I've been trying to close my account for about a month now. I originally just wanted to update my information but they won't let me and now they're refusing to give me almost $600 that I paid in back. It is available in my account.
I have an invest and a retirement in a debit account with stash and they locked the account over 5 months ago I have almost $17,000 in there. They will not let me get and I've called numerous times since May trying to get this resolved with no luck and not able to get my money and no one can tell me why they just keep telling me that my account is locked
I requested to close my Stash account around 9//19. The web site says it takes about 7-10 business days but it has been longer than that and I have not received any communication from them. When I log back into my account it says it is in the process of being closed but there is no way to click on anything to see the status of the closing process. I e-mailed support and they replied that they are experiencing a higher than normal volume of requests and will be in touch soon. It is concerning to me that they have my money and aren't returning it to me in the time frame they stated they would.

I have an Account with STASH for a little over $600 dollars. For the last Year or so I have had problems with them. I thought it would be great to start something small with extra change but boy was I wrong.
They began withdrawing money on a regular basis from an account that I rarely used, even after I asked them to stop. I have been trying online and emails to close this account for months.
Finally on October *** 2019 I decided to call them. I spoke to a supposed Customer Service Supervisor named Vanessa. I explained that I just wanted them to send a check to my house. They said they cannot because they need a BAnk statement from my account. I explained that I no longer have that account, mostly in part due to them. This also was an account I used for spare change. Anyway they kept withdrawing money and caused me overdraft fees over $200 dollars. I closed that account after negotiating with the bank manager. Vanessa says that banks are required to keep bank statements for 6 years and that I can go back to that bank and get a statement. Confused I explained I dont have the account why do you need me to go back to that account. Vanessa said that they need to verify the bank information. I said 'For What?', I just want to close the account. I said mail it to the address on the account. Vanessa said the account is locked and it cant be unlocked without that statement. I said what does it matter, the account is closed, I just want my MONEY back. She then said there is no way this can be done without the statement. I asked to speak to another supervisor and she said there is none. After debate she gave me Steven. He of course was already briefed and regurgitated the same thing. I explained to Steven you didnt need the statement when you TOOK my money. I just want to CLOSE this account.

I had been trying to sell my stock with this company and no longer wanted to have the business debit my account. The company put my account on hold therefore on my part to resolve I had updated my debit card assuming that would resolve the issue of inability to sell the shares? To no avail. No resolution. I then called customer service, the statement that was given by the tech was I had my account on hold due to not downloading a bank statement. I refuse to download my personal bank statement with my financial information? The customer service tech stated since I was unwilling to download my bank statement my account remained on hold. I find this unacceptable. This is money I invested and should be able to access my account. Sell my shares if I choose. Not to be dictated and my account on hold due to not wanting to download my bank statement. My debit card should be enough.

My debit account was closed without rationale. I called to inquire about the situation and was informed that nobody knew why it happened. The customer service rep I spoke with told me there was no information on my account and that there was no supervisor I could speak with. This poses am issue for me as this is the only "bank" account I use.

Terrible company. I have reported fraud 6 times and they sent a new card but never refunded the fraud amount and then allowed fraudulent charges again. Terrible and I don’t recommend anyone trust this bank. Scam

I have been trying for the last two months to close my personal and retirement account with this company. Through numerous email from their support team, it's always another issues that prevents me to do so.
When I log into my stash account, it says in the process of closing on one and for the retirement account it tells me to close, so I hit the confirm and close button and it gives me an error message that tell me unable to do so. So, I call again, see real times and every time support tells me to do this and that and when I do, it still will not let me close my account. They say if you are 59 1/2 yrs you have to do IRS forms, and I tell support I'm over that I'll be 60 in 3 months, then they tell me ok, let me get you to the person who can handle that. Then they put me on hold, sometimes for 45 to 60 minutes til they close for the day, and I'm left with no relief.

Stash is still preventing me from closing my IRA account. They tell me to link my bank to the account, and when I try to, an error comes back saying your account is in the process of closing, please contact customer service. When I do, they give me the run around, once again, and tell me the same thing over n over again. It's almost like, doing the same error over and over again, expecting a different result.
Still dissatisfied with Stash.

My Stash Debit account was locked over a month ago for "suspicious activity " and I have contacted them four times now and have been told something different everytime. I was told my money would be given to the state and I would have to go through them to get it back or to have my bank try to contact them. The only consistent thing is they say there is nothing they can do to let me get to my money.
Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

The option to buy stock for pennies on the dollar is awesome. But with Stash you are loosing more than you gain. Stash will withdraw money from your account without your consent, they will say you activated reoccurring activity on your account. But on your end it show's nothing of that nature. Then they will lock your account and hold your funds. Beware when dealing with stash invest.

This is a criminal business that should be closed. I canceled my account with them 6 months ago and they stopped billing me only to restart billing me suddenly a couple of weeks ago. I contacted them and they claimed it was a computer glitch. They keep saying that my account is in the "process of closing" but they never seem to be able to actually close it and they continue to send daily emails and debits and credits to and from my personal bank account. I want this account closed and for them to stop meddling in my bank accounts.
