CD check lost in mail - takes forever to get my $$
My CD with Synchrony Bank matured and I asked them to mail me a checkI have two addresses registered with them and my check was to be mailed to FLDays gone by and no checkA rep said that the check was mailed to NY and that I should not worry since it would take daysI waited and waited and no checkThen another rep says that the check was sent to FLSo which is it!? Now they say I have to request to cancel their check and I was not to send the form by email; only by snail mailSo I sent the completed form by certified mailAnd the bank can't find itIt's been more than a month and daily calls have not produced any resultsI will demand an interest AND never ever do business with this bank and any future incarnation of it
I've had several loans through GE Capital and now Synchrony and it's always the sameI originally got the loans through vendors and took that route because it seemed more convenientThat has never panned out to be true
It's like this company is living in the dark ages and they play pass the call until you're dropped from the queueThey don't make anything easy for the consumer and nobody wants to help you passed their small part in the operation
It's and the still don't offer internet management of their loansYou have to send your bill via registered mail to make sure that the don't post date receipt and charge you a late charge They send me emails about things that don't apply to the type of loan that I have with themI'm over this companyI will not make a big purchase if I have to take the loan out through themMy loan is paid off in years and that's itIf *** isn't using a different company by then, to bad for them
I took a second job and every check I get I pay towards a credit card balance till it reaches zero, throw the card in the safe and move onto the next oneI started with a I'm now at I can't get above thatMy frustration is Synchrony Bank whom I have accounts with, has closed my PayPal Extras MasterCard Account which had a balance, months after I paid it in full Walmart which had same limit they reduced it to limitThis I know has hurt my scoreThere reason was a soft pull that reflects collections accountsAll of which are medicalToo many inquires which I just traded in my Accord months ago for a new oneSame finance company, and switched cell carriersHow can I combat this? I have left with this bank Victoria Secrets and Care CreditI have never missed a payment, never been lateAs a consumer I'm frustrated trying to do the right thingFrom watching my score it appears when they close an account it affects the use rateI thought if I switched gears and paid off collections accounts the remaining card companies could not use this as reason to close my account once the account is paid in fullI personally think laws should be put in place where if a company closes your account or reduces your limit it doesn't affect your score much like the more recent laws where consumers can shop for a car or home mortgage for days and it's only one hit to your credit score
Any advice? I've decided to leave the last accounts with this bank to the very end in paying them off since they keep closing them, pay off the others, then start on collection accountsI will never do business with this company again on any level
I previously made a negative complaint about Synchrony So it is right that I update that with the follow up I receivedThey contacted me with in a week by the phone we discussed the problem and how it had affected my Credit RatingWith in weeks they cleared the whole matter up and also repaired the negative marks on my ratingThough it took a negative review to get their attention they did come thru at the end and make goodThank you
They can't keep anything straight, get my information wrong, lose paper work and are in general the worst company I have had anything to do with in the last years
After a very miserly, money-grubbing experience from this bank I paid off my Lowes credit card account and closed it Due to an oversight, I missed a $payment, and within a matter of days I began receiving dunning collection email notices and robo-phone calls threatening further collection action There's NO WAY IN HELL I'm going to do ANY business with such a money-hungry institution Really turned me off to Lowes, as well From now on, if and when I do need to shop at Lowes, I'll just continue to use my debit card or the regular bank credit cards that I've been using for the last years
I am a frequent shopper at T.JMaxx I signed up for the T.JMaxx rewards card at the T.JMaxx store on Madison Avenue in Fair Oaks, CA I was treated with such rudeness and incompetence by a supervisor (!) at Synchrony Bank, that I will be immediately canceling my card She refused to answer my questions, choosing instead to lecture me in an incredibly disrespectful and condescending manner I had attempted to register my card online, and it said that my social security number was wrong, which of course it was not I was put on hold, hung up on, not helped, and treated with the utmost rudeness when I asked the bank for helpThen I was told that I would be charged for speaking to a representative! I do not pay people to mistreat me I will also let T.JMaxx know that I will no longer shop there due to their association with a bank that treats customers like sewage
Synchrony Bank failed to acknowledge a payment made by my Bank of America online bill pay service They charged a $fee They asked me to "mail a front and back copy of the cancelled check" to them Of course, I do not have a cancelled check since I used online bill pay They apparently don't understand that the world economy has progressed in the last years I reported the issue to BoA and their customer service arranged a conference call with Synchrony Bank during which Synchrony Bank acknowledged receiving the payment, confirming the correct amount of the payment and payment date After the conference call I called Synchrony Bank to close my account At that time Synchrony Bank denied receiving the payment I have now spent about hours trying to protect my good credit I regret ever having anything to do with Synchrony Bank and will never do business with them again
Buyers beware of Synchrony Bank, formerly GE Capital Bank, and its no interest promotions If the balance is not paid at the end of the promotional period, the interest added to your outstanding balance is calculated from the purchase date Not only that, you then pay interest on the new balance which includes the deferred interestCan you say rip off?
Lesson learnedNever again
I purchased a TV and washer & dryer from HH Gregg and was able to obtain a credit card which allowed a promotional purchase through GE Capital and then Synchrony BankThese items where purchased at different times, so I had two separate promotional purchasesIn case you have never done a promotional purchase, the benefit is that you are not charged any interest on the item if you pay the item in full before the promotion expiration dateThe downside is that if there is any balance on the promotion after the expiration date, the interest (usually 29.9%) will revert back to the purchase dateDue to this, the interest can be quite significantI begain to have problems after I paid off the first promotional purchase and felt there was some type of dishonesty on the part of Synchrony BankThere were too many "incidents" that kept occurring, which, had I not been paying attention, would have caused me to be charged interest So I went online and paid off the first promotion purchase one month before the expiration date which had a balance of $However, about a month later while making a payment on the 2nd promotion, I saw there was still a balance of $still due on the 1st promoI called Synchrony Bank (SB) and was advised that they applied the to the 2nd promotion and so this left a balance on the 1st promotion, which they clarified would have caused me to pay interest in the amount of $had I not checkedI promptly paid the small balance to clear up the promation and felt it was weird, but MAYBE an oversightHowever a month later, I received an invoice which included charges for interest on the 1st promo! I called SB again and was advised they had billed the interest in error and after a heated conversation with a supervisor, the charges were reversed and the acounting was straightened outI received a written assuarnce that the billing was now completely accurate and it wasA month later, I proceeded to pay off the 2nd promotion and after reviewing my bill online, I saw that SB had for whatever reason, applied a huge credit to my account, which lowered the balance so I could only pay the amount that was due! I can't and still do not understand why any adjustments were made to my account since it was completely straight less than a few weeks beforeI can only think that since this promotion was now due to expire in few weeks, this had to been done on purpose! After calling SB again, and screaming at the supervisor (I had spoken with a supervisor each time), I was told that could only pay the amount due, their system would not accept the true payment as it was considered an overpayment and I would have to call back in a few days after they cleared up THEIR error and could then pay off the differenceTherefore, I had to call in yet again, get a supervisor to review and clear up the account and accept the balance of the payment with only a few days left before the expiration of the promotion! I can't help but think there was some attempt to generate interest, which they surely would have charged had I not been on top of thisIf you must purchase items on promotion from SB, I urge you to make sure you pay off the promotions well in advance and also call to be sure there are no errors or hidden charges SB makes their money off of these promotions so please be carefulIf you are the type of person who loses track of dates/times, I would suggest that you do not purchase items this way I have paid off these purchases and will never utilized these promotional purchases again
Synchrony Bank /Chevron gas card has THEE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVERAnd the CPA's even worse! There was fraud detection on my card all because I did not NOTIFY THEM n so THEY Blocked my card however THEY lifted the block to pay for over $in car repairs but blocked it again days later for a $gas purchase(GO FIGURE)So after me calling n calling after I submitted the documents they needed to VERIFY MY IDENTITY I WAS TOLD BY SEVERAL CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS THEY HAD TO REVEIW THESE DOCUMENTS (bank statement I.d and a Copy of my Drivers License) and it would take 3-days then 7-days then 14-days etc...all to verify my identity but they would allow me to CLOSE THE ACCOUNT ....HOW ? they would be willing to close the account w/o verifying who I was based on my calling them but would not lift the block based on my calling them......illogical! THIS CARD SUCKS AND THEY ARE ONLY ON THE EAST COAST SO IF U LIVE OUT WESTDo ur self a HUUGGE FAVOR AND GO WITH EXXON MOBILE They are EVERYWHERE!
I am cutting my card and never using this bank again I had deferred interest for year apparently and once it was over I got charged $1,and they couldn't work with me even though I was trying to pay the whole thing off You would think they would try and help with at least part of it or try and send some correspondence to let you know your promotion is over year is a long time but I honestly had no idea the interest for all months would all add up! I paid it off as soon as I hung up with customer service because I am giving them not one cent more Had I known I would have paid off with my savings account $is a lot especially for a single mom of
I have been attempting to resolve an issue with Synchrony Bank and importing my credit card transactions into Quickbooks for more than a year They tell me it is a "Quickbooks Problem" Intuit says it is a "Synchrony Problem" I have been able to verify that it is indeed a Synchrony problem, and I know exactly what is wrong in the transaction file But I have found it impossible to get past customer support They have told me that they "Will not pass it on to anyone." I have never found a way to contact anyone at the company who will help me They are "polite" but totally uninterested in helping to resolve the problem
I have been with this company for a few years nowI have not had late payment in all the time I have been with themEvery time I pay my account in full my credit limit drops downStarted at $750, then $(dropped my credit score because of ratio), then just yesterday I paid them in full again and again they dropped me from $t$so again it will drop my credit with a few points because of the ratioSo I just closed the accountI was told the reason for the decrease is because of my credit scoreMy credit score is the best now that it has ever beenMy Capitol One CC increased my credit by $a month agoMy credit shot up by 29points (Transunion), 26Points (Experian) and 31Points (Equifax) just in the last month and they want to tell me its my credit??
Every since GE switched over to synchrony I have had issues with my cardsI have always paid my bills on time or before timeI did not receive a notice stating that my gap store card was converted over to my gap visa neither did I receive notice that my Sears MasterCard account was closedThen when I called customer service in pure shock and embarrassment after trying to use my Sears MasterCard I was told my account was closed due to "high credit card balances." I have always made sure my account was paid on timeI never had this problem with Capitol one or comenity bankI can't wait to pay synchrony offDealing with this bank has been a terrible experience for me:(
Synchrony Bank offered me a settlement on my account which I accepted The check was sent via certified mail, return receipt requested and was postmarked days before the settlement date Synchrony refused to process the settlement payment claiming it arrived days late?! Synchrony is now suing me for times the settlement amount! I will fight this in court and will NEVER do business with any company that utilizes Synchrony Bank The customer service is non existent, the reps do not speak or understand English
I have been a card holder for yearsI've made payments 100% on time every monthI made a purchase 1/years ago that was mo no interestThe sales person assured me that I was only charged interest on the amount I did not pay off in the 1st monthsSince I am a sales person as well, and I am professional and act with integrity, I trusted himI realize that was the fault of the sales associate that is not affiliated with synchronyWhy I am upset is I had my card paid down to $1000, and then they cut my credit limit in half and added $worth of interest, putting me $over my limit! I called in and the "Customer Service" representative was extremely condescending in toneI have now been on hold waiting for an "escalation specialist" for minutes
After having some dental issues which would be quite expensive, I was asked if I wanted to apply for a Care Credit Card which had a month free financing benefit I thought that would be great I had a maxiumum of $4K which was the amount of money I would need to pay for my procedures The bill was paid off in months I also bought a treadmill with the month free financing which also was paid off in months
The following year I had to replace two bridges for a total cost of about $8K I had paid for the first bridge with my Care Credit CardWhen I found out that I would need to replace the second bridge, I also put that on my Care Credit Card However, the second payment was declined I asked the dental assistant why it was declined and she said they didn't tell her why They handed me the phone and the person from Synchrony Bank asked me some personal questions regarding my income I felt uncomfortable answering since I was in a dental office within hearing distance of several people So I tried to quietly give my income although they already knew that since I had a credit card already
They still declined my request for an increase, but would not tell me why I called Synchrony Bank when I got home and they also could not tell me why I was declined They gave me a phone number to call to find out the reason I called the number and got a recording on how to request information on why I was declined Which I did
I received a letter and a credit report The letter stated, "We regret that we are unable to approve your credit line increase request" Yes, I already know that I was asking for the reason I guess I did not jump through enough hoops yet So they stated at the end of the letter that if I would like a SPECIFIC reason for the action, please write or call What did they think I called the first time for....an UNspecific reason?
So if I contact them again, I will receive, within days, the specific reason OK I did that Finally I get another letter thanking me for my inquiry regarding my reason for declining a credit line increase Why would they thank me? Do they like getting these letters from outraged customers? So they responded by saying that my credit line was declined for the following reason(s): Information in our files regarding your existing account" Wow How specific can you get? What does that mean?
This is my take on this ugly experience with this so-called bank They have NO reasonI am never late paying anything I have sufficient income No black marks against me for whatever reason I think they don't want to give me credit because I pay it off in time and they are not making any money on me
Why would a bank refuse credit to a good customer? It makes no sense On top of that, since I also have a JCPenney Card with them, they raised my limit on that one and I did not request an increase
Consequently, I will not do business with a company that does not back me up when I need it They could have increased my limit, but choose not to, and will lose me as a customer for that reason It would appear to me that that is a bad business move There are many other credit cards I can apply for Why would I put up with this bank?
I will be sending all this information to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau I think it is important that they know about the evasive, questionable practices of this bank
So, to Synchrony Bank, I am gave you specific reasons why I am not doing business with you any longer That's much more then you gave me
I would also like to add that I am confused about the A- received by the Revdex.com for this bank It appears they get a A- rating because they responded to the complaints? Of course, they are going to respond They know it will lower their rating if they don't The point is with that many complaints, they should not be getting a high rating Very unfair to the company who has complaints or complaint and gets the same rating
This company will never improve or need to improve when you justify their practices with an A- rating Inconceivable!
My comments are similar to most of the other negative commentsI am a Canadian and I signed up for credit from this organization whiole on a cruize ship and buying some artI tried to pay my bill but they refued a credit card from Canada, would not except a cheque or cashI finally sent them a money order which they exceptedIn the mean time they put a service charge on my account for the refused paymentI tried many times to get a hold of customer service with the same resultes as everyone else in these complaintsI have been given a number to call back and have left countless messages that are never returnedNeedless to say I closed my account and will never deal with this orb=ganization againThis is probably the worst business transaction I have ever experienced in my life
I have had excellent credit with this company for years Never missed a single payment or late Recently went through a divorce, which negatively effected other areas of my credit This company closed my cards with no balances and reduced my credit limits without warning or notice Unless a customer has bad credit directly with you, I feel like this is a poor reason to take away credit and close accounts!
