I purchased a $gift card on 10/for my friend When she tried to use it on 12/at a restaurant it was denied I asked my friend for the card back and I called customer service I was told that it was because the restaurant charged $so it wouldn't go throughThis doesn't make sense because the card was for $ I was told that I could use the card for a purchase on 12/ I attempted a purchase for $and was denied When I called cutomer service today I was told that I didn't make the purchaseI do not believe this card will ever work This is such an inconvenience and embarrassing to give a gift that doesn't work I am also concerned about the various reasons that customer service has made as to why their product won't work I am getting the impression that they give customers the runaround hoping they will give up.....I will not give up!
Great ideaI've used Giftly a couple of timesSecure transactions each timeIts a great way to purchase a gift instantly and make it something someone actually wantsI sent one to my daughter in college for a local restaurant for a special treatGreat service
Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2015/11/21) */ Per your request, the four pages have been removed from www.treatgiftcards.comThe website has not yet launched for purchases, so no gift cards have been sold I'm sorry that our website has caused you concern but please allow me to explain what's happening because I think this might simply be a misunderstanding Have you taken a look at how Treat Gift Cards work? They are quite a bit different from traditional gift cards The Treat Gift Card is a MasterCard network branded prepaid cardIt works just like any prepaid card except it can be restricted for use at one or more merchants selected by the buyer Most traditional gift card programs require you as the merchant to purchase expensive equipment and softwareWe've developed a way to create gift cards without requiring the merchant to do a thing, which is why our selection of available merchants is so large When the recipient of a Treat Gift Card comes into your business, they pay you the full amount for their purchaseYou will be paid just as if the customer made their purchase using any credit or debit cardThere's nothing special you need to do You get full price paying customers just by having your page listed with us, which is completely freeMany merchants find this free online advertising and free customer acquisition to be of great value to their business Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (2000, 7, 2015/11/23) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2015/02/15) */ Our support team responded via email to the merchant's concern on 02/15/clarifying the misunderstanding of how Giftly works In our response, we asked if he would like us to take any action such as taking down the page but we did not receive a replyWe have removed the Weatherly Country Inn from Giftly's listings and asked that Google delete it from their index A Giftly is basically a cash gift with a suggestion for where to spend itAny business can be listed and suggested Giftly recipients redeem their gifts through our website or mobile app and we send the Giftly recipient the gifted funds directlyThe referenced customer had not completed this step to receive the gifted funds from us to spend at the Weatherly Country Inn When a Giftly recipient comes into a business, they pay the full amount for their purchaseCustomers will not present anything to the merchant
In order to remove your merchant page, we will need to know the URL or the name and address of the businessIn our Merchant Support Center ( [redacted] ), there is a link to submit a support ticket as well as a form to request removal of a merchant listing (available at [redacted] _search, see attached screenshot)Or, we can always be reached at [redacted] Additionally, on this page there is a variety of information explaining how Giftly works and how the product brings new business to merchants who are listed in our directory Gifts purchased through Giftly are different from traditional gift cardsThey are cash gifts with a suggestion for spendingAny business can be listed and suggestedWe obtain all of our business listings from publicly available directories Giftly recipients redeem their gifts through our website and we send them the gifted funds directly When a Giftly recipient comes to a business, they pay the full amount for their purchase using a payment methodWe work with the customer to get them the gifted funds, so there's nothing you need to do You get full price paying customers just by having your page listed with us, which is completely freeHundreds of thousands of gift have been given through GiftlyIf you prefer not to be included in our directory, we're more than willing to remove the listing for your business; in order to do that, however, we will need to know which page it is
We spoke with [redacted] at length in January As of today, the gift card is almost two and a half years old We are very sorry for the less than ideal experience while trying to pay at the restaurant last December The gift card was declined because the cashier attempted to authorize it for an amount greater than the card's balanceThe balance can be checked by going to https://giftly.omnicard.com/cards/balance or calling the phone number printed on the back of the card Giftly's terms and conditions ( [redacted] ) state that we will refund a purchase, for any reason, before the gift is redeemed on our website, which happened for this gift on June 25, On December 28, 2015, [redacted] spoke via phone with a representative of Omnicard, our partner company that manages the Visa Gift CardsThe notes for that call were regarding the inactivity fees that were charged to the card beginning at one year of inactivityThe fees were reversed at that time and restored to his card's balance During the call, there was no direction regarding the usage of the card from the day before The card's transaction history indicates that there were a few attempts to use the card on December 27, that were declined at a restaurantThe attempts were for a dollar amount greater than the balance of the card The transaction history indicates that the card was declined because it was run incorrectly at the restaurant, not because the card itself is defective Because there is nothing wrong with the card, we offered a couple options to [redacted] during our communication in January We explained that he could spend the Visa Gift Card as cash at any place of his choosing if he preferred not to return to the restaurantThe Visa Gift Card in his possession is the equivalent of cash and can be used as payment anywhere that Visa debit cards are acceptedIt is a standard Visa Gift Card and there is nothing special or unique about its usage compared to other prepaid cards Alternatively, we offered to refund him the balance of the gift card minus a small fee that is charged to Giftly by Omnicard for decoding the card's magnetic strip Because there is nothing wrong with the card, we offered a couple options to [redacted] during our communication in January We explained that he could spend the Visa Gift Card as cash at any place of his choosing if he preferred not to return to the restaurantThe Visa Gift Card in his possession is the equivalent of cash and can be used as payment anywhere that Visa debit cards are acceptedIt is a standard Visa Gift Card and there is nothing special or unique about its usage compared to other prepaid cards Alternatively, we offered to refund him the balance of the gift card minus a small fee that is charged to Giftly by Omnicard for decoding the card's magnetic strip
We could send you the funds as a payment to your credit or debit card, as an ACH deposit to your checking account, or via PayPalOr, we could refund the purchaser to the original form of payment In January we stated a $cancellation fee; however since that time the cancellation fee charged by Omnicard has changed to $The total refund amount would be card balance minus $
Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2015/04/29) */ On 03/20/we received a concern from The [redacted] about the sale of gift cards for their establishment by GiftlyOn that same day we responded by addressing how Giftly works and asked if they would like us to remove the page or take any other actionWe never heard back until this complaint was sent to us via Revdex.comWhenever a merchant requests to remove their page, we will do so with no questions asked The page has been removed and we have requested that Google delete it from their index as well All of the business information on our website is from publicly available directories of businessesAll of our merchant pages can be claimed by the business owner so that they may customize the content if desiredCustomers recommend businesses to other customers through the site as wellYou get full price paying customers just by having your page listed with us, which is completely free Giftly is quite a bit different from traditional gift cards: https://www.giftly.com/merchants/faq/help A Giftly is basically a cash gift with a suggestion for where to spend itAny business can be listed and suggested Giftly recipients redeem their gifts through our website and we send the Giftly recipient the gifted funds directly When a Giftly recipient comes into your business, they pay you the full amount for their purchaseCustomers will not present anything to youWe work with the customer to get them the gifted funds, so there's really nothing you need to do Tens of thousands of Giftlys have been given and we've been featured on local and national news: http://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local/Giftly-Will-Shake-Up-Gift-Giving-XXXXXXXXX....⇄ http://www.bizjournals.com/sanfrancisco/print-edition/2012/12/21/giftly-lets-giv...⇄

Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2016/01/20) */ The first and only communication we have received from this customer was in the form of this Revdex.com complaint On Friday, December 11, Ms [redacted] ordered a Giftly greeting card to be shipped to the recipient's address via USPS First-Class Mail On the purchase form, it states that the card will be delivered in 5-days The card was received by the recipient within that timeframe, because the gift was redeemed on Saturday, December using the code printed on the card that was sent in the mailAt this time the recipient requested to receive the funds on a Visa Gift Card in the mail The redemption form clearly states that the Visa Gift Card can be expected to arrive in 10-days, which would put its delivery date well after Christmas The Visa Gift Card has been received and activated by the recipient, and as of January 20, 2016, all but $of the balance has been spentGiftly will not be providing a refund for a gift card that has already been spent
Hi ***, We will email you to coordinate refund/payment Sincerely, The Giftly Team
We attempted to contact this customer at the email address provided, but did not receive a response For assistance, we encourage all customers to contact us by filing a support ticket through the Help Center on our website [redacted] or by emailing us directly at [redacted] as stated on the telephone message The transaction history for this card indicates that it has been successfully used for one transaction We need additional information from you about the card being declined in order to properly address your concern Please respond to our message by emailing [redacted] For security purposes, we cannot discuss specific transaction information in a public forum such as this
Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2015/06/26) */ This has already been resolved directly with the customer On June 19, 2015, the customer confirmed with our Support Team that she received the $gift card in the mail If a customer reports that a gift card has not been received in the mail and appears to be lost, we will always send a new card free of charge or give the customer the option to receive the funds a different way Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (2000, 7, 2015/06/29) */
Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2016/01/20) */ This has already been resolved directly with the customerWe have been communicating back and forth with her since December 28, The $gift has been received in the customer's PayPal account as she requested On December 19, 2015, [redacted] redeemed her giftOn the online form, she was presented with three ways to receive the funds that were gifted to her: - $credit to her credit card (takes 1-days to hit your account) - $Visa Gift Card in the mail (receive the card in 10-days) - $credit to her PayPal account (receive the funds in 7-days) She chose to have the money credited to her Visa credit cardTypically if a payment is going to be unsuccessful, we are notified in real-time by the payment processing systemHowever, sometimes the payment initiates successfully and we are not notified of a failure until laterThis is why we had not notified her of a failure prior to December On December 29, we reset her gift and [redacted] selected for us to send the funds to her bank account via ACH (a new option), which we advertise as taking 2-daysSimilar to what happened with the credit card payment we attempted to send, the deposit to her bank account appeared successful from our endIf there is a failure after this point, we will not know about it until we receive an error code back from our bankTypically this happens within a few days or a week of sending, but sometimes it can take longer depending what went wrong (e.g., account unable to receive funds, typo in account number or routing number, etc.)We do not always receive a detailed explanation of the failure reason from the bankThere was also a bank holiday for New Year's Day during this timeframe, which would slow things down As of January 13, we still had not received notification that the transfer had failed and whether the funds were being returnedHowever, we told [redacted] that we would send the $to her a different way rather than making her wait any longer while we tracked down the missing funds On January 13, we reset her gift again for her to select a different redemption option or try again to the previous accountsResetting the gift also allows the sender (her parents) to request a refund from the Order Details page or through the link in their purchase receiptAs of January 18, [redacted] had not redeemed her gift or responded to our email message, so we sent her an email reminding her that the gift had been reset and offering any assistance On January 19, [redacted] requested to receive her $gift to her PayPal account via the online formWe were notified that the funds were unclaimed in PayPal because the email address she had entered contained a typo ('yahoo.con' instead of 'yahoo.com')On January 20, we corrected the error and resent the funds to PayPalPayPal has confirmed that the payment was successfully received, and we have emailed [redacted] to let her know Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (2000, 8, 2016/02/02) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2015/12/17) */ This merchant contacted us in November requesting removal of his business from our website I am confused why a Revdex.com complaint was filed, because we resolved this issue with the merchant at that time On November 11, we responded to his email confirming removal of the requested page (http://www.treatgiftcards.com/gift-card/pentech-services-penticton) and clarifying how our gift cards work Below is the message we sent to [redacted] @mail.com We did not receive a reply Dear ***, That's not a problem if you would prefer your business not to be listed on our gift card siteI have removed your page and requested that Google delete it from their index, which sometimes takes a day or two I'm sorry that our website has caused you concern but please allow me to explain what's happening because I do think this might simply be a misunderstanding Have you taken a look at how Treat Gift Cards work? I did not list my site with your company, your company assumed I wanted my company's images and name listed there I fully understand your business model and how it works, you are not understanding my point here Your company indexed my company's site without my knowledge and used it's name and images I don't care if it's free or not, if your company did something nefarious in the future my association with your company could be misconstrued You shouldn't assume companies like mine WANT to be a part of your site It should be an osituation Final Business Response / [redacted] (4000, 9, 2015/12/31) */ Our website has not launched yetConsumers cannot currently purchase gift cards from www.treatgiftcards.comPart of the reason the website is live prior to launch is to finalize the list of merchants who will be participating in the program

This is the first correspondence we have received about this issue The requested page has been removed from our website, and we apologize for any confusion or concernWe are not selling traditional gift cards Giftly allows people to send monetary gifts to friends and family and suggest where to go and what to get with the gifted fundsThrough Giftly, purchasers can suggest a specific business or business category to the recipient When a Giftly recipient comes to your business, they pay you the full amount of their purchase using a payment methodGiftly sends the gifted funds to the gift recipient directly, so the customer will not present anything to you and there's nothing your business needs to do Giftly receives business listings from local business data providersThe place on a gift is simply a suggestion from the purchaser to the recipient of where to go, therefore merchants don't need to pre-register or do anything differently For more information and to contact us directly, see [redacted]
