Spirit Delivery & Distribution Reviews (138)

Review: We purchased a refridgerator from [redacted] , and had to go through Spirit delivery services. Two delivery men arrived bickering , unsure of how to carry it up our steps. Once they had decided , they used a strap around the refridgerator to balance it between the two. They obviously could not get a good grip and had to stop at the top of the second flight of stairs and set it down roughly on the hard wood flooring. They then tried to lift it again , and had to keep setting it down. Each time they set it down , they scuffed the flooring. Since they were so rough with handling the refridgerator , they not only scartched the flooring but scratched the brand new refridgerator and left knuckle imprints in the stainless steel.

We notified the company , and they refunded us some money for the refridgerator. To cover the cost of the damage done to it , but when it came to the flooring it wasn't so easy. They claimed the men had in fact delivered the product wrong , and should have removed the doors of the refridgerator to properly deliver the item. Since we claimed the floor was damaged they sent out two men from their company on seperate occasions to take pictures of the damage. Now they claim the pictures are from before their services were rendered and it was our own fault for the damage done to our floors. We had this flooring installed a little over a year ago, the flooring was not damaged until they delivered the refridgerator. They have been unprofessional and obviously unorganized in the overall ordeal. We were very unsatified and are now left with damaged flooring and no solution thanks to this company.Desired Settlement: We would like the flooring repaired or replaced. It's very new , and just because their business did not handle the delivery correctly we feel they are responsible for fixing their mistake.

Response:

As per the delivery company on the day of the delivery prior to bring the appliance they did a walked through and advise the customer that there were pre-existing damages to the flooring and they also took pictures of the pre-existing damages. (see attached) The damages to customer home is wear and tearing , pre-existing not related to the delivery of the appliance.

Review: On July 22, Spirit Delivery delivered and installed a new refrigerator on behalf of [redacted] to our home. A few hours after installation, I found out the shut off valve connected to the refrigerator line was leaking water. I called [redacted] Delivery right away to notified them and filed a claim. The claim was forwarded to Spirit Delivery. I filled out the claim form and mailed a photo of the leaking shut off valve to the claim department. They denied the claim saying that the shut off valve was broken before. I then emailed them the details of what happened that day. The claim associate further denied the claim and would not let me talk to any supervisor about this situation. The shut off valve was not leaking when the technician came to install the refrigerator. The connection was dry and there was no problem with the shut off valve. It was until a few hours after technician left, I found out the water leak. With proper installation, this damage should not happen. We are asking Spirit Delivery to reimburse the repair fee of $133.50 due to the installation problem. In order for the plumber to fix the cracked pvc pipe, he needed to cut the sheet rock. We patched up the walls ourselves. The cost that we are asking to be reimbursed is just the repair cost from the plumber. I reported this incident right away when I discovered the leak after the installation, since then it has been two months.Desired Settlement: Spirit Delivery should reimburse us the repair cost due to installation issue. A company should provide good and honest service to customer.

Review: Spirit delivered a washing and drying to my home in late August. While installing the washer they damaged my laundry basin dislodging the pipe from the base of the floor which resulted in water damage to my basement floor and plumbing expenses to have the pipe replaced.

I initially contacted [redacted] Sales whom I purchased the washer and dryer, filed a claim with Spirit to have them deny the claim. Until I wrote to [redacted] Corporate office.

Long story short, my basement still has not been repaired nor have I been reimbursed for the plumber.Desired Settlement: My desired outcome is have the basement repaired as well as the pipes to my basin permanently repaired and be reimbursed for the temporary repairs already made.

This claim was tender into the insurance carrier for handling. Claimant needs to reach out to the [redacted] Insurance Company adjuster in regards to the damages to her property. Claimant was provided with the information .

Review: I purchased a dishwasher for a rental property from [redacted] The company installing the dishwasher damaged the counter top. I was referred to Spirit Delivery to handle the damage claim. On August 12, 2015 I received a release from Spirit Delivery. It was in the amount of $550.00. I signed and returned the release on August 13, 2015. On August 27, 2015 I sent an e-mail to Diana R[redacted], Claims Manager, asking for the status of my check. Diana responded back stating the check hasn't been issued - and never stated when I could expect it. On September 9, 2015 I escalated this matter to Russ C[redacted]. I was told he heads up the operation at this site. I received an e-mail from Diana that day stating a check was being issued that day. On September 15, 2015 I sent Diana and Russ another e-mail stating I still haven't received the check. On September 16, 2015 I received an e-mail from Diana stating the check was mailed out on September 12, 2015 (which was a Saturday). On September 20, 2015 I sent Diana and Russ another e-mail stating I never received the check. On September 21, 2015 I received an e-mail from Diana stating the check was sent to our rental property - when the release and an e-mail to Diana clearly had instructions to mail it to my home address. I checked with our tenant and was advised nothing from Spirit Delivery was received at that address. I e-mailed Diana and Russ and asked that they notify me by the end of the day of the tracking number for the check that they need to send to my home address.Desired Settlement: I want to receive the check that was promised by Spirit Delivery.

Review: This company delivered a stove purchased and when they installed the stove dented my refrigerator. However, when they asked me to look at the stove and make sure it was working they were standing in front of the refrigerator. I was asked to sign a form stating the stove was delivered and working properly. I signed this form and walked them out. The entire time they stood in front of the refrigerator. Then, I walked them out and came back inside and noticed that there was a dent in my refrigerator. I called [redacted] within five minutes of them leaving and tried to actually stop them from pulling out but ofcourse the driver didn't see me.[redacted] assured me this would be taken care of and after going through several of their claim departments was told this was to be handled by Spirit Delivery because they were an independent contractor and should resolve the matter. I ended up receiving a letter stating that Spirit Delivery was not responsible because the form I signed when they delivered the stove said in it there was no damage upon delivery to my residence. How was I to know I was supposed to inspect every step they took and they I believe intentionally stayed in front of the refridgerator. I was also told it was a form saying I received delivery and the stove was working. I called immediately and they deny responsibility. I am disappointed in this delivery service for not standing behind their work and best buy for hiring companies they apparently don't stand behind either.Desired Settlement: I have asked the company's representative to repair my refrigerator. They state they don't have to do anything and are not responsible. I just want them to repair the dent.

Review: Spirit delivery, through its affiliate, caused $2600 in damages to my property when delivering a refrigerator on 10/20/2015. On 1/2/2016, I received a letter that they have determined that they are not responsible for the damages to my property.Desired Settlement: I want the company to take responsibility for the damages to my property through its affiliate and cover the repair work through their insurance company.

Business

Response:

Attached please find a release sign by the claimant at the time of the delivery stating no damage to his property . We are stating by our denial and letter was send out.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: As I have previously noted and documented through uploaded files to the Revdex.com, the signature on this document is not mine. The company has not responded to emails requesting an explanation for this discrepancy. I continue to request that the company accept responsibility for the damage caused to my property and pay for my claim as submitted.

Review: A crew of three delivery guys came to deliver a Washer/Dryer and Refrigerator on 30th January and ended up damaging the door of the Washer/Dryer closet. Not only did they damage the door, but they had no idea what they were doing, for they were unable to successfully install the Washer/Dryer. Spirit Delivery is refusing to take responsibility for the damage.

On 28th January I moved into a new condo. The Washer/Dryer sits in a closet with the Washer on the bottom and the Dryer on the top. The guys struggled with getting the Washer/Dryer into the closet. Note: They did not remove the door of the closet to make the installation easier. They managed to get the Washer/Dryer into the closet with one guy inside the closet behind the Washer/Dryer. The guy in the closet said he could not plug the power cord in and get out of the closet. He told me I needed an 8ft power cord. They moved the Washer/Dryer forward into the doorway so the guy could get out from behind the Washer/Dryer. The guys were very much in a rush. They did not leave me a copy of any paperwork whatsoever. Because the door could not be closed due to the Washer/Dryer in the doorway it was left all the way open, just as the crew left it. Therefore, the damage wasn't noticed until the following day. After making many calls, I learned 8ft power cords don't exist. I had no idea how I was going to get the Washer/Dryer hooked up. I called a friend of mine who is a handyman. He came over the following day. My neighbor also came over. It was when they went to remove the door of the Washer/Dryer closet that the damage to the door was noticed. Please note, I didn't end up needing a longer power cord. My friend and neighbor were able to install the Washer/Dryer with the attached cord.Desired Settlement: I received a quote for the damage to the door from the maintenance company who handles repairs, etc. at the building in which I live. The quote was for $300. I asked that Spirit Delivery either deal directly with the maintenance company or Spirit Delivery sends me a check for $300.

[redacted] uses this company to deliver washing machines in central VT. The delivery men they subcontracted out this work REFUSED to connect hoses and level the washing machine. DO NOT BUY APPLIANCES FROM [redacted] while they use this company for their delivery. I have complained to this company directly and they do not even respond to complaints.

Review: On August 11, 2014, Spirit Delivery and Distribution, contracted as a 3rd party provider through [redacted], delivered [redacted] refrigerator. Unknown to me at the time, one of the delivery specialists severely cut over 10 feet off my copper water line WITHOUT my permission. I was told the copper line was cut to prevent kinks. I paid a lot of good money to have this copper water line installed and have never had an issue with kinks nor water leakage. If I had been given the courtesy of asking if the line could be shortened I would have said no. After the extremely short water line was connected the refrigerator, the apparent improper connection directly attached to the refrigerator by the team leaked throughout the day and was not discovered until night when a large pool of water had congregated under the refrigerator and leaked into the basement. Several kitchen floor tiles were cracked as a result of the water damage. I am unsure as to if there is also subfloor damage. I took my severed copper water line into my [redacted] located at [redacted] but [redacted] the manager said there was very little he could do at the store level except file a 3rd party escalation with Spirit Delivery and Distribution as they were the ones who provided the delivery service. In the time since this incident, I filed a consumer damage claim through [redacted] who handles all of [redacted]’s claims. I have received no communication at all from Spirit Delivery and Distribution despite my numerous attempts to reach out to them via email and phone to resolve this issue. I have pictures that I will gladly provide to show the amount of copper water line that was cut as well as cracked tiles. I am asking that Spirit Delivery compensate me in order to have a new 30 foot copper water line installed and other damage fixed.Desired Settlement: I am asking that Spirit Delivery compensate me in order to have a new 30 foot copper water line installed and other damage fixed.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted]. I will need 7-10 days time to gather damage estimates from contractors as requested by Spirit Delivery and will also supply a claims document and pictures along with those estimates. Please keep this Revdex.com damage claim open. Thank you,

Consumer

Response:

This case is unfortunately not resolved. I accepted Spirit Delivery‘s terms to provide pictures, estimates, and a description of the damage of what happened.

I emailed all items as well as mailed hard copies. I received confirmation from [redacted] at Spirit Delivery that all items were received several weeks ago. Since that time I have received no communication what so ever regarding an outcome of this case. I have emailed and left phone messages with no response.

I am asking that this case be reopened as there never was a resolution.

Thank you,

Review: I had a refrigerator delivered to my house on Sept 20 2013..that I bought from sears..spirit delivery is the third party delivery company for Sears, The drivers were rude and disrespectful and didn't have any tools to remove the refrigerator doors or to replace them needed for home entry and the ticket was printed that they would need to remove doors so they were aware before they even showed up.. my house has numerous damage to the walls..floors and trim molding from their careless employees, they didn't even bother to hook up the water line and the fridge doors are installed incorrectly and not working properly and I'm still fighting with them to get the doors working properly even after I told the drivers it wasn't like that till you guys touched it.. he said" o well you will need to call service I guess, I have been here already over an hour and still have more stops to go". I have called sears corporate and the store manager who refereed me to spirit delivery and have talked to several of their people with no answers just more confusion. The two mangers I spoke @ Spirit with both refereed me to each other and each said they would handle this issue right away and get the repairs made to fridge and my house with no results, and then somebody called and wanted to come out and fix the doors from spirit on his day off which was sunday at 8 pm and I said I guess that's fine as weird as it was and nobody ever showed then I received antoher call from the same gentleman a few days later saying he would come that evening and he never showed up nor can I get anybody to return my calls I have received letters from their insurance company, sears insurance company and from their internal claims division and still am thoroughly confused and cant get anyone to return my email or phone calls, furthermore they were supposed to pick up and remove a fridge that was being returned to sears and I had to argue with them to take it and when they did they damaged that fridge also.Desired Settlement: I would like to fridge doors repaired along with some answers and or someone to come repair my floors, walls and ceilings.

Review: On July 25 I scheduled with [redacted] and the Spirit Warehouse, [redacted] the reinstallation on my [redacted] dishwasher purchased through [redacted]. I required a morning appointment and was assured I would have one if I wanted two weeks for the install. The install was scheduled for Aug 8. [redacted] confirmed, verbally, it would be a morning appointment. On 8/7 I received a poorly recording automated call from Spirit indicating install would be on 8/8 from 3:30 to 7:30 pm. This is unacceptable. I immediately attempted to call [redacted] and he would not come to the phone. I contact [redacted] who contacted the general manager. I was then contacted by [redacted], NOT SPIRIT WHO MADE THE DELIVERY PROMISE and told there was not way the install would happen in the a.m. I could have a Saturday a.m appointment.Desired Settlement: I would like a written apology from [redacted] for lying about the promised installation time, I would like to know what Customer took precedence over my install, and I would like the install time, now at MY convenience.

Business

Response:

[redacted] will be sending out a written apology letter to the claimant .

Review: On 12/3/2015 I contacted Spirt Delivery and Distribution on west Lake street in Melrose Park regarding a delivery issues with a bed. Upon asking to speak to a manager I was given to an employee named Shaniqua who advised me that my bed would no longer be delivered on my scheduled date due to a problem with a delivery truck. I advised this associate that I was in desperate need of the delivery considering this appointment had been changed twice and I had already rearranged my work schedule and I was met with an astonishing amount of unprofessionlasm. Shaniqua was incredibly condescending telling me that they were delivering my bed 3 days later and that was a curtisy to me considering they don't deliver on that date. I asked if they could get a different truck and she told me they were all busy. I then asked to talk to her manager she told me he was " in a meeting ". She told me that he would call me back after his meeting and needless to say, my phone never rang. I understand that issues happen beyond anyone's control but if your profession is to run a distribution company and you can't efficiently distribute, then your customer service representative clearly wants nothing to do with customers or service, I feel you should consider a new profession.Desired Settlement: I want my bed, an apology, and to never deal with this company again.
