I have several credit cards with GE, now Synchrony bank (Amazon, Walmart MasterCard, Paypal, JCP) GE was wonderful Over the course of a few years I received many credit increases and great service Since the accounts switched to Synchrony the experience has greatly soured A few things have happened since the switch
1- My minimum payment has increased
2- Even with NO LATE PAYMENTS- my credit limits on my cards has been decreased significantly- which lowers your credit score due to utilization
3- I have noticed my accounts were hit with significant late fees even though most accounts are paid every weeks I have been able to recoup some of the late fees
4- My Paypal account is in shambles due to not crediting several payments that were made directly from my bank account After emails (no response to either) and now calls (waiting for information promised from my call yesterday) The website is a joke The statements are a joke
Soon as a get my balance to on all of them, I will only keep the JCP to take advantage of the bonus discounts I am already paying the balance as soon as I make the charge
I would absolutely NOT recommend these cards to anyone
I have been going round and round trying to find the website where I can monitor my BP credit card charges and payments since Synchrony has taken it over This is the most frustrating thing I have been throughI have been taken from one search to another without any results in finding what website takes care of the BP Card serviceI was very disappointed that chase released control of my BP Card since I had both the BP Card and Amazon card under the same website to monitor the charges and payments This has been a nightmare and I'm not done yet since I do 99% of my banking online
We have excellent credit and a positive history with several credit card issuers
We tried first dealing with these people through Sam's Club when they issued the Discover Card Because of numerous issues we quit using the card
When they switched to Synchrony Bank and the new Master Card, we thought we would give them a try again due to the very good rewards they offer
First, it took about months to get a Master Card after they announced the program
We finally got the card, used it a few days and suddenly it quit working When we called we were told the card was suspended because it was being used in a different state from where it was issued-and they suspected fraud We were told we had to call when we used the card in a different state So, I guess that means, if we take our RV to California from Alabama again, and go through state, we have to make calls I believe this is an amateurish over reaction
Now, for a week or so we are unable to access our account on the internet The first Customer Rep we talked to tried to help She failed and said she would have to transfer us to Walmart She then disconnected us-I don't blame her Several days later we talked to another Customer Service rep She tried the same thing I had tried over and over (I got the message "...technical difficulty, please try again later" She then said that was all she could do She offered to read me the transactions over the phone She further told me that there were problems with the website and she had no idea when it might be fixed So, it seems, if that is true, the website has been down at least a week, maybe two with no hope of getting it fixed any time soon
I am a big Walmart fan and I am surprised they would lend their name to such a shoddy amateurish operation
I paid my bill on time using the automated system but it posted days later and I was charged a Fifteen dollar late feeAnd, to make a payment with a live person it cost ten dollarsAnd after talking with them they tell you how much they appreciate your business....what a joke!
I purchased some carpeting from a local business about months ago, and it was financed through GE Capital, then taken over by Synchrony I made a few bucks more than the minimum payment each month with the intention of paying it off before the interest free promotion period was over Through no one's fault but my own, I missed the cut off date by a couple weeks and my balance due went from about $to over $ I called Synchrony last night and explained to Rebecca what had happened in the hopes that something could be worked out She told me if I could pay off the or so dollars now, she would waive the over $in back interest that was added to my balance for not paying it all off in time She also waived the $charge for paying over the phone I am very happy about this as it was my fault for not paying it off within the promotional period and they still worked with me
This bank is absolutely horrible to deal with Their on-line account is extremely confusing (I believe this to be intentional) making it very difficult, if not impossible to get accurate up to date payment and charges information without going to multiple screens
The bank also charges interest on a purchase before the statement even is issued They also charge a minimum interest fee of $even if the interest charge is only a small amount, such as $
I was also told that I should call the bank if I make a payment so that they could adjust the interest What good is online banking if you have to call the bank anyway
I cannot believe a bank like this is allowed to operate I guess rebranding will only help for a short time Same old lousy bank
I had several credit cards all serviced by synchrony Lowes, Amazon, PayPal and qvcI had a problem with qvc over an purchase of a Nuwave ovenI stated I paid for the product and they stated I didn'tThey continued to allege that I owed a payment on ez pay which I didn't as I paid the balance prior to the last ez payment even being sentThrough finance charges and such they are currently stating I owed them almost for the ovenShortly after all of the disputing with qvcI get a letter stating my PayPal credit was reduced from to a lesser limit, leaving me with just in available creditMy balance at the time was right around My payment has not been late and I often paid more than the minimum dueLater the same month I went to pay my lowes billLowes had a limit and my balance was just The automated system stated I had just in available credit, that my credit limit had been reduced.again, never late with a payment, never close to exceeding the credit limit and often paid more an the required minimumUpon hearing this I called one of your representatives and even spoke to a so called supervisorI was informed my accounts were being reduced because a random review on the account had been done on them and my debt ratio was found to be too highThere was no call for my credit report to be pulled and reviewed and I didn't give permission for such an actSecondly, I was making all of the payments on my accounts without fail or cause for concernI was so upset that I closed the lowes account altogether during that conversationLastly I just received a letter that my Amazon account has been closed by you as wellThere was a balance on the card as I haven't used it since last year and the limit was I feel discrimated against as I feel ALL of this action is due to my unhappiness with qvc and my refusal to pay them twice for something I already paidSeems ironic that you state my debt ratio is over where it should be yet I just obtained a car loan based on my credit and of my other creditors have almost doubled my spending limits based on timely payments and paying more than the minimum due consistently and responsible spending habitsI did NOT ask for the increasesHow can these companies be increasing my limits if my debt ratio is already overNone of the cards I had with your company had limits higher an Yet these companies rewarded me and respectively
Further, it has been explained to me by a Trans Union representative that your company's actions actually Negatively impacted the credit report I have been trying to rebuildPoints are earned when the credit limit available vs the credit used ratio is computed and it is around beneficial is stay around 25%I was right on target for positive impact to my report but as in the case of lowes, I had only of my available credit used That's 26%You wrongfully put my limit at with my balance and now I'm showing as having used 92% of my available credit so my credit rating has been adversely affected, when I did nothing wrongYou did the same thing with my paypal accountMy percentage of usage went to 94% when you lowered my limit and again, I did nothing wrong and always paid my account on timeYou need to correct and restore my accounts as they previously wereI am not understanding how it is morally and ethically right to close accounts in good standing due to one I have a disputed with yet that is exactly what has happenedThe excuse of my debt ratio being too high doesn't hold water when my spending limits were raised just this week by and I didn't even ask for them to beI would think those companies would be seeing the same data your company allegedly sawI will tell you I feel violated and I am not happy about itI am a single mom trying to rebuild after a horrible marriage and to have someone try to destroy that using half baked excuses is infuriatingHow can my relationship with qvc be used against me to affect lowes, Amazon and PayPalI will be notifying their complaint departments as well as filing a report with the Revdex.com and unless injustice is corrected I will be seeking legal counsel as well I'm sure these companies wiould like to know how you are chasing their customers away and violating them when they pay on time and have done so for the duration of their relationship
I opened the "month interest free" account in January and paid monthly on time via Bank of AmericaAfter months, in June 2015, I was under the impression that the account was fully paid and therefore, stopped paymentI never received a bank statement from Synchrony bank to verify so I called them to confirm if the balance was paid in full and the representative on the phone indicated a remaining balance of $was owedI paid this amount and closed the accountRoughly a year later I received a letter from credit collections indicating that I owed $1,After multiple calls and being transferred between the debt collector and Synchrony, I opened an inquiry via mail to Synchrony with support of all my monthly paymentsSynchrony bank responded January 18, and attached old statements that were addressed to the incorrect mailing addressUpon opening the account in January 2014, I resided at *** *** ***, *** ***, **These statements from Synchrony bank were sent to *** *** ***, *** ***, ** and the first statement was mailed July (more than a year from opening the account)The first statement stated if the remaining $was not paid by August 5, that I would be charged accrued interest of $1,Again, I was not aware of this since it was mailed to the wrong addressIn addition, the representative I called stated I owed $
I never received a phone call, email or mail from Synchrony bank indicating these chargesThey failed to communicate the timing of the chargesOn my end I was proactive in making sure the balance was paid in full by 1) settimonthly checks via Bank of America and 2) calling Synchrony bank to understand the remaining balance owedIn addition, when I did call Synchrony bank to understand if the balance was paid in full, I was provided misguided information by the representative: 1) not indicating the appropriate amount owed (the representative indicated I owed $182); 2) not indicating the date owed and 3) not pointing out the accrued interest charge
I just received a letter from Synchrony Bank informing me that my account had been closed due to a returned paymentLooking back through my records I did find that I had used the wrong card to make a payment and had immediately made another payment with the correct debit cardI would have thought that the $penalty would have been sufficient but apparently they felt a more severe punishment was neededInteresting way of doing business
I see that I am not the only one with a less than positive experience with this bankI recently received a letter by mail from Synchrony Bank that my Banana Republic credit card limit has been loweredI have had this account for almost a yearI have never paid late, and have never paid interest on my purchases since I pay the entire balance off before it is dueAlso, I have never requested a credit limit increase and therefore, did not understand the new inquiry on my credit score or the report
I will be closing this account as I feel that was unfair business especially to a good customer as myself
Well....I have several cards that are owned by Synchrony Bankof them had their limits cut within months of the cards being issuedBut just this week, my *** card was cancelled due to inaccuracies on my credit report that the pulled months ago! Those inaccuracies have since been rectified, but I was told that its an automated process and there was nothing that they could doBut here's the funny part...they actually issued me a card recently! Crazy! They cancelled a card that was NEVER late, had a balance and their reason was for something being reported by Transunion on Sept 6th and then issued me a new card on Septwith a different companySmhIm so frustrated with themThey have no consideration for their loyal consumersThey dont care that this is going to cause my credit score to drop, they dont care that its XMAS time and I may have planned on using that cardThey just DONT care!
Extremely dissatisfied with this company I received a credit card through them for a bed in marchI returned the bedI only received statements which I made payments on(total $145) and haven't received anything until recently I got a letter stating it is in collectionsI called both companies requesting statements be sent to me.the company said they could not send any but they could take my payment over the phone The collection agency sent me statement (for september) which told me nothingI don't have a problem paying what I owe but neither could tell what it is for sinceI returned the merchandise I understand if it is for shipping but I refuse to pay late fees due to the fact that I have only received statementso and none since I returned the merchandiseI also have a different credit card that was acquired by synchrony and the Same thing has happened and I I am suppose to receive a new credit card (waiting since August)It's the same story ..they know nothing.won't take off charges.never have record of when I callWhat a fraudulent and Disgusting way of conducting business
I can tell you that I have more than a hand full of credit cards through GE capital bankEver since Synchrony bank has taken over the operations I am having trouble logging in to access my accounts just to pay my bills on timeSo now that my credit cards are late and mind you only day because of their error I{ am now being charged their dollar late fees and my monthly minimum payments have gone upI have also within the last month paid all my cards down to under 40% of their capacity to boost me credit score but because {I have one account in dispute with another institution all together they then lowered my limits t a thing you do they only care about their interests not oursWell good luck for these suckers collecting on these cards cause they are going into dispute also and not a dime of my money Is being paid on any card with their name on itBorder line extortion here stay far away
The calls I am receiving are from JC PENNY about a credit card supposed issued by Synchrony Bank
I have been getting robo calls from JC Penny to call back about some credit card issued by Synchrony Bank but the 800-527-given by that call is also an automatic system which will not help unless I give it my credit card number (which I don't even know that I ever requested or had) or my SSA number which I do not want to give to a MACHINEthe third choice given is to say HELP, does not work I give up and put the phone down But I am receiving this call sometime more then once a day Their is no phone number to call back on JC Penny's web site either
I've had an amazon store card for probably about 5yrs and I've always paid my bill on time and even more than the amount duethis past month I was late, I knew I would be because of another bill that I didn't expectSynchrony called and called, every day, up to times a dayI don't answer calls from 'unknown' numbersCall once every few days if you need to but 4x day is harrassmentThis definitely makes me think about doing business with any company that uses SynchonyAnother of my loans with a different company, this was Ashely Home Furniture, was sold to Synchony and once that was done, my experience with them was also just as awefulSTAY AWAY FROM THIS ORGANIZATION
Never had a problem with a bank everMy card was on autopayment and for some reason they never charged my account and now it's looks like I missed a payment and they closed my accountI've always made my payments on time and paid more than my minimum paymentI will never ever do business with them again
No one was willing to help us when we called the customer service lineWe never missed a payment and paid three times the minimum amount due and they charged us $in interest
I secured a Roman's credit card for my family I have had this card for several years Never missed a payment As soon as Synchrony Bank took over, My minimum payment went from $a month to $dollars a month! and $of that went to interest charges This is set up to keep you in the hole, but I promise after this card is paid off at the end of the year, No more Roman's, No more Brylan Homes, no nothing with Synchrony attached to it!
P.S> Don't bother calling customer service to complain, because they will tell you that everyone was charged this interest rate across the board if you have a balance over $500, which is probably 98% of there accounts If the credit card is backed by Synchrony Bank, leave it where you found it!
BAD Synchrony Bank
Chase sold my BP Visa card to this Synchrony Bank, I then had to spend many hours redoing my payments set upsThen after I did that, I am still getting notices from concerns that my payment is late or not accepted form Synchrony Bank
For the fourth time (4th) again and more lost hours out of my life, I ended up trying to speak to a female somewhere in the world about this mess, I had to request a supervisor because I could not understand her speech, nor did she understand the problem I am having
The end result, I was told if there is a problem with payments, I must pay manually, wait for hours and then try to set up auto payments againWhat a mess, shame on Chase for dumping its longtime customers
After (more hours out of my life) this is straightened out I will cut up my BP visa card with this horrible so called bank, they stinkPlus I'll buy my gas at another stationBye Bye PB, Chase and this bad Synchrony Bank
I have a Belk and Walmart card though Synchrony Bank and both my credit limits were lowered within the past two months on my cards as soon as I paid them downIt claims it reviews credit periodically and can lower or increase your amountWell I have to say my credit was worse when I first got the cardI had a bankruptcy thenThe bankruptcy has been removed and my amount is lowered? Makes no sense what so ever! Do they not realize they are just making your credit numbers worse by lowering your limit? I am choosing to no longer do business with Synchrony bankMy friend got the same treatment a few weeks back and she also has paid on time as wellFriend didn't have a bankruptcy
