I have been a customer of ADT Security Service for the past year During this time I have had a problem with one particular sensor failing I have repeatedly asked for help in resolving this problem ADT's solution is to replace the batter Each batter costs $ During this year I have replace the batter in that sensor times All the other sensors are still using the original battery I contacted the VP in charge of this group, when the local people would not help, but he has not replied
I had an issue with my system in which a credit was supposed to be given; no word on the credit and now no notes of a credit per customer service rep I called into ADT back in May after receiving a notice from [redacted] about alarms at my propertyI had a total of three in which I had no notice of because I was not called by ADT on my contact number even notifying me of an alarm occurrenceI had tenants in the property previously in which moved out in March of After they moved out, the code was changed and from there, I had nothing but issues because after finally getting to the root cause, the system was sending out a panic alarm with my code instead of a regular alarm setThe rep I spoke with did not know what to do so I asked if I could just change the code in which she did not know if it would work but thankfully it did and I have had no problems sinceMY problem is that I was charged 25$ by the city and they needed documentation from ADT st
We used to be with Protectron who seemed to have been bought out by ADTWe had maybe six months left on a contactADT says years Hello, we verbally agreed via phone call to another two years with ProtectronSince then they have been bought out by ADT it appearsWhen we called ADT to see how much time we had left on our contract they told us four yearsWe said absolutely not that we had only agreed to two more nears and that was near two years agoAt best we had a couple of months leftWe couldn't get anywhere with the phone person so we gave upThis is why I am filing this complaint as I could not get anywhereAt no time did I sign a four year contract renewalWe renewed over the phone for an additional two years only and as mentioned that was pretty near two years ago now
I received a ridiculous bill from ADT ADT mandated that I update my alarm. When I told them I anticipated moving they assured me that was not an issue. When I accepted a new job, I called to cancel my service. The person I talked to "Ryan" informed me that I should keep my service on until the day before I moved to ensure I'd have an alarm. When I called the informed me that they were going to bill me as they require 30 days notice. After some back and forth, ADT agreed to not bill me for late cancellation. I assumed that my account would be suspended (as in no bill for not using the service). "Ryan" called several times trying to get me to have ADT installed at my new house in OR, and I asked him to stop calling and I would contact them when I was ready for an alarm. Several days ago "Ryan" called again and tried again. I asked him again to please stop calling, my account was suspended due to the move, and I would let someone know at a later date if I decided to install an alarm.
I just wanted to let you know about the cancellation experience that I had with ADT monitoring service. Because of my experience, I can not recommend ADT as a security service. When I called to cancel monitoring of my security system, I was transferred to the cancellation department (after 5 minutes on hold and a 5 minute conversation with a customer service rep). They then, over the course of 4 minutes, summarized my security system by identifying each and every sensor in my house, a process that I felt was very unnecessary, and also stated that the cancellation would occur after 30 days from my request. In addition, they would send a signal to my system that would disable any programming that they had done, including arming and disarming codes, which would render the system inoperable (a system that I had been charged for and paid for). They then put me on a 5 minute hold to process the cancellation. After the hold, I was told that I would be given "several points of advice" regarding my cancellation. The first point was that they would of course notify my insurance agency that I was no longer monitored. Because my cancellation was because the property was going to be rented, they asked me about the lease terms and duration of the lease for my renters. I did not feel that this was any of their business, and told them so. When I replied that I would not give them that information, they stated that the renters would be obligated to enter into a 3 year contract, and if their lease term was less than that, they would probably not protect my property with an alarm system, leaving it "vulnerable". This is a short version summary of a 5 minute diatribe from ADT's cancellation representative. After this was stated to me, I asked if there was anything else, and the representative stated that there were several more advice points that she would like to tell me. I asked if the cancellation was processed, and she replied that it was, but she needed to give me more "advice" regarding my cancellation. I asked her not to waste my time, and she replied that she was just trying to do her job. At this point I said goodbye and hung up. So basically, if you need to cancel service with ADT, expect to have a representative take at at least 10 minutes of your time trying to scare you about having an ADT unprotected property, inform you that they will take action to notify your insurance company that you should not be entitled to any discount afforded to you by having your property protected by them, and then provide unsolicited advice for an unknown amount of time to attempt to scare you into continuing with their product. If their product was really that good, they wouldn't need to put you through all of this if you wanted to cancel. Please as se consider this when selecting a security service.
I was missed informed on a what they would be charging me and miss quoted I was quoted a price over the phone and they charged me double the amount they quoted They also did not notify me they will be charging me months once we activate our account
Ring Door Bell video recording I was not told that I would have to subscribe for video recordingI was told it was included in ADT monthly bill December 2016, I upgraded my current ADT service to include an outdoor camera after a few packages was stolen at my front doorI paid over $for the upgradeA technician comes the following week and installs a "Ring" video doorbellI was surprised to see that they were installing a proprietary productThe sales department did not mention that when I placed the orderThe installer told me that ADT would have access to recorded video if it should ever be needed by law enforcementThey NEVER said I had to pay Ring after the first days $a year or $a month for video recording! To keep my bill affordable the sales rep up sold me (while doing the install) on a Hub and dimmer switch and an additional indoor cameraNone of which work consistentlyRing disconnected my video recording after daysI called ADT customer service in
DO NOY BUY ANY SERVICE OR MERCHANDISE FROM THESE CROOKS!! YOU WILL REGRET YOUR PURCHASE minute after they leave your house following your install!!!! This business is not honest and does not have any integrity!! We called for several months regarding a faulty alarmNo one came to the residence to fix itI also called the installer to come back to fix itNo one would fix it!! The alarm just kept going off because of the wind blowingI would not use this alarm system nor anyone associated with themAll they want is your moneyI spent dollars for the install and after they run your credit card you can not get any service on your alarm.they always have excuses or do not showThey also play little tricks like oh "you didn't call in but your husband did" so that doesn't count on the number of times your household requested service!! DO NOT USE THIS ALARM COMPANY OR HAVE THIS ALARM INSTALLED ON ANY PROPERTY THAT YOU HAVE!! You will start to regret your purchase minute after they install your alarm and they leave your property Please contact meWe need to do a class action against this business!
I have been billed twice after calling & requesting cancellation of my service since Feb.y I want a refund of the two last pymts not authorized, I have called numerous times requesting cancellation since February I had set up auto payment through the service provider and since I cannot cancel on my end, requested my service be cancelled effective March Each time I called they stated they would update my account as closed and refund the last month payment that was automatically deductedI never received a refund and as of today I have another pending charge on my accountI have spent numerous hours on the hold speaking to someone there, especially when you are calling to cancelI have continued "account closing specialists" trying to manipulate me into keeping the account openI want to be away from this service provider and want them to refund my unauthorized last two payments
Was sold a wireless camera system that doesn't work w/brick houses Invoice conf# XXX XXX XXXX In of May ADT installed two wireless cameras [redacted] ADT, [redacted] totaling $by credit card & changed a different bill for my "ring" for the door (ring works beautifully) Two weeks later I find out a car on my driveway was broken into and that's how I found out my cameras weren't fully workingWithin that month I had around 4-tech guys come to my house (cameras were changed times) NOW the whole neighborhood knows the cameras are not functioningBy the way when I called & spoke with one of the specialist I believe her name was ***; I was informed "cameras are a luxury & ADT is only obligated to secure my house NOT my driveway" Three stressful months later of the back and forth communication I was informed due to my house being made out of brick, it causes me to have issues with my wireless connections, so they are able to help me out if I pay an additional c
Wrong system installed by company's own admission but company has failed to make replacement system completely operable as it promised it would. More than a year and a half ago, my family contracted with ADT to install a security system in our home. Our system failed to operate and after numerous service visits we finally learned that given the large square footage of our home, the wrong type of system was installed. Upon inspecting and reviewing our system, the escalated tech team admitted that this had been a country wide problem. We asked to terminate our contract but ADT insisted on replacing the system at ADT'/ expense. ADT began installation on the new system but because an area of our home was now under construction, the system could not be finished. ADT said it would return to finish the installation but now only says it will do so if we pay to finish the installation. We have experienced repetitive problems from over billing for the equipment, to the system itself not working One camera or the other would be malfunctioning This suggested that the internet was working We would have to run hours away to check what was wrong Placed several calls to ADT, but they take so long to get a representative on the phone, our cell phone would then die from lack of batteryWe also experienced intense worry, because we didn't know what the problem was Then, for what ever reason, the camera will come back on again During this time, you can not see anything that is going on in that area, but your still paying for it We had our realtor come, and when she walked in the front door, our motion detector fell off to the floor We put it back together, but do not know if it was correct The next time we came, it fell off again It is broken The ADT company does not monitor this and the customer receives no notification that their equipment is faulty and ineffective They had continued to bill us for the equipment over and over We had to call them for that as well, and their response was that this happens often We have notified them several times with the problems we were experiencing and wanted to cancel this stressful and ineffective system They are trying to enforce a contract that they themselves have not honored It seems that a class action law suit may be applicable
This company works and contracts out to liars and cheats and they do not have any integrity as a business
ADT billing and contracts I had ADT for a number of years, in May of my obligation was fulfilled but I kept the service I November of I received a notice of needed upgradeI made the appointment and took the day from work to meet the techThe tech never showed and when I called I was told that the appointment was not a guaranteed dateI at that point called and requested that my service be endedI was told it would be days, December NOW the end of April 2016, I continue to get charges from ADT and notification of needed upgrade This should have been canceled LAST YEAR!!!!!! Trying for months to cancel service and steadily being charged $60/month, currently paid $with no cancellation and no alarm system My alarm system has not worked for YEARS! I finally was frustrated with multiple attempts to correct service and decided to cancel service months ago! The customer service agent begged me to give ADT last chance and stated that I would not be charged for repair and quoted me a reduced price for continuing serviceThe repair person sent could not repair problem but stated that he would return to replace entire systemThat was months ago! He never returned and I was continuously charged the $60/month without the reduced rate I was promisedFed up, I called today to DEMAND that my service be discontinuedI was promised reduced rates, free service for months, etcI still said "No"Finally I was told that service could not immediately be disconnected that it would take another month and another $Thus,I am out out $to cancel service
I told sales rep everything that my current system had, including a connection to my home automation lighting All existing devices were to be connected and no costs to be incurred Tech (really a sales guy) arrived and immediately drilled a hole (through wallpaper) in our front hall and installed control panel (per ADT procedures) Technician then reviewed existing system and declared that ADT could not connect to any existing devices Tech reported that over $2,in replacement devices would be required and that a connection to our home automation could not be achieved ADT hoping we were now captive with panel and holes in our front hall I refused to accept their reversal and sent their technician away Hole remains in our from hall, and I intend to pursue ADT for damages Deplorable Bait and Switch sales methodology
The salesman came to my house on Thursday, April 28th to talk about the services and I ended up signing up for the "premier package"He then set my installation up for Friday the 29th and asked the earliest I could be homeI told him I could be home by 3:(which required me to leave work early) and he said someone would be thereFriday the 29th, they did not show up until 4:and did not leave until almost 8:p.m The installers did not finish and stated they would be back Saturday the 30th at 2:p.m., so I stayed home and waitedThey did not show up till after 4:p.mand didn't finish what they were doing until after 6:p.mThey STILL did not finish the installationThe alarm system was functional as far as setting the alarm, but we still did not have the camera, remote nor did they show us how to use the app on our phoneI was told they would be back Monday the 2nd to complete the programming and provide the missing pieces Monday the 2nd around 11:a.mI got a call from someone asking if the installers could return that afternoon between 1-and I told them no because last time I took off work early, they showed up late and proceeded to tell them it had to be sometime after 4:p.mShe then told me someone would be at my house tomorrow (Tuesday) the 3rd at 4:So, again, I was home waiting and no one showed upDid not even receive a call that they could not make it When the sales rep signed me up for services, he said installation should take 1-hours because he has "good, knowledgeable techs"I was not expecting this to be a 3+ day processNor did he tell me they were going to sub out the installation to another security companyI was expecting professional techs that knew what they were doingNot a couple guys that seemed to be learning the system as they went I was told I had to submit a cancellation letter to terminate the contract - which I didApparently my "wish to cancel" reached the original sales rep that went to my house and he reached out to meHe was very apologetic and urged me to stay with ADT, told me this was not typical and he would have a meeting with the other security company to get things straightened out and that he would have an ADT tech at my house Friday the 6th to have the system completed professionallyHe kept saying that if I had anymore issues, to go straight to him, not corporateI should of known better when he kept saying thatBut, unfortunately I fell for his lies and decided to stay with ADT and complete the installation of my system Friday the 6th comes and the SAME installer from the other security company I had problems with was there, AGAIN! I then expressed my disappointment to the rep and his response was "I apologize, all my other techs are on installsI've got an install that should be finishing up nearby and will try my best to get him out there to assistI promise everything will be taken care of professionally"My question is why did you schedule me promising an ADT tech when you didnt even have one available? All the person needed to do was complete the programming of the system and install (plug in) a cameraHe got to my house at 4:and did not leave till after Again, he was on the phone most of the time trying to get instructions and directions on what to doOh, and the other tech the rep told me about never showed up - go figure I feel like he lied and suckered me in to stay with ADT knowing the same people would be there to install so I would be out of the day cancellation policy and be stuck with this company for yearsMight I add, when I first signed up for the system, it was never mentioned that I was signing a year contractI can see why now! Shame on me for not reading the fine print better Even with the $gift cards for referrals, I would never recommend this company to anyoneI would in fact pay my family and friends the $to go somewhere elseA "1-hour" installation turned into days! What put the icing on the cake was the sales rep audacity to lie to me about the final installation and not even care - as he knew I was already stuckI just bought a new house, which is when the rep came over, and the "home buying process" went SO MUCH easier and smoother than getting a security systemMy job office uses ADT also and my Office Manager warned me about issues she has had with themI should of listened and will recommend a new security company be installed once the contract is overLiars and deceitful people do not deserve my, or anyone else's business
ADT came and uninstalled my currently working Guardian system, then threw the sales pitch which was supposed to be $per month and in reality was $per monthSo I abandoned the install and the installer couldn't reinstall the Guardian keypadWires left hanging everywhere and the equipment is very hotADT will not pay for the reinstall of the equipment and said they are not required to do soMany phone calls and many lies from the top downDO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!
I was charged an early termination fee when I was advised upon ordering that I would be able to suspend the account for years before a fee is charge
I called ADT on 9/18/and spoke with Todd (no longer with the company)I inquired about upgrading my services and was told there would be a year contractI told Todd that I would be moving within the year with my parents (for a year) and they already had service so I would not be able to agree that a year contractTodd advised me that I could place my services on hold for up to years and if I got the services turned on within years I would not have a penalty for cancelingOn 6/16/I spoke with a manager named Irvin who advised that the early termination fee would apply because I am not moving my services and was told that the only way I could avoid that fee was to get services moved to my new home within days or have the new owner of the home activate services within daysHe said he would apply a credit for day
