This company is the WORST to deal with. I have complained to ADT corporate about them but they don't seem to care. When their installer arrived here he insisted that he establish a connection via WIFI even though I told him I had a land line. Later I found out that this type of connection was more money for the monthly service. I had to argue forever to get him to install it via my land line. The entire time he was here he kept trying to get me to spend more money, I had to argue for hours just to get a system installed that was affordable. I felt like the whole thing was a bait and switch attempt and since then trying to get all the resulting issues resolved has been a nightmare. This company is really dishonest and if you want to use ADT then I suggest you find a different dealer if you can or use another company all together. I can't wait for my 3 years to be up to be done with them.

Under the name of ADT this company was soliciting in our neighborhood in Helotes. Even though our neighborhood has a large "Do Not Solicit" sign, they carried on. We explained that we were not interested, and the salesman very rudely said to my wife " Ok, God forbid anything happen to your family". This came off threatening and ulvery professional. I called the company to let them know what kind of people they have walking the streets, and Tim would not do anything to jelp but try to sell me services. Do NOT do business with this company.

I was very impressed on the knowledge of security by the person that installed our home protection program. Hats off to ADT.

This company is terrible to work with. I was a customer of ADT for 13 years and I cancelled my service. I received a promotion in the mail which I thought was from ADT but it had a Protect Your Home logo alongside ADT's logo. They promised a rate of $19.95 a month for the first 12 months but after their tech read the work order wrong and cut my old system out they said I had to go wireless. I declined and sent them packing. They came back to me with a solution to the problem and came back out and installed a hybrid system that used most all of my old equipment. At this point I still thought I was dealing with ADT. The tech left and my first bill was $98.91 on ADT letterhead. I called them and told them of the mistake and they said I would get a credit on my next bill and the mistake was taken care of. I received my next bill and I got charged the $52.99 rate again and this time I called in ADT said I needed to deal with Defender. At this point the was the first time I found out that there was another company handling my account. Defender told me too bad that they couldn't help me and if I wanted to opt out of my contract that I would have to pay 75% of the total contract. I pulled up my DocuSign documents and noticed that it showed $52.99 a month but in section 3 they added that I would pay $19.95 for the first 12 months. Defender told me that too bad you will have to pay us the $52.99. I have now forwarded the signed documents to my personal attorney and we will see where this goes. Don't use this company they are a classic bate and switch shady company.

An unauthorized charge of 99.60, was placed on my credit card. And on my behave they have submitted a dispute to have my finances reimbursed. The other services have turned out well, so for.

Unless you are ok being overcharged, lied to about free equipment, insulted, told that if you want a security system that is effective you need to spend more money and just straight lied to about everything else I would look else where for a security system.
If I would have realized that this company is ok with shady business practices I would have used someone else.

The rep who installed the system was enthusiastic about the product and knowledgeable. He worked with me to customize the package within my budget. He was also professional while also being compassionate. He took the time to explain all the benefits to me and to make me feel comfortable going forward with the process. The system installed is straight forward and easy to use. It took very little time to get used to. I have only two minor complaints: 1. There are some small issues with installation on a few oddly shaped windows, but nothing that can't be solved at a later date. 2. There were some significant inconsistencies between the info bbn I received from the rep on the telephone, who set up the in-person appointment. and the rep who showed up at my home. The monthly price for the system increased $10 or $15, which for me was considerable. The benefits of the higher package was explained, but it still concerns me because that felt like a bait and switch tactic. I've only kept the package because I did find the full rates published online and they may had up to what the reps said, even if there pitches seemed inconsistent at the time.

I live in *** and I got a flyer I was going to go with another company but called this flyer and my sister has adt so I though they were good the lady said I would be getting all this stuff in the flyer free almost everything windows and doors sensors a visa card for $100 so I canceled the other people and went with them and understand I thought they were adt that I was dealing with themself it was not it was defenders that work with adt we worked out stuff with the lady by phone then the guy came out to put it in for $107 I though yes it was $107 just for them to install they started the install riped out my old system then stoped and said it was $300 for everything and I up grated to wyfi and they said you get a free camera in the add also no to add a camera ya they will give it to you for $200 they don’t say that in the add no free sensors stupid me I signed the paper work because it was half way in and they just put a hole in my wall I called back three times asking about the flyer and everything they said was free was not they basically said the flyer was lying and free was not really free still don’t have a free $100 visa card thats a lie to now im stuck in a two year contract my sister went through adt themself she pays less way less a month everything was free she got a free month and a free camera no hidden charges for that adt I would get ride of this company guaranteed in two years im done wont go back with them ever please don’t fall for them even talking on the phone lady gave me all kinds of stuff and promises and the installation guy gave me none of that plus I paid $300 pluss $107 installation I was not promised that the other company was way way way cheaper but I went with defenders because they said they had and promised better so ripped of adt and defenders you should be shut down never ever recommend you ever such lyiers nobody could help get me out of this contract im done with you bad business and they are ruid very ruid

The installation of the system went well. I was surprised at the cost due to the fact that I was replacing another system. The old system was not removed hence I have a large metal box in my closet that is hooked up to god knows what, in any event it looks like a box of spaghetti, I trust it is not a fire hazard. Your customer service department has been very helpful.

Beware of very pushy sales tactics bordering on intimidation. Our Sales Rep wanted to do an install that day, he said he had no litererature we could review regarding the system. The 1st plan he offered was an outrageous $11,500.00. He refused to take "NO" for an answer and went on for hours making new offers at less cost. After 4 hours I began to feel intimated by his size, his refusal to accept "no" and leave, and especially by his pushy attitude. After 4 1/2 hours, he offered a "trail" installation with a printed 3 day Notice of Cancellation. Acceptance of this last offer seemed the only way to get him out of my house. I faxed the cancellation notice to the home office today. I will NEVER do business with this company again

Me and my wife brought some chairs from you guys and got a small spot on two of our bar stool went back in to the store to see what product we could use to clean it bright a product from the store that bleached my stairs two of them and call the corporate office about getting two new stairs and they said there was nothing they can do for me.... clearly they don't stand by products they sale..

We called ADT to have them install a home security system. They quoted me a great price and everything I could possibly want to keep my home safe. We scheduled the appointment to have a technician come out, thinking we had already handled all of the logistics of pricing etc. Instead, a “technician” came out and told us how everything we had been quoted was wrong and how he had already had two people fired that week. We were automatically put off. He then continued to disclose how the rate would be $40 higher and how he would have to charge us for all of these extras. I was so disheartened! My husband had taken work off to help me handle this and instead we both were left with a bitter taste in our mouths. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone because you are getting scammed.

Do not use this company. I have had to have them come out 3 times since May 25. There is no communication between the call center and the installers. They don't explain what they are doing to your house. I built a new house and they punched a hole in the dry wall and didn't even tell me they had to do that to put the new keypad up. They tell you that you get a 1000 dollar equipment upgrades but they charge you 120 dollars for a 7 dollar key fob. They also manage to up charge you on everything. We were supposed to have ADT pulse and then when they got here that is an extra 500 dollars. You need the network for that and that is another 100 dollars. Nothing is clear over the phone. They also put me down for a 3 year contract! Well as soon as that contract is done I am DONE. If you want to cancel your contract it is going to be 1300 dollars by the way. The other scam is they offer you a 100 dollar gift card for signing up but you have to pay 4.95 for shipping and buy a money order so my gift card is really $94.37. I also should take off the postage I had to pay to mail the certificate in to get my gift card. They also owe me a refund on my credit card. That could take up to a month. Hopefully I make it through this 3 years.

The gentleman who did my instalation was most helpful and courtious. A true profesional with a great personality. I would recommed this service withour reservations.

1. sales person was pushy, and used scare tactics to try to sell us 10K in additional equipment when this home already had sensors on every window, & door and motion detectors
2. installer #1 was here for 5.5 hours just hard selling! didn't install a thing and we asked him to leave. He took out FOB with him and they had to give us a new one (old owners left fobs for us)
3. second attempt at install went better, still took 2 hours and still pushed into items and services like ADT Pulse- again not worth the extra $25 a month
4.We were promised a $100 gift card - never got paperwork had to call- then found out I have to pay to get gift card . The rep at defenders told me, You don't have to pay it, you just wont get the gift card!

5. I was never told I would have to pay S&H to get the card, and I asked to speeak to a manager, TREY 21511 told me NO. The rep refused to put manger or anyone else on phone saying he was the only person I would speak with. after 20 min I was done wasting my time.

I WILL NEER RECOMEND THIS COMPANY OR ADT FOR THAT MATTER. ADT NEEDS TO SCREEN THEIR SUBCONTRACTORS BETTER. AS THIS IS A DIRET REFLECTION OF THEM

I just got my alarm installed in October. Since that time, techs have visited my home several times because my alarm beeps in the middle of the night waking me up. Every time I am assured that the issue is resolved, but once again I have been up since 2:45 a.m. listening to my alarm beep. I have no peace if my mind, rather it is from my lack of sleep from this system, or my lack of faith in the system and company. I want to cancel my service and I should not have to pay for the remainder of the contract since I was sold a faulty system that the company has failed to repair.
