Review: Reference account number [redacted]. On or about * January 2015 this account was closed to coincide with the termination date of a promotional offer. It was never closed despite several emails, and phone calls the latter of which was a customer rep. who told me that the account was already closed. I called to verify that it was closed. Meanwhile we received two daily papers Monday through Friday because my roommate had himself subscribed to the Times, [redacted] (###-###-####). I repeatedly contacted NY Times per email on their home delivery website.
Today I called and customer service accounts had absolutely no idea that this account was closed even after all the apparent misinformation I had already been given.Desired Settlement: I have a bill for $95.04 in my hand which covers the period 1/**/15 (when the account was closed) through 2/**/2015. Billing should be through 1/**/15 only.

Response:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
[I am waiting for an apology from [redacted], all the printed materials have been "signed" by that person. is that even a real person? will they not even accept responsibility for this ongoing harassment?]
In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.
Sincerely,

The New York Times concerning the worst customer service I have ever received and a customer service rep who was insulting, rude and a royal pain. I should clarify that it was not really 'customer' service but a scam to not allow us to cancel our subscription. My mother's newspaper from the NYT was cancelled in writing in June of 2015. But they continued to send and charge for the paper that was cancelled. I called them the first week of August 2015 and requested the cancellation to the young woman who answered my call. She refused. I told her that was not an option and I wanted it cancelled immediately and that we had already submitted in writing to cancel 2 months previously. Again she would not cancel it and begin spitting out all of these great deals she was going to give us without raising the price! I told her no thank you just cancel it! She refuses again and again with more 'great' offers. It was time to raise my voice and I told her it was to be cancelled now. Yes, you guessed it...refusal and more deals. I finally, and very loudly, asked her what part of NO did she not understand?? More deal offers came and my voice got louder telling her I was filing a complaint with the Revdex.com. More refusal. I got louder and nastier and told her to cancel or else I would contact my attorney. More offers for the same mount of money. I was furious! Finally she put me on hold to check with someone about me cancelling. When she returned to the line, which took forever, she said it was cancelled but there would be no refund and we would have to receive the rest of the month's worth (our month was not a calendar month) of newspapers, like it or not. Mom had already made her payments because she was afraid not to and they let us know there was no way to get a refund on the service that was previously cancelled. (We didn't request that but she made it clear anyway.) So there we were strung along for two months and guess what came in the mail yesterday....A New York times newspaper. There will be no more payments regardless. They have been dishonest too many times. I would not order and pay for this paper if it was the last newspaper on the earth.
