Destination Depot Reviews (118)

We have been working to get rid of her timeshare, and even have agreed to pay her maintenance on it as well to help allow more time to get it sold through an outside source. Last time we spoke to her was on April 25 by text from our office managers cell phone. This is her preferred mode of...

communication. We are working with her to get her happy.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 10679429, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me, provided they pay the two $69.00 activation fees to Travel Center on our behalf and we actually receive the two round trip airline tickets. Thanks.

I am rejecting the business response due to the fact that there has been no refund to my credit card as Mr. [redacted] has stated and I have been in touch with Capital One as of an hour ago and still no refund issued. He stated in his response that the refund was issued on November 6. He also said he included the new contract which was really the original one we signed trying to lead you to believe his s[redacted], just look at the dates. Is this the way to do business? Blatant lying and dishonesty!

He  stated that he would be able to pay the $69 dollar fee but that we were wrong in saying that they're business is responsible for that fee in the first place.  After he states that this is a promotion provided by another company that they contract through.  That is my problem. This is a contract they set up.  This is a promotion that their representatives provide given through their  seminars.  But that they are not aware that the fee is in place and should not be responsible for this.  I always read my contracts to see what is in them.  Wouldn't a multimillion dollar corporation do the same? And I did state that I appreciated that they are willing to pay the $69 dollar fee.  I do not believe that this is honest business tactics.  And that is what made me argumentative and unwilling to set back and be told different.

Destination Depot promised to be available whenever we needed them. They took over two weeks to return my phone call. Destination Depot promised us a free cruise and free airfare for spending $3,000 on the package and they promised free airfare and accommodations for attending the seminar. They did not deliver. The "free" airfare, accommodations, and cruise are most definitely not free. Once we mailed in the $69/pp per package ($276) the company sent a request for $100, which they told us was for taxes and fees, and that seemed reasonable for what we were promised. However, the only thing we received for $376 was a quote for a trip. They promised to be available 24 hours a day. They lied. In exchange for our $3,000 we were expecting to receive what the sales associate promised at the seminar. We have not received one single thing they've promised. We wanted it to work and if they would have delivered what was negotiated, we wouldn't be writing to the Revdex.com.

Mrs. [redacted] was never told that the flights were free, anywhere during the booking process or at the presentation. She was asked to sign a check in sheet before the presentation that stated that she would be responsible for taxes and possible fees and after the presentation she signed a gift...

acknowledgement that stated again that there were possible fees. The postcard she received in the mail also stating she was responsible for fees as well. As far as receiving tickets while she was at the presentation, we have no idea where she wants to go before she arrives and it is impossible to issue paper tickets anymore. This is why it is done through a certificate. Since Mrs [redacted] did not go through the presentation because of overbooking we will be more than happy to pay here back for the $138. registration fee. If she would jut call me at ###-###-####. By the way she never called us at all to even inquire about the fee charges, if she had this would it would of been an easy fix instead of going straight to the Revdex.com

It does take 10-14 days to process the check he should be receiving it next week in the mail.

If she could supply the email to me I would really appreciate it since we have no copy of a email being sent. I have enclosed a copy of a postcard that clearly states that " This special promotion for travelers is not sponsored by any specific airline. Offer void where prohibited by law. All Components of this awards giveaway are fulfilled by a third party. certain restrictions apply. Recipient responsible for all applicable taxes and or fess. Please call for details". I have also included a registration form and a git acknowledgement for as well, which both of them state that there are fees to register it. At any point before, during or after the presenation she could of asked what those fees are. Most importantly it is part of the marketers script to explain all the qualifications of the presentation and the promotional offer. It is possible that she was told and did not remembered, that does happen. I would still propose that flying round trip and 3 days and 2 nights of accommodations for $69.00 per person is an excellent value.

If Mr. [redacted] would call me I will work with him on the cruise. Even though as I mentioned to Mr. [redacted] on the phone, prices in travel change constantly and it is impossible to predict what the actual pricing may be. The prices in the presentation are examples of trips that members have taken...

or in some cases current pricing depending on the trip. When I spoke to Mr. [redacted] I tried to explain this which he did not want to hear. As I mentioned in the first sentence if Mr. [redacted] will give us a call we will try to work something out with him.

First contact I had with the company was this and there was no gift card received.  That's when we were referred to the  Travel center and scam began  Maybe I should file a complaint against Destination Depot as well?  They scammed us out of $5000 dollars. Dear [redacted],

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  I called ###-###-#### today and spoke with [redacted].  I gave her my name, address and phone number for the refund.  As long as they follow thru with the refund, I will be satisfied.   Thank you.

The receipt of materials was received on June 13, 2015, not June 17th. I should not be penalized if it takes them 4 days additional days to open mail, clearly a better system needs to be set up. The receipt for that is attached. I understand that it may take a few days and am very frustrated that they cannot give me a better timeline. I have never worked with a business that was this vague about such things.

Mrs [redacted]. notified us by mail in a letter that we received on Feb. 9th that she wanted to rescind on her agreement, we have canceled her membership effective of that date. If there is any monies due then they will be refunded, however if she stopped payment on the check,...

then obviously we do not have her money. The website has a lot more pages then 1 so it must have been when our page was being updated. It is a shame that she chose not to stay with the membership because we are assisting our membership with their vacation needs and have been for quite a long time. If she feels that the program is not for her and her family than that is her option, however she is in our system as a cancellation.

The response from the business speaks to attaching a postcard and other materials but I can't see where to access the attachments.  Furthermore, I'd be happy to forward the email from Destination Depot and my reply email after the presentation but as  requested in my previous response, I need to know how to do this.  This format of proceeding through the complaint process doesn't appear to allow for attaching emails?  Not sure so need guidance as previously requested.  When I click Browse, I don't get to my email and that's where I need to be to attach them.

We have no idea who this officer is since we are not the ones that contacted him. The check will be made out to Mr. [redacted] and will be sent to the address that is on file with the Revdex.com.

I have contacted the merchant company In-Compliance and they are making ever effort to try to make sure that he receives his money. They will be contacting his card provider to help him.

I spoke to Mrs. [redacted] asking her if she had contacted anybody to resolve this issue and she said no. Never did they call the marketing company, corporate office or the certificate company to resolve this issue before lodging the complaint. I told Mrs. [redacted] that the issue would of been solved...

easily. I told her we would pay the $138.00 to take care of it. They told me that we said the trip was free. That is not true I have enclosed an example of the invitation and I also have included a copy of the registration form and the gift acknowledgement form, which they sign to take the presentation and receive their certificate.  No where or no one is saying free at the marketing company or is it anywhere in print as free. Unfortunately people do hear what they want to and not the facts. As I mentioned we will pay the $138.00 that they requested. I did mention to Mrs. [redacted] that it seems strange to me that they did not try to contact anyone or even try to solve the issue before lodging  a complaint.

The above complaint was closed because the business, Destination Depot, was supposed to refund me on 2/18/16, but I have not received it or heard anything from them.  Can I please reopen this request?

We sent a check out two days after the resolution of the the complaint. Since Mr. [redacted] did not receive the check we tracked it and it seems it was not cashed. We are cutting a new check and canceled the other one. Checks are cut on Wednesday and FridaWe will 2 day a new check out on Wednesday so Mr. [redacted] should have it on Friday.

Since all the postcards are mass produced at the same time, and quality tested before they are addressed, I dought seriously that see would of received one that did not have the disclaimer printed on it not stamped. She is also trying to interpret the disclosure on her check in form in her favor but it clearly states that she would be responsible for all fees, deposits refundable or not. She had no problem when she signed the disclosure. I also don't believe that [redacted]'s assistant would say something like that since that is not the case. We are not associated with any airline or have access to any private information especially which credit card she uses. Except for what she shows upon check in for identification purposes. The airline that is used for the promotional offer is solely based on the destination she chooses. Nothing more. I do apologize that she feels that she was misled, but we are very specific about what is said and how it is said, this helps prevent problems like this. That is why the fees are mentioned at the time of setting up the appointment, and again on two separate forms that are signed by the person attending the preaentation. We are a large company and do not hide or misled anyone, we dont have to. I still say where can you fly for $69.00 and 3/2 nights of accomidations. And if she would like help registering the offer we would be more than happy to assist her with the process.
