[I have reviewed the response from Ashley Furniture Industries. Dealing with Ashley has been a painful and time-wasting experience. I have been trying to resolve this issue with Ashley for over a year and I have had no success. Every mirror and dresser they deliver to my home to replace the defected ones have the same defect, even though the mirror and the dresser that they display in the show room have no defects. Basically, what they display in the show room could be different from what they deliver. Even their delivery drivers confirmed that every mirror from this product line that they delivered to other costumers has the same defect. The two mirrors that I purchased from Ashley have a significant lean and one day might fall down. This has the potential to seriously injure or harm my children, my wife, or me. On top of this, the delivery drivers do not show up on time. On one occasion, the delivery driver called me at eight on Saturday morning and promised to be at my house by nine in the morning. I stayed at my home until the evening, waiting for the driver, but he never arrived; my entire day was wasted.At one point, Ashley sent an independent technician to inspect the furniture to determine the cause of the issue. He told me that there did indeed seem to be a defect with the structural support of the mirror. However, Ashley’s employees continued to deny this and refused to supply me with a copy of the technician’s report.I have called and went to their store countless times to get the issue resolved and I have even left my phone number with the employee so the manager, Randy Hadaway, can call me back. Unfortunately, I have had no success.I was offered 20% of the total merchandise value as compensation (approximately $600). I called a few days later to accept the offer, but Ashley denied that offer. Recently, I offered to settle this matter for $500 but they still do not want to accept it.I will be willing to accept $500 and put this matter to rest. ]

Upon review of the customers claim the customer called Ashley...

Furniture on 6/22/2016 to report that their headboard and footboard were fading. The customer’s furniture was delivered on 12/04/2010. Ashley furniture holds a 1 year manufacturing warranty and this customer has had their furniture for 5 ½ years. I do apologize but Ashley Furniture would not be able to assist with the issues the customer is reporting.

review of [redacted]’s complaint, we have found that a claim was filed with Ashley Furniture through our warranty department. We sent a technician out to Mrs. Richard’s home to fix and/or advise of the issues with the wedge. The technician did recommend we replace the wedge. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Hello,The furniture was replaced  (which we appreciate) but I just took painter's tape off of my front door frame (we had just painted the hallway prior to the delivery truck arrival) and the frame to our front door has been damaged by the removal of the returned Ashley Furniture. We would have noticed the day of the delivery had we not just painted our hallway and had tape covering the frame. Please contact me as soon as possible as the trim to our front door needs fixed. We live in a new construction home and have never had anything taken out of the front door prior to the furniture pickup this week. Thank you.

The refund amount will reflect to Mr. [redacted]’s account within 30-45 days. Unfortunately it is not resolved and several things are still in play to hopefully get furniture repaired. We have been sent several forms again to fill out with our complaint and requests so we will see if anything happens with this. Thank you for looking into this for us. Hopefully just having a consumer complaint for others to see prior to their purchase will let them know of the companies false advertisements.

Thank you for the update from Mr. [redacted]. As we previously
advised Mr. [redacted] had a one year manufacture warranty which expired
12/2/2008. As a courtesy to our dedicated customer we did inspect the furniture
on 03/12/2011. The furniture was identified as meeting all specifications. All
seat cushions will in time often soften with normal wear and tear. This is not
considered a loss of resiliency or material manufacture defect.As Mr. [redacted] is a valued customer, our retail location
presented him with a discount offer of 50 percent towards a new purchase. He
has declined this offered seeking an additional 25 percent. We feel that our
offer has made good faith effort to assist Mr. [redacted]. At this time the offer
of 50 percent still stands, and we invite him to contact the retail location

After reviewing the customer’s complaint...

we see that we have tried working with the customer for a year now on some type of resolution. The customer first called in on 7/22/15 reporting the issues with the mirrors leaning. This was 2 months after the customer had received their furniture. At this time we offered a technician who verified the issues and recommended an exchange for the customer. We then processed and exchange and attempted to deliver 5 different times to the customer over the next several months. Each delivery was refused by the customer.
 
On 11/07/15 we offered the customer a 20% discount on the merchandise to keep the items as is due to us not being able to satisfy him with his exchanges. The customer declined the offer. Again over the next few months we spoke with the customer multiple times and attempted more exchanges to try and satisfy the customer.
 
Our latest conversation with the customer was on 7/20/16 when we offered a 50% discount to keep the furniture As Is. This credit would be in the amount of $304.34 plus tax. The customer did not like this offer either and refused. The customer demanded at least a $500 discount to keep the items. Unfortunately the customer only paid just over $600 for the items we would not be able to offer $500 to keep these pieces.
 
We are still willing to offer the 50% discount to keep the items or also attempt another exchange, whichever the customer would prefer. Please have the customer contact us back to let us know.

My view on the matter is that I wasn't given a choice of credit for product or the choice of another product of equal or lesser value. I explained that I don't have a queen size bedding at my home so they basically obligated me to choose a king size base I didn't need and charge me an extra $700.00 on my account. I would gladly accept a credit on my account or a different product for the value of $2,100 this king size motion base I have no use for at my home. Regards,
