rejecting this response because:American Airlines never resolved this complaint to my satisfaction.  My multiple requests for either a call or email response went unanswered by the business, so I have not yet received the explanation I requested.  I am also disappointed by the timeliness of this reply (2 years after my complaint).  I look forward to direct contact from American Airlines to explain their position and in what way they feel they have addressed my concern.

The response they sent me was to offer me a small refund of less than $100  in the form of a credit to use on another flight. I lost over $500 in this transaction.

I am rejecting this response because:As explained to Mrs. [redacted] I was charged at the counter when I was ready to board. I explained  the situation to the lady at ticketing but she didn't care and stilled charge me anyway. I don't understand why is this so difficult to fix. I am not asking for thousands of dollars, just my money back that I shouldn't have been charged to begin with. Who is going to make this right for me?

I had contacted American Airlines and they did offer us travel vouchers - 4 for $200 each.  I didn’t exactly want vouchers, I...

wanted a credit to my account for the funds they put back on my card, but they said that was not possible. I did accept the vouchers because I didn’t think I would be compensated any other way.  Thanks.

I am rejecting this response because: American Airlines were unwilling to help in the recovery of my back pack left on the airplane with my laptop and many other valuables in it. They could have easily seen on the security cameras whom from their staff took it and follow up with their personnel. This was not a small item that you can easily hide and the fact that it contained valuables for over $3,000 in it should have prompted more effort on their side.

Again, there is no resolution to my problem. When I received a phone call from [redacted], Customer Relations at American Airlines, he offered no resolution to my problem and in fact laughed at me and told me they would not pay for my phone. In his follow up email sent directly after the phone call, again there was no resolution offered. He stated that the customer relations team had responded to me on six different occasions. These “responses” were clearly automated or in the very least written by a person who took no real interest in my problem. They suggested I file a lost baggage report, which I had done immediately upon my arrival to my destination and had clearly communicated in my previous correspondence. Mr. [redacted] also acknowledged that our airplane arrived late, but only by 9 minutes. I’m not sure how that could be when it took off nearly 45 minutes late. At the end of our conversation I asked Mr. [redacted] why he had bothered to call me if he had no solution to offer. He was clearly agitated that I had contacted the Departement of Transportation and spoke to me in a manner intended to intimidate and minimize. It is truly unfortunate that I have had to go to such great lengths to even receive a phone call from a representative, no matter how unhelpful.

rejecting this response because:Their representative called me and I explained the entire issue to her again, then she said that she can't help with anything besides making a personal apology. I asked her who I can speak with that can reprimand the employees involved and reimburse me. She said that she might be able to refund $200 dollars and wanted me to promise to accept it before she would check if she could do that. When I did not accept the $200, she got belligerent and frustrated. She refused to let me speak with someone that could fully address this event and then said "ok I am hanging up" and hung up on me! I would definitely not consider this to be an adequate response by any means. The issue was never resolved and I still believe that I am due compensation to rectify this.

have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted]. Even though American Airlines provided my wife and I a voucher, it was hundreds of dollars less than the money we lost as a result of missing our flight because of American Airlines. Additionally, communicating with American Airlines was difficult because they do not have a phone number to call. You can only send an email or write a letter. After writing email I was finally able to have an American Airlines representative call me. I was pretty much told this is the best they will do, have a nice day and hung up. Overall, I found the whole experience with American Airlines very poor and believe their customer service to be the worst I have experienced of the airlines I have flown.
