made your payment by phone in August 2016. For clarification, when making a payment by phone via your checking account, we can only verify that the payment has been processed by our back office at the time you make your payment; however, it can take up to five business days for the payment to actually clear your bank. Please accept my apology for any confusion with regard to this matter.I understand your desire to clear your credit bureau reports of all derogatory information. Our internal documents have therefore been cleared of the delinquency due to the associate error in August 2016.Moreover, we have requested that [redacted], [redacted] and [redacted] delete the delinquency for August 2016, through October 2016. Kindly permit the agencies approximately thirty (30) days to make the necessary corrections to their files. Until then, this letter will serve as confirmation of this request.Thank you for your continued patience regarding this matter. If I may be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me at your convenience.Sincerely,Durand C.Bloomingdale's Executive Office###-###-#### Extension [redacted]Enclosurescc: [redacted]Revdex.com

P.O. Box 8220 Mason, OH 45040 January 23, 2018   [redacted]  [redacted]   Re:  Revdex.com Complaint ID #[redacted]         Macy’s account ending in [redacted]   Dear [redacted]:    I am in receipt of your additional comments filed with the Revdex.com and forwarded to Macy’s Executive Office.  As a liaison in this office that previously addressed your concerns, I was asked to review and respond to your most recent inquiry on behalf of Department Stores National Bank (DSNB).  Please be assured that the Bank does not participate in unethical credit practices.    As I explained in my letter dated January 18, 2018, per the DSNB Credit Card Agreement (Agreement), if you have been paying less than the Total Now Due on your account balance each month and you then decide to pay your balance in full, you will be charged interest charges on that balance from the first day of the billing cycle until the date that your payment is received.  The minimum interest charge is $2.00.  This interest charge is for the money loaned to you during that period, and will appear on the next month’s billing statement.  You can avoid being charged interest by paying your account balance in full every month by your payment due date.    Applying this billing policy to your Macy’s account, the $37.68 interest charge that appeared on your billing statement with the closing date of August 24, 2017, included interest assessed between the last statement closing date of July 24, 2017, and the date (August 23, 2017) that your $1,786.12 payment posted to your Macy’s account.  When no further payments were received, the account continued to accrue interest charges and late fees and your account was reported past due to the credit reporting agencies.   Had you paid the $37.68 interest charge by the payment due date of September 20, 2017, and not made any new purchases, you would have had a zero balance the next month and would not have been charged late fees or additional interest.  We received your payment for $145.04 on December 15, 2017.  My review of this matter found that all fees were correctly charged to your Macy’s account and delinquencies were reported properly, in accordance with the Agreement; therefore, I must decline your request to remove the delinquencies from your credit report.    [redacted], I hope this letter clarifies any issue you felt remained unresolved.  Should you have any other questions, please feel free to call me at the number below as we consider this matter closed.   Sincerely,  Rhea B. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. My complain needs escalated to someone other than Rhea Belyeu. She has simply cut and pasted her previous response without seeking the appropriate steps to resolve the complaint.  Macy's charged a credit card an account with a zero balance to financially gain late fees. I am asking that they remove derogatory remarks to all credit bureaus. This is an integrity issue and unethical business practice. I no longer wish to correspond with Ms. B.. I would like to know the next steps to escalate this claim.

Re:  [redacted] - Case
#[redacted]
Revdex.com ID [redacted]
Macy's account ending in [redacted]
Dear [redacted]...

[redacted]:
I am in receipt of your complaints filed with the
[redacted] and the Revdex.com forwarded
to Macy's Executive Office.  As a liaison
in this office, I was asked to review and respond to your concerns on behalf of
Department Stores National Bank (DSNB).  For clarification, our calls are intended as a
courtesy to remind customers of a recently missed payment, and are also an
opportunity to assist our customer with maintaining a good payment and credit
history with us.  I apologize if you felt
differently.
Our records indicate that you electronic statement
alerts were being returned to us as “undeliverable” to the email address
[redacted] starting on October 11, 2014, requiring us to send paper
statements to the billing address on file as we are required by law to send you
a monthly billing statement.  On January
6, 2015, you called to advise that you were receiving paper statements when you
signed up for electronic statements.  We
advised that the statements were being blocked by your email provider and that
you would need to have the block removed.
On January 13, 2015, we again received notification that the email
statement was undeliverable and we sent a paper statement.  We received the same notification on February
11, 2015, and sent a paper statement.  On
March 26, 2015, we advised that we were still receiving notice that email
statements were undeliverable and advised you to add alerts@opsemail to your contact
list to prevent the notices from being sent to a spam folder.  On April 11, 2015, we received notification
that the email statement was undeliverable and a paper statement was sent.
I understand you are requesting that we modify the
payment history associated with the above-referenced Macy’s account.  In researching this matter, I found that the
billing statement for the period ending February 6, 2015, had a $261.14
balance, with a $25.00 minimum payment due by March 6, 2015.  When no payment was received by this date,
your account was charged a $25.00 late fee and $4.95 interest charge in
accordance with the terms of the DSNB Credit Card Agreement.  The terms of the DSNB Credit Card Agreement
state that if the minimum monthly payment is not received, late fees are
applied to the account, and for any month the balance-in-full is not paid,
interest charges are assessed.  In using
your account, you consented to the terms of this Agreement, which includes a
promise to pay for all purchases, as well as the late fees and interest
charges.
The billing statement for the period ending March 6,
2015, had a $291.09 balance with a $75.00 minimum payment (including a $25.00
past due amount) due by April 6, 2015.  We
received your payment of $266.09 on March 31, 2015, resulting in a balance of
$29.87 (including a $4.87 interest charge) with a $25.00 minimum payment due by
May 6, 2015.  When no payment was
received by this date, your account was charged a $25.00 late fee and $2.00
interest charge resulting in a new balance of $56.87 with a $56.87 minimum
payment due by June 6, 2015.  On May 8,
2015, as a courtesy to you we removed a $25.00 late fee and $4.87 interest
charge, however your account was charged a $35.00 late fee and $2.00 interest
charge resulting in a new balance of $64.00 with a $64.00 minimum payment due
by July 6, 2015.  When no payments were
received, your account continued to be charged late fees and interest, and was
reported as thirty (30) days past due to the credit reporting agencies.
Our records show that your past due amount consisted
of late fees and interest charges and for that reason, I removed $235.00 in
late fees and $19.66 in interest charges resulting in a zero ($0.00) balance on
the account.  We have cleared our
internal records of any delinquency associated with this issue, and have
requested the credit reporting agencies update their records and delete this
account from your credit report.  Please
allow the agencies approximately seven (7) to ten (10) business days to make
the necessary corrections to update their files.  This letter will serve as confirmation of
this request.  As of the date of this
letter, the account is closed and has a zero ($0.00) balance.
[redacted], thank you for bringing this matter to
our attention and giving me the opportunity to respond.  If I may be of additional assistance, please
contact me at the number listed below.
Sincerely,
Janice
D.
